  • New projects not built when target platform is set explicitly

    I create a new solution with one project, and then change the target platform from "Any CPU" to "x86". After this new projects added doesn't get built by default, and their target platform doesn't follow the global settings. Why?! Looking at the configuration manager new projects added are not checked to "Build", and they get target platform "Any CPU" instead of the globally set x86. Why is this happening? I expect new projects too to get the globally set and defined x86 target platform.. Some things I've tried: Toggle global platform back to Any CPU, and then to x86 again. No change.. Choosing platform explicitly for the new project. x86 is not available in the list, and when I say <New..> and try adding it I'm not allowed as ".. a solution platform with the same name already exists.". On the build properties for the new project I can't change the platform in the Configuration section, but I can set "Platform target" to x86 in the General section. It is however not clear whether this actually makes a difference, and it wouldn't respond if I change the target platform globally later. Initially I thought this was a problem from converting my solution from VS2008 to VS2010, but the problem applies both places. I.e. when I create a solution in VS2008 and just stay in VS2008 I still get the problem.

The code I am using to get the nodes is: private static Node ***getNode***(Document doc, String XPathQuery) throws XPathExpressionException { XPath xpath = XPathFactory.newInstance().newXPath(); XPathExpression expr = xpath.compile(XPathQuery); Object result = expr.evaluate(doc, XPathConstants.NODESET); NodeList nodes = (NodeList) result; if(nodes != null && nodes.getLength() >0) return nodes.item(0); throw new XPathExpressionException("No node list found for " + XPathQuery); } To get %ARN% value: "//templateitem[@itemid=5]/templateitemdata/text()" and with the getNode method I can get the node, and then call the getNodeValue(). Besides getting that value, I would like to set templateitemdata value for the "templateitem[@itemid=6]" since its empty. But the code I use can't get the node since its empty. The result is null. Do you know a way get the node so I can set the value?

  • How to manually set an authenticated user in Spring Security / SpringMVC

    After a new user submits a 'New account' form, I want to manually log that user in so they don't have to login on the subsequent page. The normal form login page going through the spring security interceptor works just fine. In the new-account-form controller I am creating a UsernamePasswordAuthenticationToken and setting it in the SecurityContext manually: SecurityContextHolder.getContext().setAuthentication(authentication); On that same page I later check that the user is logged in with: SecurityContextHolder.getContext().getAuthentication().getAuthorities(); This returns the authorities I set earlier in the authentication. All is well. But when this same code is called on the very next page I load, the authentication token is just UserAnonymous. I'm not clear why it did not keep the authentication I set on the previous request. Any thoughts? Could it have to do with session ID's not being set up correctly? Is there something that is possibly overwriting my authentication somehow? Perhaps I just need another step to save the authentication? Or is there something I need to do to declare the authentication across the whole session rather than a single request somehow? Just looking for some thoughts that might help me see what's happening here.

  • Modify SQL result set before returning from stored procedure

    I have a simple table in my SQL Server 2008 DB: Tasks_Table -id -task_complete -task_active -column_1 -.. -column_N The table stores instructions for uncompleted tasks that have to be executed by a service. I want to be able to scale my system in future. Until now only 1 service on 1 computer read from the table. I have a stored procedure, that selects all uncompleted and inactive tasks. As the service begins to process tasks it updates the task_active flag in all the returned rows. To enable scaleing of the system I want to enable deployment of the service on more machines. Because I want to prevent a task being returned to more than 1 service I have to update the stored procedure that returns uncompleted and inactive tasks. I figured that i have to lock the table (only 1 reader at a time - I know I have to use an apropriate ISOLATION LEVEL), and updates the task_active flag in each row of the result set before returning the result set. So my question is how to modify the SELECT result set iin the stored procedure before returning it?

    I have this add user form, it also doubles as a edit user form by querying the data and setting the value="#query.xvalue#". If the user exists (eg, you're editing a user, it loads in the users data from the database. When doing this on the <cffile field it does not load in the data, then when the insert goes to insert data it overrights the database values with a blank string (If a user does not input a new file). How do I avoid this?     My code currently looks like this: private Foo myFoo; public Foo CurrentFoo { get { return myFoo; } set { SetFoo(value); } } private void SetFoo(Foo newFoo) { // Do stuff // Here be dragons myFoo = newFoo; } To be able to bind it in XAML/WPF I need to turn Foo into a dependency property: public static DependencyProperty CurrentFooProperty = DependencyProperty.Register("CurrentFoo", typeof(Foo), typeof(FooHandler), new PropertyMetadata(false)); public Foo CurrentFoo { get { return (Foo)GetValue(CurrentFooProperty); } set { SetValue(CurrentFooProperty, value); } } Ive heard that you shouldnt do magic inside the actual C# property set {}, since it might not be called but the value is written directly to the dependency property. If this is false, let me know, it seems like the most obvious and simple route to take. I know I can add a validation function to the dependency property but I assume that it shouldnt be used for this? I need to communicate the change to legacy systems that cannot yet be bound in XAML. Whats the best way to approach this problem?

  • Rails: Can't set or update tag_list using a text field with acts_as_taggable_on

    Hey everyone, I'm trying to add tagging to a rails photo gallery system I'm working on. It works from the back-end, but if I try to set or change it in the form view, it doesn't work. I added acts_as_taggable to the photo model and did the migrations. My gallery builder is programmed to add one tag automatically to each photo it creates. This works fine, just as if it were setting it for the console. However, I can't seem to set tags using a text_field in the photo form. Here's the code I added to my photo form: <p> <%= f.label :tag_list %><br /> <%= f.text_field :tag_list %> </p> Now, that's pretty trivial, and since :tag_list supports single-string comma-separated assignment (e.g. tag_list = "this, that, the other" #= ['this', 'that', 'the other']), I don't see why using a text field doesn't work. And to make even less sense, if a tag list has already been populated, the list will still show up in the text field when editing the photo. I just can't seem to commit any changes to the list. The documentation on their github page doesn't appear to give any information on how to set these values from the view. Any ideas? Oh, and I'm using the Rails 3 gem version.

  • How to set a static system date for one user or application--"Groundhog Day"

    I have a vendor application on AIX which requires the system date to be set to an arbitrary value for QA testing purposes. The application gets its date from the system, and there is no possibility of changing it to get the date from a parameter. The application runs under a specific userid. I'd like to find a way to set the date for this application or user to a private value without affecting all the other users and applications on the system. So far the only thing I have been able to do is dedicate an LPAR to this application. Every day at midnight a root crontab job resets the date to the static value. This works, but it is wasteful of resources; and now I am faced the requirement to do this for other applications, which, of course, require different dates. Is there any clever solution to this? I need a way to create a sandboxed environment where the date returned from the system can be set to a private value. As I said, the OS is AIX, and that can't be changed for this application either.

I'd like to be able to retrieve the most recent amount for a set of services. I'm interested to see how I can retrieve the same data using either a single query or at the very least less than X queries. I'm very interested to see what might be the most efficient approach. The table currently contains 28809 records. I appreciate that there are other questions that cover selecting the most recent set of records. I have examined three such questions but have been unable to apply the solutions to my problem.

    Hi Folks, I have tried all the way but could not succeed to set backgroundColor of TableView. setting tableView.backgroundColor and/or cell.backgroundColor to clearColor didn't work when the parent view controller was UIViewContoller. My nib file structure is FileOwner View UITableView (Note: i set the TableView to groupedTable section) First attempt, I created the UIView in the code viewDidLoad UIView *view = [[UIView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0, 0, 160, 300)] autorelease; [view setBackgroundColor:UIColor blueColor]; // color it just to see if it is created at the right place [self.tableView sendSubViewToBack:view]; It works but it hides the content of cell. I am able to see the content of header but not cell content. (But when i change the co-ordinate of view(0,150,160,300) then i am able to see the cell's content but then it loose the backgroundColor of tableview. Second attempt, I created the imageView View ImageView UITableView and set the self.tableView.backgroundColor = [UIColor clearColor]; but did not work. I googled but did not the peaceful answer.

    I am working with code from the GNU core utils, and find that the void usage() function is apparently set with the attribute "noreturn". Well, I am modifying the function, and I wish it to return (I removed the call to exit()). The compiler still complains that a "noreturn" function returns, and when using the Eclipse CDT debugger, stepping thorugh the code is anomolous - I skip over lines of code. I do not see the function be set in the .c file, and there is no .h file for this .c file. The file is df.c. I have renamed the file df_call.c. How can the compiler be finding this attribute? How can I unset it? Thanks. ======= Thanks to all contributors for their help! The short answer is "the usage() function found in GNUutils 7.4 is prototyped in system.h as 'void usage (int status) ATTRIBUTE_NORETURN'. Changing to 'void usage (int status); /*ATTRIBUTE_NORETURN;*/' resolved the issue for me, but leaves the problem of a modified system.h. The long answer is: The GNU c compiler supports assigning attributes to functions (see http://gcc.gnu.org/onlinedocs/gcc/Function-Attributes.html) one of which is "noreturn". The syntax is "attribute ((noreturn))" (see http://gcc.gnu.org/onlinedocs/gcc/Attribute-Syntax.html#Attribute-Syntax) but is often macro'd to ATTRIBUTE_NORETURN. If the attribute is set, and in this case one tries to return from the function, the executable compiles with a complaint, but compiles and runs. It will, however, behave unexpectedly (skipping over src lines in my case, maybe due to the optimization). The debugger in Eclipse CDT actually jumps past lines of code, leading the developer to doubt his senses.

    Is it possible to render and style a <title> element from within the <head> of an html document? I thought it was impossible to render information from the <head>, but the system status page for 37signals.com seems to be doing just that - http://status.37signals.com/. If you inspect the element at the very top of the page, the text that reads "37signals System Status", you'll see that the part of the DOM that is generating the text is the <head>'s <title>, and the css is as follows: title { display: block; margin: 10px auto; max-width: 840px; width: 100%; padding: 0 20px; float: left; color: black; text-rendering: optimizelegibility; -moz-box-sizing: border-box; box-sizing: border-box; } Can someone confirm that the <title> info from the <head> is indeed what is being rendered? If so, can someone point to documentation that defines this capability as I have not found any? I have applied the above css to an html document on my local web server using the same browser (chromium, os x 10.8.5) as the 37signals site was viewed on, yet my file did not display the <head>'s <title>.

    I had a situation today where an xml document had a directive indicating it was utf-8.  So, the code in question was reading in the “string” of that xml then attempting to de-serialize it using an Xsd generated type. What you end up with is an exception indicating that there’s an error in the Xml document at (1,1) or something to that effect.     In my tablayout example, i have created 3 tabs, as usually i set 3 activities for each tab. I can set image to title bar of activity, which adds the intent to each tab.     I plan to use dom4j DOM Document as a static cache in an application where multiples threads can query the document. Taking into the account that the document itself will never change, is it safe to query it from multiple threads? Requirements: -The application is a windows form, it is to use the web browser control, to load a web page. -Textfield values are define by within the application. -When textfield on the webpage matches the applications predefined elements, the predefine fixed value is set and can not be changed by the end user. Example If my application defines element "FirstName" equal to value "John", the text field for value for element "FirstName" will always equal "John" and this value can not be changed by the end user. I see that elem has an onclick property, but it's type is dynamic so I don't know what to do with it. The documentation is pretty useless.
