    I'm writing my own small-time game from scratch, and now I'm looking to start creating models. I've been wondering- what is the best model format to use? Given that I will be writing the model loading code myself and using whatever program generates them. Ideally, I'd look for a format that has fairly wide support between modelling programs, so I can pick the one I like most to actually perform the building, and the format itself would be relatively simple to load, rather than having all of the latest features.

  • Specify XML schema data type of decimal or blank

    Is there a way in an XML schema to specify that an element may contain either an empty string or a decimal? If I specify the type as xs:decimal like this: <xs:element name="Sample" type="xs:decimal" /> then a blank value would not pass validation: <Sample/> (I realize that the best way to indicate no value would be to not include the element, but I was wondering if there was a way to allow blank or decimal.)

    I'm attempting a few simple calculations in a def clean method following validation (basically spitting out a euro conversion of retrieved uk product price on the fly). I keep getting a TypeError. Full error reads: Cannot convert {'product': , 'invoice': , 'order_discount': Decimal("0.00"), 'order_price': {...}, 'order_adjust': None, 'order_value': None, 'DELETE': False, 'id': 92, 'quantity': 8} to Decimal so I guess django is passing through the entire cleaned_data form to Decimal method.   • SQL error - Cannot convert nvarchar to decimal

    I have a C# application that simply parses all of the txt documents within a given network directory and imports the data to a SQL server db. Everything was cruising along just fine until about the 1800th file when it happend to have a few blanks in columns that are called out as DBType.Decimal (and the value is usually zero in the files, not blank). So I got this error, "cannot convert nvarchar to decimal". I am wondering how I could tell the app to simply skip the lines that have this issue?? Perhaps I could even just change the column type to varchar even tho values are numbers (what problems could this create?)   • Why Date Format in ASP NET MVC Differs when used inside Html Helper?

    Hi, I just came across a very interesting issue. If I use ViewData to pass a DateTime value to the view and then display it inside a textbox, even though I'm using String.Format in the exact same manner, I get different formatting results when using the Html.TextBox helper. <%= Html.TextBox("datefilter", String.Format("{0:d}", ViewData["datefilter"]))%> <input id="test" name="test" type="text" value="<%: String.Format("{0:d}", ViewData["datefilter"]) %>" /> The above code renders the following html: <input id="datefilter" name="datefilter" type="text" value="2010-06-18" /> <input id="test" name="test" type="text" value="18/06/2010" /> Notice how the fist line that uses the Html helper produces the date format in one way while the second one produces a very different output. Any ideas why? Note: I'm currently in Brazil, so the standard short date format here is dd/MM/yyyy.

    Simple: I have numbers in cells in excel. I want the numbers formatted so that if they have decimal places they show to a maximum of 2DP and if they have no decimal places it doesn't show any. For example. 15 should be formatted as 15 NOT 15.00 14.3453453 should be formatted as 14.35 12.1 should be formatted as 12.1 0 should be formatted as 0 The closest custom format code I've come up with is 0.##. Unfortunately this formats 15.00 as 15. (note the extra decimal place). Edit: To further complicate the issues, the spreadsheet is a result of an export from SQL Server Reporting Services. So no macros are possible. Oh well, it looks like 0.## is my best bet, and they can just live with the extra period.

  • How to stop windows 7 from asking to format a disk?

    Hey guys, I have this USB flash drive with a Linux partition that I use inside VirtualBox. Each time I insert it into the USB port, windows keeps asking if it should format it. Is there anyway to disable Windows from asking that? Thanks. EDIT: Disabling auto-run has not resolved the problem unfortunately. Windows will still check if the disk contains a partition it knows about, and ask to format if it doesn't know it. Really nice try though, any other ideas?

    This seems to have been asked before: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1402547/rails-decimal-precision-and-scale But when running a change_column migration for :precision or :scale they don't actually affect the schema or database, but db:migrate runs without errors.     Whenever i try to format my 16 GB usb disk using gparted it does to formating and when it refreshes then show unknown. tried disk utility as well. disk utility was able to format it into FAT but files vanish web the disk is removed and attached again. edit: the disk format completes every time but when using gparted it immediately show Unknown type file system and disk utility show FAT but when the Disk is unplugged and then connected the files are not there. either way it is unusable.

    I'm really upset by now, I've been trying 2hours straight to format a stupid usb drive (I'm new to ubuntu and I dont know if I will last long at this rate) Basically this was the lubuntu boot usb key I tried to remove files with sudo rm I tried to format disk with disk utility I tried to format disk with gparted (with unmounting beforehand) NOTHING WORKS. I cant delete a file. I cant move a file to the usb key. I cant do anything. This is really infuriating..   • Excel changing decimal places on number cells when I edit the cell's formula

    I have a worksheet with thousands of number cells, all formatted "Number, 3 decimal places, use 1000 Separator ()". Starting a few days ago, if I edit a formula in any of these cells to reference another cell, Excel will change the decimal places to 14. For example, "=C$53^$B$4" = "=C$53^$B$10" will cause this. I am not aware of any settings being changed. Any ideas why this is happening and how to fix this?

    I'm having a proprietary image format SNG( a proprietary format) which is having a countinous array of Image data along with Image meta information in seperate HDR file. Now I need to convert this SNG format to a Standard TIFF 6.0 Format. So I studied the TIFF format i.e. about its Header, Image File Directories( IFD's) and Stripped Image Data. Now I have few concerns about this conversion. Please assist me. SNG Continous Data vs TIFF Stripped Data: Should I convert SNG Data to TIFF as a continous data in one Strip( data load/edit time problem?) OR make logical StripOffsets of the SNG Image data. SNG Data Header uses only necessary Meta Information, thus while converting the SNG to TIFF, some information can’t be retrieved such as NewSubFileType, Software Tag etc. So this raises a concern that after conversion whether any missing directory information such as NewSubFileType, Software Tag etc is necessary and sufficient condition for TIFF File. Encoding of each pixel component of RGB Sample in SNG data: Here each SNG Image Data Strip per Pixel component is encoded as: Out^[i] := round( LineBuffer^[i * 3] * **0.072169** + LineBuffer^[i * 3 + 1] * **0.715160** + LineBuffer^[i * 3+ 2]* **0.212671**); Only way I deduce from it is that each Pixel is represented with 3 RGB component and some coefficient is multiplied with each component to make the SNG Viewer work RGB color information of SNG Image Data. (Developer who earlier work on this left, now i am following the trace :)) Thus while converting this to TIFF, the decoding the same needs to be done. This raises a concern that the how RBG information in TIFF is produced, or better do we need this information?. Please assist...

  • Common Lisp's equivalent of \r inside the format function?

    Basically, I'd like to do the following, only using Common Lisp instead of Python: print("Hello world.\r\n") I can do this, but it only outputs the #\newline character and skips #\return: (format t "Hello world.~%") I believe I could accomplish this using an outside argument, like this: (format t "Hello world.~C~%" #\return) But is seems awkward to me. Surely I can somehow embed #\return into the very format string, like I can #\newline? Yeah ehh, I'm nitpicking. Thanks for any help!
