• Access ASP.NET control using javascript

  I have a basic javascript function like this which works as I am able to dynamically change the textbox in a javascript method at runtime. function MyTst(pVal2) { var x = document.getElementById('<%=myImage.ClientID%>'); x.src = "/images/write.gif"; } In the above code I need to be generic. So replace '<%=myImage.ClientID%' with the input param to my method which in this instance is called pVal2 and contains the asp.net server control image id. Can anyone advise on an approach to do this. I've tried lots of things and just cant seem to get it working. Thanks for any advice.

  I have created the DateTimePicker control. Now i want to add localization Support with this. I have followed the below steps. Created CustomControls.de-DE.resx inside the ResourceFolder. added some commonly used strings in that resx file changed the access modifier to Public added <SupportedCulture>de-DE;</SupportedCulture> in the csproj file. set System.Threading.Thread.CurrentThread.CurrentUICulture = new System.Globalization.CultureInfo("de-DE"); in sample.cs file before IntializeComponent(). my DateTimevalue was " 2 Day(s): 3 Hr (s): 5 Min(s) : 32 Sec (s) Getting only default language that is english. What i did wrong? Please help me anyone. Is anything i missed?

  Hi, I was just wondering if anyone knows of any free Open Source software wich demonstrates multitrack recording support? • Nuget and Source Control Files to Exclude?

  I know I should be using nuget more but at this point I don't completely understand the nuances so I still tend to either get source and build the project, then reference the project, or I create my own "dlls" folder and hand copy the dll's in. As part of my learning process, I'm trying to understand what is critical and what is not when using nuget. For example, I've done install-package restsharp and now when I check into source control, I get files like "packages/RestSharp.103.4/lib/net4/RestSharp.xml". I'm assuming that nuget will help me with upgrading and such and it needs to have certain meta data type files. My question is: Should I be ignoring any or all files in the "packages" directory? If so, what and why. Thanks

The question, how do I render those icons - does itemset support nested trigger elements? If not, how do I go about achieving it (clicking on the item results in an action other than edit or delete, so cannot use that; can show delete/edit on the page shown when user clicks on the item, but want to save that one click if the user just wants to delete the item for example). • File not found error on User control on production

  I made 2 usercontrols for sharepoint 2007 site. Everything is working fine on test server. I deployed it on production but only 1 got deployed and placed properly. The second user control is added n deployed to web part galleries but gives File not found error when i add it on web part page. I deployed it using WSP. yet it gives this error. I checked logs it did not show anything. I have no idea what to do. please help. This does not work - the the binding expression is passed as string to the control: {<uc:usercontrol runtat="server" message='<%#Me.protectedVariable%>'/>} The code behind include a Page.Databind() call in page_load. But this does work: <uc:usercontrol runat="server" id="usercontrol1"/> And in code behind page_load: usercontrol1.message = Me.protectedVariable Do I have to bind from the code-behind? Is this a page life cycle issue?

  Hi, I have followed some advices I got here today and would need a bit more help now: I have an user control with login logic. In mainForm I am using this: private void Form1_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) { LoginScreen login = new MainMenu(); login.Parent = this; login.Dock = DockStyle.Fill; login.Show(); } But I guess it is not modal and thus does not stop the original Form application. Sure I would need the main Form to do not continue until the login form is closed (and login sucessfull). Would using an event correct? Let login object to raise an event that login was successfull and let the MainForm handle it - run the app?

Then the dynamic labels will have the names and the text box with the values. To retain the values of these controls im using Page_init event. So im using cache to hold the selectteditem from the dropdownlist. Problem: The process is going fine. But if i try to refresh the page no items are selected in the dropdown list but the cache is not getting clear so using this cache value dynamic control are creating. Geetha

  I need to control the sub-path of the different different files being managed by MultipleOutputFormat based on the reducer key. I basically want to set the sub path of the file based on the key given to the reducer. I can changed the file name by overwrting the generateFileNameForKeyValue method of MultipleOutputFormatbut how can I also change the sub-path of these files? I mean with just overriding the generateFileNameForKeyValue, I get mySetJobConfigOutputPath/fileNameBasedKey1.dat /fileNameBasedKey2.dat /fileNameBasedKey3.dat ... but I want to make it to be organize files like below mySetJobConfigOutputPath/path0ConfiguredInsideReducerBasedOnKey/fileNameBasedKey1.dat /path1ConfiguredInsideReducerBasedOnKey/fileNameBasedKey2.dat /fileNameBasedKey3.dat /path2ConfiguredInsideReducerBasedOnKey/fileNameBasedKey8.dat as seen, the sub-path and the file name are both figured out by the key inside the reducer. I know how to configure the file name but was wondering if I can configure the sub-path of the each file under the mySetJobConfigOutputPath folder?

  I have a CRichEditCtrl, and an algorithm works on its contents in-place, iterating through the contents and making changes. This seems to cause it to re-paaint every time, which causes flickering and a noticeable time to complete the operation, especially if the control starts scrolling. I wondered if there's a neat way for me to stop it repainting for a period. It's actually a custom subclass of CRichEditCtrl in use so I was thinking something like: void MyCustomEditCtrl::DoAlgorithm() { enableRepaint(false); ... //to the actual work ... enableRepaint(true); } What's the neatest approach? A custom on-paint handler which does nothing when an operation is in progress? Or can repainting actually be disabled?

• Passing parameters among views in a navigation frame INSIDE a custom control

  I created a silverlight 3 application with a navigation frame and 3 views: search, add and edit. I used the app file to pass parameters among the 3 pages, eg: ((App)Application.Current).SNIPSELECTED = currentSnip; Then in the receiving page: currentSnip = ((App)Application.Current).SNIPSELECTED; currentSnip is a SnipItem object: public class SnipItem { public string itemID {get;set;} public string category {get;set;} public string itemDescription {get;set;} public string codeSnip {get;set;} } This worked fine until I decided to make this entire application into a user control and put that inside a second silverlight application with its own navigation frame and app file. The app files are getting confused. The first app file with all my parameter passing is not being read. I know how to pass a simple parameter between views in the first application without the app file (in a query string), but how about these custom types like my currentSnip above?

I already developed one class (my custom gridview) and i want use it on a .aspx That class is defined in app_code and compiled to the dll of the project. namespace MyCostumControls{  public class DropDownPagingGridView : GridView{ ... I already registered the control on the aspx page using <%@ Register Namespace="MyCostumControls" TagPrefix="ctrl" % and i can use in the page and works ok.. But i'm watching one problem. That class contains methods defined by me, than when i try to call them in code-behind sayd to me than they're not defined. In designed i don't see the reference to MyCostumControls, and when i try declare one field using protected global::MyCostumControls.MyCostumControls ddl_gv_errors, i cannot access to MyCostumControls namespace, Is because he's compiled to the project dll? I can access to all namespaces than are not contained in app_code. Solutions? Apreciate. Thanks

I want to enable the user to control the debug level (0 - no debug, 1 - only critical errors ... 5 - informative debug information). The debug log is printed to a text file. In Windows, I can do it using a registry value (DWORD DebugLevel). What can be a good replacement which works also for Linux? (Without 3rd party tools, for example Linux "registry").   I ran a C++ program in Xcode, and encountered a warning of "Control may reach end of non-void function". But in Xcode, the result was wrong. By the way, I got the correct answer and no warning in Visual Studio.

• Linux File Permissions & Access Control Query

  Hi, Lets say I am user: bob & group: users. There is this file: -rw----r-- 1 root users 4 May 8 22:34 testfile First question, why can't bob read the file as it's readable by others? Is it simply that if you are denied by group, then you are auto-blacklisted for others? I always assumed that the final 3 bits too precedence over user/group permission bits, guess I was wrong... Second question, how is this implemented? I suppose it's linked to the first query, but how does this work in relation to Access Control, is it related to how ACLs work / are queried? Just trying to understand how these 9 permission bits are actually implemented/used in Linux. Thanks alot.
