Is there a shortcut for creating a new file?

I haven't seen any shortcut for creating "A New Text Document" or any file. Is there any?

Ctrl + Shift + N launches the default browser with the text on the clipboard as the url

I don't know, why this happens, but when I want to create a new folder (Win 7), I press Ctrl + Shift + N. It used to work before, but now, the shortcut seems to have been overridden. It launches the default browser with the text on the clipboard as the url. How do I fix this?

How do you adjust the subtitles track? I have a video and I downloaded the subtitles from somewhere. It is a few seconds after the video. I mean can you push the track a few seconds forward or pull it backward in either VLC or Windows Media Player?

How can we set authorization for a whole area in ASP.NET MVC?

I've an Admin area and I want only Admins to enter the area. I considered adding the Authorized attribute to every controller in the Admin area. Isn't there an elegant solution or is this feature not there in the framework itself? EDIT: I'm sorry, I should to have mentioned this before. I'm using a custom AuthorizedAttribute derived from AuthorizeAttribute.

Is there no book on algorithms that is easy to read, like the Head First series?

I've seen Introduction to Algorithms by Cormen but I find it difficult to read after reading a lot of Head First books. Is there no book that explains Algorithms in a play way manner?
