  I wish to print out double as the following rules : 1) No scietific notation 2) Maximum decimal point is 3 3) No trailing 0. • How to get the parameter names of an object's constructors (reflection)?

  Say I somehow got an object reference from an other class: Object myObj = anObject; Now I can get the class of this object: Class objClass = myObj.getClass(); Now, I can get all constructors of this class: Constructor[] constructors = objClass.getConstructors(); Now, I can loop every constructor: if (constructors.length > 0) { for (int i = 0; i < constructors.length; i++) { System.out.println(constructors[i]); } } This is already giving me a good summary of the constructor, for example a constructor public Test(String paramName) is shown as public Test(java.lang.String) Instead of giving me the class type however, I want to get the name of the parameter.. in this case "paramName". How would I do that?   In my little project here I have sorted a list in decending order, however, my goal is to sort it in this custom pattern. (largest - smallest - next largest - next smallest -)etc. In java I was able to do this like this... My goal is to do the same thing but in python, except backwards.   I have to write a program that reads in a length in feet and inches and outputs the equivalent length in meters and centimeters. I have to create three functions: one for input, one or more for calculating, and one for output; And include a loop that lets the user repeat this computation for new input values until the user says he or she wants to end the program. I can't seem to get the input from one function to be used in the conversion function and then outputted by the next function. How do I do that?   We have some common misconceptions on returning the last inserted identity value from tables. To return the last inserted identity value we have options to use @@IDENTITY or SCOPE_IDENTITY or IDENT_CURRENT function depending on the requirement but it will be a real mess if anybody uses anyone of these functions without knowing exact purpose. So here I want to share my thoughts on this. @@IDENTITY, SCOPE_IDENTITY and IDENT_CURRENT are almost similar functions in terms of returning identity value. They all return values that are inserted into an identity column. Earlier in SQL Server 7 we used to use @@IDENTITY to return the last inserted identity value because those days we don’t have functions like SCOPE_IDENTITY or IDENT_CURRENT but now we have these three functions. So let’s check out which one responsible for what. IDENT_CURRENT returns the last inserted identity value in a particular table. It never depends on a connection or the scope of the insert statement. IDENT_CURRENT function takes a table name as parameter. Here is the syntax to get the last inserted identity value in a particular table using IDENT_CURRENT function. SELECT IDENT_CURRENT('Employee') Both the @@IDENTITY and SCOPE_IDENTITY return the last inserted identity value created in any table in the current session. But there is little difference between these two i.e. SCOPE_IDENTITY returns value inserted only within the current scope whereas @@IDENTITY is not limited to any particular scope.   I am reading this book. The author is trying to model a lesson in a college. The goal is to output the Lesson Type (Lecture or Seminar), and the Charges for the lesson depending on whether it is a hourly or fixed price lesson. So the output should be: lesson charge 20. Charge type: hourly rate. lesson type seminar. lesson charge 30. Charge type: fixed rate. lesson type lecture. What problems do you think might arise in the future that I have not foreseen?

• My EEEPc 900HA won't turn on/boot. Can it be fixed or does it need to be sent in?

  My EEEPc 900HA stopped booting up out of nowhere. It went to sleep and when I went to wake it up, it wouldn't wake up. I powered down and went to power back up, but no go. The power light comes on solid and the battery/corded power light blinks consistently. There is no HDD activity or light activity. No BIOS. Just the lights described. I've troubleshooted the RAM, HDD, and internal power connections and everything checked out both on battery power and corded power. I've also reset the CMOS to no avail. What else can I do?

• Saving in mongoDb with Mongoose, unexpected elements saved

  When I write in my mongoDB with mongoose the operation is treated with success, my document is saved, but there is also all kind of weird other sutff written down. It seems to be mongoose code. What could cause this? I add stuff in a specific array with: resultReference.ref[arrayLocation].allEvents.push(theEvent); {id: 11, allEvents: [] } is the structure of a ref element, and I push theEvent in the allEvents array. I then resultReference.save() I use express, mongoose and mongoHQ for database. I tried on a local mongo server, and this annoyance is still there. • Excel 2010 - more than 1 calculation within an IF() statement

  I have a situation where I need to calculate shipping values based on the length of the supply chain. Easy, however I need to have instances where an increased amount is required based on specific date criteria. My example is as follows: Shipvalue = 100 Date1 = 1/1/2013 (Jan) - ship 50% more than usual Date2 = 2/1/2013 (Feb) - ship 25% more than usual Date3 = 3/1/2013 (Mar) - ship 25% more than usual Supply chain length is: June - October 100 days November - March 140 days April - June 100 days The issue I have is that as there is an increase in the number of days, my formula: IF( Date1-(Supply chain length + any extra days)=today's date, shipvalue+(shipvalue X 50%), IF( Date2-(Supply chain length + any extra days)=today's date, shipvalue+(shipvalue x 50%) IF( Date2-(Supply chain length + any extra days)=today's date, shipvalue+(shipvalue x 50%), IF( preceding cell<>0,shipvalue, 0) ) ) ) Now the problem with this is that if the length of the supply chain increases then the formula misses all but the 1st increase. So, I thought of adding a variable that would be incremented and checked every time you made an increased shipping amount. So, how do I do both the calculation for the increased shipping value, and set the variable in one part of the IF statement?

  Hi! D6 prof. Formerly we used DBISAM and DBISAMTable. That handle the RecNo, and it is working good with modifications (Delete, edit, etc). Now we replaced with ElevateDB, that don't handle RecNo, and many times we use Queries, not Tables. Query must reopen to see the modifications. But if we Reopen the Query, we need to repositioning to the last record. Locate isn't enough, because Grid is show it in another Row. This is very disturbing thing, because after the modification record is moving into another row, you hard to follow it, and users hate this. We found this code: function TBaseDBGrid.GetActRow: integer; begin Result := -1 + Row; end; procedure TBasepDBGrid.SetActRow(aRow: integer); var bm : TBookMark; begin if IsDataSourceValid(DataSource) then with DataSource.DataSet do begin bm := GetBookmark; DisableControls; try MoveBy(-aRow); MoveBy(aRow); //GotoBookmark(bm); finally FreebookMark(bm); EnableControls; end; end; end; The original example is uses moveby. This working good with Queries, because we cannot see that Query reopened in the background, the visual control is not changed the row position. But when we have EDBTable, or Live/Sensitive Query, the MoveBy is dangerous to use, because if somebody delete or append a new row, we can relocate into wrong record. Then I tried to use the BookMark (see remark). But this technique isn't working, because it is show the record in another Row position... So the question: how to force both the row position and record in DBGrid? Or what kind of DBGrid can relocate to the record/row after the underlying DataSet refreshed? I search for user friendly solution, I understand them, because I tried to use this jump-across DBGrid, and very bad to use, because my eyes are getting out when try to find the original record after update... :-( Thanks for your every help, link, info: dd

• AutoScaleMode problems with changed default font

  Hi, I have some problems with the Form.AutoScaleMode property together with fixed size controls, when using a non-default font. I boiled it down to a simple test application (WinForms 2.0) with only one form, some fixed size controls and the following properties: class Form1 : Form { // ... private void InitializeComponent() { // ... this.AutoScaleDimensions = new System.Drawing.SizeF(96F, 96F); this.AutoScaleMode = System.Windows.Forms.AutoScaleMode.Dpi; this.Font = new System.Drawing.Font("Tahoma", 9.25F); // ... } } Under 96dpi, Windows XP, the form looks correctly like this 96 dpi example. Under 120 dpi, Windows XP, the the Windows Forms autoscaling feature produces this 120 dpi example. As you can see, groupboxes, buttons, list or tree views are scaled correctly, multiline text boxes get too big in the vertical axis, and a fixed size label does not scale correctly in both vertical and horizontal direction. Seems to be bug in the .NET framework? Using the default font (Microsoft Sans Serif 8.25pt), this problem does not occur. Using AutoScaleMode=Font (with adequate AutoScaleDimensions, of course) either does not scale at all or scales exactly like seen above, depending on when the Font is set (before or after the change of AutoScaleMode). The problem is not specific to the "Tahoma" Font, it occurs also with Microsoft Sans Serif, 9.25pt. And yes, i already read this SO post http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2114857/high-dpi-problems but it does not really help me. Any suggestions how to come around this? EDIT: I changed my image hoster, hope this one works better. EDIT2: Some additional information about my intention: I have about 50 already working fixed size dialogs with several hundreds of properly placed, fixed size controls. They were migrated from an older C++ GUI framework to C#/Winforms, that's why they are all fixed-size. All of them look fine with 96 dpi using a 9.25pt font. Under the old framework, scaling to 120 dpi worked fine - all fixed size controls scaled equal in both dimensions. Last week, we detected this strange scaling behaviour under WinForms when switching to 120 dpi. You can imagine that most of our dialogs now look very bad under 120 dpi. We are looking for a solution that avoids a complete redesign all those dialogs.
