  I'm trying to develop an invitation system for my website which runs on CakePHP 1.3.4. I am trying to use the built in EmailComponent to send an email. I don't know why it's undefined in this case. SinglesResultsController has an action, quick_add, which expects email addresses of people not already registered on the site. If the email addresses aren't associated with Users, UsersController::quick_add is called, which creates an inactive user, and sends an invitation email in UsersController::send_quick_add_email() I think the problem is related to the fact that the email isn't being sent in the first controller initialized (SinglesResultsController). Any thoughts on how to make it work? The Email component is declared at the top of both Controllers.

• Auto populate input based on file name with AngularJS

  I am playing around with AngularJS and have not been able to solve this problem. I have a view that has a form to upload a file to a node server. So far I have manage to do this using some directives and a service. I allow the user to send a custom name to the POST data if they desire. What I wan to accomplish is that when the user selects a file the filename models auto populates.   Anyone know where I can find information on how I can control the USB port on a Droid running Android 2.0? I want to know how to either initialize the USB port or send data across it vi a program. I want to be able to atatch a device to the USB port to act as a switch to control a microservo. I read that you need to obtain an authentication token and send it with the POST request. Does Android provide a way to request this token? And how would GAE process it? After investigation I found that @ prefix is used by curl to indicate file upload, and escaping with \@reply doesn't work; curl doesn't remove the \ at the front. I also can't format the postfields to query string, as I need to send files on that request too. Is there any method to send both @reply and file upload in the same request?

I need to use PHPMailer to send emails out for the following reasons: small lists (less then 500) password resets general notifications, 100ish emails at a time And PHPMailer gives me the option to send via mail(), sendmail, or SMTP. Is there any reason to prefer one of these methods over the other? I don't know enough about email services in general to make an informed decision.

  I have a UIScrollView with 2 pages, and I can scroll horizontally between them. However, on one of my pages, I have a UIDatePicker, and the scroll view is intercepting the vertical touch events so I can no longer manipulate the date picker (except by clicking or tapping). Is there some way to tell the ScrollView to send the vertical touch events to the date picker, but send the horizontal touch events to the scroll view to switch pages?

• Java Socket Connection is flooding network OR resulting in high ping

  i have a little problem with my java socket code. I'm writing an android client application which is sending data to a java multithreaded socket server on my pc through direct(!) wireless connection. It works fine but i want to improve it for mobile applications as it is very power consuming by now. When i remove two special lines in my code, the cpu usage of my mobile device (htc one x) is totally okay but then my connection seems to have high ping rates or something like that... Here is a server code snippet where i receive the clients data: while(true) { try { .... BUT: all send comments are received nearly immediately. when i change the code to following: while(true) ... if(sendQueue.peek() != null) { out.writeObject(sendQueue.poll()); } ... the cpu usage is totally okay but i'm getting some laggs.. the commands do not arrive fast enough.. as i said, it works fine (besides cpu usage) if i'm sending data(with that null objects) every while execution. but i'm sure that this is very rough coding style because i'm kind of flooding the network. any hints? what am i doing wrong??
