    I am writing a Silverlight 3 application, this app uses a service reference to connect to a SharePoint site by using Sharepoint Lists.asmx web service Now i want to install my app on different servers, and i want my app to use the weBservice of the server on which it is installed (without me specifying it). In Vs2005, we used to specify "dynamic" for the webservice. How can i do this in Visual Studio 2010 (service reference)? there is no "dynamic" property for a service reference. Thanks,

  • UITableView: Handle cell selection in a mixed cell table view static and dynamic cells

    I am trying to mix dynamic and static cells in a grouped table view: I would like to get two sections with static cells at the top followed by a section of dynamic cells (please refer to the screenshot below). I have set the table view contents to static cells. The cell returned from cell = [super tableView:tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:indexPath] for section 0 and row 0 is nil. What is wrong with my code? Could there be any problems with my outlets? I haven't set any outlets because I am subclassing UITableViewController and supposedly do not any outlets for tableview to be set (?). Any suggestions on how to better do it? Edit II I have recreated my scene in storyboard (please refer to my updated screen shot above) and rewritten the view controller in order to start from a new base. I have also read the description in Apple's forum as applefreak suggested. However, I run in my first problem with the method numberOfSectionsInTableView:tableView, in which I increment the number of static sections (two) by one. - (NSInteger)numberOfSectionsInTableView:(UITableView *)tableView { return [super numberOfSectionsInTableView:tableView] + 1 ; } The app crashed with the error message: Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSRangeException', reason: '* -[__NSArrayI objectAtIndex:]: index 2 beyond bounds [0 .. 1]' Why is this code not working for me even though I followed Apple's and applefreak recommendations? It is possible that the tableView has changed a bit in iOS 6? Solution: I got this to work now using AppleFreaks code sample in his answer below. Thank you, AppleFreak! Edit III: Cell Selection: How can I handle cell selection in a mixed (dynamic and static cells) cell table view? When do I call super and when do I call self tableView? When I use [[super tableView] selectRowAtIndexPath:indexPath animated:NO scrollPosition:UITableViewScrollPositionNone] and try to check for the selected index paths with: UITableView *tableView = [super tableView]; if ( [[tableView indexPathForSelectedRow] isEqual:customGrowthIndexPath] ) { .. } I get an return value of nil. As I can't find the source of my error, I really would appreciate your help

    In my view, if I have a situation where I need to use a dynamic method (such as Domain.findByName("name")) in multiple places, would it be better to define a variable with and refer to that, rather than have the dynamic method in multiple places? I know this seems like an obvious answer, but I just wanted to make sure Grails doesn't cache it or something, and indeed two DB calls are being made.

Site s = new Site(); IRepository<Site> obj = (IRepository<s.GetType()>)ServiceLocator.Current.GetInstance(t) obviously the above won't compile with this cast.     Hello, I'm building a query with the LINQ dynamic library so I don't know how many potential parameters will I have and I get an error when trying to query DATE type fields: Operator '=' incompatible with operand types 'DateTime' and 'String' When I step through the debugger in the Dynamic.cs it shows that the value is of type string and the field is of type date so the problem is obvious but I have no idea how to approach it. Any ideas? BR

I was not able to find a standalone installer for that, so I am having to install SQL Server 2005 Client Components. This approach is not ideal as we don't want to have SSMS on an public-facing production server. I was wondering for the first error, what does "enable away mode" mean? for the second, what utilization percentage of CPU is reasonable? for the third, what is "PCI Express Active-State Power Management (ASPM)"?     How to stop blanking screen although I am active on Ubuntu Karmic on old IBM Laptop 600E? After some time of working on the machine the screen goes blank. When I hit ESC on the built-in keyboard (not on the attached USB keyboard where I work) it comes back and everything works fine until the next screen-blanking. I suspect it is some power management issue. When I use an old keyboard that has a ps2 connector it does not happen. So my guess is that the usb keyboard does not update the power management timer that detects when the session was last used? I am using fluxbox window manager. I do not want to disable power management because it is nice that the fan only works at the necessary speed (the fan spped is regulated which I can hear) But I could disable power management for testing purposes.

  • iptables management tools for large scale environment

    The environment I'm operating in is a large-scale web hosting operation (several hundred servers under management, almost-all-public addressing, etc -- so anything that talks about managing ADSL links is unlikely to work well), and we're looking for something that will be comfortable managing both the core ruleset (around 12,000 entries in iptables at current count) plus the host-based rulesets we manage for customers. Our core router ruleset changes a few times a day, and the host-based rulesets would change maybe 50 times a month (across all the servers, so maybe one change per five servers per month). We're currently using filtergen (which is balls in general, and super-balls at our scale of operation), and I've used shorewall in the past at other jobs (which would be preferable to filtergen, but I figure there's got to be something out there that's better than that). The "musts" we've come up with for any replacement system are: Must generate a ruleset fairly quickly (a filtergen run on our ruleset takes 15-20 minutes; this is just insane) -- this is related to the next point: Must generate an iptables-restore style file and load that in one hit, not call iptables for every rule insert Must not take down the firewall for an extended period while the ruleset reloads (again, this is a consequence of the above point) Must support IPv6 (we aren't deploying anything new that isn't IPv6 compatible) Must be DFSG-free Must use plain-text configuration files (as we run everything through revision control, and using standard Unix text-manipulation tools are our SOP) Must support both RedHat and Debian (packaged preferred, but at the very least mustn't be overtly hostile to either distro's standards) Must support the ability to run arbitrary iptables commands to support features that aren't part of the system's "native language" Anything that doesn't meet all these criteria will not be considered. The following are our "nice to haves": Should support config file "fragments" (that is, you can drop a pile of files in a directory and say to the firewall "include everything in this directory in the ruleset"; we use configuration management extensively and would like to use this feature to provide service-specific rules automatically) Should support raw tables Should allow you to specify particular ICMP in both incoming packets and REJECT rules Should gracefully support hostnames that resolve to more than one IP address (we've been caught by this one a few times with filtergen; it's a rather royal pain in the butt) The more optional/weird iptables features that the tool supports (either natively or via existing or easily-writable plugins) the better. We use strange features of iptables now and then, and the more of those that "just work", the better for everyone.
