Am unable to add elements to a dropdown list via Javascript.
The below piece of code works in IE and Chrome, but not in firefox.
ddlId.add(new Option("",0));
In firefox, I keep getting an 'Not enough arguments' exception. Any idea on how to resolve it? Thanks
I'm trying to clean some html text with javascript, there are white spaces included before and after some words (text is poorly formatted).
Currently I have this regex:
$("#" + target + " *").replaceText(/([\S][ְ-ׄ]*)/gi, '$1');
This will capture all the non white-space characters and wrap them in a span element, but will not capture spaces between words (I need the span).
How would you solve this?
I am new to the lower level useful functions of JavaScript, and I find myself needing to compare two date objects, but within an hourly range. For example, if Date1 is less then two hours until (or from) Date2. How could this be done?
hi,
I'm using the following lines to store the location of an object.
var lightboxTop = $('#lightbox').css('top');
var lightboxLeft = $('#lightbox').css('
left');
I'm successively moving this object in my element, and I want to restore it previous position with the stored variables.
But, I'm afraid javascript is saving the values by reference so I lose the initial positions. Am I correct ? How can I solve this ?
thanks
Is it possible to resize a background image on load using javascript? I don't care about dynamically resizing the image according to window size or anything, I just want to take large images and resize them to a specific width and height so that the full image fits inside a specific layout.
Hello all,
How do I remove numbers from a string using Javascript?
I am not very good with regex at all but I think I can use with replace to achieve the above?
It would actually be great if there was something JQuery offered already to do this?
//Something Like this??
var string = 'All23';
string.replace('REGEX', '');
I appreciate any help on this.
Hi,
I'd like to mimick iPhone main screen in JavaScript on Safari / Chrome / Firefox.
By mimicking I mean:
- Having a couple of pages
- Switching between the pages by clicking & dragging / swiping with my mouse
- Having those dots from the bottom iPhone main screen displaying which page it is
The closest to what I want is:
http://jquery.hinablue.me/jqiphoneslide/
But the sliding doesn't work nearly as good as in iPhone (i have to slide first, and the animation appears after i release the mouse button), and there are no dots at the bottom.
Hi,
Is there anyway in JavaScript which emulate user clicks an anchor?
Mozilla(Firefox ) does not implement that.
https://developer.mozilla.org/en/DOM/element.click
But is there any browser which does?

I am trying to make a javascript function (although jquery is perfectly OK) that will return a number that corresponds to the number of checkboxes checked in a form. Seems simple enough but I can't figure out a good way of doing it.
Thanks.
I'd like to create a JavaScript web app that makes blocks appear on the page that can be dragged around by the user. If I used DIVs with background colors, it would be easy to rotate them by 90 degrees at a time.
However, if I wanted to rotate them arbitrarily, how could I accomplish this? I'd rather not have to resort to Flash, images, or HTML5.
Hi,
I need to run a javascript function when the update panel is loaded completely(I want to scroll), and not on initial page load.
Please suggest.
Thanks
How come this pop-up gets a size other than what I have specified, when testing it in IE6 and FireFox 3.6? Firefox displays it correctly but IE6 is smaller for some reason. (620x530 instead) How can I fix it?

Currently I'm using the following as a bookmark in Firefox 3.6.3. It redirects me to the RFC just fine, but the active tab says [object Window]. What do I need to do to get rid of that artifact?
javascript:var rfc=prompt("RFC Number");window.open("http://ietf.org/rfc/rfc" + rfc + ".txt")
Django-compress is great, but it doesn't offer any tags for compressing in-page javascript.
Are there some solutions out there? Even removing newlines (and adding ";" where needed) would be just great.
i have this small javascript code which i need some help with.
function doFocus(text) {
if (text.value == "Enter Name") {
text.value = "Student Name -"
}
}
All i need here is when someone clicks on my textbox, the text "Student Name -" should change its color, and should text-align=left. so text.color and text.align or the appropriate sytax.
