  • Add the view controller in the TabBarController from within one of its viewControllers ?

    - by user550001
    Hi, I am new to iPhone/iPad Developer. I am developing a application using UITabBarController. I have created a tabbarcontroller class in which i have implemented a UITabBarController object through NIB file. there is 4 tab as LoginPage, Category Page, About Us Page, Setting Page. I want to add logout tab in tabbarcontroller after login in Login Page by programmatically and when user will click to logout tab then it back to home/login screen and logout tab will eliminate. So i need a code snippet to add TabBar Item in UITabBarController within its View Controller. Thank you in advance

  • Adding Client Validation To DataAnnotations DataType Attribute

    - by srkirkland
    The System.ComponentModel.DataAnnotations namespace contains a validation attribute called DataTypeAttribute, which takes an enum specifying what data type the given property conforms to.  Here are a few quick examples: public class DataTypeEntity { [DataType(DataType.Date)] public DateTime DateTime { get; set; }   [DataType(DataType.EmailAddress)] public string EmailAddress { get; set; } } .csharpcode, .csharpcode pre { font-size: small; color: black; font-family: consolas, "Courier New", courier, monospace; background-color: #ffffff; /*white-space: pre;*/ } .csharpcode pre { margin: 0em; } .csharpcode .rem { color: #008000; } .csharpcode .kwrd { color: #0000ff; } .csharpcode .str { color: #006080; } .csharpcode .op { color: #0000c0; } .csharpcode .preproc { color: #cc6633; } .csharpcode .asp { background-color: #ffff00; } .csharpcode .html { color: #800000; } .csharpcode .attr { color: #ff0000; } .csharpcode .alt { background-color: #f4f4f4; width: 100%; margin: 0em; } .csharpcode .lnum { color: #606060; } This attribute comes in handy when using ASP.NET MVC, because the type you specify will determine what “template” MVC uses.  Thus, for the DateTime property if you create a partial in Views/[loc]/EditorTemplates/Date.ascx (or cshtml for razor), that view will be used to render the property when using any of the Html.EditorFor() methods. One thing that the DataType() validation attribute does not do is any actual validation.  To see this, let’s take a look at the EmailAddress property above.  It turns out that regardless of the value you provide, the entity will be considered valid: //valid new DataTypeEntity {EmailAddress = "Foo"}; .csharpcode, .csharpcode pre { font-size: small; color: black; font-family: consolas, "Courier New", courier, monospace; background-color: #ffffff; /*white-space: pre;*/ } .csharpcode pre { margin: 0em; } .csharpcode .rem { color: #008000; } .csharpcode .kwrd { color: #0000ff; } .csharpcode .str { color: #006080; } .csharpcode .op { color: #0000c0; } .csharpcode .preproc { color: #cc6633; } .csharpcode .asp { background-color: #ffff00; } .csharpcode .html { color: #800000; } .csharpcode .attr { color: #ff0000; } .csharpcode .alt { background-color: #f4f4f4; width: 100%; margin: 0em; } .csharpcode .lnum { color: #606060; } Hmmm.  Since DataType() doesn’t validate, that leaves us with two options: (1) Create our own attributes for each datatype to validate, like [Date], or (2) add validation into the DataType attribute directly.  In this post, I will show you how to hookup client-side validation to the existing DataType() attribute for a desired type.  From there adding server-side validation would be a breeze and even writing a custom validation attribute would be simple (more on that in future posts). Validation All The Way Down Our goal will be to leave our DataTypeEntity class (from above) untouched, requiring no reference to System.Web.Mvc.  Then we will make an ASP.NET MVC project that allows us to create a new DataTypeEntity and hookup automatic client-side date validation using the suggested “out-of-the-box” jquery.validate bits that are included with ASP.NET MVC 3.  For simplicity I’m going to focus on the only DateTime field, but the concept is generally the same for any other DataType. Building a DataTypeAttribute Adapter To start we will need to build a new validation adapter that we can register using ASP.NET MVC’s DataAnnotationsModelValidatorProvider.RegisterAdapter() method.  This method takes two Type parameters; The first is the attribute we are looking to validate with and the second is an adapter that should subclass System.Web.Mvc.ModelValidator. Since we are extending DataAnnotations we can use the subclass of ModelValidator called DataAnnotationsModelValidator<>.  This takes a generic argument of type DataAnnotations.ValidationAttribute, which lucky for us means the DataTypeAttribute will fit in nicely. So starting from there and implementing the required constructor, we get: public class DataTypeAttributeAdapter : DataAnnotationsModelValidator<DataTypeAttribute> { public DataTypeAttributeAdapter(ModelMetadata metadata, ControllerContext context, DataTypeAttribute attribute) : base(metadata, context, attribute) { } } .csharpcode, .csharpcode pre { font-size: small; color: black; font-family: consolas, "Courier New", courier, monospace; background-color: #ffffff; /*white-space: pre;*/ } .csharpcode pre { margin: 0em; } .csharpcode .rem { color: #008000; } .csharpcode .kwrd { color: #0000ff; } .csharpcode .str { color: #006080; } .csharpcode .op { color: #0000c0; } .csharpcode .preproc { color: #cc6633; } .csharpcode .asp { background-color: #ffff00; } .csharpcode .html { color: #800000; } .csharpcode .attr { color: #ff0000; } .csharpcode .alt { background-color: #f4f4f4; width: 100%; margin: 0em; } .csharpcode .lnum { color: #606060; } Now you have a full-fledged validation adapter, although it doesn’t do anything yet.  There are two methods you can override to add functionality, IEnumerable<ModelValidationResult> Validate(object container) and IEnumerable<ModelClientValidationRule> GetClientValidationRules().  Adding logic to the server-side Validate() method is pretty straightforward, and for this post I’m going to focus on GetClientValidationRules(). Adding a Client Validation Rule Adding client validation is now incredibly easy because jquery.validate is very powerful and already comes with a ton of validators (including date and regular expressions for our email example).  Teamed with the new unobtrusive validation javascript support we can make short work of our ModelClientValidationDateRule: public class ModelClientValidationDateRule : ModelClientValidationRule { public ModelClientValidationDateRule(string errorMessage) { ErrorMessage = errorMessage; ValidationType = "date"; } } .csharpcode, .csharpcode pre { font-size: small; color: black; font-family: consolas, "Courier New", courier, monospace; background-color: #ffffff; /*white-space: pre;*/ } .csharpcode pre { margin: 0em; } .csharpcode .rem { color: #008000; } .csharpcode .kwrd { color: #0000ff; } .csharpcode .str { color: #006080; } .csharpcode .op { color: #0000c0; } .csharpcode .preproc { color: #cc6633; } .csharpcode .asp { background-color: #ffff00; } .csharpcode .html { color: #800000; } .csharpcode .attr { color: #ff0000; } .csharpcode .alt { background-color: #f4f4f4; width: 100%; margin: 0em; } .csharpcode .lnum { color: #606060; } If your validation has additional parameters you can the ValidationParameters IDictionary<string,object> to include them.  There is a little bit of conventions magic going on here, but the distilled version is that we are defining a “date” validation type, which will be included as html5 data-* attributes (specifically data-val-date).  Then jquery.validate.unobtrusive takes this attribute and basically passes it along to jquery.validate, which knows how to handle date validation. Finishing our DataTypeAttribute Adapter Now that we have a model client validation rule, we can return it in the GetClientValidationRules() method of our DataTypeAttributeAdapter created above.  Basically I want to say if DataType.Date was provided, then return the date rule with a given error message (using ValidationAttribute.FormatErrorMessage()).  The entire adapter is below: public class DataTypeAttributeAdapter : DataAnnotationsModelValidator<DataTypeAttribute> { public DataTypeAttributeAdapter(ModelMetadata metadata, ControllerContext context, DataTypeAttribute attribute) : base(metadata, context, attribute) { }   public override System.Collections.Generic.IEnumerable<ModelClientValidationRule> GetClientValidationRules() { if (Attribute.DataType == DataType.Date) { return new[] { new ModelClientValidationDateRule(Attribute.FormatErrorMessage(Metadata.GetDisplayName())) }; }   return base.GetClientValidationRules(); } } .csharpcode, .csharpcode pre { font-size: small; color: black; font-family: consolas, "Courier New", courier, monospace; background-color: #ffffff; /*white-space: pre;*/ } .csharpcode pre { margin: 0em; } .csharpcode .rem { color: #008000; } .csharpcode .kwrd { color: #0000ff; } .csharpcode .str { color: #006080; } .csharpcode .op { color: #0000c0; } .csharpcode .preproc { color: #cc6633; } .csharpcode .asp { background-color: #ffff00; } .csharpcode .html { color: #800000; } .csharpcode .attr { color: #ff0000; } .csharpcode .alt { background-color: #f4f4f4; width: 100%; margin: 0em; } .csharpcode .lnum { color: #606060; } Putting it all together Now that we have an adapter for the DataTypeAttribute, we just need to tell ASP.NET MVC to use it.  The easiest way to do this is to use the built in DataAnnotationsModelValidatorProvider by calling RegisterAdapter() in your global.asax startup method. DataAnnotationsModelValidatorProvider.RegisterAdapter(typeof(DataTypeAttribute), typeof(DataTypeAttributeAdapter)); .csharpcode, .csharpcode pre { font-size: small; color: black; font-family: consolas, "Courier New", courier, monospace; background-color: #ffffff; /*white-space: pre;*/ } .csharpcode pre { margin: 0em; } .csharpcode .rem { color: #008000; } .csharpcode .kwrd { color: #0000ff; } .csharpcode .str { color: #006080; } .csharpcode .op { color: #0000c0; } .csharpcode .preproc { color: #cc6633; } .csharpcode .asp { background-color: #ffff00; } .csharpcode .html { color: #800000; } .csharpcode .attr { color: #ff0000; } .csharpcode .alt { background-color: #f4f4f4; width: 100%; margin: 0em; } .csharpcode .lnum { color: #606060; } Show and Tell Let’s see this in action using a clean ASP.NET MVC 3 project.  First make sure to reference the jquery, jquery.vaidate and jquery.validate.unobtrusive scripts that you will need for client validation. Next, let’s make a model class (note we are using the same built-in DataType() attribute that comes with System.ComponentModel.DataAnnotations). public class DataTypeEntity { [DataType(DataType.Date, ErrorMessage = "Please enter a valid date (ex: 2/14/2011)")] public DateTime DateTime { get; set; } } .csharpcode, .csharpcode pre { font-size: small; color: black; font-family: consolas, "Courier New", courier, monospace; background-color: #ffffff; /*white-space: pre;*/ } .csharpcode pre { margin: 0em; } .csharpcode .rem { color: #008000; } .csharpcode .kwrd { color: #0000ff; } .csharpcode .str { color: #006080; } .csharpcode .op { color: #0000c0; } .csharpcode .preproc { color: #cc6633; } .csharpcode .asp { background-color: #ffff00; } .csharpcode .html { color: #800000; } .csharpcode .attr { color: #ff0000; } .csharpcode .alt { background-color: #f4f4f4; width: 100%; margin: 0em; } .csharpcode .lnum { color: #606060; } Then we make a create page with a strongly-typed DataTypeEntity model, the form section is shown below (notice we are just using EditorForModel): @using (Html.BeginForm()) { @Html.ValidationSummary(true) <fieldset> <legend>Fields</legend>   @Html.EditorForModel()   <p> <input type="submit" value="Create" /> </p> </fieldset> } .csharpcode, .csharpcode pre { font-size: small; color: black; font-family: consolas, "Courier New", courier, monospace; background-color: #ffffff; /*white-space: pre;*/ } .csharpcode pre { margin: 0em; } .csharpcode .rem { color: #008000; } .csharpcode .kwrd { color: #0000ff; } .csharpcode .str { color: #006080; } .csharpcode .op { color: #0000c0; } .csharpcode .preproc { color: #cc6633; } .csharpcode .asp { background-color: #ffff00; } .csharpcode .html { color: #800000; } .csharpcode .attr { color: #ff0000; } .csharpcode .alt { background-color: #f4f4f4; width: 100%; margin: 0em; } .csharpcode .lnum { color: #606060; } The final step is to register the adapter in our global.asax file: DataAnnotationsModelValidatorProvider.RegisterAdapter(typeof(DataTypeAttribute), typeof(DataTypeAttributeAdapter)); Now we are ready to run the page: Looking at the datetime field’s html, we see that our adapter added some data-* validation attributes: <input type="text" value="1/1/0001" name="DateTime" id="DateTime" data-val-required="The DateTime field is required." data-val-date="Please enter a valid date (ex: 2/14/2011)" data-val="true" class="text-box single-line valid"> .csharpcode, .csharpcode pre { font-size: small; color: black; font-family: consolas, "Courier New", courier, monospace; background-color: #ffffff; /*white-space: pre;*/ } .csharpcode pre { margin: 0em; } .csharpcode .rem { color: #008000; } .csharpcode .kwrd { color: #0000ff; } .csharpcode .str { color: #006080; } .csharpcode .op { color: #0000c0; } .csharpcode .preproc { color: #cc6633; } .csharpcode .asp { background-color: #ffff00; } .csharpcode .html { color: #800000; } .csharpcode .attr { color: #ff0000; } .csharpcode .alt { background-color: #f4f4f4; width: 100%; margin: 0em; } .csharpcode .lnum { color: #606060; } Here data-val-required was added automatically because DateTime is non-nullable, and data-val-date was added by our validation adapter.  Now if we try to add an invalid date: Our custom error message is displayed via client-side validation as soon as we tab out of the box.  If we didn’t include a custom validation message, the default DataTypeAttribute “The field {0} is invalid” would have been shown (of course we can change the default as well).  Note we did not specify server-side validation, but in this case we don’t have to because an invalid date will cause a server-side error during model binding. Conclusion I really like how easy it is to register new data annotations model validators, whether they are your own or, as in this post, supplements to existing validation attributes.  I’m still debating about whether adding the validation directly in the DataType attribute is the correct place to put it versus creating a dedicated “Date” validation attribute, but it’s nice to know either option is available and, as we’ve seen, simple to implement. I’m also working through the nascent stages of an open source project that will create validation attribute extensions to the existing data annotations providers using similar techniques as seen above (examples: Email, Url, EqualTo, Min, Max, CreditCard, etc).  Keep an eye on this blog and subscribe to my twitter feed (@srkirkland) if you are interested for announcements.

  • Dotfuscator Deep Dive with WP7

    - by Bil Simser
    I thought I would share some experience with code obfuscation (specifically the Dotfuscator product) and Windows Phone 7 apps. These days twitter is a buzz with black hat and white operations coming out about how the marketplace is insecure and Microsoft failed, blah, blah, blah. So it’s that much more important to protect your intellectual property. You should protect it no matter what when releasing apps into the wild but more so when someone is paying for them. You want to protect the time and effort that went into your code and have some comfort that the casual hacker isn’t going to usurp your next best thing. Enter code obfuscation. Code obfuscation is one tool that can help protect your IP. Basically it goes into your compiled assemblies, rewrites things at an IL level (like renaming methods and classes and hiding logic flow) and rewrites it back so that the assembly or executable is still fully functional but prying eyes using a tool like ILDASM or Reflector can’t see what’s going on.  You can read more about code obfuscation here on Wikipedia. A word to the wise. Code obfuscation isn’t 100% secure. More so on the WP7 platform where the OS expects certain things to be as they were meant to be. So don’t expect 100% obfuscation of every class and every method and every property. It’s just not going to happen. What this does do is give you some level of protection but don’t put all your eggs in one basket and call it done. Like I said, this is just one step in the process. There are a few tools out there that provide code obfuscation and support the Windows Phone 7 platform (see links to other tools at the end of this post). One such tool is Dotfuscator from PreEmptive solutions. The thing about Dotfuscator is that they’ve struck a deal with Microsoft to provide a *free* copy of their commercial product for Windows Phone 7. The only drawback is that it only runs until March 31, 2010. However it’s a good place to start and the focus of this article. Getting Started When you fire up Dotfuscator you’re presented with a dialog to start a new project or load a previous one. We’ll start with a new project. You’re then looking at a somewhat blank screen that shows an Input tab (among others) and you’re probably wondering what to do? Click on the folder icon (first one) and browse to where your xap file is. At this point you can save the project and click on the arrow to start the process. Bam! You’re done. Right? Think again. The program did indeed run and create a new version of your xap (doing it’s thing and rewriting back your *obfuscated* assemblies) but let’s take a look at the assembly in Reflector to see the end result. Remember a xap file is really just a glorified zip file (or cab file if you prefer). When you ran Dotfuscator for the first time with the default settings you’ll see it created a new version of your xap in a folder under “My Documents” called “Dotfuscated” (you can configure the output directory in settings). Here’s the new xap file. Since a xap is just a zip, rename it to .cab or .zip or something and open it with your favorite unarchive program (I use WinRar but it doesn’t matter as long as it can unzip files). If you already have the xap file associated with your unarchive tool the rename isn’t needed. Once renamed extract the contents of the xap to your hard drive: Now you’ll have a folder with the contents of the xap file extracted: Double click or load up your assembly (WindowsPhoneDataBoundApplication1.dll in the example) in Reflector and let’s see the results: Hmm. That doesn’t look right. I can see all the methods and the code is all there for my LoadData method I wanted to protect. Product failure. Let’s return it for a refund. Hold your horses. We need to check out the settings in the program first. Remember when we loaded up our xap file. It started us on the Input tab but there was a settings tab before that. Wonder what it does? Here’s the default settings: Renaming Taking a closer look, all of the settings in Feature are disabled. WTF? Yeah, it leaves me scratching my head why an obfuscator by default doesn’t obfuscate. However it’s a simple fix to change these settings. Let’s enable Renaming as it sounds like a good start. Renaming obscures code by renaming methods and fields to names that are not understandable. Great. Run the tool again and go through the process of unzipping the updated xap and let’s take a look in Reflector again at our project. This looks a lot better. Lots of methods named a, b, c, d, etc. That’ll help slow hackers down a bit. What about our logic that we spent days weeks on? Let’s take a look at the LoadData method: What gives? We have renaming enabled but all of our code is still there. If you look through all your methods you’ll find it’s still sitting there out in the open. Control Flow Back to the settings page again. Let’s enable Control Flow now. Control Flow obfuscation synthesizes branching, conditional, and iterative constructs (such as if, for, and while) that produce valid executable logic, but yield non-deterministic semantic results when decompilation is attempted. In other words, the code runs as before, but decompilers cannot reproduce the original code. Do the dance again and let’s see the results in Reflector. Ahh, that’s better. Methods renamed *and* nobody can look at our LoadData method now. Life is good. More than Minimum This is the bare minimum to obfuscate your xap to at least a somewhat comfortable level. However I did find that while this worked in my Hello World demo, it didn’t work on one of my real world apps. I had to do some extra tweaking with that. Below are the screens that I used on one app that worked. I’m not sure what it was about the app that the approach above didn’t work with (maybe the extra assembly?) but it works and I’m happy with it. YMMV. Remember to test your obfuscated app on your device first before submitting to ensure you haven’t obfuscated the obfuscator. settings tab: rename tab: string encryption tab: premark tab: A few final notes Play with the settings and keep bumping up the bar to try to get as much obfuscation as you can. The more the better but remember you can overdo it. Always (always, always, always) deploy your obfuscated xap to your device and test it before submitting to the marketplace. I didn’t and got rejected because I had gone overboard with the obfuscation so the app wouldn’t launch at all. Not everything is going to be obfuscated. Specifically I don’t see a way to obfuscate auto properties and a few other language features. Again, if you crank the settings up you might hide these but I haven’t spent a lot of time optimizing the process. Some people might say to obfuscate your xaml using string encryption but again, test, test, test. Xaml is picky so too much obfuscation (or any) might disable your app or produce odd rendering effets. Remember, obfuscation is not 100% secure! Don’t rely on it as a sole way of protecting your assets. Other Tools Dotfuscator is one just product and isn’t the end-all be-all to obfuscation so check out others below. For example, Crypto can make it so Reflector doesn’t even recognize the app as a .NET one and won’t open it. Others can encrypt resources and Xaml markup files. Here are some other obfuscators that support the Windows Phone 7 platform. Feel free to give them a try and let people know your experience with them! • SQL SERVER – Import CSV into Database – Transferring File Content into a Database Table using CSVexpress

    - by pinaldave
    One of the most common data integration tasks I run into is a desire to move data from a file into a database table.  Generally the user is familiar with his data, the structure of the file, and the database table, but is unfamiliar with data integration tools and therefore views this task as something that is difficult.  What these users really need is a point and click approach that minimizes the learning curve for the data integration tool.  This is what CSVexpress (www.CSVexpress.com) is all about!  It is based on expressor Studio, a data integration tool I’ve been reviewing over the last several months. With CSVexpress, moving data between data sources can be as simple as providing the database connection details, describing the structure of the incoming and outgoing data and then connecting two pre-programmed operators.   There’s no need to learn the intricacies of the data integration tool or to write code.  Let’s look at an example. Suppose I have a comma separated value data file with data similar to the following, which is a listing of terminated employees that includes their hiring and termination date, department, job description, and final salary. EMP_ID,STRT_DATE,END_DATE,JOB_ID,DEPT_ID,SALARY 102,13-JAN-93,24-JUL-98 17:00,Programmer,60,"$85,000" 101,21-SEP-89,27-OCT-93 17:00,Account Representative,110,"$65,000" 103,28-OCT-93,15-MAR-97 17:00,Account Manager,110,"$75,000" 304,17-FEB-96,19-DEC-99 17:00,Marketing,20,"$45,000" 333,24-MAR-98,31-DEC-99 17:00,Data Entry Clerk,50,"$35,000" 100,17-SEP-87,17-JUN-93 17:00,Administrative Assistant,90,"$40,000" 334,24-MAR-98,31-DEC-98 17:00,Sales Representative,80,"$40,000" 400,01-JAN-99,31-DEC-99 17:00,Sales Manager,80,"$55,000" Notice the concise format used for the date values, the fact that the termination date includes both date and time information, and that the salary is clearly identified as money by the dollar sign and digit grouping.  In moving this data to a database table I want to express the dates using a format that includes the century since it’s obvious that this listing could include employees who left the company in both the 20th and 21st centuries, and I want the salary to be stored as a decimal value without the currency symbol and grouping character.  Most data integration tools would require coding within a transformation operation to effect these changes, but not expressor Studio.  Directives for these modifications are included in the description of the incoming data. Besides starting the expressor Studio tool and opening a project, the first step is to create connection artifacts, which describe to expressor where data is stored.  For this example, two connection artifacts are required: a file connection, which encapsulates the file system location of my file; and a database connection, which encapsulates the database connection information.  With expressor Studio, I use wizards to create these artifacts. First click New Connection > File Connection in the Home tab of expressor Studio’s ribbon bar, which starts the File Connection wizard.  In the first window, I enter the path to the directory that contains the input file.  Note that the file connection artifact only specifies the file system location, not the name of the file. Then I click Next and enter a meaningful name for this connection artifact; clicking Finish closes the wizard and saves the artifact. To create the Database Connection artifact, I must know the location of, or instance name, of the target database and have the credentials of an account with sufficient privileges to write to the target table.  To use expressor Studio’s features to the fullest, this account should also have the authority to create a table. I click the New Connection > Database Connection in the Home tab of expressor Studio’s ribbon bar, which starts the Database Connection wizard.  expressor Studio includes high-performance drivers for many relational database management systems, so I can simply make a selection from the “Supplied database drivers” drop down control.  If my desired RDBMS isn’t listed, I can optionally use an existing ODBC DSN by selecting the “Existing DSN” radio button. In the following window, I enter the connection details.  With Microsoft SQL Server, I may choose to use Windows Authentication rather than rather than account credentials.  After clicking Next, I enter a meaningful name for this connection artifact and clicking Finish closes the wizard and saves the artifact. Now I create a schema artifact, which describes the structure of the file data.  When expressor reads a file, all data fields are typed as strings.  In some use cases this may be exactly what is needed and there is no need to edit the schema artifact.  But in this example, editing the schema artifact will be used to specify how the data should be transformed; that is, reformat the dates to include century designations, change the employee and job ID’s to integers, and convert the salary to a decimal value. Again a wizard is used to create the schema artifact.  I click New Schema > Delimited Schema in the Home tab of expressor Studio’s ribbon bar, which starts the Database Connection wizard.  In the first window, I click Get Data from File, which then displays a listing of the file connections in the project.  When I click on the file connection I previously created, a browse window opens to this file system location; I then select the file and click Open, which imports 10 lines from the file into the wizard. I now view the file’s content and confirm that the appropriate delimiter characters are selected in the “Field Delimiter” and “Record Delimiter” drop down controls; then I click Next. Since the input file includes a header row, I can easily indicate that fields in the file should be identified through the corresponding header value by clicking “Set All Names from Selected Row. “ Alternatively, I could enter a different identifier into the Field Details > Name text box.  I click Next and enter a meaningful name for this schema artifact; clicking Finish closes the wizard and saves the artifact. Now I open the schema artifact in the schema editor.  When I first view the schema’s content, I note that the types of all attributes in the Semantic Type (the right-hand panel) are strings and that the attribute names are the same as the field names in the data file.  To change an attribute’s name and type, I highlight the attribute and click Edit in the Attributes grouping on the Schema > Edit tab of the editor’s ribbon bar.  This opens the Edit Attribute window; I can change the attribute name and select the desired type from the “Data type” drop down control.  In this example, I change the name of each attribute to the name of the corresponding database table column (EmployeeID, StartingDate, TerminationDate, JobDescription, DepartmentID, and FinalSalary).  Then for the EmployeeID and DepartmentID attributes, I select Integer as the data type, for the StartingDate and TerminationDate attributes, I select Datetime as the data type, and for the FinalSalary attribute, I select the Decimal type. But I can do much more in the schema editor.  For the datetime attributes, I can set a constraint that ensures that the data adheres to some predetermined specifications; a starting date must be later than January 1, 1980 (the date on which the company began operations) and a termination date must be earlier than 11:59 PM on December 31, 1999.  I simply select the appropriate constraint and enter the value (1980-01-01 00:00 as the starting date and 1999-12-31 11:59 as the termination date). As a last step in setting up these datetime conversions, I edit the mapping, describing the format of each datetime type in the source file. I highlight the mapping line for the StartingDate attribute and click Edit Mapping in the Mappings grouping on the Schema > Edit tab of the editor’s ribbon bar.  This opens the Edit Mapping window in which I either enter, or select, a format that describes how the datetime values are represented in the file.  Note the use of Y01 as the syntax for the year.  This syntax is the indicator to expressor Studio to derive the century by setting any year later than 01 to the 20th century and any year before 01 to the 21st century.  As each datetime value is read from the file, the year values are transformed into century and year values. For the TerminationDate attribute, my format also indicates that the datetime value includes hours and minutes. And now to the Salary attribute. I open its mapping and in the Edit Mapping window select the Currency tab and the “Use currency” check box.  This indicates that the file data will include the dollar sign (or in Europe the Pound or Euro sign), which should be removed. And on the Grouping tab, I select the “Use grouping” checkbox and enter 3 into the “Group size” text box, a comma into the “Grouping character” text box, and a decimal point into the “Decimal separator” character text box. These entries allow the string to be properly converted into a decimal value. By making these entries into the schema that describes my input file, I’ve specified how I want the data transformed prior to writing to the database table and completely removed the requirement for coding within the data integration application itself. Assembling the data integration application is simple.  Onto the canvas I drag the Read File and Write Table operators, connecting the output of the Read File operator to the input of the Write Table operator. Next, I select the Read File operator and its Properties panel opens on the right-hand side of expressor Studio.  For each property, I can select an appropriate entry from the corresponding drop down control.  Clicking on the button to the right of the “File name” text box opens the file system location specified in the file connection artifact, allowing me to select the appropriate input file.  I indicate also that the first row in the file, the header row, should be skipped, and that any record that fails one of the datetime constraints should be skipped. I then select the Write Table operator and in its Properties panel specify the database connection, normal for the “Mode,” and the “Truncate” and “Create Missing Table” options.  If my target table does not yet exist, expressor will create the table using the information encapsulated in the schema artifact assigned to the operator. The last task needed to complete the application is to create the schema artifact used by the Write Table operator.  This is extremely easy as another wizard is capable of using the schema artifact assigned to the Read Table operator to create a schema artifact for the Write Table operator.  In the Write Table Properties panel, I click the drop down control to the right of the “Schema” property and select “New Table Schema from Upstream Output…” from the drop down menu. The wizard first displays the table description and in its second screen asks me to select the database connection artifact that specifies the RDBMS in which the target table will exist.  The wizard then connects to the RDBMS and retrieves a list of database schemas from which I make a selection.  The fourth screen gives me the opportunity to fine tune the table’s description.  In this example, I set the width of the JobDescription column to a maximum of 40 characters and select money as the type of the LastSalary column.  I also provide the name for the table. This completes development of the application.  The entire application was created through the use of wizards and the required data transformations specified through simple constraints and specifications rather than through coding.  To develop this application, I only needed a basic understanding of expressor Studio, a level of expertise that can be gained by working through a few introductory tutorials.  expressor Studio is as close to a point and click data integration tool as one could want and I urge you to try this product if you have a need to move data between files or from files to database tables. Check out CSVexpress in more detail.  It offers a few basic video tutorials and a preview of expressor Studio 3.5, which will support the reading and writing of data into Salesforce.com. • C# XNA Handle mouse events?

    - by user406470
    I'm making a 2D game engine called Clixel over on GitHub. The problem I have relates to two classes, ClxMouse and ClxButton. In it I have a mouse class - the code for that can be viewed here. ClxMouse using Microsoft.Xna.Framework; using Microsoft.Xna.Framework.Graphics; using Microsoft.Xna.Framework.Input; namespace org.clixel { public class ClxMouse : ClxSprite { private MouseState _curmouse, _lastmouse; public int Sensitivity = 3; public bool Lock = true; public Vector2 Change { get { return new Vector2(_curmouse.X - _lastmouse.X, _curmouse.Y - _lastmouse.Y); } } private int _scrollwheel; public int ScrollWheel { get { return _scrollwheel; } } public bool LeftDown { get { if (_curmouse.LeftButton == ButtonState.Pressed) return true; else return false; } } public bool RightDown { get { if (_curmouse.RightButton == ButtonState.Pressed) return true; else return false; } } public bool MiddleDown { get { if (_curmouse.MiddleButton == ButtonState.Pressed) return true; else return false; } } public bool LeftPressed { get { if (_curmouse.LeftButton == ButtonState.Pressed && _lastmouse.LeftButton == ButtonState.Released) return true; else return false; } } public bool RightPressed { get { if (_curmouse.RightButton == ButtonState.Pressed && _lastmouse.RightButton == ButtonState.Released) return true; else return false; } } public bool MiddlePressed { get { if (_curmouse.MiddleButton == ButtonState.Pressed && _lastmouse.MiddleButton == ButtonState.Released) return true; else return false; } } public bool LeftReleased { get { if (_curmouse.LeftButton == ButtonState.Released && _lastmouse.LeftButton == ButtonState.Pressed) return true; else return false; } } public bool RightReleased { get { if (_curmouse.RightButton == ButtonState.Released && _lastmouse.RightButton == ButtonState.Pressed) return true; else return false; } } public bool MiddleReleased { get { if (_curmouse.MiddleButton == ButtonState.Released && _lastmouse.MiddleButton == ButtonState.Pressed) return true; else return false; } } public MouseState CurMouse { get { return _curmouse; I was looking at normal events on some other sites, (I'd post them but I need more rep.) and didn't really see a good way to implement delegate events into my framework. I'm not really sure how these events work, could someone possibly lay out how these events are processed for me? TL:DR * Is there a better way to handle events like this? * Are events a viable solution to this problem? Thanks in advance for any help.

  • Advanced Web Browsing: hitting next with keyboard (single keystroke)

    - by Dan
    I have a website for class that is literally 1000's of pages long, with a next button at the bottom like this: Prev 1 2 3 4 Next With the following code, if that helps: <a href="javascript:gotoModuleObjective(1,1,34,17, 1, 0);">Prev</a> </td> <td align="center" width="10"> <font color="CC0000">1</font> </td> <td align="center" width="10"> <a href="javascript:gotoModuleObjective(1,24,33,2,1,0);">2</a> </td> <td align="center" width="10"> <a href="javascript:gotoModuleObjective(1,24,33,3,1,0);">3</a> </td> <td align="center" width="10"> <a href="javascript:gotoModuleObjective(1,24,33,4,1,0);">4</a> </td> <td align="right" style="white-space:nowrap;" width="30"> <a href="javascript:gotoModuleObjective(1, 24,33,2, 1, 0);">Next</a> </td> The numbers change depending on where you are. I would like to be able to, from the keyboard, hit the next button. I am using windows, but can switch to any browser, if this is only possible is a given browser. If this can be done with just one keystroke that would be wonderful. Like just hitting the forward arrow would automatically bring click the button called next and bring me to the next page. Is this possible? Thanks, Dan

  • Reduce size of MP4

    - by testing
    I have a MP4 file with a lengh of 22:44. Here are the details: Video: width: 720 px height: 404 px data bitrate: 1022 kBit/s overall bitrate: 1182 kBit/s fps: 24 codec: H264 - MPEG4 AVC (part 10) (avc1) Audio: bitrate: 159 kBit/s stereo sample rate: 48 kHz codec: MPEG AAC Audio (mp4a) I thought I can reduce the current filesize (about 200 MB) by reducing the width and the height (420 x 236). I tried different programs: Handbrake, Format Factory, Next Video Converter and Super. The first three didn't worked as expected: Handbrake has a bug by setting the width and the height, the next two doesn't allow the fine setting of the videosize (only presets of width and height). Super seems to be the best, but I didn't found a setting which reduces the file size. I reduced the width and the height but only got 20 MB less. Now I tried the xth setting and I still get a too high file size. I want to reduce the filesize to 100 MB or less. The ouput format should be FLV or MP4, because I need this for flowplayer. Which settings of SUPER or which program should I use to reduce the file size? Of course the video should still be viewable.

  • Getting this CSS to work in IE6

    - by jerrygarciuh
    Hi folks, Working on this page: http://www.karlsenner.dreamhosters.com/about.php and having trouble with the navigation in IE6. It validates as XHTML 1.0 Transitional. Works great in FF, IE 8, Chrome, and Windows Safari. In IE6 and Opera 10 the drop menus appear too high. I tried adding in the different versions of http://code.google.com/p/ie7-js/ but it did not solve the issue in IE. The CSS looks like this: #wrapper { position: relative; display: block; background-color: inherit; margin: 0px auto; padding: 0; width: 900px; min-height: 900px; } #nav {} .navImage { position:relative; display:inline; height:102px; /* added in hopes of helping IE position but no dice */ } .subMenu { position:absolute; z-index:10; background-color:#FFF; top: 14px; left:0; } .subMenu a:link, .subMenu a:visited, .subMenu a:active{ display:block; width:90%; padding:6px; margin:0; color:#3CF; font-family:Tahoma, Geneva, sans-serif; font-size:14px; text-decoration:none; font-weight:bold; } .subMenu a:hover{ display:block; width:90%; padding:6px; margin:0; color:#3CF; background-color:#CCC; font-family:Tahoma, Geneva, sans-serif; font-size:14px; text-decoration:none; font-weight:bold; } jQuery rollovers: $('#navcompany').hover(function () { $('#companyMenu').css('display', 'block'); $('#companyImg').attr('src','g/nav/company_over.gif'); }, function () { $('#companyMenu').css('display', 'none'); $('#companyImg').attr('src','g/nav/company.gif'); }); And one of the cells. Since the menu is coming out of PHP and IE was not respecting the widths I just use PHP to get the nav image widths and write them to styles on the fly. Solved the width issue as IE acted like they should inherit their width from the wrapper. This may be a clue as to why they don't appear below their nav images but I can't sort it. <div id="navcompany" class="navImage" style="width:128px"> <a href="about.php"> <img src="g/nav/company_over.gif" name="companyImg" width="128" height="102" border="0" id="companyImg" alt="company" /> </a> <div id="companyMenu" class="subMenu" style="display:none; width:128px"> <a href="about.php">About us</a> <a href="location.php">Our location</a> </div> </div> Any advice greatly appreciated! • Dojox grid having problem with Contentpane

    - by ice
    the grid appears properly on template's first loading. But when you click the paging button to load flooders.php thru list_result1() only the paging buttons will appear. I already tested the flooders.php outside the template and it works properly. what seems to be the problem? and what are the tools that i can use to see if the javascript is loading properly because i think the error console of ff browser which i use to track errors won't give you that much info when you are working with contentpane. thanks! ice note: below are the codes... ** from contentpane js function list_result1(){ args=""; uri = "flooders.php" + args; dojo.xhrGet( { url: uri, handleAs: "text", timeout: 500, // Time in milliseconds load: function(response, ioArgs) { //alert(response); dojo.byId("flooders_table").innerHTML = response; return response; }, // The ERROR function will be called in an error case. error: function(response, ioArgs) { console.error("HTTP status code: ", ioArgs.xhr.status); return response; } }); //end of dojo.xhrGet } **flooders.php starts here*** @import "js/dojo-0.9.0/dojo/resources/dojo.css"; @import "js/dojo-0.9.0/dijit/themes/tundra/tundra.css"; @import "js/dojo-0.9.0/dijit/themes/tundra/tundra_rtl.css"; @import "css/ash.css"; @import "js/dojo-0.9.0/dojox/grid/resources/Grid.css"; @import "js/dojo-0.9.0/dojox/grid/resources/tundraGrid.css"; @import "js/dojo-0.9.0/dojo/resources/dojo.css"; @import "js/dojo-0.9.0/dijit/tests/css/dijitTests.css"; .dojoxGridRowEditing td { background-color: #F4FFF4; } .dojoxGrid input, .dojoxGrid select, .dojoxGrid textarea { margin: 0; padding: 0; border-style: none; width: 100%; font-size: 100%; font-family: inherit; } .dojoxGrid input { } .dojoxGrid select { } .dojoxGrid textarea { } #controls { padding: 0px 0; } #controls button { margin-left: 10px; } .myGrid { width: 550px; height: 230px; margin-left: 20px; /* border: 1px solid silver; */ } echo " // it has script heading here (function(){ // some sample data // global var 'data' data = { identifier: 'id', label: 'id', items: [] }; data_list = [ $banlist ]; var rows = $listnum ; var x=1; for(var i=0, l=data_list.length; i // global var 'test_store' test_store = new dojo.data.ItemFileWriteStore({data: data}); })(); // it has ending here "; ?   -- here's the javascript dojo.require("dijit.TitlePane"); dojo.require("dijit.dijit"); dojo.require("dojox.grid.DataGrid"); dojo.require("dojo.data.ItemFileWriteStore"); dojo.require("dojo.parser"); // scan page for widgets and instantiate them dojo.require("dijit.layout.LayoutContainer"); dojo.require("dijit.layout.AccordionContainer"); dojo.require("dijit.layout.ContentPane"); dojo.require("dijit.layout.TabContainer"); dojo.require("dijit.Editor"); dojo.require("dijit._editor.plugins.AlwaysShowToolbar"); dojo.require("dijit._editor.plugins.LinkDialog"); //this must be inlcuded below function() selectCell = { styles: 'text-align: center;', type: dojox.grid.cells.Select }; gridLayout = { defaultCell: { width: 5, styles: 'text-align: right;' }, rows: [ [ { name: 'Mark', width: 3, field: 'col1', editable: true, styles: 'text-align: center;', type: dojox.grid.cells.Bool }, { name: 'Id', width: 3, field: 'id' , editable: false }, { name: 'Username', field: 'col2', editable: false, styles: '', width: '70%' }, { name: 'Reason', field: 'col3', editable: false , styles: '', width: '100%' }, { name: 'Date Banned', field: 'col4', editable: false , styles: '', width: '70%' } ] ] };

  • WPF Combobox binding: can't change selection.

    - by SteveCav
    After wasting hours on this, following on the heels of my Last Problem, I'm starting to feel that Framework 4 is a master of subtle evil, or my PC is haunted. I have three comboboxes and a textbox on a WPF form, and I have an out-of-the-box Subsonic 3 ActiveRecord DAL. When I load this "edit record" form, the comboboxes fill correctly, they select the correct items, and the textbox has the correct text. I can change the TextBox text and save the record just fine, but the comboboxes CANNOT BE CHANGED. The lists drop down and highlight, but when you click on an item, the item selected stays the same. Here's my XAML: <StackPanel Orientation="Horizontal" Margin="10,10,0,0"> <TextBlock Width="80">Asset</TextBlock> <ComboBox Name="cboAsset" Width="180" DisplayMemberPath="AssetName" SelectedValuePath="AssetID" SelectedValue="{Binding AssetID}" ></ComboBox> </StackPanel> <StackPanel Orientation="Horizontal" Margin="10,10,0,0"> <TextBlock Width="80">Status</TextBlock> <ComboBox Name="cboStatus" Width="180" DisplayMemberPath="JobStatusDesc" SelectedValuePath="JobStatusID" SelectedValue="{Binding JobStatusID}" ></ComboBox> </StackPanel> <StackPanel Orientation="Horizontal" Margin="10,10,0,0"> <TextBlock Width="80">Category</TextBlock> <ComboBox Name="cboCategories" Width="180" DisplayMemberPath="CategoryName" SelectedValuePath="JobCategoryID" SelectedValue="{Binding JobCategoryID}" ></ComboBox> </StackPanel> <StackPanel Orientation="Horizontal" Margin="10,10,0,0"> <TextBlock Width="80">Reason</TextBlock> <TextBox Name="txtReason" Width="380" Text="{Binding Reason}"/> </StackPanel> Here are the relevant snips of my code (intJobID is passed in): SvcMgrDAL.Job oJob; IQueryable<SvcMgrDAL.JobCategory> oCategories = SvcMgrDAL.JobCategory.All().OrderBy(x => x.CategoryName); IQueryable<SvcMgrDAL.Asset> oAssets = SvcMgrDAL.Asset.All().OrderBy(x => x.AssetName); IQueryable<SvcMgrDAL.JobStatus> oStatus = SvcMgrDAL.JobStatus.All(); cboCategories.ItemsSource = oCategories; cboStatus.ItemsSource = oStatus; cboAsset.ItemsSource = oAssets; this.JobID = intJobID; oJob = SvcMgrDAL.Job.SingleOrDefault(x => x.JobID == intJobID); this.DataContext = oJob; Things I've tried: -Explicitly setting IsReadOnly="false" and IsSynchronizedWithCurrentItem="True" -Changing the combobox ItemSources from IQueryables to Lists. -Building my own Job object (plain vanilla entity class). -Every binding mode for the comboboxes. The Subsonic DAL doesn't implement INotifyPropertyChanged, but I don't see as it'd need to for simple binding like this. I just want to be able to pick something from the dropdown and save it. Comparing it with my last problem (link at the top of this message), I seem to have something really wierd with data sources going on. Maybe it's a Subsonic thing?

  • Excel Macro Runtime error 428 in Excel 2003

    - by Adam
    Hi I have created a xlt excel template which works fine in Excel 2007 under compatibility mode and shows no errors on compatibility check. The template runs a number of Macros which creates pivot tables and charts. When a colleague tries to run the same xlt on excel 2003 they get a Runtime error 428 (Object does not support this property or method). The runtime error fails at this point; ActiveWorkbook.PivotCaches.Create(SourceType:=xlDatabase, SourceData:= _ "raw!R1C1:R65536C37", Version:=xlPivotTableVersion10).CreatePivotTable _ TableDestination:="Frontpage!R7C1", TableName:="PivotTable2", _ DefaultVersion:=xlPivotTableVersion10 Any help would be appreciated. • Mimicking a HBox / VBox with CSS

    - by Daniel Hai
    I'm an old school tables guy, and am pretty baffled when it comes to modern HTML. I'm trying to something as simple as vertical / horizontal layouts (i.e. Flex's hbox/vbox), but am having major difficulty replicating them. An old table would look something like this for an HBox: <table width="100%" height="100"> <tr valign="middle"> <td nowrap style="background-color:#CCC">I am text on grey</td> <td width="50%" valign="top">displays top</td> <td width="50%" align="right">Autosize Fill (displays bottom right)</td> </tr> </table> Now I'm trying to do this with div's, but to no avail. When using display:inline, I cannot set a percentage width -- it only takes explicit widths. When using float:left, settings 100% percentage width causes it to really be 100% and pushes the next div down. Here's the code I've been playing with: <html> <head> </head> <style type="text/css"> div.test { background-color: #EE9; padding:5px;} body { font-family: Arial; } ul { list-style-type:none; } ul li { float:left; } .hboxinline div { display: inline; } .hboxfloat div { float:left; } .cellA { background-color:#CCC; width:100%; } .cellB { background-color:#DDD; min-width:100; } .cellC { background-color:#EEE; min-width:200; } </style> <body> A = 100%, b = 100, c = 200 <div class="test">old school table <table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"> <tr> <td class="cellA">A</td> <td class="cellB">B</td> <td class="cellC">C</td> </tr> </table></div> <br/> <div class="test"> float:left <div class="hboxinline"> <div class="cellA">A</div> <div class="cellB">B</div> <div class="cellC">C</div> </div> </div> <br/> <div class="test">ul / li <ul class="ulli"> <li class="cellA">A</li> <li class="cellB">B</li> <li class="cellC">C</li> </ul> </div> <br/> <div class="test"> display:inline <div class="hboxfloat"> <div class="cellA">A</div> <div class="cellB">B</div> <div class="cellC">C</div> </div> </div> </body> </html>

  • Pyramind of DIVs

    - by sebastian
    Hi there, I'm trying to build a pyramid that's made of 4 DIVs. The layout looks like this: ------ | #1 | ------ ---------------- | #2 | #3 | #4 | ---------------- Moreover I need 3 additional DIVs starting at the center DIV (#3) and containing either #1, #2 or #3 additionally. These DIVs are used the build a sliding effect with jQueryUI later on. It's supposed to look like #1, #2 and #4 slide out of #3. The margin between the DIVs is supposed to be 2 pixels. I also want the whole block to be centered. Even with display: inline; and position: absolute; enabled on the visible and invisible DIVs I can't get the layout right. I used some negative margins and when it looked ok for the first time I saw that my top DIV was positioned outside of the html body. I suppose there is a more simple and elegant way to achieve what I want. Thanks in advance Sebastian Here's what I've got so far: HTML: <div id="centerbox"> <div id="main">main</div> <div id="rail_top"> <div id="top">top</div> </div> <div id="rail_left"> <div id="left">left</div> </div> <div id="rail_right"> <div id="right">right</div> </div> </div> CSS: #centerbox { height: 602px; width: 904px; margin-top: 640px; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; } /* blue */ #main { background-color: #33F; height: 300px; width: 300px; margin: 2px; z-index: 9999; position: absolute; display: inline; margin-left: 302px; } /* green */ #top { background-color: #3F0; height: 300px; width: 300px; z-index: 1; position: absolute; display: inline; } /* pink */ #left { background-color: #F06; height: 300px; width: 300px; z-index: 1; } /* orange */ #right { background-color: #FC0; height: 300px; width: 300px; z-index: 1; margin-left: 302px; } #rail_top { height: 602px; width: 300px; display: inline; position: absolute; margin-top: -300px; margin-left: 302px; } #rail_left { height: 300px; width: 602px; float: left; position: absolute; display: inline; margin-top: 2px; } #rail_right { height: 300px; width: 602px; float: right; position: absolute; display: inline; margin-left: 302px; margin-top: 2px; }

  • Problem saving as png a SVG generated by Raphael JS in a canvas

    - by ClemDesm
    Hi fellow SOers, I'm trying to convert a SVG generated by Raphael JS (and the user, since you can drag and rotate the images). I followed this Conversion of SVG to Jpeg but still can't get it. It must be easy but I can't put my finger on what I get wrong. I got my svg in a div with #ec as id and the canvas's one is #canvas. function saveDaPicture(){ var img = document.getElementById('canvas').toDataURL("image/png"); $('body').append('<img src="'+img+'"/>'); } $('#save').click(function(){ var svg = $('#ec').html(); alert(svg); canvg('canvas', svg, {renderCallback: saveDaPicture(), ignoreMouse: true, ignoreAnimation: true}); }); The alert gives me : <svg xmlns="http://www.w3.org/2000/svg" version="1.1" width="600" height="512"> <desc>Created with Raphael</desc> <defs></defs> <image x="0" y="0" width="300" height="512" preserveAspectRatio="none" href="imageurl.jpg"></image> <rect x="168" y="275" width="52" height="70" r="0" rx="0" ry="0" fill="none" stroke="#000" stroke-dasharray="8,3" transform="rotate(21.91207728 194 310)" style="opacity: 1; display: none; " opacity="1"></rect> <circle cx="50" cy="50" r="50" fill="none" stroke="#000"></circle> <image x="358" y="10" width="39" height="138" preserveAspectRatio="none" href="imageurl2.png" style="cursor: move; "></image> <image x="397" y="10" width="99" height="153" preserveAspectRatio="none" href="imageurl3.png" style="cursor: move; "></image> <image x="184" y="286" width="10" height="10" preserveAspectRatio="none" href="imageurl4.png" style="cursor: pointer; opacity: 1; display: none; " opacity="1"></image> <image x="204" y="286" width="10" height="10" preserveAspectRatio="none" href="imageurl5.png" style="cursor: pointer; opacity: 1; display: none; " opacity="1"></image> <image x="170" y="277" width="48" height="66" preserveAspectRatio="none" href="imageurl6.png" style="cursor: move; opacity: 1; " r="50" opacity="1" transform="rotate(21.91207728 194 310)"></image> </svg> which is the xml of the svg and if I believe canvg documentation, it's good. Anyway, with this code, the variable img, which should have the converted image data, got the data of an empty png with the dimensions of the svg. The only thing I guess is that the svg generated by Raphael JS is not well formated for canvg (like, href of image should be xlink:href if I follow the W3C recommandations ) Anyone got an idea on this problem ? :D

  • Templates and inheritance

    - by mariusz
    Hello, I have a big problem. I use additional controls for Wpf. One of them is Telerik RadWindow This control is already templated. Now I want to create custom Window with will inherit from RadWindow, and make custom template, eg. One base window will contains grid and two buttons, second base window will contain two grids (master - detail). The problem is that templates do not support inheritance. Perhaps is another way to template only the content of Winodow? My code, that doesn't work (empty window appears, so template doesn't apply) <Style TargetType="{x:Type local:TBaseRjWindow}"> <Setter Property="Template"> <Setter.Value> <ControlTemplate TargetType="{x:Type local:TBaseRjContent}"> <Border Background="{TemplateBinding Background}" BorderBrush="{TemplateBinding BorderBrush}" BorderThickness="{TemplateBinding BorderThickness}"> <Grid Name="mGrid"> <Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <ColumnDefinition /> </Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <Grid.RowDefinitions> <RowDefinition /> <RowDefinition MaxHeight="40" MinHeight="30" /> <RowDefinition MaxHeight="40" MinHeight="30" /> <RowDefinition Height="Auto" /> <RowDefinition MaxHeight="40" MinHeight="30" /> </Grid.RowDefinitions> <telerik:RadGridView Margin="10,10,10,10" Name="grid" Grid.Row="0" Grid.Column="0" VerticalAlignment="Stretch" HorizontalAlignment="Stretch" ScrollMode="Deferred" AutoGenerateColumns="False" Width="Auto" > </telerik:RadGridView> <telerik:RadDataPager Grid.Row="1" Grid.Column="0" x:Name="radDataPager" PageSize="50" AutoEllipsisMode="None" DisplayMode="First, Previous, Next, Text" Margin="10,0,10,0"/> <StackPanel Grid.Row="1" Grid.Column="0" Margin="5 5 5 5" HorizontalAlignment="Left" Orientation="Horizontal" Height="20" Width="Auto" VerticalAlignment="Center" > <telerik:RadButton x:Name="btAdd" Margin="5 0 5 0" Content="Dodaj" /> <telerik:RadButton x:Name="btEdit" Margin="5 0 5 0" Content="Edytuj" /> <telerik:RadButton x:Name="btDelete" Margin="5 0 5 0" Content="Usun" /> </StackPanel> <StackPanel Name="addFields" Background="LightGray" Visibility="Collapsed" VerticalAlignment="Top" Grid.Row="2" Grid.Column="0" Width="Auto" Height="Auto" Orientation="Horizontal"> <GroupBox Header="Szczegoly" Margin="2 2 2 2" > <Grid VerticalAlignment="Top" DataContext="{Binding SelectedItem, ElementName=grid}" Name="_gAddFields" Margin="0 0 0 0" Width="Auto" Height="Auto" > </Grid> </GroupBox> </StackPanel> <StackPanel Grid.Row="3" Grid.Column="0" Margin="5 5 5 5" HorizontalAlignment="Right" Orientation="Horizontal" Height="25" Width="Auto" VerticalAlignment="Center" > <telerik:RadButton x:Name="btSave" IsDefault="True" Width="60" Margin="5 0 5 0" Content="Zapisz" /> <telerik:RadButton x:Name="btOK" IsDefault="True" Width="60" Margin="5 0 5 0" Content="Akceptuj" /> <telerik:RadButton x:Name="btCancel" IsCancel="True" Width="60" Margin="5 0 5 0" Content="Anuluj" /> </StackPanel> </Grid> </Border> </ControlTemplate> </Setter.Value> </Setter> </Style> Please help

  • jquery with ASP.NET MVC - calling ajax enabled web service

    - by dcp
    This is a bit of a continuation of a previous question. Now I'm trying to make a call to an AJAX enabled web service which I have defined within the ASP.NET MVC application (i.e. the MovieService.svc). But the service is never being called in my getMovies javascript function. This same technique of calling the AJAX web service works ok if I try it in a non ASP.NET MVC application, so it makes me wonder if maybe the ASP MVC routes are interfering with things somehow when it tries to make the AJAX web service call. Do you have any idea why my web service isn't getting called? Code below. <script src="<%= ResolveClientUrl("~/scripts/jquery-1.4.2.min.js") %>" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="<%= ResolveClientUrl("~/scripts/grid.locale-en.js") %>" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="<%= ResolveClientUrl("~/scripts/jquery-ui-1.8.1.custom.min.js") %>" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="<%= ResolveClientUrl("~/scripts/jquery.jqGrid.min.js") %>" type="text/javascript"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> var lastsel2; function successFunction(jsondata) { debugger var thegrid = jQuery("#editgrid"); for (var i = 0; i < jsondata.d.length; i++) { thegrid.addRowData(i + 1, jsondata.d[i]); } } function getMovies() { debugger // ***** the MovieService#GetMovies method never gets called $.ajax({ url: 'MovieService.svc/GetMovies', data: "{}", // For empty input data use "{}", dataType: "json", type: "GET", contentType: "application/json; charset=utf-8", success: successFunction }); } jQuery(document).ready(function() { jQuery("#editgrid").jqGrid({ datatype: getMovies, colNames: ['id', 'Movie Name', 'Directed By', 'Release Date', 'IMDB Rating', 'Plot', 'ImageURL'], colModel: [ { name: 'id', index: 'Id', width: 55, sortable: false, hidden: true, editable: false, editoptions: { readonly: true, size: 10} }, { name: 'Movie Name', index: 'Name', width: 250, editable: true, editoptions: { size: 10} }, { name: 'Directed By', index: 'Director', width: 250, align: 'right', editable: true, editoptions: { size: 10} }, { name: 'Release Date', index: 'ReleaseDate', width: 100, align: 'right', editable: true, editoptions: { size: 10} }, { name: 'IMDB Rating', index: 'IMDBUserRating', width: 100, align: 'right', editable: true, editoptions: { size: 10} }, { name: 'Plot', index: 'Plot', width: 150, hidden: false, editable: true, editoptions: { size: 30} }, { name: 'ImageURL', index: 'ImageURL', width: 55, hidden: true, editable: false, editoptions: { readonly: true, size: 10} } ], pager: jQuery('#pager'), rowNum: 5, rowList: [5, 10, 20], sortname: 'id', sortorder: "desc", height: '100%', width: '100%', viewrecords: true, imgpath: '/Content/jqGridCss/redmond/images', caption: 'Movies from 2008', editurl: '/Home/EditMovieData/', caption: 'Movie List' }); $("#bedata").click(function() { var gr = jQuery("#editgrid").jqGrid('getGridParam', 'selrow'); if (gr != null) jQuery("#editgrid").jqGrid('editGridRow', gr, { height: 280, reloadAfterSubmit: false }); else alert("Hey dork, please select a row"); }); }); </script> <h2> <%= Html.Encode(ViewData["Message"]) %></h2> <p> To learn more about ASP.NET MVC visit <a href="http://asp.net/mvc" title="ASP.NET MVC Website"> http://asp.net/mvc</a>. </p> <table id="editgrid"> </table> <div id="pager" style="text-align: center;"> </div> <input type="button" id="bedata" value="Edit Selected" /> Here's my RegisterRoutes code: public static void RegisterRoutes(RouteCollection routes) { routes.IgnoreRoute("{resource}.axd/{*pathInfo}"); routes.IgnoreRoute("*MovieService.svc*"); routes.MapRoute( "Default", // Route name "{controller}/{action}/{id}", // URL with parameters new { controller = "Home", action = "Index", id = "" } // Parameter defaults ); } Here's what my MovieService class looks like: namespace jQueryMVC { [ServiceContract(Namespace = "")] [AspNetCompatibilityRequirements(RequirementsMode = AspNetCompatibilityRequirementsMode.Allowed)] public class MovieService { // Add [WebGet] attribute to use HTTP GET [OperationContract] [WebGet(ResponseFormat = WebMessageFormat.Json)] public IList<Movie> GetMovies() { return Persistence.GetMovies(); } } }

  • Why cant I get a Thumb to be larger on a styled scrollbar in WPF.

    - by Tollo
    I have taken the MSDN templates for styling a scrollbar and have been trying to apply my different styles (Image on each track repeater and separate Image on the thumb) but I am unable to make the thumb change size. I have tried setting the Width on the Track.Thumb style and also in the ControlTemplate of the Thumb itself. For some reason the default size is only ever rendered even when the thumb actually occupies much more space. Does anyone know how to make the thumb render at the size that I want? The XAML I am using for the styles is here: <Style x:Key="ScrollBarThumb" TargetType="{x:Type Thumb}"> <Setter Property="Background" Value="Red" /> <Setter Property="OverridesDefaultStyle" Value="True"/> <Setter Property="Template"> <Setter.Value> <ControlTemplate TargetType="{x:Type Thumb}"> <Image Source="sampleimg.png" Stretch="Fill" /> </ControlTemplate> </Setter.Value> </Setter> </Style> <ControlTemplate x:Key="ArfleHBar" TargetType="{x:Type ScrollBar}"> <Grid > <Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <ColumnDefinition MaxWidth="18"/> <ColumnDefinition Width="0.00001*"/> <ColumnDefinition MaxWidth="18"/> </Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <RepeatButton Grid.Column="0" Style="{StaticResource ScrollBarLineButton}" Width="18" Command="ScrollBar.LineLeftCommand" Content="M 4 0 L 4 8 L 0 4 Z" /> <Track Name="PART_Track" Grid.Column="1" IsDirectionReversed="False" > <Track.DecreaseRepeatButton> <RepeatButton Style="{StaticResource ScrollBarPageButton}" Command="ScrollBar.PageLeftCommand" Width="100"/> </Track.DecreaseRepeatButton> <Track.Thumb> <Thumb Style="{StaticResource ScrollBarThumb}" Margin="0,1,0,1" Width="250" Padding="0,0,0,0"> </Thumb> </Track.Thumb> <Track.IncreaseRepeatButton> <RepeatButton Style="{StaticResource ScrollBarPageButton}" Command="ScrollBar.PageRightCommand" Width="100" /> </Track.IncreaseRepeatButton> </Track> <RepeatButton Grid.Column="3" Style="{StaticResource ScrollBarLineButton}" Width="18" Command="ScrollBar.LineRightCommand" Content="M 0 0 L 4 4 L 0 8 Z"/> </Grid> </ControlTemplate> <Style x:Key="ArfleBar" TargetType="{x:Type ScrollBar}"> <Setter Property="SnapsToDevicePixels" Value="True"/> <Setter Property="OverridesDefaultStyle" Value="true"/> <Style.Triggers> <Trigger Property="Orientation" Value="Horizontal"> <Setter Property="Width" Value="Auto"/> <Setter Property="Height" Value="18" /> <Setter Property="Template" Value="{StaticResource ArfleHBar}" /> </Trigger> </Style.Triggers> </Style>

  • Centering contentplaceholders

    - by gh9
    I have a contentplaceholder which needs to be centered (as close to absolute as possible) to the center of the page. The issue I am having is when, the browser moves to different resolutions the centering is thrown off. I have tried using divs and tables. I have switched out the precent with em units, and still no workie. Any help would be greatly appreciated. My end goal is to have the contentplaceholder always be in the center of page regardless of the resolution of the monitor <div style="width:20%"/> <div style="width:60"> contentplaceholercode </div> <div style="width:20%"/> <table> <tr > <td style="width:20%"> </td> <td style="width:60> </td> <td style="width:20%"> </td> </tr> </table> code for master and code for content page <%@ Master Language="C#" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeBehind="Master.master.cs" Inherits="WorkRecordr.Master" %> <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head runat="server"> <script src="Assets/Scripts/Jqeury1.4.4.js" type="text/javascript"></script> <title></title> <style type="text/css"> body { background-color: #326598; } .outer { width: 100%; border: solid 1px gray; padding: 1px; } .inner { border: solid 1px gray; width: 70%; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; } </style> </head> <body> <div style="text-align: center"> <asp:ContentPlaceHolder ID="head" runat="server"> </asp:ContentPlaceHolder> </div> <form id="form1" runat="server"> <div class="outer"> <div class="inner"> <asp:ContentPlaceHolder ID="ContentPlaceHolder1" runat="server"> </asp:ContentPlaceHolder> </div> </div> </form> </body> </html> <%@ Page Language="C#" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeBehind="test.aspx.cs" Inherits="WorkRecordr.test" MasterPageFile="~/Master.Master" %> <asp:Content ContentPlaceHolderID="ContentPlaceHolder1" runat="server"> aaaaaaaaa***aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa***aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa </asp:Content>

  • How to refresh a GridView?

    - by Daniel
    Hello everyone, I have a GridView which is pretty similar to the Google tutorial, except that I want to add the ImageViews on runtime (via a subactivity). The results are okay, but the layout of the View is messed up: The GridView doesn't fill the content of its parent, what do I have to do to design it properly? Here the code of adding the children: public void initializeWorkbench(GridView gv, Vector<String> items) { Prototype.workbench.setDimension(screenWidth, divider.height()+workbenchArea.height()); Prototype.workbench.activateWorkbench(); // this measures the workbench correctly Log.d(Prototype.TAG, "workbench width: "+Prototype.workbench.getMeasuredWidth()); // 320 Log.d(Prototype.TAG, "workbench height: "+Prototype.workbench.getMeasuredHeight()); // 30 ImageAdapter imgAdapter = new ImageAdapter(this.getContext(), items); gv.setAdapter(imgAdapter); gv.measure(screenWidth, screenHeight); gv.requestLayout(); gv.forceLayout(); Log.d(Prototype.TAG, "gv width: "+gv.getMeasuredWidth()); // 22 Log.d(Prototype.TAG, "gv height: "+gv.getMeasuredHeight()); // 119 Prototype.workbench.setDimension(screenWidth, divider.height()+workbenchArea.height()); } } activateWorkbench, setDimension and measure in the workbench (LinearLayout above the GridView): public void activateWorkbench() { if(this.equals(Prototype.workbench)) { this.setOrientation(VERTICAL); show = true; measure(); } } public void setDimension(int w, int h) { width = w; height = h; this.setLayoutParams(new LinearLayout.LayoutParams(width, height)); this.invalidate(); } private void measure() { if (this.getOrientation() == LinearLayout.VERTICAL) { int h = 0; int w = 0; this.measureChildren(0, 0); for (int i = 0; i < this.getChildCount(); i++) { View v = this.getChildAt(i); h += v.getMeasuredHeight(); w = (w < v.getMeasuredWidth()) ? v.getMeasuredWidth() : w; } if (this.equals(Prototype.tagarea)) height = (h < height) ? height : h; if (this.equals(Prototype.tagarea)) width = (w < width) ? width : w; } this.setMeasuredDimension(width, height); } The ImageAdapter constructor: public ImageAdapter(Context c, Vector<String> items) { mContext = c; boolean mExternalStorageAvailable = false; boolean mExternalStorageWriteable = false; String state = Environment.getExternalStorageState(); if (Environment.MEDIA_MOUNTED.equals(state)) { // We can read and write the media mExternalStorageAvailable = mExternalStorageWriteable = true; } else if (Environment.MEDIA_MOUNTED_READ_ONLY.equals(state)) { // We can only read the media mExternalStorageAvailable = true; mExternalStorageWriteable = false; } else { // Something else is wrong. It may be one of many other states, but // all we need // to know is we can neither read nor write mExternalStorageAvailable = mExternalStorageWriteable = false; } if (mExternalStorageAvailable && mExternalStorageWriteable) { for (String item : items) { File f = new File(item); if (f.exists()) { try { FileInputStream fis = new FileInputStream(f); Bitmap b = BitmapFactory.decodeStream(fis); bitmaps.add(b); files.add(f); } catch (FileNotFoundException e) { Log.e(Prototype.TAG, "", e); } } } } } And the xml layout: <LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent" android:orientation="vertical" android:gravity="bottom" android:paddingLeft="0px" android:paddingTop="0px" android:paddingRight="0px"> <com.unimelb.pt3.ui.TransparentPanel android:id="@+id/workbench" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="10px" android:paddingTop="0px" android:paddingLeft="0px" android:paddingBottom="0px" android:paddingRight="0px"> <GridView xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:id="@+id/gridview" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent" android:columnWidth="90dp" android:numColumns="auto_fit" android:verticalSpacing="10dp" android:horizontalSpacing="10dp" android:stretchMode="columnWidth" android:gravity="center" /> </com.unimelb.pt3.ui.TransparentPanel> </LinearLayout>

  • CSS optimization - extra classes in dom or preprocessor-repetitive styling in css file?

    - by anna.mi
    I'm starting on a fairly large project and I'm considering the option of using LESS for pre-processing my css. the useful thing about LESS is that you can define a mixin that contains for example: .border-radius(@radius) { -webkit-border-radius: @radius; -moz-border-radius: @radius; -o-border-radius: @radius; -ms-border-radius: @radius; border-radius: @radius; } and then use it in a class declaration as .rounded-div { .border-radius(10px); } to get the outputted css as: .rounded-div { -webkit-border-radius: 10px; -moz-border-radius: 10px; -o-border-radius: 10px; -ms-border-radius: 10px; border-radius: 10px; } this is extremely useful in the case of browser prefixes. However this same concept could be used to encapsulate commonly-used css, for example: .column-container { overflow: hidden; display: block; width: 100%; } .column(@width) { float: left; width: @width; } and then use this mixin whenever i need columns in my design: .my-column-outer { .column-container(); background: red; } .my-column-inner { .column(50%); font-color: yellow; } (of course, using the preprocessor we could easily expand this to be much more useful, eg. pass the number of columns and the container width as variables and have LESS determine the width of each column depending on the number of columns and container width!) the problem with this is that when compliled, my final css file would have 100 such declarations, copy&pasted, making the file huge and bloated and repetitive. The alternative to this would be to use a grid system which has predefined classes for each column-layout option, eg .c-50 ( with a "float: left; width:50%;" definition ), .c-33, .c-25 to accomodate for a 2-column, 3-column and 4-column layout and then use these classes to my dom. i really mislike the idea of the extra classes, from experience it results to bloated dom (creating extra divs just to attach the grid classes to). Also the most basic tutorial for html/css would tell you that the dom should be separated from the styling - grid classes are styling related! to me, its the same as attaching a "border-radius-10" class to the .rounded-div example above! on the other hand, the large css file that would result from the repetitive code is also a disadvantage so i guess my question is, which one would you recommend? and which do you use? and, which solution is best for optimization? apart from the larger file size, has there even been any research on whether browser renders multiple classes faster than a large css file, or the other way round? tnx! i'd love to hear your opinion!
