backup flashdrive

Is there a utility I can use that will take a backup of my flash drive every time I insert it into the computer with out me having to take any action?
I would prefer something that runs on mac and windows.
I am running windows 7 64 bit with 2 monitors. Several time a day the system will freeze up for about 5 seconds and the screens will go black. After the 5 seconds are up, the system continues to function properly. I get no error messages that pop up and all the applications I am running handle it fine.
All the devices appear fine, my drivers…
