• CodeIgniter: Where should a particular functionality go ?

  I have an application in codeigniter and a page needs to perform the following tasks 1 - controller decides which model to use based of the url and parameters 2 - controller loads the model and get the data from it 3 - controller formats the data in a particular format, depending on the items in it 4 - controller loads a common view, which will display the data (formatted data contains simple display fields) now there is a search page, which needs to do a text query against all of the possible text fields in database in all tables. It needs to show each type of data in its own formatted output on a single page as a list. The problem: The search controller can do the search, dynamically load model for each record type, and get the data from model. Problem comes when the data needs to be formatted. It looks that ideally the search controller should load another controller which will provide formatted data ... There is where it gets out of control ... My question is: What am I doing wrong? Is there any better way to do this? How would you do the same to solve the problem?

• Unable to dismiss MFMailComposeViewController, delegate not called

  HI, I am calling MFMailComposeViewController from UITableViewController. Problem is, delegate method mailComposeController:(MFMailComposeViewController)controllerdidFinishWithResult* is never called when I select Cancel or Send button in Mail compose window. After Cancel or Send button is presses Compose Window stays on the screen with buttons disabled. I can exit application pressing Home key. • Have Microsoft changed how ASP.NET MVC deals with duplicate action method names?

  I might be missing something here, but in ASP.NET MVC 4, I can't get the following to work. Given the following controller: public class HomeController : Controller { public ActionResult Index() { return View(); } [HttpPost] public ActionResult Index(string order1, string order2) { return null; } } and it's view: @{ ViewBag.Title = "Home"; } @using (Html.BeginForm()) { @Html.TextBox("order1")<br /> @Html.TextBox("order2") <input type="submit" value="Save"/> } When start the app, all I get is this: The current request for action 'Index' on controller type 'HomeController' is ambiguous between the following action methods: System.Web.Mvc.ActionResult Index() on type ViewData.Controllers.HomeController System.Web.Mvc.ActionResult Index(System.String, System.String) on type ViewData.Controllers.HomeController Now, in ASP.NET MVC 3 the above works fine, I just tried it, so what's changed in ASP.NET MVC 4 to break this? OK there could be a chance that I'm doing something silly here, and not noticing it. EDIT: I notice that in the MVC 4 app, the Global.asax.cs file did not contain this: public static void RegisterRoutes(RouteCollection routes) { routes.IgnoreRoute("{resource}.axd/{*pathInfo}"); routes.MapRoute( "Default", // Route name "{controller}/{action}/{id}", // URL with parameters new { controller = "Home", action = "Index", id = UrlParameter.Optional } // Parameter defaults ); } which the MVC 3 app does, by default. So I added the above to the MVC 4 app but it fails with the same error. Note that the MVC 3 app does work fine with the above route. I'm passing the "order" data via the Request.Form. EDIT: In the file RouteConfig.cs I can see RegisterRoutes is executed, with the following default route: routes.MapRoute( name: "Default", url: "{controller}/{action}/{id}", defaults: new { controller = "Home", action = "Index", id = UrlParameter.Optional }); I still get the original error, regards ambiguity between which Index() method to call.

• Angularjs throws TypeError: Cannot read property 'indexOf' of undefined

  I'm trying to debug the above code which I feel like this is very useful .< I can't even find what is wrong in my code and don't really know where to start since Angularjs still very new to me. I'm trying to localize Angularjs app. I know this is missing a lot of context in order to get a help, but I'm trying to see what information that I should give that would help on this debugging. I've gone through any indexOf in angularjs file and I can see few things is undefined but don't know if that would be helpful. • How can I keep the the logic to translate a ViewModel's values to a Where clause to apply to a linq query out of My Controller?

  This same problem keeps cropping up. I have a viewModel that doesn't have any persistent backing. It is just a ViewModel to generate a search input form. I want to build a large where clause from the values the user entered. If the Action Accepts as a parameter SearchViewModel How do I do this without passing my viewModel to my service layer? Service shouldn't know about ViewModels right? Oh and if I serialize it, then it would be a big string and the key/values would be strongly typed. SearchViewModel this is just a snippet. • Dealloc'd Predicate crashing iPhone App!

  To preface, this is a follow up to an inquiry made a few days ago: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2981803/iphone-app-crashes-when-merging-managed-object-contexts Short Version: EXC_BAD_ACCESS is crashing my app, and zombie-mode revealed the culprit to be my predicate embedded within the fetch request embedded in my Fetched Results Controller. How does an object within an object get released without an explicit command to do so? By the time - (NSInteger)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView numberOfRowsInSection:(NSInteger)section gets called, the _predicate is now a Zombie, which will eventually crash the application when the table attempts to update itself. I'm more or less flummoxed. I'm not releasing the fetched results controller or any of it's parts, and the only part getting dealloc'd is the predicate. Any ideas?

• PHP MVC Framework Structure

  I am sorry about the amount of code here. I have tried to show enough for understanding while avoiding confusion (I hope). I have included a second copy of the code at Pastebin. (The code does execute without error/notice/warning.) I am currently creating a Content Management System while trying to implement the idea of Model View Controller. I have only recently come across the concept of MVC (within the last week) and trying to implement this into my current project. One of the features of the CMS is dynamic/customisable menu areas and each feature will be represented by a controller. Therefore there will be multiple versions of the Controller Class, each with specific extended functionality. I have looked at a number of tutorials and read some open source solutions to the MVC Framework. I am now trying to create a lightweight solution for my specific requirements. I am not interested in backwards compatibility, I am using PHP 5.3. An advantage of the Base class is not having to use global and can directly access any loaded class using $this->Obj['ClassName']->property/function();. Hoping to get some feedback using the basic structure outlined (with performance in mind). Specifically; a) Have I understood/implemented the concept of MVC correctly? b) Have I understood/implemented Object Orientated techniques with PHP 5 correctly? c) Should the class propertise of Base be static? d) Improvements? • Active Directory Child Domain Replication Problems

  Hi, I've recently inherited an Active Directory (all DCs Windows 2003) which has been configured with several child domains that are used as test environments for out CRM software. Two of these child domains have been used for testing using dates in the future (2015), throwing them well outside of the Kerberos tolerance for time, and they're flooding my event logs with replication errors such as the following: Description: The attempt to establish a replication link for the following writable directory partition failed. Directory partition: CN=Schema,CN=Configuration,DC=ad,DC=xxxxxxx,DC=com Source domain controller: CN=NTDS Settings,CN=TESTDC001,CN=Servers,CN=SiteName,CN=Sites,CN=Configuration,DC=ad,DC=xxxxxxx,DC=com Source domain controller address: 38e95b2a-35af-4174-84ba-9ab039528cce._msdcs.ad.xxxxxxx.com Intersite transport (if any): This domain controller will be unable to replicate with the source domain controller until this problem is corrected. User Action Verify if the source domain controller is accessible or network connectivity is available. Additional Data Error value: 5 Access is denied. I'd also like to upgrade to Windows 2008 at some point, but wouldn't want to attempt any schema updates while I'm not 100% confident on the replication. I'm guessing my only real solution will be to get rid of these child domains. The child domains are operating as stand alone domains, the DC is up and running and authenticating test users fine. I'm guessing the best solution to this would be to delete the domains (although I'd be happily told otherwise). The clock forwarding appears to have been happening for several years, so I'm assuming I can't just put the clock right (I'm guessing scope for this would be 180days, the same as the tombstone lifetime) With the replication errors would I be able to dcpromo the child domains DC, select it as the last domain controller in the domain and the child domain would be deleted? Or would I be better off treating the domain as an orphaned domain and use Microsoft's instructions to clear up as such. Any advice would be much appreciated.

• Troubleshooting a Windows 7 PC that wouldn't sleep

  I have a new Windows 7 PC that wouldn't sleep (not just automatically, but also when specifically told to). The screen goes black momentarily, but within two seconds the machine comes back as if nothing has happened. I tried powercfg energy. This produces some errors quoted at the bottom of this post, plus some warnings about timer resolution. There are no USB devices connected other than wireless keyboard + mouse (Logitech MK250); I tried unplugging them to no effect. The motherboard is Asus P7P55D-E. powercfg lastwake says "Wake History Count - 0", which I take to mean that it never actually went to sleep. I dual boot into Ubuntu, and was having exactly the same problem on the Linux side. That turned out to do with USB 3.0, which I've now disabled in the BIOS. This has solved the problem on the Ubuntu side of things, but made no difference to Windows 7. Any suggestions? Suspend:USB Device not Entering Suspend The USB device did not enter the Suspend state.   I just recently installed a Nagios implementation, and I'm trying to get LDAP authentication working for httpd on Red Hat. • Programmatically disclosing a node in af:tree and af:treeTable

  A common developer requirement when working with af:tree or af:treeTable components is to programmatically disclose (expand) a specific node in the tree. If the node to disclose is not a top level node, like a location in a LocationsView -> DepartmentsView -> EmployeesView hierarchy, you need to also disclose the node's parent node hierarchy for application users to see the fully expanded tree node structure. Working on ADF Code Corner sample #101, I wrote the following code lines that show a generic option for disclosing a tree node starting from a handle to the node to disclose. The use case in ADF Coder Corner sample #101 is a drag and drop operation from a table component to a tree to relocate employees to a new department. The tree node that receives the drop is a department node contained in a location. In theory the location could be part of a country and so on to indicate the depth the tree may have. Based on this structure, the code below provides a generic solution to parse the current node parent nodes and its child nodes. The drop event provided a rowKey for the tree node that received the drop. Like in af:table, the tree row key is not of type oracle.jbo.domain.Key but an implementation of java.util.List that contains the row keys. The JUCtrlHierBinding class in the ADF Binding layer that represents the ADF tree binding at runtime provides a method named findNodeByKeyPath that allows you to get a handle to the JUCtrlHierNodeBinding instance that represents a tree node in the binding layer. CollectionModel model = (CollectionModel) your_af_tree_reference.getValue(); JUCtrlHierBinding treeBinding = (JUCtrlHierBinding ) model.getWrappedData(); JUCtrlHierNodeBinding treeDropNode = treeBinding.findNodeByKeyPath(dropRowKey); To disclose the tree node, you need to create a RowKeySet, which you do using the RowKeySetImpl class. Because the RowKeySet replaces any existing row key set in the tree, all other nodes are automatically closed. RowKeySetImpl rksImpl = new RowKeySetImpl(); //the first key to add is the node that received the drop //operation (departments).            rksImpl.add(dropRowKey);    Similar, from the tree binding, the root node can be obtained. The root node is the end of all parent node iteration and therefore important. JUCtrlHierNodeBinding rootNode = treeBinding.getRootNodeBinding(); The following code obtains a reference to the hierarchy of parent nodes until the root node is found. JUCtrlHierNodeBinding dropNodeParent = treeDropNode.getParent(); //walk up the tree to expand all parent nodes while(dropNodeParent != null && dropNodeParent != rootNode){    //add the node's keyPath (remember its a List) to the row key set    rksImpl.add(dropNodeParent.getKeyPath());      dropNodeParent = dropNodeParent.getParent(); } Next, you disclose the drop node immediate child nodes as otherwise all you see is the department node. Its not quite exactly "dinner for one", but the procedure is very similar to the one handling the parent node keys ArrayList<JUCtrlHierNodeBinding> childList = (ArrayList<JUCtrlHierNodeBinding>) treeDropNode.getChildren();                     for(JUCtrlHierNodeBinding nb : childList){   rksImpl.add(nb.getKeyPath()); } Next, the row key set is defined as the disclosed row keys on the tree so when you refresh (PPR) the tree, the new disclosed state shows tree.setDisclosedRowKeys(rksImpl); AdfFacesContext.getCurrentInstance().addPartialTarget(tree.getParent()); The refresh in my use case is on the tree parent component (a layout container), which usually shows the best effect for refreshing the tree component.

• unexplainable packet drops with 5 ethernet NICs and low traffic on Ubuntu

  I'm stuck on problem where my machine started to drops packets with no sign of ANY system load or high interrupt usage after an upgrade to Ubuntu 12.04. My server is a network monitoring sensor, running Ubuntu LTS 12.04, it passively collects packets from 5 interfaces doing network intrusion type stuff. Before the upgrade I managed to collect 200+GB of packets a day while writing them to disk with around 0% packet loss depending on the day with the help of CPU affinity and NIC IRQ to CPU bindings. Now I lose a great deal of packets with none of my applications running and at very low PPS rate which a modern workstation NIC would have no trouble with. Specs: x64 Xeon 4 cores 3.2 Ghz 16 GB RAM NICs: 5 Intel Pro NICs using the e1000 driver (NAPI). [1] eth0 and eth1 are integrated NICs (in the motherboard) There are 2 other PCI-X network cards, each with 2 Ethernet ports. 3 of the interfaces are running at Gigabit Ethernet, the others are not because they're attached to hubs. On the old system, if it couldn't keep up this is where the drops would be. I drop packets on multiple interfaces just about every second, usually in small increments of 2-4.   Hi, I'm building an application based on the Utility template from Xcode, to which I have added some more views. My application structure would be as follows: MainView (the app menu) Flip-side view (a calculator) UINavigationController Settings view viewDiDLoad: UITabBarController - Tab1 view (options) - Tab2 view (information text) I can navigate correctly from my MainView to my Flip-side view, which is also the root view of the Navigation Controller. From my Flip-side view, I push a second view of my Navigation Controller (Settings view) that is configured to show an UITabBarController, with two tabs, as soon as it loads (with viewDidLoad). If I remove the UITabBarController, I can return with no problems to my Flip-side view using "popViewController" from my Settings view. The problem comes if I load the UITabBarController in viewDiDLoad in my Settings view... the tabs work perfectly, but I'm not able to return to my Flip-side view (root view of the Navigation Controller) anymore. I CAN return if I use the Navigation Bar of the Navigation Controller, but I want to configure my own buttons and have the Navigation Bar hidden. So far I've tried the following methods: [self.navigationController popViewControllerAnimated:YES]; [self.navigationController popToRootViewControllerAnimated:YES]; [self.navigationController popToViewController:FlipSideViewController animated:YES]; But they don't seem to work. The first two just do nothing (the screen remains as it was), and the third one does not recognize the "FlipsideViewController" (maybe because it's a delegate of the MainViewController?). Is there a way to check what is exactly doing the "back" button of the Navigation Bar if I activate it? Should I be using delegates? Can I call a popViewController method in my Settings view from any of the two Tab views? • Problem with Rotating a UIScrollview

  Hey guys, I am having issues trying to get the pageControl sample code to work with rotation. I managed to get it to rotate but it does not visually loads correctly until I start to scroll (then it works fine). Any Idea on how I can fix this problem? I have read the Cocoa Bindings Program Topics and think I grok it but still can't solve my issue. I have a very simple class called MTSong that has various properties. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Scott Update Post Comments I wasn't exposing mySong property so have changed my AppController.h to be: #import <Cocoa/Cocoa.h> @class MTSong; @interface AppController : NSObject { IBOutlet NSButton *start; IBOutlet NSTextField *tf; MTSong *mySong; } -(IBAction)convertFile:(id)sender; @end I suspect File's owner was wrong as I am not using a document based application and I need to bind to the AppController, so step 2 is now: Go to Inspector-Bindings-Controller Content Bind To: App Controller Model Key Path: mySong I needed to change 3. to Select the cell of the label and go to Inspector Bind to: Object Controller Controller Key: selection Model Key Path: version All compiles and is playing nice!

• Issues getting a Cisco WLC 5508 to find AIR-LAP1142N

  hoping someone can help me with a problem here. I'm attempting to setup a test (loan from Cisco) wireless network. Here's what i've got/done: 5508 Controller - Service Port IP set to 10.74.5.2 /24. Management IP set to 10.74.6.2 /24 with a default gateway of 10.74.6.1. Virtual IP set to 1.1.1.1. Copper SFP in slot 7, CAT5 (known good) going from there to port 1/0/47 on the switch. Green lights on both ends. 2960-S Switch - Vlan1 - 10.74.6.1 /24. dhcp pool 10.74.6.0 /24, default router 10.74.6.1. excluded-address 10.74.6.1, 10.74.6.2. 1/0/4 on the switch is set to switchport mode access and no shut. 1/0/47 on the switch is setup to switchport mode trunk and no shut. 1/0/4 has a CAT5 (known good) cable going from there to the AP. When I do a sh cdp nei from the switch, i can see the AP and Controller listed. When i configure my PC's nic to 10.74.5.5, and plug a cable from my nic to the SP port on the controller i can get on the device via the gui. In there, the only errors/info that show up in the trap are: Link Up: Slot: 0 Port: 7 Controller time base status - Controller is out of sync with the central timebase. I've manually set the time but apparently that's not quite the problem (or at least not the entire problem). When i plug the AP in, i see on the switch console that it grants it power, it sees it connect...but the controller won't see it for some reason. From what i've read you shouldn't have to do anything to the AP as it's managed by the controller...but i'm not sure what setting I'm missing for it to work. The AP light on top is continually cycling green, red, yellow. When I first start it up, it blinks green for 20 or so seconds, then goes to solid green for another 20 seconds or so, then flashes blue, green, red for awhile...but always ends up goinn back to the standard, green, red, yellow. Does anyone see any obvious issues with my setup or have any suggestions as to why i might be having a problem? Thanks for your help!

  I have a login view controller that has a button and a UI text view that becomes the first responder. When the button is clicked it loads the forgot view controller and a new UI textview becomes the first responder. When I dissmis the modal view controller the keyboard also gets dismissed and when I load the forgot view controller again the keyboard will not pop up as the first responder. • Drawing an image on view over scrollview

  Hi, I have a scrollview on a controller. To enable paging for scrollview, i have added another controller, which initializes when the pages are made. That means for each page i have a controller made at run time. In the view of scroll controller, i am trying to draw an image using drawRect. The problem is i see the drawn image only for the 1st page and when i scroll, the other controllers are blank. Please help

• MVC: models interacts with the view?

  i know that everything is going through the controller. but i often read articles that says something like this: user interacts with the view controller asks the model to change its state model notifies the view when its sate has changed i dont get the 3rd one. why saying that the model notifies the view, when it actually is notifying the controller and the controller is notifying the view?
