printf and Console.WriteLine - problems with Console.SetOut?

i have a bunch of Console.WriteLines in my code that I can observe at runtime. I communicate with a native library that I also wrote. I'd like to stick some printf's in the native library and observe them too. I don't see them at runtime however. I've created a convoluted hello world app to demonstrate my problem. When the app runs, I can debug into the native library and see that the hello world is called. The output never lands in the textwriter though. Note that if the same code is run as a console app then everything works fine. xcode 5.1: libCordova.a architecture problems

Yesterday (3/10/14) when iOS 7.1 was released I also upgraded to Xcode 5.1 and found that my PhoneGap/Cordova project would no longer compile to my iPhone 5s. I also upgraded Cordova to the most recent release: v 3.4.0-0.1.3. I have read many different solutions on SO that relate so changing active architectures and building only active architectures, and none of them work. So here's what I've tried and the errors I get. Initially I got the error: missing required architecture arm64 in file <long file path omitted> libCordova.a Undefined symbols for architecture arm64 So I tried the following. I selected the CordovaLib sub-project in my project, and in both the project and target, I went to Build Settings under Architectures and made sure that arm64 was not included in any of the Debug or Release architectures. At this time Build Active Architecture Only is set to "Yes". That resulted in the following error: file was built for archive which is not the architecture being linked (armv7): <long file path omitted> libCordova.a Undefined symbols for architecture armv7 Setting Build Active Architecture Only to "No", the error again becomes: missing required architecture arm64 in file <long file path omitted> libCordova.a Undefined symbols for architecture arm64 I'm not sure what else to try. The project's architecture settings only includes the key "Base SDK" which is set to iOS 7.1. The project's target does not have architectures settings. Anyway I'm fairly certain the problem lies with the embedded CordovaLib sub-project. What can I do to make this thing compile to my device successfully? Having problems getting a PHP regex to match.

Here is my problem. It's probably a simple fix. I have a regex that I am using to replace a url BBCode. Problems saving a photo to a file

Man, I am still not able to save a picture when I send an intent asking for a photo to be taken. My onActivityResult() then gets called. But my file doesn't get written. The URI is: file:///data/data/com.droidstogo.boom1/files/parked.jpg I can create thumbnail OK (by not putting the extra into the Intent), and can write that file OK, and later read it back). Can anyone see what simple mistake I am making? Nothing obvious shows up in the logcat - the camera is clearly taking the picture. Thanks, Peter

Problems referencing build output from TFS Build and Visual Studio

Here's what I'm trying to do: I have two solutions - one for my main application and its associated projects and another for my database (VS .dbproj) and its associated projects. What I'd like to do is include the output from the database project (a .dbschema and some SQL scripts) in my WiX installer (which exists in the main application solution.) This involves having TFS build the DB solution immediately before the main application solution. I've got that part working properly, but I'm having trouble referencing the output of the DB solution from my installer. I'm using relative paths to reference the DB project output in my WiX installer (e.g. <?define DBProjectOutputDir = "..\..\MyDatabaseSolution\MyDatabaseProject\sql\"?>) which works fine locally, but fails when building via TFS build. This is because TFS Build apparently changes the output dir of each project to one common location. Instead of the path to my database project being ..\..\MyDatabaseSolution\MyDatabaseProject\sql\ like it is when building locally, it gets set to something like ..\..\..\Binaries\Release\. How can I get around this and have a consistent output location to reference from my installer project? I'm using TFS 2005 and VS 2008.

WCF via SSL connectivity problems

Hello, I am hosting a WCF service from inside a Windows service using WAS. When I set the service to listen on 127.0.0.1, I have connectivity from my local machine as well as from my network. However, when I set it to listen on my outbound interface port 443, I can no longer even see the wsdl by connecting with a browser. Strangely, I can connect to the service by using telnet. The cert I am using was generated for my interface by a CA, and I have successfully used this exact cert with this service before. When checking the application log, I see that the service starts without error and is listening on the correct interface. From this information, it seems to me that the config file is in a valid state, but somehow misconfigured for what I want. I have, however, previously deployed this same setup on other sites using this config file. In case it is helpful, below is my config file. I can see how a cipher can be developed using substitutions and keys, and how those two things can become more and more complex, thus offering some protection from decryption through brute-force approaches. But specifically I'm wondering: what other major concepts beyond substitution and key are involved? is the protection/secrecy of the key a greater vulnerability than the strength of the encryption? why does encryption still hold up when the key is 'public' ? are performance considerations a major obstacle to the development of more secure encryption?

problems with UTF-8 encoding in PHP

Hi guys, The characters I am getting from the URL, for example www.mydomain.com/?name=john , were fine, as longs as they were not in Russian. If they were are in Russian, I was getting '????'. So I added $name= iconv("cp1251","utf-8" ,$name); and now it works fine for Russian and English characters, but screws up other languages. :))) For example 'Janis' ( Latvian ) that worked fine before iconv, now turns into 'j??nis'. Any idea if there's some universal encoder that would work with both the Cyrillic languages and not screw up other languages?

Unit tests and Test Runner problems under .Net 4.0

Hi there, We're trying to migrate a .Net 3.5 solution into .Net 4.0, but are experiencing complications with the testing frameworks that can operate using an assembly that is built using version 4.0 of the .Net Framework. Previously, we used NUnit 2.4.3.0 and NCover 1.5.8.0 within our NAnt scripts, but NUnit 2.4.3.0 doesn't like .Net 4.0 projects. So, we upgraded to a newer version of the NUnit framework within the test project itself, but then found that NCover 1.5.8.0 doesn't support this version of NUnit. We get errors in the code saying words to the effect of the assembly was built using a newer version of the .Net Framework than is currently in use, as it's using .Net Framework 2.0 to run the tools. We then tried using Gallio's Icarus test runner GUI, but found that this and MbUnit only support up to version 3.5 of the .Net Frameword and the result is "the tests will be ignored". In terms of the coverage side of things (for reporting into CruiseControl.net), we have found that PartCover is a good candidate for substituting-out NCover, (as the newer version of NCover is quite dear, and PartCover is free), but this is a few steps down the line yet, as we can't get the test runners to work first!! Can any shed any light on a testnig framework that will run under .Net 4.0 in the same way as I've described above? If not, I fear we may have to revert back to using .Net 3.5 until the manufacturers of the tooling that we're currently using have a chance to upgrade to .Net 4.0. Thanks.

Encoding MySQL text fields into UTF-8 text files - problems with special characters

I'm writing a php script to export MySQL database rows into a .txt file formatted for Adobe InDesign's internal markup. Exports work, but when I encounter special characters like é or umlauts, I get weird symbols (eg ChloÃ« Hanslip instead of Chloë Hanslip). Rather than run a search and replace for every possible weird character, I need a better method. I've checked that when the text hits the database, it's saved properly - in the database I see the special characters. My export code basically runs some regular expressions to put in the InDesign code tags, and I'm left with the weird symbols. If I just output the text to the browser (rather than prompt for a text file download), it displays properly. When I save the file I use this code: header("Content-disposition: attachment; filename=test.txt"); header("Content-Type: text/plain; charset=utf-8"); I've tried various combinations of utf8_encode() and iconv() to no avail. Can anybody point me in the right direction here?

Why not all users can log in to a network computer by using <network computer name>/<user name> form

There is a file server in my office that is not connected to my office LAN. In this server there are folders that are shared. This server is connected to a switch and a wireless router. Everyone who wants to access this server uses wireless network connection. They log in to this server by providing user name and password registered to the server. Some people can log in to my office file server by providing user name in (the server name)/(user name) format, while other must use (the server IP address)/(user name) format. Why is it like this? I need everyone can access the file server by providing user name in (the server name)/(user name) format. I have tried to change the %SystemRoot%\system32\drivers\etc\hosts file, as some suggested, but it won't work. Any other suggestion?

Problems with deploying struts annotations in ear file

I am attempting to make use of the struts 2 annotations, what I have found is if I deploy the app as a war file everything works fine but if I deploy my war as part of an ear file none of the struts annotations work only the actions defined in struts.xml work. I can't seem to work out why deploying as a ear file annotations don't work. Has anyone else experienced this problem? I am using struts 2.1.8 and deploying to Jboss 5 thanks

Problems pulling data from NSMutableArray for MapKit?

Hi, I have a class (DataImporter) which has the code to download an RSS feed. I also have a view and separate class (TableView) which displays the data in a UITableView and starts the parsing process, storing parsed information in an NSMutableArray (items). Now I wish to add a UIMapView which displays the items in the items NSMutableArray. I'm struggling to transfer the data into the new class (mapView) to show it in the map - and I preferably don't want to have to create a new class to download the data again for the map. Is there a way I can transfer the information from the NSMutableArray (items) to the mapView? Thanks. UITableView, having problems changing accessory when selected

I'm using a UITableView to allow selection of one (of many) items. Similar to the UI when selecting a ringtone, I want the selected item to be checked, and the others not. I would like to have the cell selected when touched, then animated back to the normal color (again, like the ringtone selection UI). A UIViewController subclass is my table's delegate and datasource (not UITableViewController, because I also have a toolbar in there). I'm setting the accessoryType of the cells in cellForRowAtIndexPath:, and updating my model when cells are selected in didSelectRowAtIndexPath:. The only way I can think of to set the selected cell to checkmark (and clear the previous one) is to call [tableView reloadData] in didSelectRowAtIndexPath:. However, when I do this, the animating of the cell deselection is weird (a white box appears where the cell's label should be). If I don't call reloadData, of course, the accessoryType won't change, so the checkmarks won't appear. I suppose I could turn the animation off, but that seems lame. I also toyed with getting and altering the cells in didSelectRowAtIndexPath:, but that's a big pain. Any ideas? Jquery getJSON cross domain problems

I cant seem to get my JSON file to work when pulling it in from another domain using JQuerys getJSON. I have placed the callback part at the end of the url but still have no joy. Firebug tells me its a cross domain issue, which seems to make sense as if I place the json file locally the below code (excluding the ?jsoncallback=? works fine) Heres the Jquery part Problems with inheritance query view and one to many association in entity framework 4

Hi, I have situation in with I stucked and don't know way out. The problem is in my bigger model, but I have made small example which shows the same problem. I have 4 tables. I called them SuperParent, NamedParent, TypedParent and ParentType. NamedParent and TypedParent derives from superParent. TypedParent has one to many association with ParentType. I describe mapping for entities using queryView. The problem is then I want to get TypedParents and Include ParentType I get the following exception: An error occurred while preparing the command definition. See the inner exception for details. --- System.ArgumentException: The ResultType of the specified expression is not compatible with the required type. The expression ResultType is 'Transient.reference[PasibandymaiModel.SuperParent]' but the required type is 'Transient.reference[PasibandymaiModel.TypedParent]'.
