  • Assembly-wide / root-level styles in WPF class library

    I have a C# (2008/.NET 3.5) class library assembly that supports WPF (based on http://dotupdate.wordpress.com/2007/12/05/how-to-add-a-wpf-control-library-template-to-visual-c-express-2008/). I've created several windows, and am now attempting to create a common style set for them. However, as it's a class library (instead of a WPF app), I don't have an app.xaml (and its contained Application & corresponding Application.Resources) in which to store these styles for global access. So: How can I create a top-level set of style definitions that'll be seen by all xaml files in the assembly, given that I do not have app.xaml (see above)? And/or is it possible to add a working app.xaml to a class library? FYI, I did try creating a ResourceDictionary in a ResourceDictionary.xaml file, and include it in each window within a "Window.Resources" block. That turned out to solve the styling of Buttons, etc... but not for the enclosing Window. I can put 'Style="{StaticResource MyWindowStyle}"' in the Window's opening block, and it compiles and shows up in the VS Design window fine, but during actual runtime I get a parse exception (MyWindowStyle could not be found; I'm guessing Visual Studio sees the dictionary included after the line in question, but the CRL does things more sequentially and therefore hasn't loaded the ResourceDictionary yet).

I'm trying to set up the following scenario: +-----+eth0 +-----+ +---+ | VM2 |-----------| VM1 |---------------| H | +-----+ eth1 +-----+eth0 (NAT) +---+ VM2 - Virtual machine from Virtual Box, using Ubuntu VM1 - Virtual machine from Virtual Box, using Ubuntu: I want this to act as a NAT. H - Host, my Windows Vista The dots were just added since after saving the spaces disappear. So if I ping H from VM2, H would receive a different IP address from VM2. Could you give me a step by step on this? All machines are of course 32 bit. Thanks. Would appreciate the help so much.

    I plan to make a set of classic socket functions to simplify their usages. Since i work under windows and linux indifferently i usually make it portable (it's not my first version of this set of functions), but i want to do something different this time and dedicate one version to windows, and one other to linux. With that i wonder for the windows version, if the WSA* functions can have any interest using them instead of the psock ones. I have found nothing about a comparison between them, so if any of you have any idea, suggestion, link or benchmark ?

Here is explained what to do on Windows or Mac, and here I found a guide about how to do it with ubuntu, but it's not working to me (at the end of all the steps, I can't access to the mounted folder). I can access to the storage through Konqueror (I'm using KDE), but I would like to access to it also without it. Any suggestion?

    The following is my route output. eth0 is my wired network and eth1 is my wireless network. Only wired one has access to internet. If I enable wireless, I am not able to access internet, it tries to access via eth1 and I get 404 page of the wireless router. Why does eth1 have higher preference though default is eth0 (link)?   • windows 2008 server spooler problem

    i have one windows 2008 server & windows xp clients. one HP2600n is connected to network with network cable, and installed in server and shared. also same printer is shared on xp cleints. the problem is: once cleints send print it come to the server que and stuck there untill we manually restart printer spooler service. once we restart the service all the prints in QUE prints and after that new prints again stuck in QUE till next manually restart. how can we solve this problem?   • PCs with Wired Connection Keep Losing Internet Connectivity

    I have a U-verse ATT DSL Internet at our church building. Recently, any computer that is plugged into the network via Ethernet keeps losing its internet connectivity. The setup is from the Modem to a Netgear Wireless Router, and from the router to 3 different computers. None of the laptops that use Wifi ever lose internet, just the wired ones, and I end up having to do ipconfig /release and /renew every day to get it back. One computer has Windows 7 and one has Windows XP. Any ideas as to what is going on with our network?

  • Network Computers Not Showing up

    Alright, 3 machines running, two using Ubuntu 11.10 and one on Mac OS X. On the two Ubuntu machines, both have samba installed and configured on the same workgroup, "HOME". On machine 1, I can see all networked machines. On machine 2, I can only see the Mac OS X machine. It doesn't show the other Ubuntu machine. What am I missing on machine 2 to see all networked computers? Any suggestions are welcome. I'm pretty much stumped.

  • Compilig + testing an Android library with the JDK?

    Hi all, I am creating a library for Android that others can include in their own project. So far I have been working on it as a normal Java project with JDK 1.6 setup as system library. This works just fine in Eclipse when I add the android.jar. The issue comes when I try to my build script. I am running Gradle and doing a normal compile and test build cycle. My thoughts were that it does not matter if I compile it with a normal JDK, since this is not a standalone application. The benefits by creating a normal Java project is that Gradle does support this much better. My project also does not contain any UI at all. However, the problem is that of course android.jar and the JDK contains lots of the same classes and I think that this is what messes up my build script. Everything crashes when running the tests (the tests are in the same project under src/test/java). My question is, how should I create this project that is meant to be included in Android projects as a third party library? Should I create it as an Android project in Eclipse even though I am only creating a library that does not use any of the UI features? Also, should the tests be in a separate project?   • Issues running alongside windows and connecting to wireless network

    Okay so I'm trying to get started with ubuntu but I'm encountering a couple problems: When I boot up the CD and try to install, it does not recognize that I have windows 7 installed and just sees it as unallocated space so the only way I've been able to install it is by wiping the drive which was fine, but it'd be nice to be able to boot either. And secondly, I cannot figure out how to get wireless working. When I try to connect on the initial installation process it tells me to connect to my adapter and just asks for a password. I suspect it could be a driver issue but I wouldn't know where to find it. I have an AR9485 atheros adapter and am attempting to run ubuntu 14.04. Thanks

  • How to manage large amounts of delegates and usercallbacks in C# async http library

    I'm coding a .NET library in C# for communicating with XBMC via its JSON RPC interface using HTTP. I coded and released a preliminary version but everything is done synchronously. I then recoded the library to be asynchronous for my own purposes as I was/am building an XBMC remote for WP7. I now want to release the new async library but want to make sure it's nice and tidy before I do. Due to the async nature a user initiates a request, supplies a callback method that matches my delegate and then handles the response once it's been received. The problem I have is that within the library I track a RequestState object for the lifetime of the request, it contains the http request/response as well as the user callback etc. as member variables, this would be fine if only one type of object was coming back but depending on what the user calls they may be returned a list of songs or a list of movies etc. My implementation at the moment uses a single delegate ResponseDataRecieved which has a single parameter which is a simple Object - As this has only be used by me I know which methods return what and when I handle the response I cast said object to the type I know it really is - List, List etc. A third party shouldn't have to do this though - The delegate signature should contain the correct type of object. So then I need a delegate for every type of response data that can be returned to the third party - The specific problem is, how do I handle this gracefully internally - Do I have a bunch of different RequestState objects that each have a different member variable for the different delegates? That doesn't "feel" right. I just don't know how to do this gracefully and cleanly.

    I created a wireless network inside a D-Link DIR-301 connected to a Mac, What I want is that every device to connect to this network if the browser automatically opens instead of the default homepage, it redirects to my website already set in the localhost of the machine which also has the router attached. I'd also like to see that instead of the IP to connect to the site, there will be a "fake" link. What do you advise me? how can I proceed? I state that I am a bit novice in this field, being more a web programmer.

  • What new Unicode functions are there in C++0x?

    It has been mentioned in several sources that C++0x will include better language-level support for Unicode(including types and literals). If the language is going to add these new features, it's only natural to assume that the standard library will as well. However, I am currently unable to find any references to the new standard library. I expected to find out the answer for these answers: Does the new library provide standard methods to convert UTF-8 to UTF-16, etc.? Does the new library allowing writing UTF-8 to files, to the console (or from files, from the console). If so, can we use cout or will we need something else? Does the new library include "basic" functionality such as: discovering the byte count and length of a UTF-8 string, converting to upper-case/lower-case(does this consider the influence of locales?) Finally, are any of these functions are available in any popular compilers such as GCC or Visual Studio? I have tried to look for information, but I can't seem to find anything? I am actually starting to think that maybe these things aren't even decided yet(I am aware that C++0x is a work in progress).

  • Shares not working on boot need to reinstall "File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks" on server every morning to fix

    I had a problem a few days ago see question here: Can no longer access computer or network shares to my server from any other computers on the network The fix that I found does in fact work however when I boot my PC in the morning the shares are no longer working, to fix this I need to remote desktop into the server and re-install "File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks" on the main adaptor. Doing this makes the shares work again, however it is anoying to have to do this each and every morning. On top of this my offline files are no longer available offline: I store my user profile on the server and had them selected to be "Always Available" however since this has happened they are no longer available offline and the option to make them available offline from the context menu is no longer available. Another problem, and I don't know if this is the cause or just a tell of a deeper issue but this server runs hyper-v, since these problems I can no longer remote desktop into the hyper-v client.   • Can't load Wordpress static files on home network

    I've just installed Wordpress 3.5 on my laptop (LAMP on Ubuntu 12.10) and when I'm trying to access the site from my phone but it doesn't load static files (css and images). I tried with Opera Mobile Emulator on my laptop and it works perfectly. I also have another Drupal site on my localhost which I can load from my phone without any issues. Both directories have chmod 777 permissions. What can cause that? Just tried to open the site from my sister's laptop but it except static file I can't access any post or page.

  • Does implementing a Java class under an open-source library's package name constitutes a modificatio

    Greetings, I understand that this is not the best forum for getting legal advices. But I am still wondering if anybody has some experience around this topic, or can point me to relevant resources that explain it. I have tried to search it online but could not find clear answers. Assuming I am using a Java open-source library from "somecompany", specifically its entities in the "org.somecompany.somepackage". During development, I found that I need to access some of the internals of that package that are not exposed through its public interface. So I thought maybe creating my own classes under the same "org.somecompany.somepackage" name would make that easier. My question is: does this constitutes a modification of the open-source library? The fully qualified name of my classes look like "org.somecompany.somepackage.myclass". It does seem an "extension" of the original library, even though I am not modifying the original library source or binary. I am also not adding my classes to the open-source jar files. Any advice or pointer to resources will be appreciated!
