  • Web based Apache VHost config dump

    - by childno.de
Is there a native way to get a simple HTML / XML & XSD output for Apache VHost and Directives? On console I write: apachectl -S If there is no native one, is there an (open) Script / Tool (php, perl, etc.) managing this. I'm NOT looking for server management but just for a "server config overview" which might be (iframe) included in a wiki page for references on different development machines.

  • CentOS I/O blocking flushing dirtypages

    - by user3662224
I have an Apache webserver on CentOS. It is not doing anything fantastic or complicated at all but it does at intervals experience a high load (120 for 4 CPUs) for some reason. During this time I see high waits and write durations. I have narrowed this down to flushing of dirtypages to disk to make room for new data. I have tried many things and talked to the developers who are also puzzled by this. I am stumped. Details: vmware virtual guest server 4 cpus 12G RAM Apache PHP I have 40 servers in this cluster that share the same disk structure. Only the webservers are experiencing this issue. Any ideas?

  • Glassfish JSF/EAR Apache 2.2 proxy_ajp_mod Referred Content Missing (images/links/etc)

    - by BillR
Full disclosure: Since this seems to be more of a configuration issue, I deleted this from Stack (where it wasn't getting any response) and reposted here. The problem is how to change the requestContextPath served up by Glassfish behind mod_proxy_ajp. The site/app runs fine if connecting directly to Glassfish port 8080 which is ultimately not what I want to do. So I need help with configuration for my servers and jsf deployment. I can see the issue but don't know how to resolve it. It has to do with the requestContextPath. Simply put, Apache directs to http://mysite.com/welcome.xhtml which is correct and what I want, but the page is minus the images and styles. The issue is Glassfish itself is still pointing to http://mysite.com/myapp/*. So all links it serves in the app/site still refer via the requestContextPath. That is the /myapp/* part of http://mysite.com/myapp/welcome.xhtml. When I look in the page source, images which are referred to with relative links still point to the requestContextPath (that is, /myapp/). This is fixable but a real pain. However with page links I can't set the relative path. If I hover over the contact page link I see http://mysite.com/myapp/contact.xhtml, and if I click it, I get 404. You can see the /myapp/ context path in the page source as well. If I type in the URL http://mysite.com/contact.xhtml I get the page minus its referred links (requestContextPath). On Apache ProxyPass / ajp://littlewalterserver:8009/myapp-web/ ProxyPassReverse / ajp://littlewalterserver:8009/myapp_Project-web On Glassfish asadmin create-network-listener --listenerport 8009 --protocol http-listener-1 --jkenabled true jk-connector I have tried going in to Glassfish and setting the web app as the default web app. I have changed the / in glassfish-web.xml (and checked to make sure it was the same in the EAR file). How can I get Glassfish to not include the /myapp/ context in the URLs? This has to be easy if you know how, but I don't know how, can someone help out here? Thanks.

  • Unable to use strong encryption

    - by user224299
So I am exploring Apache to create a simple example: the default page and a directory "secure". I everyone to be able to access the server but, when one wants to access the "secure" directory, I the connection to use strong encryption. I am using apache2.4. However this is not working and I don't know why! I have done just like in the Apache tutorial: LoadModule ssl_module /usr/lib/apache2/modules/mod_ssl.so <VirtualHost *:443> SSLEngine on SSLCertificateFile /home/vitorpereira/Desktop/cert.cer SSLCertificateKeyFile /home/vitorpereira/Desktop/key.key </VirtualHost> SSLCipherSuite ALL:!ADH:RC4+RSA:+HIGH:+MEDIUM:+LOW:+SSLv2:+EXP:+eNULL <Location /var/www/html/secure> SSLCipherSuite HIGH:!aNULL:!MD5 </Location> But this does not work :/ And, I can access the secure folder with http but when I write https, it says not found!

  • Deploying war files in tomcat6

    - by user3215
I am using tomcat5.5 for a long on ubuntu servers 8.10 and 9.10 and '/usr/share/tomcat/webapps/' is the path where I place my .war files and access them on the browser over network. On a sytem I've installed tomcat6 and I'm failing to find that where do I place my .war file of tomcat6's webapps. I checked deploying war under /var/lib/tomcat6/webapps/ and the war file is extracted and I think this should be the location but I could not access the page when I tried http://serverip:8080/myapp. I could access the default page properly when I navigate to http://serverip:8080. The same war file is working fine on tomcat servers which were not installed from apt repository. • Apache on linux : spawning processes or threads ?

    - by Jerome WAGNER
Hello, I would like to understand better exactly what is going on when Apache on linux receive an HTTP request in a process pre-fork model. Let's say we have 20 Apache child processes waiting. When I receive an HTTP request, is it true to say that 1 child process will be chosen to handle the request and that this process won't handle another request from another user until the first one is finished ? I am asking the question because of a PHP limitation that states : The locale information is maintained per process, not per thread. If you are running PHP on a multithreaded server API like IIS or Apache on Windows, you may experience sudden changes in locale settings while a script is running, though the script itself never called setlocale(). This happens due to other scripts running in different threads of the same process at the same time, changing the process-wide locale using setlocale(). Thanks Jerome Wagner

  • How to ask BeanUtils to ignore null values

    - by Calm Storm
Using Commons beanUtils I would like to know how to ask any converter say the Dateconverter to ignore null values and use null as default. As an example consider a public class, public class X { private Date date1; private String string1; //add public getters and setters } and my convertertest as, public class Apache { @Test public void testSimple() throws Exception { X x1 = new X(), x2 = new X(); x1.setString1("X"); x1.setDate1(null); org.apache.commons.beanutils.BeanUtils.copyProperties(x2, x1); //throws ConversionException System.out.println(x2.getString1()); System.out.println(x2.getDate1()); } } The above throws a NPE since the date happens to be null. This looks a very primitive scenario to me which should be handled by default (as in, I would expect x2 to have null value for date1). The doco tells me that I can ask the converter to do this. Can someone point me as to the best way for doing this ? I dont want to get hold of the Converter and isUseDefault() to be true because then I have to do it for all Date, Enum and many other converters !

  • Logging with Quartz.net

    - by Young Ninja
I will shamelessly state that I have little experience with Log4Net... I only just installed it, but it won't capture log events from Quartz.net, which is a scheduling library. • Disabling compression for IE pre SP2 with Apache mod_rewrite

    - by Ra y Mon
I am trying to replicate this fix ( http://sebduggan.com/posts/ie6-gzip-bug-solved-using-isapi-rewrite ) with Apache mod_rewrite, but with no success... Can somebody help me translate those ISAPI rules to APACHE mod_rewrite? I don't know how to 'translate' those rules... My objective is to avoid sending compressed css and js when the user has an XP version prior to SP2, since there is a bug that prevents IE6&7 under SP1 to read the gzipped CSSs of my website BuscoUnViaje.com The rules I am trying to 'translate' to Apache mod_rewrite: RewriteCond %{HTTP:User-Agent} MSIE\ [56] RewriteCond %{HTTP:User-Agent} !SV1 RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} \.(css|js)$ RewriteHeader Accept-Encoding: .* $1 Thanks in advance...

  • Apache Axis2 tried books

    - by josh
I am looking to get my hands wet in Java Web Services. Apache CXF and Axis2 seem to be in demand a lot. I googled a bit for finding a good Axis2 book that has lot of working examples. some books like Quick Start Apache Axis 2 seem to have bad reviews on Amazon and titles like Web Services with Apache CXF and Axis2 seem to lack working examples. I want to get opinion from people who currently work with Axis2 and have read a book or two on the subject. Which is a good book for an Axis2 n00b.

  • Web programming: Apache modules: mod_python vs mod_php

Hi! I've been using for more than 12 years PHP with Apache (a.k.a mod_php) for my web development work. I've recenlty discovered python and its real power (I still don't understand why this is not always the best product that becomes the most famous). I've just discovered mod_python for Apache. I've already googled but without success things like mod_python vs mod_php. I wanted to know the differences between the two mod_php and mod_python in terms of: speed productivity maintainance (I know `python is most productive and maintainable language in the world, but is it the same for Web programming with Apache) availability of features e.g, cookies and session handling, databases, protocols, etc.

  • Can't install APK hosted my own apache server

    - by Ogre_BGR
I've exported an apk from eclipse. I am able to install it without any problem if I copy it to the phone's sd card. When trying to download via phone's (Galaxy S) browser I get: "Download unsuccessful". I have set mime type application/vnd.android.package-archive in the mime.types, restarted apache, still same result. Also tried : <a href="downloads/my_apk.apk" type="application/vnd.android.package-archive">Download App</a> Still no luck. I am able to download and install applications from android market. I suspect that apache is not sending the mime type but this is just a shot in the dark. How can I fix the problem and be able to install APKs from my web server? (or at least to check if apache sends correct header with mime type) Any help will be appreciated.

  • Browsing to Subversion repository location indicated in Apache conf file

    - by sonrael
I have Subversion 1.6.6 and Apache 2.2.14 installed and working. I have made the following changes to the Apache httpd.conf file: #Uncommented by me for Subversion installation LoadModule dav_module modules/mod_dav.so LoadModule dav_fs_module modules/mod_dav_fs.so #Added by me for subversion installation LoadModule dav_svn_module modules/mod_dav_svn.so LoadModule authz_svn_module modules/mod_authz_svn.so < Location /svn DAV svn SVNPath C:\Users\RED\Repositories < /Location ...When I navigate to localhost Apache is working properly, but if I try to go to localhost/svn the browser just hangs waiting for a response from the server. What is supposed to happen here? Does it have to do with the fact that I'm behind a wireless router on a dynamic IP address (although I can access localhost no problem so...)? As you can see I'm on windows (Vista)

  • Apache crashes after installing mysqli

    - by Marco P.
System: Apache 2.2 running on Windows 2008 Server with PHP 5.2.17 VC6 Thread-Safe as a Module and MySQL 5.5.17 - all working fine. After installing mysqli using the php package, Apache won't start anymore. There is no error message in the log. What I have tried: Make sure Windows PATH points to libmysql.dll: Yes, done. Make sure extension_dir points to the right point: Yes. Other extensions load fine. Try without mysqli: Yes, Apache loads fine then. Try without mysql: Yes, does not help. Test mysql itself: Restarts server! Overwrite libmysql: Yes, does not help. It seems to me that there is some general problem with MySql, but the DB server seems to be running fine. I'm really out of ideas of things I could try, so I'm desperate for any hints or tricks.

  • Issues with Apache redirect to www-prefixed URL

    - by lamp_scaler
I have a website with domain mysite.com. I would like to have it so that if a user types in "mysite.com" it will redirect to "www.mysite.com". Additionally, "mysite.com/subdir" will also redirect to "www.mysite.com/subdir". I've looked and made changes with vhosts and also rewrites, but it's not working for the "mysite.com/subdir"-"www.mysite.com/subdir" case. Every time I type in "mysite.com/subdir", it will redirect to "www.mysite.com". Only "www.mysite.com/subdir" works. Not sure how to troubleshoot this. I turned on rewrite logs and didn't see anything obvious, yet. This is my config files so far. Please let me know what I'm missing. Thanks! FYI: I'm using CentOS 5.4, nginx 1.2.0 on top of Apache 2.2.3. • Setting up apache to view https pages

    - by zac
I am trying to set up a site using vmware workstation, ubuntu 11.10, and apache2. The site works fine but now the https pages are not showing up. For example if I try to go to https://www.mysite.com/checkout I just see the message Not Found The requested URL /checkout/ was not found on this server. I dont really know what I am doing and have tried a lot of things to get the ssl certificates in there right. A few things I have in there, in my httpd.conf I just have : ServerName localhost In my ports.conf I have : NameVirtualHost *:80 Listen 80 <IfModule mod_ssl.c> # If you add NameVirtualHost *:443 here, you will also have to change # the VirtualHost statement in /etc/apache2/sites-available/default-ssl # to <VirtualHost *:443> # Server Name Indication for SSL named virtual hosts is currently not # supported by MSIE on Windows XP. Listen 443 http </IfModule> <IfModule mod_gnutls.c> Listen 443 http </IfModule> In the /etc/apache2/sites-available/default-ssl : <IfModule mod_ssl.c> <VirtualHost _default_:443> ServerAdmin webmaster@localhost DocumentRoot /var/www <Directory /> Options FollowSymLinks AllowOverride None </Directory> <Directory /var/www/> Options Indexes FollowSymLinks MultiViews AllowOverride None Order allow, deny allow from all </Directory> .... truncated in the sites-available/default I have : <VirtualHost *:80> ServerAdmin webmaster@localhost DocumentRoot /var/www #DocumentRoot /home/magento/site/ <Directory /> Options FollowSymLinks AllowOverride None </Directory> <Directory /var/www/> #<Directory /home/magento/site/> Options Indexes FollowSymLinks MultiViews AllowOverride None Order allow, deny allow from all </Directory> ScriptAlias /cgi-bin/ /usr/lib/cgi-bin/ <Directory "/usr/lib/cgi-bin"> AllowOverride None Options +ExecCGI -MultiViews +SymLinksIfOwnerMatch Order allow, deny Allow from all </Directory> ErrorLog ${APACHE_LOG_DIR}/error.log # Possible values include: debug, info, notice, warn, error, crit, # alert, emerg. LogLevel warn CustomLog ${APACHE_LOG_DIR}/access.log combined Alias /doc/ "/usr/share/doc/" <Directory "/usr/share/doc/"> Options Indexes MultiViews FollowSymLinks AllowOverride None Order deny, allow Deny from all Allow from 127.0.0.0/255.0.0.0 ::1/128 </Directory> </VirtualHost> <virtualhost *:443> SSLEngine on SSLCertificateFile /etc/apache2/ssl/server.crt SSLCertificateKeyFile /etc/apache2/ssl/server.key ServerAdmin webmaster@localhost <Directory /> Options FollowSymLinks AllowOverride None </Directory> <Directory /var/www/> #<Directory /home/magento/site/> Options Indexes FollowSymLinks MultiViews AllowOverride None Order allow, deny allow from all </Directory> </virtualhost> I also have in sites-availabe a file setup for my site url, www.mysite.com so in /etc/apache2/sites-available/mysite.com <VirtualHost *:80> ServerName mysite.com DocumentRoot /home/magento/mysite.com <Directory /> Options FollowSymLinks AllowOverride All </Directory> <Directory /home/magento/mysite.com/ > Options Indexes FollowSymLinks MultiViews AllowOverride All Order allow, deny allow from all </Directory> ErrorLog /home/magento/logs/apache.log # Possible values include: debug, info, notice, warn, error, crit, # alert, emerg. LogLevel warn </VirtualHost> <VirtualHost *:443> ServerName mysite.com DocumentRoot /home/magento/mysite.com <Directory /> Options FollowSymLinks AllowOverride All </Directory> <Directory /home/magento/mysite.com/ > Options Indexes FollowSymLinks MultiViews AllowOverride All Order allow, deny allow from all </Directory> ErrorLog /home/magento/logs/apache.log # Possible values include: debug, info, notice, warn, error, crit, # alert, emerg. LogLevel warn </VirtualHost> Thanks for any help getting this setup! As is probably obvious from this post I am pretty lost at this point.
