  • Page views in Google Analytics are off compared to a similar metric

    - by tiki16
We have a page where a user can sign a pledge to recycle by clicking a pledge button. A script writes it to a text file which updates the number on the page. In the past 2 days there have been 185 pledges signed but only 63 page views in GA. I trust that they are unique pledges and not just people adding multiple fake names and entering it. Is there anyway to get a better report from Google Analytics?

  • How to disable automatic download of new podcast episodes in Rhythmbox?

    - by meceso
After adding a new podcast to Rhythmbox it starts downloading the newest episode automatically without asking the user for permission. I do find this behaviour pretty annoying especially when you have a lot of podcasts and are using 3G broadband to access the internet. Can you update the podcast feed and then choose manually which episode you want to download? Did not find this in the settings/preferences...

  • What a .NET developer should know or practice (know how to do)? [closed]

    - by Olav
I would like to have a list of basic tasks that .NET developers of different flavors using Visual Studio/SQL Server should be able to do. Ideally with a kind of lab environment where I could practice. VB.NET or C#, latest versions of ASP.NET, WPF and Silverlight. I am looking for small practical "atomic" tasks (like adding a db connection for example) I am looking for some existing labs/lists rather than specific points in the answers. (But I would not mind collaborating in developing material).

  • Should I use SVG for icons? [on hold]

    - by Nick Maddren
I'm just wondering what is the preferred practice for adding icons? I see quite a bit of hype over SVG images however having a bit of trouble understanding how they are implemented as every article I read seems out of date. I need icons for simple lists, the icons need to be one solid color. I feel as if using png's was so 2008 haha, would you recommend the use of SVG images or are developers using other methods to display icons now?

  • How do I put YAML code in GitHub MarkDown?

    - by rutherford
Following YAML snippet that I'm trying to place in my markdown formatted readme: ``` libraries: - name: numpy version: "1.6.1" ``` Tried the above with both no and 2 trailing spaces at the end of each line. Both turn out on a single line. Obviously I want them on 3 separate lines in my README.md. How? edit: note tried adding 'yaml' as the optional lang parameter but no dice either.

  • New SQL Monitor Metric: Principals with Sysadmin Login

This metric counts the number of principals who are members of the sysadmin fixed server role. SQL Server relies on role-based security to manage permissions. If multiple IT system administrators have permissions to set up new SQL Server logins, they might be inclined to do so as part of the sysadmin role. Adding a normal user to the sysadmin role could pose a security risk and is not recommended unless the principal is highly trusted.

  • Is there a stackexchange like extension for magento? [closed]

    - by John K
I'm looking into adding a knowledge base solution to our existing magento installation where people can ask questions regarding our products in a similar way to the stackexchange format. I could not find anything myself, so I was wondering if anyone had experience with implementing something similar, perhaps trough multiple extensions tied together to achieve this. Any help would be appreciated.

  • apt-get update specific list?

    - by ohshazbot
I'm working on a scripted install of something, and one of the parts is adding an Apache Bigtop repo and installing things from it. But having to do an apt-get update before installing is quite time consuming because of all of the other mirrors touched (and I do an update before hand to make sure the system has previously used tools in the script). Is there either a way to do an update that doesn't update everything or a way to do an install and specify a repo/list that hasn't been updated?
