  • Adding property:value pairs from GooglemapsAPI to an existing json/javascript object

    - by Rockinelle
    I am trying to create a script that finds the closest store/location to a customer using googlemapsAPI. So I've got a json object which is a collection of store objects. Using Jquery's .each to iterate through that object, I am grabbing the driving time from the customer to each store. If it finds the directions, It copies the duration of the drive which is an object with the time in seconds and a human readable value. That appears to work, however when I try to sort through all of those store objects with the drivetime added, I cannot read the object copied from google. If I console.log the whole object, 'closest_store', It shows the values I'm looking for. When I try to read the values directly via closest_store.driveTime, Firebug is outputting undefined in the console. What am I missing here? $.getJSON('<?php echo Url::base() ?>oldservices/get_locations', {}, function(data){ $.each(data, function(index, value) { var end = data[index].address; var request = { origin: start, destination: end, travelMode: google.maps.DirectionsTravelMode.DRIVING }; directionsService.route(request, function(response, status) { //console.log(response); if (status == google.maps.DirectionsStatus.OK) { value.driveTime = response.trips[0].routes[0].duration.value; //console.log(response.trips[0].routes[0].duration.value); }; }); }); var closest_store; $.each(data, function(index, current_store) { if (index == 0) { closest_store = current_store; } else if (current_store.driveTime.value < closest_store.driveTime.value) { closest_store = value }; console.log(current_store.driveTime); } ) });

  • Pass object from webserver to client

    - by user362914
I developed a C# web application that calls a web-service which returns a base64 encoded array (PDF file). I then convert that array into a UCOMIStream object (I know it is obsolete, but the DLL that I am using requires it as a parameter). I use the following code to do the conversion which works perfectly. I can pass this object to the DLL so that I can print the PDF. This works great on the Webserver, but the requirement is to print it locally. Byte[] bBuffer = statementOut.statementcycle.statementdata.content; int size = bBuffer.Length; IntPtr mem = Marshal.AllocHGlobal(size); Marshal.Copy(bBuffer, 0, mem, size); // Create an OLE Stream object. System.Runtime.InteropServices.UCOMIStream str; //obsolete but the createstreamonhglobal outputs it CreateStreamOnHGlobal(mem, true, out str); The DLL resides on the client so I am able to use ActiveX to create the object using javascript and/or VBscript;however, I have not been able to figure out how to get the stream object to the client to pass to the DLL. How can this be achieved?

  • Javascript object encapsulation that tracks changes

    - by Raynos
Is it possible to create an object container where changes can be tracked Said object is a complex nested object of data. (compliant with JSON). The wrapper allows you to get the object, and save changes, without specifically stating what the changes are Does there exist a design pattern for this kind of encapsulation Deep cloning is not an option since I'm trying to write a wrapper like this to avoid doing just that. The solution of serialization should only be considered if there are no other solutions. An example of use would be var foo = state.get(); // change state state.update(); // or state.save(); client.tell(state.recentChange()); A jsfiddle snippet might help : http://jsfiddle.net/Raynos/kzKEp/ It seems like implementing an internal hash to keep track of changes is the best option. [Edit] To clarify this is actaully done on node.js on the server. The only thing that changes is that the solution can be specific to the V8 implementation.

  • AS3 Passing data between objects/classes

    - by 1337holiday
So i a building a categorized menu of different foods. I have a class for "categories" (buttons) which essentially will return a string "salads", "drinks", etc. I now have another class "menuItems" for items within categories and this handles sizes such as "small", "med", "large", etc. My problem now is that when i return "salads", i want to invoke an array which contains all the elements of salads, send it to menuItems which will populate the menu. So far i have both the category objects and the menu object setup. I just cant seem to be able to send the data that the category object is returning and pass it to the menu object. Both of which are added to the stage as shown below: If there was a way that i could say add all these classes to one class so that they can talk to each other that would be great but i dont know how to do this. Been stuck for hours, please any help is greatly appreciated.

  • Merge object from list by comparing one value

    - by Bala
I have two List of Objects (one is master list and other is error list) and if there is a match of one value when compared two lists then merge all other error list values into mast list value (only one object). Other than iterating is there any other way to compare a value and then merge that object. Object is a Value object with some setters and getters. Appreciate your help. List<OrderVO> masterList; List<OrderVO> errorList; If errorList.OrderVO.getOrderID = masterList.OrderVO.getOrderID then masterList.OrderVO.merge(errorList.OrderVO) or copy all values of masterList.OrderVO.copy(errorList.OrderVO). Hoper this is clear

  • How to filter/sort/rank object model nodes?

    - by BCS
I have some kind of object model and I need to filter and sort it's nodes for some kind of property. What kinds of automated systems exist to generate and select properties of the object model that correlate to what I want? (I'm intentionally being abstract and non-specific) I'm thinking of a system that works kind of like spam filters or supervised classification systems in that given an example data set it identifies rules that find nodes of interest. However I'm looking for a more general system in that it shouldn't require any design time information about the object model. It should work equality well as a spam filter on e-mail, a bug finder on a code base, an interest filter in a newsgroup or bot accounts finder on a social networking site. As long as it can explore the object model via reflection and be given a set of "interesting" nodes, it should be able to find rules that will find more nodes like them.

  • Calling a method on a Object says "disallows late binding"

    - by Maury Markowitz
I have a calls called DtaDate that stores an integer "key", a string name, a string for the date, and a Date object that is created from that string. I have some code that needs to accept a date-like object. I'd like the user to be able to pass in anything date like - a Date object which I'll extract the information from, another DtaDate, a string with the date in it, or even the key, which I'll use to look up the DtaDate from a collection. So I have this: Friend Sub New(NameIn As String, DateFormulaIn As String, Optional FromDateIn As Object = Nothing) [stuff that works] [check that we got a FromDateIn...] If TypeOf FromDateIn Is DtaDate Then fdk = FromDateIn.Key Ans.FromDate = fdk VB tells me that "Option Strict On disallows late binding". The other cases, where a string or integer is the TypeOf, I use CInt or CStr. But this is the first time I've actually run into a case where the casting is a non-base type. What's the trick?

  • DateTime object is blank

    - by user522962
I am trying to convert a date to a DateTime Object. My code works fine on my localhost (php version 5.3) but returns a blank DateTime object on my remote server (php version 5.2.14). Am I missing something really obvious? <?php $d = '2010-01-01'; $n = new DateTime ( $d ); print_r($n); ?> // result on localhost: DateTime Object ( [date] => 2010-01-01 00:00:00 [timezone_type] => 3 [timezone] => UTC ) // result on remotehost: DateTime Object ( ) // is blank

  • jQuery: Writing jquery in an object oriented way

    - by anoopkattodi
Hi all, I am trying to write all my query code in an object oriented way. But I don't know how to implement this for each click function and hover function etc. I also wanted to know: What are the advantages of writing query in object oriented way? For query what is better the object oriented way or in the ordinary way?

  • How to iterate over numerically named object properties

    - by Scott Schluer
So I have a horribly designed class that I can't change that has properties like this: object.Color1 object.Color2 object.Color3 etc... How can I iterate through those with a for loop. In other words, something like this: for (int i = 0; i <= 40; i++) { string PropertyName = "Color" + i; if (object.PropertyName != "") { // do something } } Obviously this code wouldn't work but it gives you an idea of what I'm after. I have to do some processing on each property and I don't want to repeat my code 40 times. :) A loop would be perfect, I'm just not sure how to create the name of the property on the fly.

  • Reference an object, based on a variable with it's name in it

    - by James G
    I'm looking for a way to reference an object, based on a variable with it's name in it. I know I can do this for properties and sub properties: var req = {body: {jobID: 12}}; console.log(req.body.jobID); //12 var subProperty = "jobID"; console.log(req.body[subProperty ]); //12 var property = "body"; console.log(req[property][subProperty]); //12 is it possible for the object itself? var req = {body: {jobID: 12}}; var object = "req"; var property = "body"; var subProperty = "jobID"; console.log([object][property][subProperty]); //12 or console.log(this[object][property][subProperty]); //12 Note: I'm doing this in node.js not a browser. Here is an exert from the function: if(action.render){ res.render(action.render,renderData); }else if(action.redirect){ if(action.redirect.args){ var args = action.redirect.args; res.redirect(action.redirect.path+req[args[0]][args[1]]); }else{ res.redirect(action.redirect.path); } } I could work around it by changing it to this, but I was looking for something more dynamic. if(action.render){ res.render(action.render,renderData); }else if(action.redirect){ if(action.redirect.args){ var args = action.redirect.args; if(args[0]==="req"){ res.redirect(action.redirect.path+req[args[1]][args[2]]); }else if(args[0]==="rows"){ rows.redirect(action.redirect.path+rows[args[1]][args[2]]); } }else{ res.redirect(action.redirect.path); } }

  • Rails - before_save that includes updated object

    - by Sam
I have a before_save that calculates a percentage that needs to include the object that is being updated. Is there a one-liner in Rails that takes care of this? for example and this is totally made up: Object.find(:all, :include => :updated_object) Currently I'm sending the object that is getting updated to the definition that calculates the percentage and that works but it's making things messy.

  • Serialize object from within

    - by Maximus
I have the class testClass which has the method save. This method saves object to a database. But it needs to serialize object before saving. How can I serialize object from within the class to do that? class testClass { private $prop = 777; public function save() { $serializedObject = serialize(self); DB::insert('objects', array('id', 'object')) ->values(array(1, $serializedObject)) ->execute(); } } serialize(self) obviously doesn't work.

  • Finding the type of an object in C++

    - by lemnisca
I have a class A and another class that inherits from it, B. I am overriding a function that accepts an object of type A as a parameter, so I have to accept an A. However, I later call functions that only B has, so I want to return false and not proceed if the object passed is not of type B. What is the best way to find out which type the object passed to my function is?

  • C# Deserializing to a dictionary<string, Object>

    - by lovecraft
I'm writing a C#/VB application to connect to a database and do stuff with the data. I was given this code to take a serialized byte array and deserialized it, which is then written to a Dictionary The line of code is: Dictionary<string, Object> DictionaryEmployee = (Dictionary<string, Object> Deserializer(byteArrayEmp)); The errors I'm getting are exceedingly unhelpful. "Only assignment, call, increment, decrement, await, and new object expressions can be used as a statement" if I mouse over Object and "Using the generic type 'System.Collections.Generic.Dictionary' requires 2 type arguments if I mouse over Dictionary.

  • Create Object using ObjectBuilder

    - by dhinesh
Want to create objects using ObjectBuilder or ObjectBuilder2. I do not want to use StructureMap I was able to create the object having parameterless constructor using the code mentioned below. public class ObjectFactory : BuilderBase<BuilderStage> { public static T BuildUp<T>() { var builder = new Builder(); var locator = new Locator { { typeof(ILifetimeContainer), new LifetimeContainer() } }; var buildUp = builder.BuildUp<T>(locator, null, null); return buildUp; } for creating object of customer you just call ObjectFactory.BuildUp<Customer> However this creates object of class which has no parameters, however I need to create object which are having constructor with parameters.
