• jquery atrr("href") is not consistent ..in sharepoint

  Hi all I have a jquery function(This is not written by me anyway still I am learning). In that we are replacing urls using f.attr("href") in several places. I am not understanding that from where this href value will be binded. And why the value(f.attr("href")) is changing place to place. I mean to say it is having some value @ one location and if I give the same it is giving me different value at other location. I read in article that The .attr() method gets the attribute value for only the first element in the matched set..What is the matched set means

• Modify site column(type text) to allow more than 255 characters

  Hi friends I have created custom site column with type text and I included in one of content types. But it is allowing me for 255 characters only. In which way I can extend it, say 1024 characters. I did this before by mentioning somewhere in web.config file but I forgot how i did. Can anyone please tell me how can I achieve this. Thanks in advance.

• how to set different views for admin and user

  Hi I am little new to SharePoint. Here is my question How can we make different views for administrator VS logged in user. For instance I need to display the quicklaunch only to admin and not for user. And user should not see site actions tab. How can we set this. • Delete page permenetly

  Hi I deleted sharepoint page which is based on page layout through browser by going siteactions--managing content and structure-- pages-- selected the page-- delete(by right clicking). But when I see in the content database still the page is there. Basically I want to delete the content type which I could nt delete as it is being used by a page. I am getting "Content type is in use" Is there one have solution for this. Please let me know. Thanks in advance.
