  • How to packing Resources in Maven Project?

    I am looking for suggestion in putting image file maven web project. One of classes under src/main/java need to use an image file. My problem is, if i put image file under src/main/webapp/images then application server cannot find that path on runtime(where myeclipse can ) because war archive do not have specified path "src/main/webapp/images". My question is where should i put the image file that my project can find it without prompting any error or exception.   • Working on a jQuery plugin : viewport simulator

    Hi community, i'm working on a jQuery plugin that's aiming to simulate one axis camera movements. The first step to achieving this is simple : use conventional, clean markup, and get the prototype to work. My clone uses the original background image to then animate it.fade it to black/white. But when you clik on an element, image url is found, but doesn't seem to be injected. Do you see anything ? Finally, about animation of elements : as you can see in source code, I'm using the container $('#wrapper') to position all animated children.   • Conditional configuration in maven pom.xml

    I'd like to ONLY exclude certain files in maven-war-plugin when property "skipCompress" set to true, I thought I could do something like this, but it doesn't work for me.   • New iPhone Dev policy

    Apple doesn't want anyone to create iPhone apps outside of the Xcode/Objective-C environment. How can they actually reinforce this? If the other IDE's, for example Unity, compiles to an iPhone executable, how will Apple know which dev environment you used to create the app? Can they have Xcode compile some sort of signature into the executable that no one knows about?

  • .tex file remains in use by process when batch file is triggered by .Rnw Sweave processing.

    This is a pretty specialized question. I'm using the Eclipse IDE in a Windows XP environment with the StatET plug-in so I can write R code as an R/Sweave document. This produces a .tex file that is then post processed by pdflatex.exe. When I create the file as normal everything works great (except maybe my file named russfnc2.Rnw seems to result in russfnc.pdf even though pdflatex.exe on the console window correctly says that the output is being writen to russfnc2.pdf). The big problem is when I trigger a batch file from within my Rnw code. My goal here is to spawn a side process that waits for the PDF to be made and uploads it to the server. So the Rnw contains: if(file.exists("rsp.finalize.bat")) {system("rsp.finalize.bat",wait=FALSE,invisible=FALSE)} The batch file calls Rterm.exe to run a script: setwd("C:/theprojectdirectory") while(!file.exists("russfnc.pdf")) { Sys.sleep(1) } Sys.sleep(60) At the end of that script, I use a shell call to launch psftp.exe and upload the files. All of this works fine, when I use my Eclipse profile to trigger Sweave... that is unless I have that batch file at the end of the .Rnw. When it is located there, I get the error message pdflatex.exe: Permission denied: c:\thepath\thetexfile.tex. After that, the .tex file (as far as XP is concerned) is in use by another process and I have to reboot in order to delete it (and, of course, the pdf is not made). If I manually trigger the batch file after pdflatex.exe has done its things, everything works fine. How can I make this work correctly using the tools I'm familiar with vis., R and Dos-style batch files? I'm not sure if this is a SuperUser question or a StackOverflow question, so I'm starting here.

I have several questions relating to this plugin: How can I change the name of the goal to, for example, foo:bar? (Why does neither display nor time appear anywhere in the XML fragment? How can you tell, from looking at the fragment, what goals it defines?) How can I manually run this goal? (For similar constructs, the equivalent of mvn display:time sometimes works, but this doesn't work consistently.) How can I see if this goal exists? (i.e. list available goals; this question suggests this is impossible.)

    I am developing an app on a page that uses jQuery 1.2.6, but I would like to use jQuery 1.4.2 for my app. I really don't like to use multiple versions of jQuery like this but the copy on the page (1.2.6) is something I have no control over. For a while, everything worked fine. However, I decided to want to use a jQuery plugin in a separate file. I tested it and it acted funny. After some experimentation, I found out that the plugin was using the old version of jQuery, when I wanted it to use the new version. Does anyone know how to import and run a js file from the context within the function wrapping the code in myStuff.js? In case this matters to anyone, here is how I know the plugin is using the old version, and what I did to try to solve the problem: I made a file called test.js, consisting of this line: alert($.fn.jquery); I tried referencing the file in a script tag the way external Javascript is usually included, below myStuff.js, and it came up as 1.2.6, like I expected. I then got rid of that script tag and put this line in myStuff.js: $.getScript("test.js"); and it still came back as 1.2.6. That wasn't a big surprise -- according to jQuery's documentation, scripts included that way are executed in the global context. I then tried doing this instead: var testFn = $.proxy($.getScript, this); testFn("test.js"); and it still came back as 1.2.6. After some tinkering, I found out that the "this" keyword referred to the window, which I assume means the global context. I am looking for something to put in place of "this" to refer to the context of the enclosing function, or some other way to make the code in the file run from the enclosing function. I noticed that if I copy and paste the code, it works fine, but it is a big plugin that is used in many places, and I would prefer not to clutter up my file with their code. I am out of ideas. Does anyone else know how to do this?

I'm trying to migrate over a Makefile with the lines: neotest: mvn exec:java -Dexec.mainClass="org.dhappy.test.NeoTraverse" And I would like mvn neotest to produce what make neotest does currently. Neither the exec plugin documentation nor the Maven Ant tasks pages had any sort of straightforward example. (private, public), I see no way of getting them...

    The latest versions of Google Chrome (16+), Mozilla Firefox (8+), and Internet Explorer (10+) all support HTML5 client-side validation. It is time to take HTML5 validation seriously. The purpose of the blog post is to describe how you can take advantage of HTML5 client-side validation regardless of the type of application that you are building. You learn how to use the HTML5 validation attributes, how to perform custom validation using the JavaScript validation constraint API, and how to simulate HTML5 validation on older browsers by taking advantage of a jQuery plugin. Finally, we discuss the security issues related to using client-side validation. Using Client-Side Validation Attributes The HTML5 specification discusses several attributes which you can use with INPUT elements to perform client-side validation including the required, pattern, min, max, step, and maxlength attributes. For example, you use the required attribute to require a user to enter a value for an INPUT element. The following form demonstrates how you can make the firstName and lastName form fields required: <!DOCTYPE html> <html > <head> <title>Required Demo</title> </head> <body> <form> <label> First Name: <input required title="First Name is Required!" /> </label> <label> Last Name: <input required title="Last Name is Required!" /> </label> <button>Register</button> </form> </body> </html> If you attempt to submit this form without entering a value for firstName or lastName then you get the validation error message: Notice that the value of the title attribute is used to display the validation error message “First Name is Required!”. When an input field passes validation, the validationValid CSS class is applied to the field and the field appears with a green border. From the perspective of HTML5 validation, the h5Validate plugin is the best of the plugins. It adds support for the required and pattern attributes to browsers which do not natively support these attributes such as IE9. However, this plugin does not include everything in my wish list for a perfect HTML5 validation plugin. Here’s my wish list for the perfect back compat HTML5 validation plugin: 1. The plugin would disable itself when used with a browser which natively supports HTML5 validation attributes. The plugin should not be too greedy – it should not handle validation when a browser could do the work itself. 2. The plugin should simulate the same user interface for displaying validation error messages as the user interface displayed by browsers which natively support HTML5 validation. Chrome, Firefox, and Internet Explorer all display validation errors in a popup. The perfect plugin would also display a popup. 3. Finally, the plugin would add support for the setCustomValidity() method and the other methods of the HTML5 validation constraint API. That way, you could implement custom validation in a standards compatible way and you would know that it worked across all browsers both old and new. Security It would be irresponsible of me to end this blog post without mentioning the issue of security. It is important to remember that any client-side validation — including HTML5 validation — can be bypassed. You should use client-side validation with the intention to create a better user experience. Client validation is great for providing a user with immediate feedback when the user is in the process of completing a form. However, client-side validation cannot prevent an evil hacker from submitting unexpected form data to your web server. You should always enforce your validation rules on the server. The only way to ensure that a required field has a value is to verify that the required field has a value on the server. The HTML5 required attribute does not guarantee anything. Summary The goal of this blog post was to describe the support for validation contained in the HTML5 standard. You learned how to use both the required and the pattern attributes in an HTML5 form. We also discussed how you can implement custom validation by taking advantage of the setCustomValidity() method. Finally, I discussed the available jQuery plugins for adding support for the HTM5 validation attributes to older browsers. Unfortunately, I am unaware of any jQuery plugin which provides a perfect solution to the problem of backwards compatibility.

The plugin should simulate the same user interface for displaying validation error messages as the user interface displayed by browsers which natively support HTML5 validation. Chrome, Firefox, and Internet Explorer all display validation errors in a popup. The perfect plugin would also display a popup. 3. Finally, the plugin would add support for the setCustomValidity() method and the other methods of the HTML5 validation constraint API. That way, you could implement custom validation in a standards compatible way and you would know that it worked across all browsers both old and new. Security It would be irresponsible of me to end this blog post without mentioning the issue of security. It is important to remember that any client-side validation — including HTML5 validation — can be bypassed. You should use client-side validation with the intention to create a better user experience. Client validation is great for providing a user with immediate feedback when the user is in the process of completing a form. However, client-side validation cannot prevent an evil hacker from submitting unexpected form data to your web server. You should always enforce your validation rules on the server. The only way to ensure that a required field has a value is to verify that the required field has a value on the server. The HTML5 required attribute does not guarantee anything.   • Unable to create new virtual hosts using MAMP with OSX Mavericks

    I have been using virtual hosts on my Mac with MAMP, which has worked up until now. I have 2 working virtual hosts that i created in the same manner, which still work, but for some reason I am unable to create any new virtual hosts. When i attempt to go to a newly crated virtual host in my browser it generates a 404 Not Found error. The only thing i can think of possibly after i updated OSX to Mavericks, but i'm not sure what that would have done, or why the old virtual hosts still work. See excerpt below from vhosts.conf file.   • Linux RAID: Replacing Failed Drive...permanantly

    Okay, odd question here. I have a server with RAID 5. A drive failed, in a really physically in a really odd way. On the machine it boots and is seen by the BIOS but...no partition can be seen on the drive consistantly (in and out). 2 out of 3 drives working...I made new spare disk and added it, RAID 5 rebuilt clean. All appears well but...when I reboot it keeps trying to use the 2nd drive which doesn't give any partition data, so of course the RAID 5 gets 2 out of 3...again. The status of my drive is as follows: /dev/sda2:Good /dev/sdb2 (drive has physical problem so no partition data) bad, /dev/sdc2:good /dev/sdd2:good. Every time I reboot the mdadm system seems to keep trying to use /dev/sdb which has physical failure (although spins and is detected). /dev/sdd is the new drive I created. I added /dev/sdd to the raid and it rebuilds the raid but this action isn't memorized upon reboot so it keeps listing /dev/sda and /dev/sdc but doesn't use the perfectly good /dev/sdd until I re-add manually. I've tried removing the dead drive with the mdadm tool, but as it cannot see /dev/sdb paritions it will not fail or remove it (says partition doesn't exist). the /etc/mdadm.conf was automatically made on the original OS install which only lists: DEVICE partitions MAILADDR root ARRAY /dev/md2 super-minor=2 ARRAY /dev/md0 super-minor=0 ARRAY /dev/md1 super-minor=1 Basically just the raids to use on boot. I need to remove this semi-dead drive (/dev/sdb) but I'd prefer to know why this is happening before I do. any ideas or suggestions. I supposed I could attempt to clone/replace /dev/sdb (the partitions on drive show up, then disappear shortly after) but given the partition "chester cat" behaviour this seems risky to me and as I have a working "spare" it seems unnecessary.     I have 3 lxc containers. They were all working fine on 12.10 and I upgraded the containers with do-release-upgrade on the containers to 13.04 and 13.10 and that worked great. The container becomes pingable but I can't ssh and if I try lxc-console -n as1 I get a blank screen. Any ideas why these containers are hanging?
