  • Git - Ignore certain files contained in specific folders

    I'm using msysgit and have a project tree that contains many bin/ folders in the tree. Using the .gitignore file in the root of the project I need to ignore all .dll files that reside within a bin/ folder anywhere in the project tree. I've tried "bin/*.dll" but that doesn't work, I assume it is only working against the bin/ folder in the root of the project.

    I have an "AddressListBox" ListBox that contains "AddressDetails" UserControl items, as shown in the .xaml file extract below. The Addresses collection is defined as ObservableCollection< Address Addresses and Street, Number, PostCode, City are properties of the Address class. The binding fails, when I use the "{Binding property}" syntax shown below. The binding succeeds, when I use the "dummy" strings in the commented-out code. I have also tried "{Binding Path=property}" syntax without success.     Hello everyone, I am having trouble with a homework question that I've been working at for quite some time. I don't know exactly why the question is asking and need some clarification on that and also a push in the right direction. Here is the question: (2) Solve this problem using one single subscripted array of counters. The program uses an array of characters defined using the C initialization feature. The program counts the number of each of the alphabetic characters a to z (only lower case characters are counted) and prints a report (in a neat table) of the number of occurrences of each lower case character found. Only print the counts for the letters that occur at least once. That is do not print a count if it is zero. DO NOT use a switch statement in your solution. NOTE: if x is of type char, x-‘a’ is the difference between the ASCII codes for the character in x and the character ‘a’. For example if x holds the character ‘c’ then x-‘a’ has the value 2, while if x holds the character ‘d’, then x-‘a’ has the value 3.     Hi there, can someone give me some advice on how to restore the 4 system databases (master, msdb, model, tempdb) of a sql server 2008 please? I've already done some testing myself (on restoring the master database) with the following commad line script as a result: ::set variables set dbname=master set dbdirectory=C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL10.MSSQLSERVER\MSSQL\DATA title Restoring %dbname% database net stop mssqlserver cd C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL10.MSSQLSERVER\MSSQL\Binn sqlservr -m sqlcmd -Slocalhost -E -Q "restore database master from disk='c:\master.bak' WITH REPLACE" net start mssqlserver pause After the execution of the 'sqlservr -m' command (used to start the server instance in single-user mode, which is only necessary when restoring the MASTER database), the script stops. So in order to execute the last 2 commands I need to separate the script into 2 smaller scripts, and run them one after the other. Does anyone has an idea on how I can merge them into one single script that runs completely without any interruption? I also want to restore the other 3 system databases using command line scripts like this one. Can someone please advice me how I need to go on? I've already noticed that restoring the temdb is not so easy, but there has to be a way... Looking forward to your advice!

    I'd like to create a MSBuild project that reflects the project dependencies in a solution and wraps the VS projects inside reusable targets. The problem I like solve doing this is to svn-export, build and deploy a specific assembly (and its dependencies) in an BizTalk application. My question is: How can I make the targets for svn-exporting, building and deploying reusable and also reuse the wrapped projects when they are built for different dependencies? I know it would be simpler to just build the solution and deploy only the assemblies needed but I'd like to reuse the targets as much as possible.   • Finding contained bordered regions from Excel imports.

    I am importing massive amounts of data from Excel that have various table layouts. I have good enough table detection routines and merge cell handling, but I am running into a problem when it comes to dealing with borders. Namely performance. The bordered regions in some of these files have meaning. Data Setup: I am importing directly from Office Open XML using VB6 and MSXML. The data is parsed from the XML into a dictionary of cell data. This wonks wonderfully and is just as fast as using docmd.transferspreadsheet in Access, but returns much better results. Each cell contains a pointer to a style element which contains a pointer to a border element that defines the visibility and weight of each border (this is how the data is structured inside OpenXML, also). Challenge: What I'm trying to do is find every region that is enclosed inside borders, and create a list of cells that are inside that region. What I have done: I initially created a BFS(breadth first search) fill routine to find these areas. This works wonderfully and fast for "normal" sized spreadsheets, but gets way too slow for imports into the thousands of rows. One problem is that a border in Excel could be stored in the cell you are checking or the opposing border in the adjacent cell. That's ok, I can consolidate that data on import to reduce the number of checks needed. One thing I thought about doing is to create a separate graph that outlines the cells using the borders as my edges and using a graph algorithm to find regions that way, but I'm having trouble figuring out how to implement the algorithm. I've used Dijkstra in the past and thought I could do similar with this. So I can span out using no endpoint to search the entire graph, and if I encounter a closed node I know that I just found an enclosed region, but how can I know if the route I've found is the optimal one? I guess I could flag that to run a separate check for the found closed node to the previous node ignoring that one edge. This could work, but wouldn't be much better performance wise on dense graphs. Can anyone else suggest a better method? Thanks for taking the time to read this.

    I'm in the process of moving a JSF heavy web application to a REST and mainly JS module application . I've watched "scalable javascript application architecture" by Nicholas Zakas on yui theater (excellent video) and implemented much of the talk with good success but i have some questions : I found the lecture a little confusing in regards to the relationship between modules and sandboxes , on one had to my understanding modules should not be effected by something happening outside of their sandbox and this is why they publish events via the sandbox (and not via the core as they do access the core for hiding base libary) but each module in the application gets a new sandbox ? , shouldn't the sandbox limit events to the modoules using it ? or should events be published cross page ? e.g. : if i have two editable tables but i want to contain each one in a different sandbox and it's events effect only the modules inside that sandbox something like messabe box per table which is a different module/widget how can i do that with sandbox per module , ofcourse i can prefix the events with the moduleid but that creates coupling that i want to avoid ... and i don't want to package modules toghter as one module per combination as i already have 6-7 modules ? while i can hide the base library for small things like id selector etc.. i would still like to use the base library for module dependencies and resource loading and use something like yui loader or dojo.require so in fact i'm hiding the base library but the modules themself are defined and loaded by the base library ... seems a little strange to me libraries don't return simple js objects but usualy wrap them e.g. : u can do something like $$('.classname').each(.. which cleans the code alot , it makes no sense to wrap the base and then in the module create a dependency for the base library by executing .each but not using those features makes a lot of code written which can be left out ... and implemnting that functionality is very bug prone does anyonen have any experience with building a front side stack of this order ? how easy is it to change a base library and/or have modules from different libraries , using yui datatable but doing form validation with dojo ... ? some what of a combination of 2+4 if u choose to do something like i said and load dojo form validation widgets for inputs via yui loader would that mean dojocore is a module and the form module is dependant on it ?   • LINQ query to find if items in a list are contained in another list

    I have the following code: List<string> test1 = new List<string> { "@bob.com", "@tom.com" }; List<string> test2 = new List<string> { "[email protected]", "[email protected]" }; I need to remove anyone in test2 that has @bob.com or @tom.com. What I have tried is this: bool bContained1 = test1.Contains(test2); bool bContained2 = test2.Contains(test1); bContained1 = false but bContained2 = true. I would prefer not to loop through each list but instead use a Linq query to retrieve the data. bContained1 is the same condition for the Linq query that I have created below: List<string> test3 = test1.Where(w => !test2.Contains(w)).ToList(); The query above works on an exact match but not partial matches. I have looked at other queries but I can find a close comparison to this with Linq. Any ideas or anywhere you can point me to would be a great help.

  • MySQL permissions error when showing databases

    I was trying to install homebrew and very very stupidly did this: sudo chown -R $USER /usr/local The Homebrew instructions say to do this and I'm not much of a sysadmin so I took their word for it. Lesson learned (although I wouldn't really know how to test this...seems like an "undo" script would be super valuable here) Anyway, what is done is done, but now I get this error: $ mysql -u root -p Enter password: Welcome to the MySQL monitor. Commands end with ; or \g. Your MySQL connection id is 548 Server version: 5.1.33 Source distribution Type 'help;' or '\h' for help. Type '\c' to clear the buffer. mysql> show databases; ERROR 1018 (HY000): Can't read dir of '.' (errno: 13) I tried chown-ing back to root with no avail. Does anyone know how I can fix this without reinstalling mysql? Optionally, if I have to reinstall mysql, how can I dump my databases without access to the command line so I don't lose all of my data. Thanks!

  • jQuery UI .widgets resetting scroll positions of elements contained within

    I am making heavy use of jQuery UI with my latest project. Unfortunately I've hit a major wall due to some really whacky behavior exhibited by the jQuery UI widgets when they contain elements with scrollbars for overflow. Check out this demo Scroll down in one of the .scroll-container elements Click an accordion header Click on old header - note the element was auto-scrolled to the top. Is there anyway to prevent this from happening? It's screwing with a major plugin of mine that utilizes jQuery scrolling. I'm flat-out lost as to what to do here! Perhaps this is a bug worth mentioning in the jQuery UI dev forums... EDIT I am using Chrome - 8.0.552.231 and OSX 10.6.5

  • Uploading or writing to files contained within s3

    We have a widget that needs to be hosted on s3 due to a bunch of hoopla that isn't relevant to the issue. I'd explain if it was worth the time. Problem is it calls an external XML file for part of its content. The XML file is accessible if it is local on s3 but I cannot get my php file to write to it on s3. The widget could also be useful if I could access the xml file elsewhere but s3 does not seem to permit this. Suggestions? Here's the error I'm getting when trying to write to S3. [function.fopen]: failed to open stream: HTTP wrapper does not support writeable connections.
