• Android AppWidget TextView: How to set background color at run time

  I am trying to create an AppWidget, in which the background color of a TextView changes at random at specified periodic interval. The TextView is defined in layout xml file as <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?> <LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:id="@+id/widget" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:orientation="vertical" > <TextView android:id="@+id/message" android:background="#ff99ff" android:text="Hello Widget" /> </LinearLayout> In update method, i have loaded the layout as RemoteViews remoteView=new RemoteViews(context.getPackageName(),R.layout.widget_message); To change the background of TextView i used the following statement remoteView.setInt(R.id.message, "setBackgroundResource", R.color.col_1); But i am getting a widget saying problem loading widget. If i remove the above line everything works fine. I'd like to hide exittext after pressing button to make more space for list (button will go up). On second press edittext should be visible again. Edittext and button have "wrap_content" height. • Horizontal UITableView

  I want implement a layout in my ipad application that has a uitable view that scrolls left and right rather then up and down : So rather than row 1 row 2 row 3 ( scrolling vertically ) It would be : row 1, row2, row 3 (scrolling horizontally ) I've seen that UItableView is designed to only do vertical scrolling so doing a transform does not give the desired effect. Is there a standard way to do this taking advantage of a datasource provider like uitableview provides? I basically want to do somthing similar to what the BBC News reader app ( http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/bbc-news/id364147881?mt=8 ) on the Ipad does with the list of stories to select from. Thanks

• Button layed out using layout_toLeftOf in a RelativeLayout does not show up

  Hello all, I am trying to layout a Button to the left of a TextView that is centered on the screen. My layout looks like this: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <RelativeLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:orientation="vertical" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent" android:gravity="center"> <TextView android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:text="foo" android:id="@+id/center" /> <Button android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:text="Left button" android:layout_toLeftOf="@id/center" /> </RelativeLayout> Unfortunately, the button just does not appear. I get the following result: As you see, the button doesn't show up. It works if I use layout_toRightOf, then the button appears to the right of the TextView, just as expected. Any ideas what I am doing wrong here?

  Hi! I need a listbox with IPhone-like functionality for Silverlight. That is, animated scrolling, and click and drag to scroll. Scrolling will continue a bit after the mouse up event based on the "speed" of the dragging. I've search and found no control vendors providing this. So question is how should I build it? I need some hints to get started. There's two parts to this question: Part 1, How to get the animated scrolling of the listbox. Part 2, How to build a "draggable" scrolling, I guess I should put a canvas on top and track the mouseevent, and simulate some physics. Some hints here would have been great. Thanks Larsi.

• jQuery slideToggle flicker in Firefox

  I have a specific situation with slideToggle that creates a flicker in Firefox. The situation was when the expanding element goes longer than the page and a vertical scrollbar appears in Firefox. If you scroll down to read all of the text in the expanding element and then click on the trigger to close the element, Firefox would flash for a second and then the page readjusts and returns to its position before the expanded element was expanded. I have tried adding ‘return false;’ to no avail.   Hi all, I have a View with lots of things inside it including buttons, a scroll view and a tableView (ipad app). I am controller this view with a viewController subclass but I don't know how to manage my tableView. I don't know where put the methods : - (UITableViewCell *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath should i add them to my ViewController or should i create a new subclass of UITableViewController (and get them "for free") and set the dataSource and delegate of my tableView to that class when I create it programmatically? And in the SQL Server 2005 import and export wizard the flate file source advanced tab the OutputColumnWith is 50. Will that say my flate file column is max 50? • jQuery table drag and drop plugin within iFrame

  I am using the latest version (0.5) of Table Drag and Drop plugin (http://www.isocra.com/2008/02/table-drag-and-drop-jquery-plugin/) for jQuery. I have a problem when the table with the draggable rows is inside an iframe. When I drag a row and take it to the top, the page will not scroll (even after explicitly setting scrollAmount to a positive value). Scrolling works on the same table if it is not inside an iframe. Has anyone faced this problem? Has anyone figured out a solution for this?

  Hi, I think I am stupid. I searched now for 15 minutes, and found several different solutions for scrolling on datagrids, but none seems to work for me. I am using WPF with .NET 3.5 and the WPF Toolkit DataGrid. My grid gets updated when my observable collection changes, works perfectly. Now, my DataGrid is located inside a normal Grid and scrollbars appear if the DataGrid gets to big. Also fine... And know, the 1.000.000 $ question: How do I get the datagrid to scroll to the last row. There is: no AutoScroll Property no CurrentRowSelected Index a CurrentCell, but no Collection I could use for CurrentCell = AllCells.Last Any ideas? I feel really stupid, and it seems strange that this question is so hard. What am I missing?

I want to make this application screen resolution independent so that it can run on different mobile devices with different screen resolutions. Currently I am testing my application on different emulators for platform- Pocket PC 2003, Windows mobile 6 standard SDK & Windows Mobile 6 professional SDK . When I run the application on emulator for 240*320 screen resolution or less than that it works well ( only it provide the horizontal & vertical scrall bar in case of resolution less tha 240*320). If I run my application on emulator with more than 240*320 screen resolution its User Inferface gets badly affected. How to make the smart device application screen resolution independent ? Can you provide me the code or link through which i can resolve the above issue? Is there any setting for making the application screen resolution independent?

• jQuery datepicker causes page overflow

  I am using the datepicker control from jQuery-ui 1.8. from-date is a text input. I am attaching a very simple datepicker: $('#from-date').datepicker(); This causes the page to overflow (vertical scrollbar), which I am trying to avoid. As soon as I click the from-date, the datepicker control appears, and the scrollbar dissapears. After dismissing the datepicker, the scrollbar doesn't appear anymore. The text field is inside a div that has overflow:auto and a fixed height and width. I suspect it's a z-index issue. What am I doing wrong ? How would I debug this ?

But how do I get some controls at the top or at the bottom of the cells, which scroll with the rest? • Freeze the indent of a row group in DevExpress GridControl

  I am required to display a DevExpress WinForms GridControl where the rows must be grouped by a date column. When horizontally scrolling the grid, I am required to keep the group row and group indents fixed to the left of the control (so they do not scroll with the columns). I have so far been unable to find any built-in capability for this. There is the ability to fix a column to the left or right side of the control, but the indent is not a true column. FYI, the group row portion is staying "fixed" by handling the drawing of it to always position it at the left. I do not see a way of controlling the drawing of the indent however. Attempts to custom draw an indent have been unsuccessful so far. We are using version 9.3.2.0 of the DevExpress XtraGrid controls for WinForms. Does anyone have any solutions or workarounds that might allow us to at least give the appearance that the group indents are fixed? Thank you!

• Coda-Slider Problem in ie7, need to remove horizontal scrollbar

  Hello, I am having a big issue with coda-slider and ie7. The horizontal scrollbar is unwanted and I cannot figure out how to remove it. Since coda-slider works as one long scrolling div, I could see why this is happening, however, in all other broswers, including ie8, there is no horizonal scroll. • Groupted table view cells not loading.

They get populated after I scroll up and down a few times. Help? • UIScrollView and UIImage in it with paging enabled

  Hello guys! I need to display 10 - 1000 images on a UIScrollView. Paging is enabled. So every page of the scrollview is an image, it is an uiimage. I can load 10 images to 10 uiimages which stays in the memory, but with 1000 images I have problems on the iPhone or on the iPad. I am trying to unload and then load the images when I am doing scrolling. I every time displays 3 images. The current page image, and the -1 and +1 pages. When I am scrolling I unload the image and then load the next. With this method I have two problems. The scrolling is laggy and if I scroll very fast the images don't appear. Maybe is there any good solution for these problems? Can you suggest me one?

• UIScrollview setContentOffset immediate animation?

  Is there anyway to get the setContentOffset animation to happen immediately instead of waiting until the app returns to the main run loop? I tried setting the animation property to NO and nesting inside of an animation block but it still waits until returning to the main run loop. I've also tried using a sub method to perform the animation. My problem is I perform some heavy work after setting the contentOffset so the scroll view waits until this work is complete to animate the setting of the content offset so it appears to lag for a second.
