  • Input event loop in a console application

    Hi, I'm trying to make a little console application that is able to deal with keystrokes as events. What I need is mostly the ability to get the keystrokes and be able to do something with them without dealing with the typical stdin reading functions. I tried to check the code of programs like mplayer, which implement this (for stopping the play, for example), but I can't get to the core of this with such a big code base. Thanks

    I am using jQuery to make an AJAX call to a ruby method in my controller. The javascript looks something like this: var latLongJSON = { "address": [ {"lat" : 50, "long" : 50} ] }; var returnedAddresses; $.ajax({ type: "GET", data: latLongJSON, url: "map/getaddresses", success: function(data) { returnedAddresses = JSON.parse(data); } }); Then in my 'getaddresses' method, my parameter coming through looks like: Parameters: {"address"=>"[object Object]"} I'm not sure what to do with this. I'm fairly new to Ruby, and I'm not sure if I need to convert this to something else, or what. Ideally I want to be able to pass in multiple sets of lat/long in the 'address' array, then be able to iterate over those in my Ruby code.

  • Double.TryParse() input decimal separator different than system decimal separator

    I have a source XML that uses a dot (".") as a decimal separator and I am parsing this on a system that uses a comma (",") as a decimal separator. As a result, value of 0.7 gets parsed with Double.TryParse or Double.Parse as 7000000. What are my options to parse correctly? One of them is to replace dots in source with commas with String.Replace('.', ',') but I don't think I like this very much.

If I do this. trip = Trip.create( { name: 'Flight', flights: { flights: flights.to_json } } ) It works. I don't want this though because now I have to access the json array with trip.flights.flights. Not the behavior I'm wanting.

    I have a web service that I am trying to test in Visual Web Developer Express Edition (Service Pack 1). I am working with two different websites on two different branches from an SVN repository but largely the same code. The web services are the same code but there are some code differences for other features. My problem is that when going to the web service specification page in debug mode (i.e. MyWebService.asmx) there should be text fields for inputting parameters for that web service. On one of these web sites the fields are available. On another they are not available. I don't understand why/how there should be any differences between the two setups.

Now I need to put conditions specific for that child class but I get this error: "Class Person has no association named student_field_1" Person = Parent Class Employee = Child class Student = Child class is there any way yo cast of somehow tell Doctrine that the Person is actually a Student and to allow me to put Student fields in the WHERE?

  • Disable keyboard input on Android TimePicker

    I'm developing and Android app using the 1.6 sdk. I'm using a TimePicker and I don't want the soft keyboard to come up when you click on the digits in the TimePicker. I only want the TimePicker to be changed using the plus and minus buttons. I've tried using android:focusable="false" and android:focusableInTouchMode="false" hoping those would do it, but they didn't seem to do anything. Is there a way to do this?

  • Jackson object mapping - map incoming JSON field to protected property in base class

    We use Jersey/Jackson for our REST application. Incoming JSON strings get mapped to the @Entity objects in the backend by Jackson to be persisted. The problem arises from the base class that we use for all entities. It has a protected id property, which we want to exchange via REST as well so that when we send an object that has dependencies, hibernate will automatically fetch these dependencies by their ids. Howevery, Jackson does not access the setter, even if we override it in the subclass to be public. We also tried using @JsonSetter but to no avail. It mimics JOptionPane but the way I do it looks ugly to me because of the static fields involved... In my csv file parser, however, I have a HashSet that will store objects created from each line of my CSV file. All that will be used by a web application, and users will be uploading CSV files, possibly concurrently. Now my question is : what is the best way to prevent my list of objects to be modified by 2 users ? Also, how should I synchronize - both - the setting of the csvFile and the parsing ? I feel like my actual design is broken because threads could modify the csv file several times while a possibly long parse process is running. I hope I'm being clear enough, because myself am a bit confused on those multi-synchronization issues. Thanks ;-)

But the instances of Label will not get its data members fill in. I have also tried to do this using plain variables (not properties). If they were filled in, the image would actually show "3" and "Text rad 1". So what do I put in the class "Label" to have the properties right? Should there be some kind of annotation? Where do I read about this?
