• Multiple MySQL instances via mysqlmanager under Debian

  Has anyone got multiple MySQL instances running on Debian with mysqlmanager? Problem is, Debian doesn't ship with init.d script that takes mysqlmanager into account. Oh, and it doesn't work for me. I'm trying to run 3 instances, here's what I get after starting mysqlmanager # mysqlmanager --defaults-file=/etc/mysql/my.cnf ... 090614 0:42:10 starting instance 'mysqld2'... 090614 0:42:10 guardian: starting instance 'mysqld1'... 090614 0:42:10 starting instance 'mysqld1'... 090614 0:42:10 starting instance 'mysqld3'... 090614 0:42:10 guardian: starting instance 'mysqld3'... 090614 0:42:10 guardian: starting instance 'mysqld2'... 090614 0:42:10 starting instance 'mysqld2'... 090614 0:42:10 guardian: starting instance 'mysqld1'... 090614 0:42:10 starting instance 'mysqld1'... ... • Web Filter For Multiple Networks

  I have been using a Barracuda web filter 310 in our network and I have just had enough of it. It does not support trunking and we have several networks that have users that need to be web filtered. (I guess if everyone just did their flippin jobs I would not have this issue) but the management wants me to get it resolved. Does anyone know the top five web filters that are better than the barracuda web filters that support network trunking so that I can have multiple domains and subnets going through it? • Multiple SSH private keys for the same host

  How can I store 2 different private SSH keys for the same host? I have tried 2 entries in /etc/ssh/ssh_config for the same host with the different keys, and I've also tried to put both keys in the same file and referencing it from one hosts setting, however both do not work. More detail: I'm running Ubuntu server (12.04) and I want to connect to GitHub via SSH to download the latest source for my projects. There are multiple projects running on the same server and each project has a GitHub repo with it's own unique deloyment key-pair. So the host is always the same (github.com) but the keys need to be different depending on which repo I'm using. Different /etc/ssh/ssh_config versions I have tried: Host github.com IdentityFile /etc/ssh/my_project_1_github_deploy_key StrictHostKeyChecking no Host github.com IdentityFile /etc/ssh/my_project_2_github_deploy_key StrictHostKeyChecking no and this with both keys in the same file: Host github.com IdentityFile /etc/ssh/my_project_github_deploy_keys StrictHostKeyChecking no I've had no luck with either. • Windows XP, USB-Stick and multiple Partitions

  Hello. I've got an USB-Stick with multiple Partitions on it (FAT32 (active), FAT32, Ext2 <-- that's another story) and it seems like that my Windows XP can only mount the first partition of the stick. If I try to mount the second one using the volume manager it tells me that I need to make it active and reboot...is it really that limited or am I just missing something here? Partitions: FAT32, System Rescue CD, bootable and active FAT32, some tools ext2, some data (I know that I need extra drivers etc., but that's not asked here. Edit (Solution): Thanks to the answer with the RMB (ReMoveable Bit) I was able to dig up a solution described at this site (Section: On flash drive only the first partition works). Basically, there's an Hitachi Driver available which filters the RMB on Driver-Level, which just needs to be a little modified to function with basically every USB-Stick. All you need to do is adding the "Device Instance ID" to the driver and then use this driver.

  I would like to make a script which can maintain multiple servers via SSH. I want to control the authentication/authorization in such a manner that authentication is done by gateway and any other access is routed through this ssh server to internal services without any further authentication/authorization requirements. So if a user A can log into server_1 for example. He can then ssh to server_2 without any other authentication and do what ever he is allowed to do on server_2 (like shut down mysql, upgrade it and restart it. This could be done via some remote shell script). The problem that I am trying to solve is to come up with a deployment script for a JavaEE system which involves databases and tomcat instances. They need to be shutdown and re-spawned. The requirement is to have a deployment script which has minimal human interaction as possible for both developers and operation.

  The router in my LAN closet does 2 and 5 GHz. In the kitchen, I have a single-band 2 GHz WAP, and in the garden shed I have another single-band 2 GHz WAP. All are set to Bandwidth = 40 MHz, Wireless Network Mode = N-Only. The kitchen WAP and the LAN closet router both come up with multiple bars on my smart phone from almost anywhere in the house. The garden shed WAP will register one bar... but only sometimes. The Questions: Are these things in danger of butting heads? Should I re-set them to Bandwidth = 20 MHz? Bandwidth = Auto? Are there any tools that I could use on an Android smart phone, iPod, or WiFi-enabled laptop to make my own analysis?

  Possible Duplicate: Multiple SSL domains on the same IP address and same port? I have the following situation: first domain: test.domain.com IP: 1.2.3.4 Port: 443 SSL: Purchased from godaddy and specific to that domain Works fine no issues. I would like to add another site: test2.domain.com IP: the same Port: can be different SSL: different since I can't use the SSL above because it's specific to the site above. Now, when I add the HTTPS binding to the second site with IP:Port combination it appears to always load the first SSL ignoring the second certificate. How can I add second SSL binding to the same IP using a "different" certificate? Can this be done?

• Outlook 2010 - Downloads same messages multiple times when opening

  I run multiple POP mailboxes, and have the 'Leave copy of messages on server' set for 20 days. I have been working like this for several years. However, I have just this week upgraded to Outlook 2010, and for some reason a couple of the mailboxes are downloading all the messages again, each time I open outlook. I have gone through all the settings but I can't see anything obvious, and apart from the upgrade to 2010, I havent touched any settings (2010 imported everything from 2007). I use webmail when away from my PC, hence why I leave a copy of emails on the server. Any ideas? It only downloads when Outlook first opens, thankfully not every time I do a send/receive.

• Splitting Multiple Files in Windows

  We have a 21TB LUN full of images that are approx 600K in size in multiple sub folders on the disk. We are trying to split the 21TB LUN into 8 smaller LUNs that are about 2.6TB a piece in order to process the images more effectively. My question is how we can determine what 2.6TB is on the drive? What is the best tool to mark this data so we can copy it to the new smaller LUNs with robocopy or emcopy without overfilling the smaller LUNs? Is there a third-party tool that would be better suited for this task? Thank you in advance for your assistance.

• Multiple SMTP servers in Thunderbird3

  Situation: 2 mail accounts - each with its own pop3 and smtp servers, accesed normally. Except, when using Vodafone mobile network (you know, those usb or pcmcia cards ...) in which case mails are send using Vodafone's SMTP server. I configured both accounts in thunderbird for their default servers, and then added under multiple identities, another called Name of User (mobile) for each account. And it works. Except, I don't like the fact that when I send mail using mobile smtp server it sends them under Name of User (mobile) <-- the mobile part being important. I could of course, delete that part, but then when sending mail, I'd have no way of differenting between the two. They'd both look as Name of User email@address_of_user.com. So, what would be the easiest way to solve this ? It is not a major problem, but it is annoying.

  Hi, I was wondering if there is a convenient way in linux/unix to read multiple log files as one. More specifically, I would like to view a sequence of log files (app.log, app.log.1 app.log.2, etc) as one big file using normal unix tools (vi, less, etc). When the EOF is read the tool will automatically move to the beginning of the next file. During my work I have to analyze uat/prod logs to investigate and solve problems. The fact that I need to traverse many log files disturbs my work and causes delays. Any ideas?

  I am currently testing BT sync, and really like it. However, I cannot find much of the technical detail regarding to how it works. I wonder did anyone know that is the program take advantage of multiple peers connection? For example, if I have a File A(FA), which exist in Computer 1 (C1) and Computer 2 (C2). If I set up a sync from C1 and C2 to a folder in Computer 3 (C3), will I get a better sync up time because I can get FA from 2 sources at the same time (of course, assume I have enough downstream)?

• How can one automatically logon to multiple user accounts in Windows 2008 R2

  We are running a Windows 2008 R2 Terminal Server. Currently, we have local admin accounts created, one for each client that runs our software (SiteA, SiteB, etc). We need these user accounts to auto logon if the server is rebooted. The accounts need to run a full user environment, as we will login remotely at times via TeamViewer to check processes and makes changes, etc. We are using the Registry Hack method now, but that only allows one account to logon. I've seen a program called LogonExpert, but I've never heard of it so I don't know how trust worthy it is, etc. Is there any other way to auto logon to multiple accounts in our environment? Currently the users are local users, but we could make them domain users if that is required.

  Hello, my university just limited bandwidth to 512 kbps (that's 64 kB/s!) for each connection. I was thinking to make multiple connection to the same wireless network (called "internet"), is this possible under Windows 7? I know it's possible to connect to more than one WLAN through the "hostednetwork" concept in netsh: netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid=xxxxx netsh wlan start hostednetwork However this method doesn't seem to work, I don't know if it's due to the authentication method (through certificates while hostednetwork seems to support just a "passphrase") or because I'm already connected to that network with the same MAC. Can you think to some tool able to do this?

I make the new config, then create config per every server (placing correct IP), and next: upload them on every server, replacing old ones (rsync over ssh) set on every server a job which reloads webserver at the same time (servers use ntp). - this done by issuing commands by script (to save time for logging in) before adding a job for server reload - there's checksum test of the config on the server) - an a notification in case of fail How do you see such method? • HD Radeon 6950 cannot run multiple monitors

  I'm having troubles getting multiple monitors to run on my graphics card. I plug one via the hdmi, and one into the DVI (I have tried both available DVI ports). with one DVI port it does not even register the monitor, with the second one I go into the Catalyst Control Center and it gives me the option to swap between the HDMI and the DVI port. I guess since this is the flex edition I could just go get 2 DSP to HDMI converters, plug 2 monitors in through the available DSP, and than the 3rd one into the HDMI, but do you have any idea why it will not let me run one HDMI and one DVI?

• Wireless Connection unstable with multiple devices connected

  My wireless network works perfectly when only 1 device is connected. Super fast, full strength. But as soon as multiple devices are connected to the wireless network the connections become unstable (constantly losing connection with the internet, not the network itself). It's quite annoying. I have a Sitecom Wireless 300N XR Gigabit Router WL-306, which should be a decent router so I'm guessing there must be something wrong with my configuration. • Filtering ToDo List in Outlook 2010 with multiple Exchange accounts

  I'm trying to figure out how to get the ToDo list filtered for just one account? I've tried customizing the view, and using the advanced filter to get just one Oulook Data file, but once I do that the filter goes bonkers and I get all sorts of results! I know it's a combination of email flags and true tasks, and tried combining filters to pull those conditions together, and simply can't get it to cooperate. Before 2010, when the only way to get multiple mailboxes was to add additional mailboxes to the primary account, the task list pulled from just the primary account - but of course, the secondary accounts are not cached and available offline.

• Freenas & LDAP Multiple User Groups Not Taking Affect

  we are using, Freenas 9.2.1.7 which communicates with LDAP to control file permission. We have Windows users in multiple groups. Some belong to Finance as their primary group and Admin as another group they belong to. They can only access files from their Primary group. We use LDAP Account Manager - 4.4 to control which group the users belong to. We have also been trying to control access from the command line. We hae tried using this : setfacl -m group@:rwWxpaRc::allow DIR / Or File Name The problem is only the primary group is being seen / used. I am trying to determine why only on group is being used.   I'm trying to copy some directories from a server before I restore from backup (my latest backup was corrupt, so I have to use an older one :( ). I'm in the Windows Recovery Environment and have access to the server's file system G:\ and my backup media C:\. But, since I'm more familiar with Linux, I'm having a bit of trouble with the command line in Windows, specifically robocopy. I want to copy multiple directories (maintaining the same directory structure) from G:\ to C:\ while excluding others (namely, the Windows and Program Files folders). • Encrypt backups with GPG to multiple tapes

  Currently, I use tar to write my backups (ntbackup files) to a tape drive fed by an autoloader. Ex: tar -F /root/advancetape -cvf /dev/st0 *.bkf (/root/advancetape just has the logic to advance to the next tape if there is one available or notify to swap the tapes out) I was recently handed the requirement to encrypt our tape backups. I can easily encrypt the data with no problems using GPG. The problem I'm having is how do I write this to multiple tapes with the same logic that tar uses to advance the tapes once the current one is filled? I cannot write the encrypted file to disk first (2+TB). As far as I can tell, tar will not accept binary input from stdin (it's looking for file names). Any ideas? :(

  I upgraded from Fedora 14 to 16, recently. I had two static IP v4 addresses configured on my ethernet interface by creating two files in /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts: ifcfg-eth0 -> first address ifcfg-eth0:1 -> second address After the upgrade, this resulted in an error message during the boot process and in only the second address being successfully configured on the interface. So, what is the correct way to configure multiple addresses on a single interface on Fedora 16? I could not find anything on this subject in the documentation so far.
