• Design - Where should objects be registered when using Windsor

  I will have the following components in my application DataAccess DataAccess.Test Business Business.Test Application I was hoping to use Castle Windsor as IoC to glue the layers together but I am bit uncertain about the design of the gluing. My question is who should be responsible for registering the objects into Windsor? I have a couple of ideas; Each layer can register its own objects. To test the BL, the test bench could register mock classes for the DAL. Each layer can register the object of its dependencies, e.g. the business layer registers the components of the data access layer. To test the BL, the test bench would have to unload the "real" DAL object and register the mock objects. The application (or test app) registers all objects of the dependencies. Can someone help me with some ideas and pros/cons with the different paths? Links to example projects utilizing Castle Windsor in this way would be very helpful.

  I am trying to track down a very odd crash. What is so odd about it is a workaround that someone discovered and which I cannot explain. The workaround is this small program which I'll refer to as 'runner': #include <stdio.h> #include <unistd.h> #include <string.h> #include <errno.h> int main(int argc, char *argv[]) { if (argc == 1) { fprintf(stderr, "Usage: %s prog [args ...]\n", argv[0]); return 1; } execvp(argv[1], argv + 1); fprintf(stderr, "execv failed: %s\n", strerror(errno)); // If exec returns because the program is not found or we // don't have the appropriate permission return 255; } As you can see, all this program does is use execvp to replace itself with a different program. The program crashes when it is directly invoked from the command line: /path/to/prog args # this crashes but works fine when it is indirectly invoked via my runner shim: /path/to/runner /path/to/prog args # works successfully For the life of me, I can figure out how having an extra exec can change the behavior of the program being run (as you can see the program does not change the environment). Some background on the crash. The crash itself is happening in the C++ runtime. Specifically, when the program does a throw, the crashing version incorrectly thinks there is no matching catch (although there is) and calls terminate. When I invoke the program via runner, the exception is properly caught. My question is any idea why the extra exec changes the behavior of the exec'ed program?

I have used the search function to see if I have been incrementing any variables anywhere, and have put in over 2 hours trying to see why MATLAB is changing my variables when I don't want it to.

  I have written a program in C# which connects to a POP Server and retrieves raw email message strings from the server using POP3 command RETR. Since the email message being retrieved by the program is in plain text format with all the headers and message body with in the same, its too difficult to extract each header and mail body from the raw string. Could anybody tell me a solution by which I can parse the entire raw text to a System.Net.Mail.MailMessage object? • NUnit integration programmatically with spring

  Hi! I have a component based architecture framework designed and I use NUnit for isolated testing - okay so far. Now I want to enable integration tests. Therefore the tests use real implementations of the existing components. Each element of the component has a life cycle (init, start and stop) and I created a NUnit component. In the start section the Console runner of the NUnit will be executed. Okay - now if I have a test fixture class in my dlls in the execution path the runner exectues them - fine! But: And this is crucial! Each to be tested implementation exists so far in the process and I want to use this instances for testing. If I use NUnit runner in the current way each instance will be created twice - and above all: I have a spring container and a implementation registry. Via this registry I can get access to all instances in the processes. But how do I give the test fixture access to the existing registry? Good: I can start the component architecture framework in the startup of the nunit runner - but this is not what I want. • How can I call a method on a custom object created in JavaScript using C#?

  I have a WebBrowser control. I have added some JavaScript into the head tag and I can see it is working as expected by adding an alert. Inside of this js I am creating a function and adding some members to it's prototype like so: function test() { } test.prototype.run = function() { alert('success!') } function createTest() { return new test() } Then back inside of C# I am doing: dynamic test = this.browser.InvokeScript("createTest"); test.run(); I can see that the test object is some ComObject but when I call run() nothing happens. I get no error but nothing happens. Does anyone know how to call this type of custom object? Also suppose I wanted to get rid of the createTest() method, how can I create a new instance of test from C#? Also, for bonus points, is there anything special I need to know about attaching events to this custom object (on say a 'complete' member) such that it will callback into my C# code?

  I need to parse some large text file and extract Display name and area code only if it matches the following pattern: Line starts with display name (any number of words) Followed by 6 digits (can contain spaces) Followed by #text tag e.g. John doe 123 456 #text some text Display name: John doe Area code: 123 456 Test 123456 #text Display name: Test Area code: 123456 Test 123 #test Invalid, area code contains only 3 digits Test 123456 #test1 Invalid, contains invalid tag Test 123g45 #test Invalid, area code contains letters etc. I know how to open the text file and read it line by line, but having trouble with writing the regular expression.   Hello I'm trying to run JUnit4 test cases on Eclipse 3.4.2 but it's not even starting for me. I am sure that I properly have junit-4.7.jar in my build path and the test application. • How to write own DLL in Visual Studio, C language (not C++)

  Dear all, I'm trying to create my own DLL... I used wizzard in VS2008 to create template for DLL. This works fine and the dll builds successfully (Test.dll is created). BUT, when I rename the file from Test.cpp to Test.c (which I guess causes compilation in C-mode), solution rebuilds also successfully, but no .dll is created. The list of all created files follows: mt.dep BuildLog.htm vc90.idb Test.dll.embed.manifest Test.dll.intermediate.manifest Test.obj MySecondCFile.obj vc90.pdb Test.dll.embed.manifest.res For my purposes it's essential that the dll be in C not C++, while I already have a lot of code written in C, which does not compile as C++. Do you know, why .dll is not created? What should I do?

This works good but I want to add another more folder (obj) to ignore list, it fails. I tried follwings: svn propset svn:ignore "bin obj" Fardis.Test svn propset svn:ignore "bin, obj" Fardis.Test svn propset svn:ignore "bin; obj" Fardis.Test After issuing which one of them, svn status shows that none of folders bin or obj is added to ignore list. I was using the second way fine in one test but in another test the behaviour can not be achieved unless I go with the first way. The first technique behaves as expected by returning a new LoginUser. All other test code used in both cases is identical.

The test just won't start. And it will prompt me "A project with an Output Type of Class Library cannot be started directly. In order to debug this project, add an executable project to this solution which references the library project. Set an executable project as the startup project. Even though I attached the unit test class code to a console program, the test does not start and the test explorer is empty. In the video, it doesn't need to have any running program. The lady only created a class library, and the test will run. what should I do? Note. there is no "create unit test" on the mouse right click menu
