• Connecting to internet via phone on Linux

  I have a Sony Ericsson C702 phone with a flat fee internet subscription (GPRS/UMTS). I'd like to connect my Linux (Kubuntu 9.04) laptop to internet via this phone, using bluetooth (I also have a cable connection but that's propietary, doubt it'll work). How can I do this, preferably via GUI / NetworkManager / the BT applet that comes with KDE? In Windows I use SE's PC suite software which works great, but is not available for Linux.

  Hi, I want to connect to the SSH server on my jailbreaked iPhone via the USB connection (because that connection is much faster than WLAN) from MacOSX. Right now I am using this: http://novis.jimdo.com/2009/10/18/ssh-relay-aka-iphone-tunnel-version-3/ However, this is really buggy and always breaks when I am transfering a lot of data. Does anyone know a better solution? Preferable one that is free.

  Hello, I'm looking for a windows tool that can tell me who is using bandwith. As of now I've setup so that the switch where all pcs are connected, mirrors the router's traffic to my pc, meaning that from my NIC I am able to see all outgoing and incoming internet connections. This works, I have used NIMAS (http://www.vmware.com/appliances/directory/200) and I am able to see internet traffic. Now what I am looking for is something even more simple, where I can see what computers are using what banwidth, live.

• Connection error when trying to browse SSAS cube in BIDS

  SQL Server 2008 db instance is installed on a win 2003 server, networked (but no domain) VM. I can browse a cube from BIDS on the same VM, but when I try to browse the same cube on a windows 7 (home premium) networked machine, I get a connection error. The error suggests checking the datasource settings which I have, and when I click "test connection" on the datasource it is successful. Looking for probably causes and solutions?

  Hi, I am trying to control a desktop (HTPC) using my laptop. I currently use Teamviewer, but it is pretty slow. I used to use window remote desktop connection and it was pretty fast. The problem with window remote desktop connection is that it does not support realtime. By "Realtime", I mean it does not display what I am doing on the computer being controlled. Any suggestions?

  When working from Windows, I prefer to use RoyalTS instead of the default Microsoft RDP client, because it allows me to save multiple connections, the credentials of the connection, etc; as well has having more than 1 connection open at a time. Is there a similar (or any) alternative to the Microsoft RDP client for connecting from OSX to Windows? Aside from VNC, that is; at this point I'm hoping to continue using the RDP protocol.

The problem is - Internet Connection a bit slower than usual Limit connectivity issue I use netsh reset for resetting network configurations but it helps sometimes or not help at all. Any ideas?   When I am trying to connect to a MySQL database from a remote computer I get a prompt saying: Connection Failed: [HY000] [MySQL][ODBC 5.1 Driver]Can't Connect to MySQL server on 'XXX.XXX.XX.XX' (10060) I have created a user account in the MySQL Administrator and added a host to enable remote access, I have also made an exception for my Windows Firewall on port 3306 but the connection still fails.   I have an OpenSwan IPSec + L2TP VPN on Linux setup working from off of my server so I can connect to it from my laptop (roadwarrior setup). I am able to connect to the VPN remotely just fine, however the internet connection is not shared. I'm assuming there is some sort of masquerading I am supposed to be doing, but I have no idea how to go about doing that (iptables?). • Wireless internet became extremely slow on my 27" IMac

  The wireless internet on my Mac became extremely slow recently on my 27" IMac. I don't recall doing anything different other than doing the Apple Software updates which I let it pop up and install automatically. On my Mac Book internet is still fine so I don't think it's the model or the router. I'm not sure where to start digging the cause of this or how to solve it.
