  • Overwrite clean method in Django Custom Forms

    - by John
    Hi I have wrote a custom widget class AutoCompleteWidget(widgets.TextInput): """ widget to show an autocomplete box which returns a list on nodes available to be tagged """ def render(self, name, value, attrs=None): final_attrs = self.build_attrs(attrs, name=name) if not self.attrs.has_key('id'): final_attrs['id'] = 'id_%s' % name if not value: value = '[]' jquery = u""" <script type="text/javascript"> $("#%s").tokenInput('%s', { hintText: "Enter the word", noResultsText: "No results", prePopulate: %s, searchingText: "Searching..." }); $("body").focus(); </script> """ % (final_attrs['id'], reverse('ajax_autocomplete'), value) output = super(AutoTagWidget, self).render(name, "", attrs) return output + mark_safe(jquery) class MyForm(forms.Form): AutoComplete = forms.CharField(widget=AutoCompleteWidget) this widget uses a jquery function which autocompletes a word based on entries from the database. You can preset its initial values by setting prePopulate to a json string in the form ['name': 'some name', 'id': 'some id'] I do this by setting the inital value of the form field to this json string jquery_string = ['name': 'some name', 'id': 'some id'] form = MyForm(initial={'AutoComplete':jquery_string}) When submitting the form the the value of AutoComplete is returned as a comma seperated list of the selected ids e.g. 12,45,43,66 which if what I want. However if there is an error in the form, for example a required field has not been entered the value of the AutoComplete field is now 12,45,43,66 and not the json string which it requires. What is the best way to solve this. I was thinking about overwriting the clean method in the form class but I'm not sure how to find out if any other element has returned an error. e.g. if forms.errors form.cleaned_date['autocomplete'] = json string return form.cleaned_data Thanks

  • Javascript - jquery ajax post error driving me mad

    - by Exception Duck
    Can't seem to figure this one out. I have a web service defined as (c#,.net) [WebMethod] public string SubmitOrder(string sessionid, string lang,int invoiceno,string email,string emailcc) { //do stuff. return stuff; } Which works fine, when I test it from the autogenerated test thingy in Vstudio. But when I call it from jquery as $j.ajax({ type: "POST", url: "/wservice/baby.asmx/SubmitOrder", data: "{'sessionid' : '"+sessionid+"',"+ "'lang': '"+usersettings.Currlang+"',"+ "'invoiceno': '"+invoicenr+"',"+ "'email':'"+$j(orderids.txtOIEMAIL).val()+"',"+ "'emailcc':'"+$j(orderids.txtOICC).val()+"'}", contenttype: "application/json; charset=utf-8", datatype: "json", success: function (msg) { submitordercallback(msg); }, error: AjaxFailed }); I get this fun error: responseText: System.InvalidOperationException: Missing parameter: sessionid. at System.Web.Services.Protocols.ValueCollectionParameterReader.Read(NameValueCollection collection) at System.Web.Services.Protocols.HtmlFormParameterReader.Read(HttpRequest request) at System.Web.Services.Protocols.HttpServerProtocol.ReadParameters() at System.Web.Services.Protocols.WebServiceHandler.CoreProcessRequest() data evaluates to: {'sessionid' : 'f61f8da737c046fea5633e7ec1f706dd','lang': 'SE','invoiceno': '11867','email':'[email protected]','emailcc':''} Ok, fair enough, but this function from jquery communicates fine with another webservice. Defined: c#: [WebMethod] public string CheckoutClicked(string sessionid,string lang) { //*snip* //jquery: var divCheckoutClicked = function() { $j.ajax({ type: "POST", url: "/wservice/baby.asmx/CheckoutClicked", data: "{'sessionid': '"+sessionid+"','lang': '"+usersettings.Currlang+"'}", contentType: "application/json; charset=utf-8", dataType: "json", success: function (msg) { divCheckoutClickedCallback(msg); }, error: AjaxFailed }); }

  • jQuery AJAX slow in Firefox, fast in IE

    - by Brandon Montgomery
    I'm using jQuery to post to an ASP .NET Web Service to implement a custom auto-complete function. The code works great, except it's slow in FireFox (can't get it to go faster than 1 second). IE is blazing fast - works great. I watch the post in Firefox using Firebug. Here's the service code: <ScriptService(), _ WebService(Namespace:="http://tempuri.org/"), _ WebServiceBinding(ConformsTo:=WsiProfiles.BasicProfile1_1), _ ToolboxItem(False)> _ Public Class TestWebSvc Inherits System.Web.Services.WebService <WebMethod(), _ ScriptMethod(ResponseFormat:=Script.Services.ResponseFormat.Json, UseHttpGet:=True)> _ Public Function GetAccounts(ByVal q As String) As Object 'Code taken out for simplicity Return result End Function End Class And the jQuery ajax call: $.ajax({ beforeSend: function (req) { req.setRequestHeader("Content-Type", "application/json"); }, contentType: "application/json; charset=utf-8", type: "GET", url: "http://localhost/Suggest/TestWebSvc.asmx/GetAccounts", data: "q='" + element.val() + "'", dataType: "json", success: testWebSvcSuccess }); As you can see, I've tried to use the HTTP GET verb instead in hopes that that would make the call faster. As it does not, I'll probably switch it back to using POST if I can. Right now I'm just focused on why it's super fast in IE and super slow in Firefox. Versions: jQuery 1.3.2; Firefox 3.0.11; IE 8.0.6001.18783 (64-bit) Thank you for any insight you can provide.

  • Phonegap Screenshot plugin in Cordova 2.0.0

    - by ObjectiveJ
    I have set up the screenshot plugin from github, located here: https://github.com/phonegap/phonegap-plugins/tree/master/Android/Screenshot I set it up as instructed and with 1.8.1 of cordova. It worked and the screenshot was saved to the phone. However it fails with cordova 2.0.0. Screenshot.java code: https://github.com/phonegap/phonegap-plugins/blob/master/Android/Screenshot/src/org/apache/cordova/Screenshot.java Screenshot.js code: https://github.com/phonegap/phonegap-plugins/blob/master/Android/Screenshot/www/Screenshot.js Due to the advice of a very clever man called Simon MacDonald, I removed line 31 and 38 from the JS file shown above. However when I try to use the screenshot plugin with cordova 2.0.0 I receive these errors: ERROR: org.json.JSONException: Value undefined of type java.lang.String cannot be converted to JSONArray. Error: Status=8 Message=JSON error file:///android_asset/www/cordova-2.0.0.js: Line 938 : Error: Status=8 Message=JSON error Error: Status=8 Message=JSON error at file:///android_asset_/www/cordova-2.0.0.js:938 line 938 of the cordova.js is: // If error, then display error else { console.log("Error: Status="+v.status+" Message="+v.message); but im almost certain this is a compatibility error. Does anyone know a fix for this, or even a reason. Im abit lost. Any help is appreciated. I call the screenshot.js with this code: function takeScreenShot() { cordovaRef.exec("Screenshot.saveScreenshot"); } Any help massively appreciated.

  • Using YQL multi-query & XPath to parse HTML, how to escape nested quotes?

    - by Tivac
    The title is more complicated than it has to be, here's the problem query. SELECT * FROM query.multi WHERE queries=" SELECT * FROM html WHERE url='http://www.stumbleupon.com/url/http://www.guildwars2.com' AND xpath='//li[@class=\"listLi\"]/div[@class=\"views\"]/a/span'; SELECT * FROM xml WHERE url='http://services.digg.com/1.0/endpoint?method=story.getAll&link=http://www.guildwars2.com'; SELECT * FROM json WHERE url='http://api.tweetmeme.com/url_info.json?url=http://www.guildwars2.com'; SELECT * FROM xml WHERE url='http://api.facebook.com/restserver.php?method=links.getStats&urls=http://www.guildwars2.com'; SELECT * FROM json WHERE url='http://www.reddit.com/button_info.json?url=http://www.guildwars2.com'" Specifically this line, xpath='//li[@class=\"listLi\"]/div[@class=\"views\"]/a/span' It's problematic because of the quoting, I have to nest them three levels deep and I've run out of quote characters to use. I've tried the following variations without success: //no attribute quoting xpath='//li[@class=listLi]/div[@class=views]/a/span' //try to quote attribute w/ backslash & single quote xpath='//li[@class=\'listLi\']/div[@class=\'views\']/a/span' //try to quote attribute w/ backslash & double quote xpath='//li[@class=\"listLi\"]/div[@class=\"views\"]/a/span' //try to quote attribute with double single quotes, like SQL xpath='//li[@class=''listLi'']/div[@class=''views'']/a/span' //try to quote attribute with double double quotes, like SQL xpath='//li[@class=""listLi""]/div[@class=""views""]/a/span' //try to quote attribute with quote entities xpath='//li[@class=&quot;listLi&quot;]/div[@class=&quot;views&quot;]/a/span' //try to surround XPath with backslash & double quote xpath=\"//li[@class='listLi']/div[@class='views']/a/span\" //try to surround XPath with double double quote xpath=""//li[@class='listLi']/div[@class='views']/a/span"" All without success. I don't see much out there about escaping XPath strings but everything I've found seems to be variations on using concat (which won't help because neither ' nor " are available) or html entities. Not using quotes for the attributes doesn't throw an error but fails because it's not the actual XPath string I need. I don't see anything in the YQL docs about how to handle escaping. I'm aware of how edge-casey this is but was hoping they'd have some sort of escaping guide.

  • iis7 compress dynamic content from custom handler

    - by Malloc
    I am having trouble getting dynamic content coming from a custom handler to be compressed by IIS 7. Our handler spits out json data (Content-Type: application/json; charset=utf-8) and responds to url that looks like: domain.com/example.mal/OperationName?Param1=Val1&Param2=Val2 In IIS 6, all we had to do was put the edit the MetaBase.xml and in the IIsCompressionScheme element make sure that the HcScriptFileExtensions attribute had the custom extension 'mal' included in it. Static and Dynamic compression is turned out at the server and website level. I can confirm that normal .aspx pages are compressed correctly. The only content I cannot have compressed is the content coming from the custom handler. I have tried the following configs with no success: <handlers> <add name="MyJsonService" verb="GET,POST" path="*.mal" type="Library.Web.HttpHandlers.MyJsonServiceHandlerFactory, Library.Web" /> </handlers> <httpCompression> <dynamicTypes> <add mimeType="application/json" enabled="true" /> </dynamicTypes> </httpCompression> _ <httpCompression> <dynamicTypes> <add mimeType="application/*" enabled="true" /> </dynamicTypes> </httpCompression> _ <staticContent> <mimeMap fileExtension=".mal" mimeType="application/json" /> </staticContent> <httpCompression> <dynamicTypes> <add mimeType="application/*" enabled="true" /> </dynamicTypes> </httpCompression> Thanks in advance for the help.

  • jQuery: Inserting li items one by one?

    - by Legend
    I wrote the following (part of a jQuery plugin) to insert a set of items from a JSON object into a <ul> element. ... query: function() { ... $.ajax({ url: fetchURL, type: 'GET', dataType: 'jsonp', timeout: 5000, error: function() { self.html("Network Error"); }, success: function(json) { //Process JSON $.each(json.results, function(i, item) { $("<li></li>") .html(mHTML) .attr('id', "div_li"+i) .attr('class', "divliclass") .prependTo("#" + "div_ul"); $(slotname + "div_li" + i).hide(); $(slotname + "div_li" + i).show("slow") } } }); } }); }, ... Doing this maybe adding the <li> items one by one theoretically but when I load the page, everything shows up instantaneously. Instead, is there an efficient way to make them appear one by one more slowly? I'll explain with a small example: If I have 3 items, this code is making all the 3 items appear instantaneously (at least to my eyes). I want something like 1 fades in, then 2 fades in, then 3 (something like a newsticker perhaps). Anyone has a suggestion?

  • How to build Graceful Degradation AJAX web page?

    - by Morgan Cheng
    I want to build web page with "Graceful Degradation". That is, the web page functions even javascript is disabled. Now I have to make design decision on the format of AJAX response. If javascript is disabled, each HTTP request to server will generate HTML as response. The browser refreshes with the returned HTML. That's fine. If javascript is enabled, each AJAX HTTP request to server will generate ... well, JSON or HTML. If it is HTML, it is easy to implement. Just have javascript to replace part of page with the returned HTML. And, in server side, not much code change is needed. If it is JSON, then I have to implement JSON-to-html logic in javascript again which is almost duplicate of server side logic. Duplication is evil. I really don't like it. The benefit is that the bandwidth usage is better than HTML, which brings better performance. So, what's the best solution to Graceful Degradation? AJAX request better to return JSON or HTML?

  • Azure SDK causes Node.js service bus call to run slow

    - by PazoozaTest Pazman
    I am using this piece of code to call the service bus queue from my node.js server running locally using web matrix, I have also upload to windows azure "web sites" and it still performs slowly. var sb1 = azure.createServiceBusService(config.serviceBusNamespace, config.serviceBusAccessKey); sbMessage = { "Entity": { "SerialNumbersToCreate": '0', "SerialNumberSize": config.usageRates[3], "BlobName": 'snvideos' + channel.ChannelTableName, "TableName": 'snvideos' + channel.ChannelTableName } }; sb1.getQueue('serialnumbers', function(error, queue){ if (error === null){ sb1.sendQueueMessage('serialnumbers', JSON.stringify(sbMessage), function(error) { if (!error) res.send(req.query.callback + '({data: ' + JSON.stringify({ success: true, video: newVideo }) + '});'); else res.send(req.query.callback + '({data: ' + JSON.stringify({ success: false }) + '});'); }); } else res.send(req.query.callback + '({data: ' + JSON.stringify({ success: false }) + '});'); }); It can be up to 5 seconds before the server responds back to the client with the return result. When I comment out the sb1.getQueue('serialnumbers', function(error, queue){ and just have it return without sending a queue message it performs in less than 1 second. Why is that? Is my approach to using the azure sdk service bus correct? Any help would be appreciated.

  • Have error message show when form is created through AJAX

    - by Railslearner
    I have a page called /add that you can add a Dog on and the form is in its own partial. I'm using Simple Form and Twitter Bootstrap. I added the files for the main Bootstrap but use a gem for simple_form to work with it just so you know. DogsController # new.js.erb (deleted new.html.erb) def new @dog = Dog.new respond_to do |format| format.js end end # create.js.erb def create @dog = current_user.dogs.new(params[:dog]) respond_to do |format| if @dog.save format.html { redirect_to add_url, notice: 'Dog was successfully added.' } format.json { render json: @dog, status: :created, location: @dog} format.js else format.html { render 'pages/add' } format.json { render json: @dog.errors, status: :unprocessable_entity } end end end dogs/_form.html.erb <%= simple_form_for(@dog, :remote => true) do |f| %> <%= render :partial => "shared/error_message", :locals => { :f => f } %> <%= f.input :name %> <%= f.button :submit, 'Done' %> <% end %> This line: <%= render :partial => "shared/error_message", :locals => { :f => f } %> Is for bootstrap so it renders the errors html correctly. PagesController def add respond_to do |format| format.html end end pages/add.html.erb <div id="generate-form"> </div> dogs/new.js.erb $("#generate-form").html("<%= escape_javascript(render(:partial => 'dogs/form', locals: { dog: @dog })) %>"); Now how would I get this to render the error partial as if it was still on my dogs/new.html.erb since its being created through AJAX? I don't need client side validations do I?

  • Best strategy for moving data between physical tiers in ASP.net

    - by Pete Lunenfeld
    Building a new ASP.net application, and planning to separate DB, 'service' tier and Web/UI tier into separate physical layers. What is the best/easiest strategy to move serialized objects between the service tier and the UI tier? I was considering serializing POCOs into JSON using simple ASP.net pages to serve the middle tier. Meaning that the UI/Web tier will request data from a (hidden to the outside user) web server that will return a JSON string. This kind of JSON 'emitter' seems easily testable. It also seems easily compressible for efficiently moving data over the WAN between tiers. I know that some folks use .asmx webservices for this kind of task, but this seems like there is excess overhead with SOAP, and the package is not as human readable (testable) as POCOs serialized as JSON. Others are using more complex technology like WCF which we have never used. Does anyone have advice for choosing a method for moving data/objects between the data (db) tier and the web (UI) tier over the WAN using .net technologies? Thanks!!!

    I'm trying to make a login page using html, ajax & ASP.NET.The data is truly passed to the ajax function, but when I debug the asp page the username and password are sent with NULL. The code is supposed to take username & password then returns the userid Html page: <div id="usernameid">Username:</div><input id="username" type="text"/> <span id="username_status"></span> <div id="passwordid">Password:</div><input id="password" type="password"/> <span id="password_status"></span> <div> <input id="loginbutton" onclick="UserLogin()" type="submit" value="Submit" /></div> Javascript: function UserLogin() { var postData = JSON.stringify({ "username": JSON.stringify($("#username").val()), "password": JSON.stringify($("#password").val()) }); alert(postData); $.ajax({ type: "GET", url: "http://localhost:49317/LoginPageForLearn.aspx", data: postData, contentType: "application/json; charset=utf-8", dataType: "jsonp", jsonp: 'jsoncallback', success: callbackfunction, error: function (msg) { alert(msg); } }); } Asp.net page: protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) { string userName = ""; int userId = -1; string PassWord = ""; if (Request.QueryString.Count != 0 && Request.QueryString["username"] != string.Empty && Request.QueryString["password"] != string.Empty) { userName = Request.QueryString["username"]; PassWord = Request.QueryString["password"]; userId = GetUserID(userName, PassWord); } } Do you have any ideas why isn't the data passed correctly ? Or do you have any other ideas on how can I make a login page using html and access the data at SQL. Thanks a lot.

  • Closing InfoWindow with Google Maps API V3

    - by Oscar Godson
    I've seen the other posts, but they dont have the markers being looped through dynamically like mine. How do I create an event that will close the infowindow when another marker is clicked on using the following code? $(function(){ var latlng = new google.maps.LatLng(45.522015,-122.683811); var settings = { zoom: 10, center: latlng, disableDefaultUI:false, mapTypeId: google.maps.MapTypeId.SATELLITE }; var map = new google.maps.Map(document.getElementById("map_canvas"), settings); $.getJSON('api',function(json){ for (var property in json) { if (json.hasOwnProperty(property)) { var json_data = json[property]; var the_marker = new google.maps.Marker({ title:json_data.item.headline, map:map, clickable:true, position:new google.maps.LatLng( parseFloat(json_data.item.geoarray[0].latitude), parseFloat(json_data.item.geoarray[0].longitude) ) }); function buildHandler(map, marker, content) { return function() { var infowindow = new google.maps.InfoWindow({ content: '<div class="marker"><h1>'+content.headline+'</h1><p>'+content.full_content+'</p></div>' }); infowindow.open(map, marker); }; } new google.maps.event.addListener(the_marker, 'click',buildHandler(map, the_marker, {'headline':json_data.item.headline,'full_content':json_data.item.full_content})); } } }); });

  • translate a PHP $string using google translator API

    - by Toni Michel Caubet
    hey there! been google'ing for a while how is the best way to translate with google translator in PHP, found very different ways converting URLS, or using Js but i want to do it only with php (or with a very simple solution JS/JQUery) example: //hopefully with $from_lan and $to_lan being like 'en','de', .. or similar function translate($from_lan, $to_lan, $text){ // do return $translated_text; } can you give me a clue? or maybe you already have this function.. my intention it's to use it only for the languages i have not already defined (or keys i haven't defined), that's why i wan it so simple, will be only temporal.. EDIT thanks for your replies we are now trying this soulutions: function auto_translate($from_lan, $to_lan, $text){ // do $json = json_decode(file_get_contents('https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/services/language/translate?v=1.0&q=' . urlencode($text) . '&langpair=' . $from_lan . '|' . $to_lan)); $translated_text = $json->responseData->translatedText; return $translated_text; } (there was a extra 'g' on variables for lang... anyway) it returns: works now :) i don't really understand much the function, so any idea why is not acepting the object? (now i do) OR: unction auto_translate($from_lan, $to_lan, $text){ // do // $json = json_decode(file_get_contents('https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/services/language/translate?v=1.0&q=' . urlencode($text) . '&langpair=' . $from_lan . '|' . $to_lan)); // $translated_text = $json['responseData']['translatedText']; error_reporting(1); require_once('GTranslate.php'); try{ $gt = new Gtranslate(); $translated_text = $gt-english_to_german($text); } catch (GTranslateException $ge) { $translated_text= $ge->getMessage(); } return $translated_text; } And this one looks great but it doesn't even gives me an error, the page won't load (error_report(1) :S) thanks in advance!

    - by kujawk
    Hi everybody, I've got a piece of code that logs into Facebook, gets a session, sets status_update and offline_access permission if they are not set, and gets a new session with the newly set permissions. This code used to work fine but now I'm getting error 100 "One of the parameters specified was missing or invalid" as a response to the second call to get session and I can't figure out why. Here's the sequence in detail: CREATE TOKEN restserver.php?method=auth.createToken&api_key=[our key]&v=1.0&format=JSON&sig=[sig created with our secret] response: new token LOGIN m.facebook.com/login.php?api_key=[our key]&v=1.0&auth_token=[token created above] login screen loads and user successfully logs in with their username/password. GET SESSION restserver.php?method=auth.getSession&api_key=[our key]&v=1.0&format=JSON&auth_token=token created above&sig=[sig created with our secret] response: session key with expiration date and a secret CHECK/AUTHORIZE PERMISSIONS restserver.php?method=users.hasAppPermission&api_key=[our key]&v=1.0&format=JSON&ext_perm=status_update&call_id=[proper id]&session_key=[key returned above]&sig=[sig created with secret returned for get session] response: 0 m.facebook.com/authorize.php?api_key=[our key]&v=1.0&ext_perm=status_update authorization screen loads and user authorizes Same steps for status_update CREATE NEW TOKEN Same steps as done to create the first token LOGIN m.facebook.com/login.php?api_key=[our key]&v=1.0&auth_token=[new token] user is already logged in, redirected to their homepage GET NEW SESSION restserver.php?method=auth.getSession&api_key=[our key]&format=JSON&auth_token=[new token]&sig=[sig created with our secret] response: error 100 - missing or invalid parameter. Of course it doesn't tell me which one. Anybody have any ideas what I'm doing wrong here? I tried skipping the second login and going right to creating the new session and that didn't work. The only thing that seems to work is logging out the user after they've authorized the permissions and having them log back in again. I'd like to avoid this if possible. Can you have two outstanding sessions at one time? This code used to work but I'm thinking maybe something changed on Facebook's end that I'm not aware of. Thanks, kris

  • SugarmCRM REST API always returns "null"

    - by TuomasR
    I'm trying to test out the SugarCRM REST API, running latest version of CE (6.0.1). It seems that whenever I do a query, the API returns "null", nothing else. If I omit the parameters, then the API returns the API description (which the documentation says it should). I'm trying to perform a login, passing as parameter the method (login), input_type and response_type (json) and rest_data (JSON encoded parameters). The following code does the query: $api_target = "http://example.com/sugarcrm/service/v2/rest.php"; $parameters = json_encode(array( "user_auth" => array( "user_name" => "admin", "password" => md5("adminpassword"), ), "application_name" => "Test", "name_value_list" => array(), )); $postData = http_build_query(array( "method" => "login", "input_type" => "json", "response_type" => "json", "rest_data" => $parameters )); echo $parameters . "\n"; echo $postData . "\n"; echo file_get_contents($api_target, false, stream_context_create(array( "http" => array( "method" => "POST", "header" => "Content-Type: application/x-www-form-urlencoded\r\n", "content" => $postData ) ))) . "\n"; I've tried different variations of parameters and using username instead of user_name, and all provide the same result, just a response "null" and that's it.

  • Javascript: How to test JSONP on localhost

    - by hqt
    Here is the way I test JSONP: I run XAMPP, and in folder htdocs I create a javascript folder . I create json1.json file contain some data to process. After that, I run this html file locally, and it will call a function in "other machine" (in this case is localhost) Here is my code : <head> <script> function updateSales(sales) { alert('test jsonp'); // real code here } </script> </head> <body> <h1>JSONP Example</h1> <script src="http://localhost:85/javascript/json1.json?callback=updateSales"></script> </body> But when I run, nothing happen. But if change to other real json on the internet, it will work. It means change line : <script src="http://localhost:85/javascript/json1.json?callback=updateSales"></script> to line: <script src="http://gumball.wickedlysmart.com/?callback=updateSales"></script> It will work smoothly. So, I don't know how to test JSONP by using localhost, please help me. Thanks :)

  • Passing javascript object to webservice via Jquery ajax

    - by kralco626
    I have a webservice that returns an object [WebMethod] public List<User> ContractorApprovals() I also have a webservice that accepcts an object [WebMethod] public bool SaveContractor(Object u) When I make my webservice calls via Jquery: function ServiceCall(method, parameters, onSucess, onFailure) { var parms = "{" + (($.isArray(parameters)) ? parameters.join(',') : parameters) + "}"; // to json $.ajax({ type: "POST", url: "services/"+method, data: parms, contentType: "application/json; charset=utf-8", dataType: "json", success: function(msg) { if (typeof onSucess == 'function' || typeof onSucess == 'object') onSucess(msg.d); }, error: function(msg, err) { $("#dialog-error").dialog('open');} }); I can call the first one just fine. My onSucess function gets passed a javascript object exactly structured like my User object on the service. However, I am now having trouble getting the object back to the server. I'm accepting Object as a parameter on the server side so I can't inagine there is an issue there. So I'm thinking something is wrong with the parms on the client side but i'm not sure what... I am doing something to the effect ServiceCall("AuthorizationManagerWorkManagement.asmx/ContractorApprovals", "", function(data,args){$("#div").data('user',data[0])}, null) then ServiceCall("AuthorizationManagerWorkManagement.asmx/SaveContractor", $("#div").data('user'), //These also do not work: "{'u': ' + $("#div").data("user") + '}", NOR JSON.stringify({u: userObject}) function(data,args){(alert(data)}, null) I know the first service call works, I can get the data. The second one is causing the "onFailure" method to execute rather then "OnSuccess". Any ideas?

  • Solved: Help with this compile error

    - by Scott
    I just picked up an old project and I'm not sure what the following error could mean. g++ -o BufferedReader.o -c -g -Wall -std=c++0x -I/usr/include/xmms2 -Ijsoncpp/include/json/ -fopenmp -I/usr/include/ImageMagick -I/usr/include/xmms2 -I/usr/include/libvisual-0.4 -D_GNU_SOURCE=1 -D_REENTRANT -I/usr/include/SDL -DQT_CORE_LIB -DQT_GUI_LIB -DQT_SCRIPT_LIB -DQT_SHARED -I/usr/include/QtCore -I/usr/include/QtGui -I/usr/include/QtScript BufferedReader.cpp In file included from BufferedReader.cpp:23: /usr/include/string.h:36:42: error: missing binary operator before token "(" In file included from /usr/lib/gcc/i686-redhat-linux/4.4.3/../../../../include/c++/4.4.3/cwchar:47, from /usr/lib/gcc/i686-redhat-linux/4.4.3/../../../../include/c++/4.4.3/bits/postypes.h:42, from /usr/lib/gcc/i686-redhat-linux/4.4.3/../../../../include/c++/4.4.3/iosfwd:42, from /usr/lib/gcc/i686-redhat-linux/4.4.3/../../../../include/c++/4.4.3/ios:39, from /usr/lib/gcc/i686-redhat-linux/4.4.3/../../../../include/c++/4.4.3/istream:40, from /usr/lib/gcc/i686-redhat-linux/4.4.3/../../../../include/c++/4.4.3/sstream:39, from BufferedReader.cpp:24: At line 24 of BufferedReader.cpp is #include <string.h>. I've tried it with just <string> but get the same thing. Any clue? Here's the snippet of code from string.h /* Tell the caller that we provide correct C++ prototypes. */ #if defined __cplusplus && __GNUC_PREREQ (4, 4) //line 36 # define __CORRECT_ISO_CPP_STRING_H_PROTO #endif Does that mean __GNUC_PREREQ isn't defined? Edit: Changing -Ijsoncpp/include/json/ to Ijsoncpp/include stopped the errors. I noticed I was including <json/json.h>. I'm about to switch to JsonGlib though, which is the reason I pulled the project up again. So it's all good. :)

  • How to get acts on taggable working

    - by Schipperius
    I am new to ruby on rails (and programming) and this is probably a really stupid question. I am using Rails 3.2 and trying to use acts_as_taggable_on to generate tags on articles and to have those tags show on article index and show pages as a clickable links. I have tags clickable on both the article show and index pages, but the links just go back to the index page and don't sort according to the tag name. I have scoured the Internet and pieced together the code below from various sources, but I am clearly missing something. Any help is greatly appreciated, as I have exhausted my seemingly limited knowledge! Thanks. Here is what I have: class ArticlesController < ApplicationController def tagged @articles = Article.all(:order => 'created_at DESC') @tags = Article.tag_counts_on(:tags) @tagged_articles = Article.tagged_with(params[:tags]) respond_to do |format| format.html # index.html.erb format.json { render :json => @articles } end end def index @article = Article.new @articles = Article.paginate :page => params[:page], :per_page => 3 @tags = Article.tag_counts_on(:tags) respond_to do |format| format.html # index.html.erb format.json { render json: @articles } end end module ArticlesHelper include ActsAsTaggableOn::TagsHelper end class Article < ActiveRecord::Base acts_as_ordered_taggable acts_as_ordered_taggable_on :tags, :location, :about attr_accessible :tag_list scope :by_join_date, order("created_at DESC") end article/index.html.erb <% tag_cloud(@tags, %w(tag1 tag2 tag3 tag4)) do |tag| %> <%= link_to tag.name, articles_path(:id => tag.name) %> <% end %> article/show.html.erb <%= raw @article.tags.map { |tag| link_to tag.name, articles_path(:tag_id => tag) }.join(" | ") %>

    - by DaveDev
    I'm trying to redirect the user if they login successfully but the code I have on my page seems to be preventing the redirection from working. If I remove the jQuery below the redirection works. Can somebody tell me tell me if there's something I'm doing wrong? Thanks I have the following Action: [AcceptVerbs(HttpVerbs.Post)] public ActionResult Login(User user) { var myErrors = new Dictionary<string, string>(); try { if (ModelState.IsValid) { if (userRepository.ValidUser(user)) { return RedirectToAction("Index", "Group", new {page = (int?)null}); } else { return Json("Username or password seems to be incorrect"); } } else { foreach (KeyValuePair<string, ModelState> keyValuePair in ViewData.ModelState) { if (keyValuePair.Value.Errors.Count > 0) { List<string> errors = new List<string>(); myErrors.Add(keyValuePair.Key, keyValuePair.Value.Errors[0].ErrorMessage); } } return Json(myErrors); } } catch (Exception) { return Json("Invalid"); } } and the following code on my page: <script language="javascript" type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function() { $("#SaveSuccess").hide(); $("#btnLogin").click(function() { $("form").submit(function(event) { var formData = $(this).serialize(); $.post($(this).attr("action"), formData, function(res) { ShowErrors(res); if (res == true) { $("#SaveSuccess").text("Saved"); } else { $("#divError").html(res); } $("#SaveSuccess").fadeIn(100); }, "json"); return false; }); }); }); </script>

  • Broken JS Loop with Google Maps...

    - by Oscar Godson
    My code is below, and I had an issue with nearly the same code, and it was fixed here on StackOverflow, but, again, its not working. I haven't changed the working code, but i did wrap it in the for...in loop youll see below. The issue is that no matter what marker I click it always triggers the last marker/infoWindow that was placed. $(function(){ var latlng = new google.maps.LatLng(45.522015,-122.683811); var settings = { zoom: 10, center: latlng, disableDefaultUI:true, mapTypeId: google.maps.MapTypeId.SATELLITE }; var map = new google.maps.Map(document.getElementById("map_canvas"), settings); $.getJSON('api',function(json){ for (var property in json) { if (json.hasOwnProperty(property)) { var json_data = json[property]; var the_marker = new google.maps.Marker({ title:json_data.item.headline, map:map, clickable:true, position:new google.maps.LatLng( parseFloat(json_data.item.geoarray[0].latitude), parseFloat(json_data.item.geoarray[0].longitude) ) }); var infowindow = new google.maps.InfoWindow({ content: '<div><h1>'+json_data.item.headline+'</h1><p>'+json_data.item.full_content+'</p></div>' }); new google.maps.event.addListener(the_marker, 'click', function() { infowindow.open(map,the_marker); }); } } }); }); Thank you for whoever figures this out!
