  • Ruby on Rails function grapher

    - by Hock
    Hi, I'm looking for a function grapher that I can use in a small Rails application I'm working on for my university. Is there anything out there? If it needs the values (points) is not a problem but it would be better if it just parsed the equation. The functions will be 100% in ruby format (for example Math.exp(3*x))... Thanks a lot! • Boost Python - Limits to the number of arguments when wrapping a function

    - by Derek
    I'm using Boost Python to wrap some C++ functions that I've created. One of my C++ functions contains 22 arguments. Boost complains when I try to compile my solution with this function, and I'm trying to figure out if it is just because this function has too many arguments. Does anyone know if such a limit exists? I've copied the error I'm getting below, not the code because I figure someone either knows the answer to this or not - and if there is no limit then I'll just try to figure it out myself. Thanks very much in advance! Here is a copy of the beginning of the error message I receive... 1>main.cpp 1>c:\cpp_ext\boost\boost_1_47\boost\python\make_function.hpp(76): error C2780: 'boost::mpl::vector17<RT,most_derived<Target,ClassT>::type&,T0,T1,T2,T3,T4,T5,T6,T7,T8,T9,T10,T11,T12,T13,T14> boost::python::detail::get_signature(RT (__thiscall ClassT::* )(T0,T1,T2,T3,T4,T5,T6,T7,T8,T9,T10,T11,T12,T13,T14) volatile const,Target *)' : expects 2 arguments - 1 provided 1>c:\cpp_ext\boost\boost_1_47\boost\python\signature.hpp(236) : see declaration of 'boost::python::detail::get_signature' And eventually I get about a hundred copies of error messages very much resembling this one: 1>c:\cpp_ext\boost\boost_1_47\boost\python\make_function.hpp(76): error C2784: 'boost::mpl::vector17<RT,ClassT&,T0,T1,T2,T3,T4,T5,T6,T7,T8,T9,T10,T11,T12,T13,T14> boost::python::detail::get_signature(RT (__thiscall ClassT::* )(T0,T1,T2,T3,T4,T5,T6,T7,T8,T9,T10,T11,T12,T13,T14) volatile const)' : could not deduce template argument for 'RT (__thiscall ClassT::* )(T0,T1,T2,T3,T4,T5,T6,T7,T8,T9,T10,T11,T12,T13,T14) volatile const' from 'std::string (__cdecl *)(const std::string &,jal::date::JULIAN_DATE,const std::string &,const std::string &,int,const std::string &,const std::string &,const std::string &,const std::string &,const std::string &,const std::string &,int,const std::string &,const std::string &,int,const std::string &,const std::string &,const std::string &,const std::string &,const std::string &,int,const std::string &)' 1> c:\cpp_ext\boost\boost_1_47\boost\python\signature.hpp(218) : see declaration of 'boost::python::detail::get_signature' 1>c:\cpp_ext\boost\boost_1_47\boost\python\make_function.hpp(76): error C2780: 'boost::mpl::vector17<RT,most_derived<Target,ClassT>::type&,T0,T1,T2,T3,T4,T5,T6,T7,T8,T9,T10,T11,T12,T13,T14> boost::python::detail::get_signature(RT (__thiscall ClassT::* )(T0,T1,T2,T3,T4,T5,T6,T7,T8,T9,T10,T11,T12,T13,T14) volatile,Target *)' : expects 2 arguments - 1 provided 1> c:\cpp_ext\boost\boost_1_47\boost\python\signature.hpp(236) : see declaration of 'boost::python::detail::get_signature'

  • In python, changing MySQL query based on function variables

    - by ensnare
    I'd like to be able to add a restriction to the query if user_id != None ... for example: "AND user_id = 5" but I am not sure how to add this into the below function? Thank you. def get(id, user_id=None): query = """SELECT * FROM USERS WHERE text LIKE %s AND id = %s """ values = (search_text, id) results = DB.get(query, values) This way I can call: get(5) get(5,103524234) (contains user_id restriction)

  • <plugin> not a function

    - by bah
    Hi, I've been trying to solve this mystery almost 2 hours, this is giving me a headache. I tried 2 plug-ins already and I'm always getting "* is not a function". My code is exactly like examples so I don't know why it's not working. <!DOCTYPE html> <html lang="en"> <head> <meta charset="utf-8" /> <title>asd</title> <script type="text/javascript" src="jquery.js"></script> <script type='text/javascript' src='serial/jquery.scrollTo'></script> <script type='text/javascript' src='serial/jquery.serialScroll'></script> <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function(){ $('#slider').serialScroll({ items:'li', offset:-230, //when scrolling to photo, stop 230 before reaching it (from the left) start:1, //as we are centering it, start at the 2nd duration:1200, force:true, stop:true, lock:false, cycle:false, //don't pull back once you reach the end easing:'easeOutQuart', //use this easing equation for a funny effect jump: true //click on the images to scroll to them }); }); </script> </head> <body> <div id="slider"> <ul> <li><img width="500" height="500" src="dummy/dummy.jpg" alt="Css Template Preview" /></li> <li><img width="500" height="500" src="dummy/dummy1.jpg" alt="Css Template Preview" /></li> <li><img width="500" height="500" src="dummy/dummy2.jpg" alt="Css Template Preview" /></li> <li><img width="500" height="500" src="dummy/dummy3.jpg" alt="Css Template Preview" /></li> </ul> </div> </body> </html> I must be missing something essential there because I see nothing what's wrong. I'm using jQuery 1.4.2. and there are plug-ins I've tried - Easy Slider, jQuery serial scroll

  • passing multiple vectors to function by reference (using structure)

    - by madman
    Hi StackOverflow, Can someone tell me the correct way of passing multiple vectors to a function that can take only a single argument? (specifically for pthread_create (..) function) I tried the following but it does not seem to work :-( First, I created the following structure struct ip2 { void* obj; int dim; int n_s; vector<vector<vector<double> > > *wlist; vector<int> *nrsv; struct model *pModel; }; The threads that I have created actually needs all these parameters. Since im using pthreads_create I put all this in a structure and then passed the pointer to the structure as an argument to pthread_create (as shown). some_fxn() { //some code struct ip2 ip; ip.obj=(void*) this; ip.n_s=n_s; ip.wlist=&wlist; ip.nrsv=&nrsv; ip.pModel=pModel; ip.dim=dim; pthread_create(&callThd1[lcntr], &attr1, &Cls::Entry, (void*) &ip); } The Entry method looks something like this. void* Cls::Entry(void *ip) { struct ip2 *x; x = (struct ip2 *)ip; (reinterpret_cast<Cls1 *>(x->obj))->Run(x->dim,x->n_s, x->wlist, x->nrsv, x->pModel); } The Run method looks something like this. void Run(int dim, int n_c, vector<vector<vector<double> > > *wlist, vector<int> *nrsv, struct model* pModel ) { //some code for(int k = 0; k < n_c; ++k) { //some code end = index + nrsv[k]; //some code } I get the following error when I try to compile the program. error: no match for ‘operator+’ in ‘index + *(((std::vector<int, std::allocator<int> >*)(((unsigned int)k) * 12u)) + nrsv)’ Can someone tell me how to do it the right way. • Method/function overrides in Codeigniter

    - by pingu
    Hi guys, I want to override the validation_errors() method of the form helper in CodeIgniter for one controller only, so that it will display a single error message (as a sentence in plain english) instead of the detailed line item summary. I've tried defining a validation_errors() function in my controller, which is what I usually do with Silverstripe's Sapphire framework, but this won't with CI. What's the best way to override methods for a case by case basis?
