• Algorithm: Find smallest subset containing K 0's

  I have array of 1's and 0's only. Now I want to find contiguous subset/subarray which contains at least K 0's. Example Array is 1 1 0 1 1 0 1 1 0 0 0 0 1 0 1 1 0 0 0 1 1 0 0 1 0 0 0 and K(6) should be 0 0 1 0 1 1 0 0 0 or 0 0 0 0 1 0 1 1 0.... • ASUS N550 laptop not charging on ubuntu after updating kernel

  I'm using Ubuntu 13.10 on a pretty new ASUS N550jv laptop. When I was using kernel linux-image-3.11.0-11 everything was quite well (kinda..), however, when I updated the kernel using the automatic update, the kernels which were released afterwards (12+) were faulty on my machine, and caused the battery not to be charged and only stay at their current charging level (even when the machine was off!) The only fix I had was to roll-back to the '..11' version (on boot screen - advanced options), and hard-reboot (AC cord disconnected and reconnected) but now version 14 was released and "pushed away" the good old version 11. How can I fix that?? Please help me...

I thought I could do some self-joins to deal with this, but I am worried in the cases where the non-key fields have the same data in multiple rows.

• Problem with joining to an empty table

  I use the following query: select * from A LEFT JOIN B on ( A.t_id != B.t_id) to get all the records in A that are not in B. The results are fine except when table B is completely empty, but then I do not get any records, even from table A. Later It wont work yet! The src is in usermuralentry directly, the dst list are in usermuralentry_user. So, a entry can have one src and many dst.   I have a ArrayList returned from a service which contains date-timestamp as String values (with values: 2010-05-06T23:38:18,2010-05-06T23:32:52,2010-04-28T18:23:06,2010-04-27T20:34:02,2010-04-27T20:37:02) to be more specific, This is part of a parent ArrayList ObjectHistory. This list contains the datestamp and serial number. I need to pick the correct serial number. Objecthistory is the List object and I need to get the latest timestamp within this ObjectHistory. I need to pick the latest timestamp from this Arraylist in Java 6. How should I be doing this? Should I do convert these values into calendar-time? I am in panic mode as this has to be done directly in production.

• Unity – Part 5: Injecting Values

  Introduction This is the fifth post on Unity. You can find the introductory post here, the second post, on dependency injection here, a third one on Aspect Oriented Programming (AOP) here and the latest so far, on writing custom extensions, here. This time we will talk about injecting simple values. An Inversion of Control (IoC) / Dependency Injector (DI) container like Unity can be used for things other than injecting complex class dependencies. It can also be used for setting property values or method/constructor parameters whenever a class is built. The main difference is that these values do not have a lifetime manager associated with them and do not come from the regular IoC registration store. Unlike, for instance, MEF, Unity won’t let you register as a dependency a string or an integer, so you have to take a different approach, which I will describe in this post. The implementation will even try to convert the value to its declared destination, for example, if the destination property is an Int32, it will try to convert the appSettings stored string to an Int32. For more advanced behavior, you can add a TypeConverterName attribute to the appSettings declaration, where you can pass an assembly qualified name of a class that inherits from TypeConverter. This class will be responsible for converting the appSettings value to a destination type. • Wifi not working after a few minutes

  I'm using a few MacBooks and iPads connected to a router via WiFi. The problem is that a few minutes after they connect via WiFi the connection stops working. This happens on all devices. I went into the router settings by connecting via cable and everything seems in order. Connecting a laptop via cable to the router I can use internet as normal, the problem is only with WiFi. What can be the problem here? • Does Apache ever give incorrect "out of threads" errors?

  Lately our Apache web server has been giving us this error multiple times per day: [Tue Apr 06 01:07:10 2010] [error] Server ran out of threads to serve requests. Consider raising the ThreadsPerChild setting We raised our ThreadsPerChild setting from 50 to 100, but we still get the error. Since the Apache server runs as a separate process and the database doesn't record any problems when this error occurs, I'm doubtful that Oracle is the problem. Unfortunately, the errors are freaking out our sysadmins, who are inclined to blame any and all problems which occur with the server on this error. Is this a known bug in Apache that I simply haven't been able to find any reference to through Google?

  I’m trying to improve my TCP throughput over a “gigabit network with lots of connections and high traffic of small packets”. My server OS is Ubuntu 11.10 Server 64bit. There are about 50.000 (and growing) clients connected to my server through TCP Sockets (all on the same port). 95% of of my packets have size of 1-150 bytes (TCP header and payload). The rest 5% vary from 150 up to 4096+ bytes. With the config below my server can handle traffic up to 30 Mbps (full duplex). Can you please advice best practice to tune OS for my needs? • Postfix MySql Dovecot - SMTP Authentication Failure

  Hello I have a Postfix setup with Dovecot and MySql. The server is running Debian Squeeze. The MySql server is a slave that has data pushed to it from a primary (postfix) mail server(running a different os). The emails are stored on a replicated GlusterFS volume. I am able to check email using thunderbird over IMAP. However, SMTP requests fail. After turning on query logs for the MySql server I have noticed that no query statement is executed to retrieve the user information when an SMTP client tries to authenticate. I'd like to know what I'm doing wrong or what the next troubleshooting steps are. I'm about to pull my hair out. Below is some log and configuration data that I thought would be relevant.   So I cannot connect to certain websites. Just a few, most are OK. The one I really care about is paypal.com. I have done the usual things.
