  • Concat wchar_t Unicode strings in C?

    I'm a beginner, I play with FindFirstFileW() of the winapi - C. The unicoded path is: " \\?\c:\Français\", and I would like to concat "*" to this path of type wchar_t (then I will use it as an arg for FindFirstFileW()). I made two test cases of mine, the first is ansi_string() which seem to work fine, the second is unicode_string() - which I don't quite understand how should I concat the additional "*" char to the unicoded path. I write the strings to a file, because I'm not able to print Unicoded characters to stdout. Note: my goal is to learn, which means I'll appreciate guidance and references to the appropriate resources regards my scenario, I'm very much a beginner and this is my first attempt with Unicode.     Hello! I'm running this query: SELECT DISTINCT CONCAT(ALFA_CLAVE, FECHA_NACI) FROM listado GROUP BY ALFA_CLAVE HAVING count(CONCAT(ALFA_CLAVE, FECHA_NACI)) > 1 Is there any way to optimize it? Queries are taking 2-3 hours on a table with 850,000 rows. Adding an index to ALFA_CLAVE and FECHA_NACI would work? Thanks in advanced

    A few months ago my company was purchased by a large corporation. We recently switched our network over to the large corporate network which has more restrictions requirements. One of these is the requirement to use a proxy server for Internet traffic. However, some of our internal servers are not recognized by the corporate DNS, so we need to provide the fully qualified domain name. For W7, we make changes to the Internet Properties for IE8 and Chrome to include our domain name as an exception to the proxy server (e.g., *.foobar.com). The problem is that a group policy that does not include our domain name is continually pushed out to my systems throughout the day. This requires me to make the appropriate changes to the Internet Properties several times a day in order to access our internal servers. Is there a way that I can prevent the group policy from being pushed to my systems or detect when the group policy is pushed and override it? I am an administrator on all of my systems. I do have Firefox installed which is not subject to the same group policy push, but I need to have IE8 and Chrome working.

    Hello i have a question on picking random entries from a database. I have 4 tables, products, bids and autobids, and users. Products ------- id 20,21,22,23,24(prime_key) price........... etc........... users ------- id(prim_key) name user1,user2,user3 etc bids ------- product_id user_id created autobids -------- user_id product_id Now a multiple users can have an autobid on an product. So for the next bidder I want to select a random user from the autobid table example of the query in language: for each product in the autobid table I want a random user, which is not the last bidder. On product 20 has user1,user2,user3 an autobidding. On product 21 has user1,user2,user3 an autobidding Then I want a resultset that looks for example like this 20 – user2 21 – user3 Just a random user. I tried miximg the GOUP BY (product_id) and making it RAND(), but I just can't get the right values from it. Now I am getting a random user, but all the values that go with it don't match. Can someone please help me construct this query, I am using php and mysql

Grouping helps in executing special function like sum, max average etc to be performed on certain groups of data inside the date result set. Grouping is done with the help of the Group method. Below is an example of the basic group functionality.     int[] numbers = { 5, 4, 1, 3, 9, 8, 6, 7, 2, 0 };         var numberGroups =         from num in numbers         group num by num % 5 into numGroup         select new { Remainder = numGroup.Key, Numbers = numGroup };  In the above example we have grouped the values based on the reminder left over when divided by 5. First we are grouping the values based on the reminder when divided by 5 into the numgroup variable.  numGroup.Key gives the value of the key on which the grouping has been applied. And the numGroup itself contains all the records that are contained in that group. Below is another example to explain the same. string[] words = { "blueberry", "abacus", "banana", "apple", "cheese" };         var wordGroups =         from num in words         group num by num[0] into grp         select new { FirstLetter = grp.Key, Words = grp }; In the above example we are grouping the value with the first character of the string (num[0]). Just like the order operator the group by clause also allows us to write our own logic for the Equal comparison (That means we can group Item by ignoring case also by writing out own implementation). For this we need to pass an object that implements the IEqualityComparer<string> interface.
