  • how to detect an IMAPMessage is not an email but a Task or Calendar item

    - by raticulin
    I am accessing Lotus and Groupwise using javamail via IMAP, recursively accessing all folders and processing email I find. But in folders like Tasklist and Calendar (those are from Groupwise but I think I remember Lotus had similar things), I get the items in there as instances of IMAPMessage, and so they are processed as if they were mail. I understand those items get exposed as mail through the IMAP protocol (either by design or by mistake), but I only want to process proper mail. Is there a way to do this? I have dismissed following approaches so far: Make sure the message has a message-id, at least in Groupwise Calendar items have it. Ignore folders by name (such as Calendar and Tasklist): is not totally correct as a user can move mail inside those folders. What I am looking is some IMAP api call I have missed so far or something in those lines...

  • Sending email from Drupal contact form, but GMail marks it as "Forged"

    - by James Shields
    Hi, My Drupal site sends email to a GMail account, but the emails sent all go into the Spam folder, and GMail puts up a bar with the message "This message was likely forged and did not originate from your account." Although I can create a filter to prevent them going to Spam, I want to start sending newsletters, and I suspect they'll have the same problem. I suspect the problem is with the way I've set up either PHP or Drupal to send mail. As far as I know it's just using the sendmail function. I've set the from address to "info@..." where ... is the site domain. Any tips on how I can make set up my outgoing mail so it won't be refused by GMail (and presumably other major mail providers)? Thanks, James

  • Customised email alerts through MailChimp API

    - by user1293351
    I am building a site that runs an automated process every 30 minutes to match up new flights with their respective user. Once this process is completed I want to email the flight details out to the respective user. However the flight info will be different for every single user with their being 0-300+ potential emails. Is this something that the MailChimp API will allow or do? I found this page http://apidocs.mailchimp.com/api/how-to/transactional-campaigns.php which I am not sure if this effects me. Is the STS more suited to this? http://apidocs.mailchimp.com/sts/1.0/ Thanks Alex

  • Paid service that will bulk convert HTML and text to PDF?

    - by SCS
    We have a repository of documents in HTML and text that we're looking to get into PDF format, but my boss (another developer) feels that writing this portion of the application will detract from the main development that we're doing at the moment. Is anyone aware of any services that will be able to do bulk conversions of these documents to PDF? Any services that will also provide thumbnails for the documents is something we're looking for as well.

  • Trouble getting email attachment from Exchange

    - by JimR
    I am getting the error message “The remote server returned an error: (501) Not Implemented.” when I try to use the HttpWebRequest.GetResponse() using the GET Method to get an email attachment from exchange. I have tried to change the HttpVersion and don’t think it is a permissions issue since I can search the inbox. I know my credentials are correct as they are used to get HREF using the HttpWebRequest.Method = Search on the inbox (https://mail.mailserver.com/exchange/testemailaccount/Inbox/). HREF = https://mail.mailserver.com/exchange/testemailaccount/Inbox/testemail.EML/attachment.csv Sample Code: HttpWebRequest req = (System.Net.HttpWebRequest) HttpWebRequest.CreateHREF); req.Method = "GET"; req.Credentials = this.mCredentialCache; string data = string.Empty; using (WebResponse resp = req.GetResponse()) { Encoding enc = Encoding.Default; if (resp == null) { throw new Exception("Response contains no information."); } using (StreamReader sr = new StreamReader(resp.GetResponseStream(), Encoding.ASCII)) { data = sr.ReadToEnd(); } }

  • Sending an email when an Exception is Thrown

    - by hariubc
    Hi: I have written a java class where if a method throws an exception, an email is sent, via java mail, with a report to the administrators. It works - my question is w.r.t elegance - to catch the exception thrown by the main method, the sendEmail() method resides in the catch block of the main method. The sendEmail() method has its own try-catch block. In effect - it looks like below - is there a more beautiful way of writing this? try { foo; } catch { try{ sendEmail(); } catch { log(e.message); } }

  • [PHP] Sending Email Notification in Facebook JavaScript API

    - by Veera
    I'm trying to send a email notification to the user from my Facebook application. I'm trying to use the FaceBook JavaScript API function notifications_sendEmail(Array recipients, String subject, String text, String fbml, Object onRequestCompleted) I can understand the first four parameters. But what's the usage of the last parameter 'onRequestCompleted'. The Doc says it's the call back function. But, what if I do not want to execute a call back function? In this case, what will be a valid values to the parameter onRequestCompleted?

  • Unread email notifier, most practical approach

    - by Michael Pasqualone
    I'm in the process of writing a small php-cli script that will loop over over my personal inbox and then send me an SMS via a gateway. The question I have is: As will have the script launch via cron every 10 minutes, if there is an email sitting in my inbox that is not read before the next script launch then I will receive 2 sms. Does any one (pseudocode will do) have any idea what the best practice would be in php5 to ensure only 1 SMS is sent? What I am currently learning towards is towards storing the message ID in a sqlite DB and flagging a field whether an SMS has been sent or not - but wondering if there is an easier way?

  • OpenSSL in C++ email client - server closes connection with TLSv1 Alert message

    - by mice
    My app connects to a IMAP email server. One client configured his server to reject SSLv2 certificates, and now my app fails to connect to the server. All other email clients connect to this server successfully. My app uses openssl. I debugged by creating minimal openssl client and attempt to connect to the server. Below is the code with connects to the mail server (using Windows sockets, but same problem is with unix sockets). Server sends its initial IMAP greeting message, but after client sends 1st command, server closes connection. In Wireshark, I see that after sending command to server, it returns TLSv1 error message 21 (Encrypted Alert) and connection is gone. I'm looking for proper setup of OpenSSL for this connection to succeed. Thanks #include <stdio.h> #include <memory.h> #include <errno.h> #include <sys/types.h> #include <winsock2.h> #include <openssl/crypto.h> #include <openssl/x509.h> #include <openssl/pem.h> #include <openssl/ssl.h> #include <openssl/err.h> #define CHK_NULL(x) if((x)==NULL) exit(1) #define CHK_ERR(err,s) if((err)==-1) { perror(s); exit(1); } #define CHK_SSL(err) if((err)==-1) { ERR_print_errors_fp(stderr); exit(2); } SSL *ssl; char buf[4096]; void write(const char *s){ int err = SSL_write(ssl, s, strlen(s)); printf("> %s\n", s); CHK_SSL(err); } void read(){ int n = SSL_read(ssl, buf, sizeof(buf) - 1); CHK_SSL(n); if(n==0){ printf("Finished\n"); exit(1); } buf[n] = 0; printf("%s\n", buf); } void main(){ int err=0; SSLeay_add_ssl_algorithms(); SSL_METHOD *meth = SSLv23_client_method(); SSL_load_error_strings(); SSL_CTX *ctx = SSL_CTX_new(meth); CHK_NULL(ctx); WSADATA data; WSAStartup(0x202, &data); int sd = socket(AF_INET, SOCK_STREAM, IPPROTO_TCP); CHK_ERR(sd, "socket"); struct sockaddr_in sa; memset(&sa, 0, sizeof(sa)); sa.sin_family = AF_INET; sa.sin_addr.s_addr = inet_addr("195.137.27.14"); sa.sin_port = htons(993); err = connect(sd,(struct sockaddr*) &sa, sizeof(sa)); CHK_ERR(err, "connect"); /* ----------------------------------------------- */ /* Now we have TCP connection.   • Wrapping mailmessage headers in .net for Sendgrid

    - by mickyjtwin
    Am using SendGrid for some email notifications, specifically utilising their SMTP API's. While they have PHP examples, c# is not so helpful. Essentially, a json string is built that contains the to email addresses, and other custom filters etc, which is then added to a MailMessage header to send. // json string example {"to":["[email protected]", [email protected]", "", ""],"sub":{"<name>":["Name1", Name2"]}} MailMessage m = new MailMessage("[email protected]", "[email protected]"); m.Headers.Add("X-SMTPAPI", jsonString); The problem I am having is that for some MTA's, headers can only be 1000 characters long, and also quoted-principle encoding required only 76 character per line. In their php example, they are splitting the string and adding a linebreak (\n) every 72 characters. While I am doing this in .NET, I am receiving a invalid character exception. After some digging, it seems that pre-.NET4.0 Beta2 MailMessage will not process CLLR characters. Sengrid support is not proving helpful, and looking at ways to make this work?

  • Extremely slow MFMailComposeViewControllerDelegate

    - by Jeff B
    I have a bit of a strange problem. I am trying to send in-app email. I am also using Cocos2d. It works, so far as I get the mail window and I can send mail, but it is extremely slow. It seems to only accept touches every second or so. I checked the cpu usage, and it is quite low. I paused my director, so nothing else should be happening. Any ideas? I am pulling my hair out. I looked at some examples and did the following: Made my scene the mail delegate: @interface MyLayer : CCLayer <MFMailComposeViewControllerDelegate> { ... } And implemented the following function in the scenes: -(void) showEmailWindow: (id) sender { [[CCDirector sharedDirector] pause]; MFMailComposeViewController *picker = [[MFMailComposeViewController alloc] init]; picker.mailComposeDelegate = self; [picker setSubject: @"My subject here"]; NSString *emailBody = @"<h1>Here is my email!</h1>"; [picker setMessageBody:emailBody isHTML:YES]; [myMail presentModalViewController:picker animated:NO]; [picker release]; } I also implemented the mailComposeController, to handle the callback.

  • passing java mail message object from between applications

    - by jezhilvalan
    I'm using java mail api 1.4.1 to obtain new emails. Two classes are being used to obtain emails and then parsing it. "GetMail" class communicates with mail server(Gmail,yahoo etc) and obtains the message object. Then the message object is passed to yet another class "MailFormatter" class, which then parses the message object, obtains the email headers (From,To,Subject etc) and then it parses the Multipart content to obtain the main body and attachments.Since both "Mail getting" and "Mail formatting" process are very resource intensive, these classes are going to be implemented as separate web applications.This application is going to monitor new emails for numerous email ids.If these ("GetMail" and "MailFormatter") are implemented as separate web applications, how can I pass the message object from "GetMail" app to "MailFormatter" app ? Is there a way through which I can persist the obtained message object in a certain location (a location which is common to both "GetMail" and "MailFormatter" applications), so that "GetMail" can persist the message object in that location, and then "MailFormatter" app can read "Message" objects from that location and carry out the parsing process. Message objects cannot be serialized. If they cannot be serialized how can I persist the state of java mail message object? please do help me to resolve this issue.

  • sending mail in rails from tutorial - outdated?

    - by Stacia
    I'm trying to use this tutorial (http://www.tutorialspoint.com/ruby-on-rails-2.1/rails-send-emails.htm) to send mail on rails, but nothing seems to happen. I have ActionMailer::Base.delivery_method = :sendmail in my environment.rb. It's possible the tutorial may be out of date for the more recent version of rails? If so can someone tell me where it goes wrong or a link to another tutorial. I see this in the log. It's a little supsicious that the "to" has subject and stuff appended to it, but I don't know where it went wrong. • Execute codes in a different page but remain on the same actual php page

    - by chupinette
    I have a complicated problem here..I have codes to send mail using PEAR which i have tested in a php page called testmail.php. Now i have my actual application an a page called Cart.php where i have a button called Place Order. When i click on this button, it actually redirects to a url called : http://localhost/final/index.php?OrderSuccessful which actually displays a message on the page and sends an email. The problem is that when i put the code for email in Cart.php, i get errors. But when i put the url http://localhost/final/testmail.php it actually works. So i was thinking, is there a way to execute the codes from that testmail.php by remaining on the page Cart.php? include('Mail.php'); $mail = Mail::factory("mail"); $headers = array("From"=>"[email protected]", "Subject"=>"Your order has been placed "); $body = "lol"; $mail->send("[email protected]", $headers, $body); I get the error Assigning the return value of new by reference is deprecated
