  • How to be up to date with the LAMP platform?

    - by Shakti Singh
Most of times I get to know about the new features from my colleagues or someone else. It is okay at least I know about them does not matter from where I know But I feel it is too late to know about those features. I am working on LAMP platform and I want to keep myself up to date with the new things, anything happening new with LAMP. Can you please let me know what resources should I use? What groups should I follow? From where I can get the latest updates about any activity, event and feature about LAMP?

  • Passing html parameters to server odd problem

    - by StealthRT
Hey all i am having a weird problem with sending data back to my server. This is the code i am using: NSString *theURL =[NSString stringWithFormat:@"http://www.xxx.com/confirm.asp?theID=%@&theName=%@&empID=%@&theComp=%@", theConfirmNum, tmpNBUserRow.userName, labelTxt.text, theID]; NSLog(@"%@,%@,%@,%@", theConfirmNum, tmpNBUserRow.userName, labelTxt.text, theID); NSMutableURLRequest *request = [[[NSMutableURLRequest alloc] init] autorelease]; [request setURL:[NSURL URLWithString:theURL]]; [request setHTTPMethod:@"POST"]; NSError *error; NSURLResponse *response; NSData *urlData=[NSURLConnection sendSynchronousRequest:request returningResponse:&response error:&error]; NSString *data=[[NSString alloc]initWithData:urlData encoding:NSUTF8StringEncoding]; if ([data isEqualToString:@"Done"]) I can run the code from the browser and it works just fine using the data i got from the NSLog output. The NSLog output for each value is correct. But for some reason when i put a break on the IF ([data isEqualToString:@"Done"]) it has no return value. I checked each value for what it was sending (and again, it was correct in the NSLog output) and i found that the value "theID" said "Out of scope". Although, again, the NSLog had the value in it correctly? So i searched the forum and found a simular problem. I took their advice and added "RETAIN" to the "theID" value like so: theID = [customObjInstance TID]; [theID retain]; However, that did not solve the issue... Here is the console NSLog output: [Session started at 2010-04-11 01:31:50 -0400.] wait_fences: failed to receive reply: 10004003 wait_fences: failed to receive reply: 10004003 nbTxt(5952,0xa0937500) malloc: *** error for object 0x3c0ebc0: double free *** set a breakpoint in malloc_error_break to debug 2010-04-11 01:32:12.270 nbTxt[5952:207] 5122,Rob S.,5122,NB010203 The NSLog values i am sending is the last line "5122,Rob S.,5122,NB010203" Any help would be great :o) David

  • [iPhone] Objective-C : UIScrollView manual paging

    - by Daniel
Hi Folks! I want to use the scrollview as something like a picker in horizontal mode. The scrollview holds up to seven subviews. Each subview represents a value. Always three views are visible and the one in the middle is the selected one. Scrollview visible at start: __ | V1 | V2 Scrollview set to view/value two: V1 | V2 | V3 Scrollview set to last value: V2 | V3 | __ The real problem I have got is the "pagingEnabled" flag. If pagingEnabled is set to YES the scrollview pages always three subviews/values instead of only one. If pagingEnabled is set to NO the scrollview does not clinch. Is there a nice solution for my problem? Thanks a lot, Dan ;)

  • UIImagePickerController Causes my app to crash!

    - by Flafla2
In my app, a user can select an image, change the picture of a UIImageView to the new imge, and save the image to NSUserDefaults using NSKeyedArchiver. When the user selects the image the app immediately crashes! Here is my code - - (void)imagePickerController:(UIImagePickerController *)picker didFinishPickingMediaWithInfo:(NSDictionary *)info { [picker dismissModalViewControllerAnimated:YES]; if ([[NSUserDefaults standardUserDefaults] integerForKey:@"PictureKey"] == 1) { UIImage *previmage = [info objectForKey:@"UIImagePickerControllerOriginalImage"]; [prevbutton setImage:previmage]; NSData *previmagedata = [NSKeyedArchiver archivedDataWithRootObject:previmage]; [[NSUserDefaults standardUserDefaults] setObject:previmagedata forKey:@"PrevImage"]; } else if ([[NSUserDefaults standardUserDefaults] integerForKey:@"PictureKey"] == 2) { UIImage *nextimage = [info objectForKey:@"UIImagePickerControllerOriginalImage"]; [nextbutton setImage:nextimage]; NSData *nextimagedata = [NSKeyedArchiver archivedDataWithRootObject:nextimage]; [[NSUserDefaults standardUserDefaults] setObject:nextimagedata forKey:@"NextImage"]; }else { UIImage *optionsimage = [info objectForKey:@"UIImagePickerControllerOriginalImage"]; [moreoptionsbutton setImage:optionsimage]; NSData *optimagedata = [NSKeyedArchiver archivedDataWithRootObject:optionsimage]; [[NSUserDefaults standardUserDefaults] setObject:optimagedata forKey:@"OptionsImage"]; } } Thanks in advance!

  • iPhone Foundation - performance implications of mutable and xxxWithCapacity:0

    - by Adam Eberbach
All of the collection classes have two versions - mutable and immutable, such as NSArray and NSMutableArray. Is the distinction merely to promote careful programming by providing a const collection or is there some performance hit when using a mutable object as opposed to immutable? Similarly each of the collection classes has a method xxxxWithCapacity, like [NSMutableArray arrayWithCapacity:0]. I often use zero as the argument because it seems a better choice than guessing wrongly how many objects might be added. Is there some performance advantage to creating a collection with capacity for enough objects in advance? If not why isn't the function something like + (id)emptyArray?

  • Reflection to access advanced telephony features

    - by Tyler
I am trying to use reflection to access some advanced features of the telephony api not published. Currently I am having trouble instantiating a serviceManager object that is needed to get the "phone" service as a binder which I can then use to instantiate a telephony object which is needed to make a call, end call, etc... currently when I make the call serviceManagerObject = tempInterfaceMethod.invoke(null, new Object[] { new Binder() }); it returns a nullPointerException. I believe this has to due with creating a new Binder instead of sending the appropriate binder (which I am unsure of which one is appropriate) public void placeReflectedCall() throws ClassNotFoundException, SecurityException, NoSuchMethodException, IllegalArgumentException, IllegalAccessException, InvocationTargetException, InstantiationException { String serviceManagerName = "android.os.IServiceManager"; String serviceManagerNativeName = "android.os.ServiceManagerNative"; String telephonyName = "com.android.internal.telephony.ITelephony"; Class telephonyClass; Class telephonyStubClass; Class serviceManagerClass; Class serviceManagerStubClass; Class serviceManagerNativeClass; Class serviceManagerNativeStubClass; Method telephonyCall; Method telephonyEndCall; Method telephonyAnswerCall; Method getDefault; Method[] temps; Constructor[] serviceManagerConstructor; // Method getService; Object telephonyObject; Object serviceManagerObject; String number = "1111111111"; telephonyClass = Class.forName(telephonyName); telephonyStubClass = telephonyClass.getClasses()[0]; serviceManagerClass = Class.forName(serviceManagerName); serviceManagerNativeClass = Class.forName(serviceManagerNativeName); Method getService = // getDefaults[29]; serviceManagerClass.getMethod("getService", String.class); Method tempInterfaceMethod = serviceManagerNativeClass.getMethod( "asInterface", IBinder.class); // this does not work serviceManagerObject = tempInterfaceMethod.invoke(null, new Object[] { new Binder() }); IBinder retbinder = (IBinder) getService.invoke(serviceManagerObject, "phone"); Method serviceMethod = telephonyStubClass.getMethod("asInterface", IBinder.class); telephonyObject = serviceMethod .invoke(null, new Object[] { retbinder }); telephonyCall = telephonyClass.getMethod("call", String.class); telephonyEndCall = telephonyClass.getMethod("endCall"); telephonyAnswerCall = telephonyClass.getMethod("answerRingingCall"); telephonyCall.invoke(telephonyObject, number); } Thanks in advance for any answers.

  • Adding a subview to UITableCellView

    - by hanno
I want to add a subview to my UITableCellView subclass. However, non of the provided views in the class seem to be able to do exactly what I was looking for. I basically want to add my own background view, filling the whole cell. However, if I replace the backgroundView, the style from the grouped table view layout isn't displayed anymore. If I add a subview to backgroundView, the subview is not shown at all. If I add a subview to the contentView, I can't draw behind the accessory icon. What am I missing?

  • Scrollable div on iPhone without using 2 fingers?

    - by Brad Parks
Hi there; I've got a UIWebView embedded in my iPhone app, and I'd like to keep a locked header and footer DIV on the page at all times, with a scrollable center DIV. I know that I could do this using a header/footer that are UIView controls, but I want the header and footer to be HTML divs, as a pure HTML/JS/CSS solution will be easier to port to Android/PalmPre/AdobeAir, which is going to be on my todo list relatively soon. I can do this using techniques like the one mentioned here: http://defunc.com/blog/?p=94 But this requires that the user use 2 fingers to scroll the div, which is not satisfactory to me... Any suggestions on how to do this? Thanks, Brad

  • iPhone: How to read contents from UIWebView XML Document?

    - by David Conlisk
Hi all. In my iPhone app I'm using a UIWebView to allow the user to browse to an XML document on a website. When the user has found the xml document they want, they click a button below the UIWebView. Then I try to read the contents of the XML document from the UIWebView using: NSString *xml = [webView stringByEvaluatingJavaScriptFromString:@"document.getElementByTagName('rootXmlNodeName')[0].innerHTML"]; This doesn't work for me for XML documents. It works fine in a HTML page, e.g. using "html" for the rootXmlNodeName in the code snippet above. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

  • pushViewController causes memory leak

    - by hookjd
The Leaks application tells me that the following function is causing a memory leak and I can't figure out why. -(void)viewGameList { GameListController *gameListViewController = [[GameListController alloc] initWithNibName:@"GameListController" bundle:nil]; gameListViewController.rootController = self; [self.navigationController pushViewController:gameListViewController animated:YES]; [gameListViewController release]; } It tells me that this line causes a 128 byte memory leak. [self.navigationController pushViewController:gameListViewController animated:YES]; Am I missing something obvious?

  • How to I pass @selector as a parameter?

    - by erotsppa
For the method [NSThread detachNewThreadSelector:@selector(method:) toTarget:self withObject:(id)SELECTOR]; How do I pass in a @selector? I tried casting it to (id) to make it compile but it crashes in runtime. More specifically, I have a method like this +(void)method1:(SEL)selector{ [NSThread detachNewThreadSelector:@selector(method2:) toTarget:self withObject:selector]; } it crashes, how do I pass in the selector without crashing? So that the new thread can call the selector when the thread is ready?

  • Resize images in UIWebView to viewport size

    - by atz
I'm displaying HTML with some images inside a UIWebView in my iPhone App. When the images are wider than the viewport of the iPhone I get horizontal scrollers which I don't want because its mostly about the text not the images. Is there a way to resize images displayed inside the UIWebView according to the width (best: even if the device is rotated)?

  • Use VersionControlExt.Explorer outside Visual Studio

    - by Ian
    Hi All, I'm developing a TFS tool to assist the developers in our company. This said tool needs to be able to "browse" the TFS server like in the Source Control Explorer. I believe that by using VersionControlExt.Explorer.SelectedItems, a UI will pop-up that will enable the user to browse the TFS server (please correct me if I'm wrong). However, VersionControlExt is only accessible when developing inside Visual Studio (aka Plugin). Unfortunately, I am developing a Windows Application that won;t run inside VS. So the question is, Can I use VersionControlExt outside of Visual Studio? If yes, how? Here's an attempt on using the Changset Details Dialog outside of Visual Studio string path = System.IO.Path.GetDirectoryName(Assembly.GetExecutingAssembly().Location); Assembly vcControls = Assembly.LoadFile(path + @"\Microsoft.TeamFoundation.VersionControl.Controls.dll"); Assembly vcClient = Assembly.LoadFile(path + @"\Microsoft.TeamFoundation.VersionControl.Client.dll"); Type dialogChangesetDetailsType = vcControls.GetType("Microsoft.TeamFoundation.VersionControl.Controls.DialogChangesetDetails",true); Type[] ctorTypes = new Type[3] {vcClient.GetType("Microsoft.TeamFoundation.VersionControl.Client.VersionControlSever"), vcClient.GetType("Microsoft.TeamFoundation.VersionControl.Client.Changeset"), typeof(System.Boolean)}; ConstructorInfo ctorInfo = dialogChangesetDetailsType.GetConstructor(ctorTypes); Object[] ctorObjects = new Object[3] {VersionControlHelper.CurrentVersionControlServer, uc.ChangeSet, true}; Object oDialog = ctorInfo.Invoke(ctorObjects); dialogChangesetDetailsType.InvokeMember("ShowDialog", BindingFlags.InvokeMethod, null, oDialog, null);

  • iPhone OpenGL ES missing functions should be there - glBlendFuncSeparate etc

    - by quixoto
I'm using OpenGL ES 1.1 on the iPhone, and I'd like to use the following functions: glBlendFuncSeparate glBlendColor With their related constants. These didn't exist in early iPhone GL implementations, but according to this page: http://developer.apple.com/iphone/library/releasenotes/General/iPhone30APIDiffs/index.html they should be there in 3.0+, which I'm building for. But I'm getting "implicit definition" warnings. What do I need to do to get those functions? Thanks!

  • NSArray in NSArray do not return the image I want

    - by Tibi
Hi there, I've got a code snippet here that I can't make working. NSUInteger i; //NSMutableArray *textures = [[NSMutableArray alloc] initWithCapacity:kNumTextures]; //NSMutableArray *texturesHighlighted = [[NSMutableArray alloc] initWithCapacity:kNumTextures]; NSMutableArray *textures= [[NSMutableArray alloc] init]; for (i = 1; i <= kNumTextures; i++) { NSString *imageName = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"texture%d.png", i]; NSString *imageNameHighlighted = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"texture%d_select.png", i]; UIImage *image = [UIImage imageNamed:imageName]; UIImage *imageHighlighted = [UIImage imageNamed:imageNameHighlighted]; //NSArray *pics = [[NSArray alloc] initWithObjects:(UIImage)image,(UIImage)imageHighlighted, nil]; NSArray *pics = [NSArray arrayWithObjects:image, imageHighlighted, nil]; [textures addObject:pics]; [pics release]; } //select randomly the position of the picture that will be represented twice on the board NSInteger randomTexture = arc4random()%([textures count]+1); //extract image corresponding to the randomly selected index //remove corresponding pictures from textures array NSArray *coupleTexture = [textures objectAtIndex:randomTexture]; [textures removeObjectAtIndex:randomTexture]; //create the image array containing 1 couple + all other pictures NSMutableArray *texturesBoard = [[NSMutableArray alloc] initWithCapacity:kNumPotatoes]; [texturesBoard addObject:coupleTexture]; [texturesBoard addObject:coupleTexture]; [coupleTexture release]; NSArray *pics = [[NSArray alloc] init]; for (pics in textures) { [texturesBoard addObject:pics]; } [pics release]; //shuffle the textures //[texturesBoard shuffledMutableArray]; //Array with masks NSMutableArray *masks= [[NSMutableArray alloc] init]; for (i = 1; i <= kNumMasks; i++) { NSString *maskName = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"mask%d.png", i]; UIImage *mask = [UIImage imageNamed:maskName]; //NSArray *pics = [[NSArray alloc] initWithObjects:mask, nil]; [masks addObject:mask]; //[pics release]; [maskName release]; [mask release]; } //Now mask all images in texturesBoard NSMutableArray *list = [[NSMutableArray alloc] init]; for (i = 0; i <= kNumMasks-1; i++) { //take on image couple from textures NSArray *imgArray = [texturesBoard objectAtIndex:i]; UIImage *mask = [masks objectAtIndex:i]; //mask it with the mask un the array at corresponding index UIImage *img1 =(UIImage *) [imgArray objectAtIndex:0]; UIImage *img2 =(UIImage *) [imgArray objectAtIndex:1]; UIImage *picsMasked = [self maskImage:(UIImage *)img1 withMask:(UIImage *)mask]; UIImage *picsHighlightedMasked = [self maskImage:(UIImage *)img2 withMask:(UIImage *)mask]; //Init image with highlighted status TapDetectingImageView *imageView = [[TapDetectingImageView alloc] initWithImage:picsMasked imageHighlighted:picsHighlightedMasked]; [list addObject:imageView]; } The problem here is that : img1 and img2, are not images but rather NSArray with multiple entries. Ican't figure why... dos any fresh spirit here could provide me with some clue to fix. maaany thanks.
