  • Cannot populate form with ajax and populate jquery plugin

    - by Azriel_
    I'm trying to populate a form with jquery's populate plugin, but using $.ajax The idea is to retrieve data from my database according to the id in the links (ex of link: get_result_edit.php?id=34), reformulate it to json, return it to my page and fill up the form up with the populate plugin. But somehow i cannot get it to work. Any ideas: here's the code: $('a').click(function(){ $('#updatediv').hide('slow'); $.ajax({ type: "GET", url: "get_result_edit.php", success: function(data) { var $response=$(data); $('#form1').populate($response); } }); $('#updatediv').fadeIn('slow'); return false; whilst the php file states as follow: <?php $conn = new mysqli('localhost', 'XXXX', 'XXXXX', 'XXXXX'); @$query = 'Select * FROM news WHERE id ="'.$_GET['id'].'"'; $stmt = $conn->query($query) or die ($mysql->error()); if ($stmt) { $results = $stmt->fetch_object(); // get database data $json = json_encode($results); // convert to JSON format echo $json; } ?> Now first thing is that the mysql returns a null in this way: is there something wrong with he declaration of the sql statement in the $_GET part? Second is that even if i put a specific record to bring up, populate doesn't populate. Update: I changed the populate library with the one called "PHP jQuery helper functions" and the difference is that finally it says something. finally i get an error saying NO SUCH ELEMENT AS i wen into the library to have a look and up comes the following function function populateFormElement(form, name, value) { // check that the named element exists in the form var name = name; // handle non-php naming var element = form[name]; if(element == undefined) { debug('No such element as ' + name); return false; } // debug options if(options.debug) { _populate.elements.push(element); } } Now looking at it one can see that it should print out also the name, but its not printing it out. so i'm guessing that retrieving the name form the json is not working correctly. Link is at http://www.ocdmonline.org/michael/edit%5Fnews.php with username: Testing and pass:test123 Any ideas?

  • Retrieve jquery-ui dialog's div

    - by Hikari
    When we apply $().dialog() in an object, jquery-ui puts it inside a <div class="ui-dialog ui-widget">, with a <div class="ui-dialog-titlebar ui-widget-header"> before it. After the creation of this dialog around the main object, how can we get that ui-dialog object so that we can execute other JavaScript commands in it? The best I could do was use .parent(".ui-dialog") in the main object, is there a better way to do it?

  • how to find selected elements with Jquery UI selectable

    - by kevzettler
    Hi All, I am looking for info on the event and ui objects the jquery selectable events: "selecting", and "start" take as parameters. I cannot find this in the documentation and looping through the properties is no help. $('#content_td_account').selectable({ filter: 'li:not(".non_draggable")', selecting: function(event, ui) { } }); Specifically I want to find what elements are being selected and check them to see if their parent elements are the same or not. I assumed this would be in the ui object some where.

  • JQuery UI Autocomplete - disallow free text entry?

    - by JK
    Is it possible to disallow free text entry in the JQuery UI autocomplete widget? eg I only want the user to be allowed to select from the list of items that are presented in the autocomplete list, and dont want them to be able to write some random text. I didn't see anything in the demos/docs describing how to do this. http://jqueryui.com/demos/autocomplete/ I'm using autocomplete like this $('#selector').autocomplete({ source: url, minlength: 2, select: function (event, ui) { // etc }

  • JQuery UI Tabs - "Loading..." message

    - by Balu
    All, I am using Jquery UI nested tabs. I was just wondering if there is any way to display an AJAX Spinner image next to the tab text, while the tab is loading. I do not want to change the tab text to "Loading..". Consider that when multiple tabs are loading at the same time or one after the other, the spinner image should be displayed next to each loading tab.. Any Suggestions? Thanks

  • jquery ajax post callback - manipulation stops after the "third" call

    - by shanyu
    EDIT: The problem is not related to Boxy, I've run into the same issue when I've used JQuery 's load method. EDIT 2: When I take out link.remove() from inside the ajax callback and place it before ajax load, the problem is no more. Are there restrictions for manipulating elements inside an ajax callback function. I am using JQuery with Boxy plugin. When the 'Flag' link on the page is clicked, a Boxy modal pops-up and loads a form via ajax. When the user submits the form, the link (<a> tag) is removed and a new one is created from the ajax response. This mechanism works for, well, 3 times! After the 3rd, the callback function just does not remove/replace/append (tested several variations of manipulation) the element. The only hint I have is that after the 3rd call, the parent of the link becomes non-selectable. However I can't make anything of this. Sorry if this is a very trivial issue, I have no experience in client-side programming. The relevant html is below: <div class="flag-link"> <img class="flag-img" style="width: 16px; visibility: hidden;" src="/static/images/flag.png" alt=""/> <a class="unflagged" href="/i/flag/showform/9/1/?next=/users/1/ozgurisil">Flag</a> </div> Here is the relevant js code: $(document).ready(function() { $('div.flag-link a.unflagged').live('click', function(e){ doFlag(e); return false; }); ... }); function doFlag(e) { var link = $(e.target); var url = link.attr('href'); Boxy.load(url, {title:'Inappropriate Content', unloadOnHide:true, cache:false, behaviours: function(r) { $("#flag-form").live("submit", function(){ var post_url = $("#flag-form").attr('action'); boxy = Boxy.get(this); boxy.hideAndUnload(); $.post(post_url, $("#flag-form").serialize(), function(data){ par = link.parent(); par.append(data); alert (par.attr('class')); //BECOMES UNDEFINED AT THE 3RD CALL!! par.children('img.flag-img').css('visibility', 'visible'); link.remove(); }); return false; }); }}); }

  • Setting Tab Order on UI Elements in jQuery Dialog

    - by McNamron
    Is there a way to specify the tab order of the elements within a jQuery Dialog which itself contains an Accordion? The dialog also specifies one button in the buttons options. For accessibility, we need to be able to tab through the accordion panes, the form elements in each accordion, the button in the buttons options, and the close icon of the dialog itself, but tabbing seems to be skipping over the button in the buttons options, and I can't find any resource that has a resolution for this sort of problem.

  • Mobile HCM: It’s not the future, it is right now

Come on, admit it, it’s ok, you are among friends here. See, feel better now? But seriously, the incredible growth and near-ubiquity of increasingly powerful, capable, and for many of us, essential in our daily lives mobile devices has profoundly changed the way we communicate, consume information, socialize, and more and more, conduct business and get our work done. And if you doubt that profound change has happened, just think for a moment about the last time you misplaced your iPhone.  The shivers, the cold sweats, the panic... We have all been there. And indeed your personal experiences with mobile technology echoes throughout the world - here are a few data points to consider: Market research firm IDC estimates 1.8 billion mobile phones will be shipped in 2012. A recent Pew study reports 46% of Americans own a smartphone of some kind. And finally in the USA, ownership of tablets like the iPad has doubled from 10% to 19% in the last year. So truly for the Human Resources leader, the question is no longer, ‘Should HR explore ways to exploit mobile devices and their always-on nature to better support and empower the modern workforce?’, but rather ‘How can HR best take advantage of smartphone and tablet capability to provide information, enable transactions, and enhance decision making?’. Because even though moving HCM applications to mobile devices seems inherently logical given today’s fast-moving and mobile workforces, and its promise to deliver incredible value to the organization, HR leaders also have to consider many factors before devising their Mobile HCM strategy and embarking on mobile HR technology projects. Here are just some of the important considerations for HR leaders as you build your strategies and evaluate mobile HCM solutions: Does your organization provide mobile devices to the workforce today, and if so, will the current set of deployed devices have the necessary capability and ecosystems to support your mobile HCM initiatives? Will you allow workers to use or bring their own mobile devices, (commonly abbreviated as ‘BYOD’), and if so are your IT and Security organizations in agreement and capable of supporting that strategy? Do you know which workers need access to mobile HCM applications? Often mobile HCM capability flows down in an organization, with executives and other ‘road-warrior’ types having the most immediate needs, followed by field sales staff, project managers, and even potential job candidates. But just as an organization will have to spend time understanding ‘who’ should have access to mobile HCM technology, the ‘what’ of the way the solutions should be deployed to these groups will also vary. What works and makes sense for the executive, (company-wide dashboards and analytics on an iPad), might not be as relevant for a retail store manager, (employee schedules, location-level sales and inventory data, transaction approvals, etc.). With Oracle Fusion HCM, we are taking an approach to mobile HR that encompasses not just the mobile solution needs for the various types of worker, but also incorporates the fundamental attributes of great mobile applications - the ability to support end-to-end transactions, apps that respond with lightning-fast speed, with functions that are embedded in a worker’s daily activities, and features that can be mashed-up easily with other business areas like Finance and CRM. Finally, and perhaps most importantly for the Oracle Fusion HCM team, delivering mobile experiences that truly enhance, enable, and empower the mobile workforce, and deliver on the design mantras of the best-in-class consumer applications, continues to shape and drive design decisions. Mobile is no longer the future, it is right now, and the cutting-edge HR leader of today will need to consider how mobile fits her HCM technology strategy from here on out. • Selected value from drop-down list doesn't post from jquery dialog

  • Working on a jQuery plugin : viewport simulator

    - by pixelboy
    Hi community, i'm working on a jQuery plugin that's aiming to simulate one axis camera movements. The first step to achieving this is simple : use conventional, clean markup, and get the prototype to work. Heres how to initiate the plugin : $('#wrapper').fluidGrids({exclude: '.exclude'}); Here's a working demo of the WIP thing : http://sandbox.test.everestconseil.com/protoCitroen/home.html Where am I having issues : Is there a fast way to detect if parent of each target (clickable animated element) is a href link, and if so to save this url ? My clone uses the original background image to then animate it.fade it to black/white. But when you clik on an element, image url is found, but doesn't seem to be injected. Do you see anything ? Finally, about animation of elements : as you can see in source code, I'm using the container $('#wrapper') to position all animated children. What would be the perfect properties to apply to make this cross browser proof ? Here's the source code for the plugin, fully commented. (function($){ $.fn.extend({ //plugin name - fluidGrids fluidGrids: function(options) { //List and default values for available options var defaults = { //The target that we're going to use to handle click event hitTarget: '.animateMe', exclude: '.exclude', animateSpeed: 1000 }; var options = $.extend(defaults, options); return this.each(function() { var o = options; //Assign current element to variable var obj = $(this); //We assign default width height and positions to each object in order to get them back when necessary var objPosition = obj.position(); //Get all ready to animate targets in innerViewport var items = $(o.hitTarget, obj); //Final coords of innerViewport var innerViewport = new Object(); innerViewport.top = parseInt(objPosition.top); innerViewport.left = parseInt(objPosition.left); innerViewport.bottom = obj.height(); innerViewport.right = obj.width(); items.each(function(e){ //Assign a pointer cursor to each clickable element $(this).css("cursor","pointer"); //To load distant url at last, we look for it in Title Attribute if ($(this).attr('title').length){ var targetUrl = $(this).attr('title'); } //We assign default width height and positions to each object in order to get them back when necessary var itemPosition = $(this).position(); var itemTop = itemPosition.top; var itemLeft = itemPosition.left; var itemWidth = $(this).width(); var itemHeight = $(this).height(); //Both the original and it's animated clone var original = $(this); //To give the if (original.css('background-image')){ var urlImageOriginal = original.css('background-image').replace(/^url|[("")]/g, ''); var imageToInsert = "<img src="+urlImageOriginal+"/>" } var clone = $(this).clone(); original.click(function() { $(clone).append(imageToInsert); $(clone).attr("id","clone"); $(clone).attr('top',itemTop); $(clone).attr('left',itemLeft); $(clone).css("position","absolute"); $(clone).insertAfter(this); $(this).hide(); $(clone).animate({ top: innerViewport.top, left: innerViewport.left, width: innerViewport.bottom, height: innerViewport.right }, obj.animateSpeed); $("*",obj).not("#clone, #clone * , a , "+ o.exclude).fadeOut('fast'); //Si l'objet du click est un lien return false; }); }); }); } }); })(jQuery);

  • Focusing on Mobile @ Oracle OpenWorld

    - by Carlos Chang
    Plenty of exciting trends in the industry today: Cloud, Big Data, Mobile, etc. The first two are amazing of course, but for me, it's mobile, mobile and... MOBILE.   Why? Think back to the mozilla browser (Marc Andreessen's mozilla, not today's mozilla.org), Netscape and the nascent beginnings of the World Wide Web. Amazing times. Companies were just starting to set up their home pages, basic HTML, hyperlinks, images, ooooh, aaaah.  Yahoo! was *the* search engine back then. :-\   Anywhoo, I would pose that mobile today, we are in a similar junction. Sure, there's millions of apps on Apple's App Store and Google Play, but within the enterprise, it's just getting started. I'm talking about going beyond the simple, tactical apps such as calendaring, contacts or directory service lookup. And while mobile first a common mantra, I'm referring to mobile plus which includes and looks upon the whole enterprise holistically and adds new parameters, such as your GPS location, perhaps even your vital signs. (Apple's health kit?)  Everything is going mobile. Everything connected. But with the enterprise - scalability, security, integration, app management, user management, etc. Amazing times ahead. Ok, got that off my mind. Oracle OpenWorld 2014 - Going Mobile!  If you're coming to the big dance, I've highlighted some key mobile sessions below. And if you see me around, and there's a bar within reach, high five me for a beer. • JQUERY UI Accordion Resize on Window Resize?

    - by nobosh
    I'm using the JQUERY UI Accordion module: <script type="text/javascript"> $(function() { $("#sidebar_column_accordion").accordion({ fillSpace: true, icons: { 'header': 'ui-icon-plus', 'headerSelected': 'ui-icon-minus' } }); }); </script> By using the fillSpace option, the accordion takes up the entire height of the window which I want. Problem is it calculate the height on page load, and if the user resizes their browser, it does not adjust... Is there a way to have the accordion recalculate the height/size when the browser window is resized? Thanks

  • jQuery Sortable - Limit number of items in list.

    - by Adam
    I have a schedule table I'm using jQuiry Sortable for editing. Each day is a UL, and each event is an LI. My jQuery is: $("#colSun, #colMon, #colTue, #colWed, #colThu").sortable({ connectWith: '.timePieces', items: 'li:not(.lith)' }).disableSelection(); To make all LI's sortable except those with class "lith" (day names). User can drag an event from day to day, or add new events by clicking a button, which appends a new dragable event (LI) to the fist UL (Sunday). I want to make each day accept only up to 10 events. How do I do this? Thanks in advance!

  • jQuery UI Dialog Button Icons

    - by Cory Grimster
    Is it possible to add icons to the buttons on a jQuery UI Dialog? I've tried doing it this way: $("#DeleteDialog").dialog({ resizable: false, height:150, modal: true, buttons: { 'Delete': function() { /* Do stuff */ $(this).dialog('close'); }, Cancel: function() { $(this).dialog('close'); } }, open: function() { $('.ui-dialog-buttonpane').find('button:contains("Cancel")').addClass('ui-icon-cancel'); $('.ui-dialog-buttonpane').find('button:contains("Delete")').addClass('ui-icon-trash'); } }); The selectors in the open function seem to be working fine. If I add the following to "open": $('.ui-dialog-buttonpane').find('button:contains("Delete")').css('color', 'red'); then I do get a Delete button with red text. That's not bad, but I'd really like that little trash can sprite on the Delete button as well.

  • jquery ui autocomplete is changing my listbox

    - by oo
    I am trying to change my comboboxes to use autocomplete so i leverage the code listed here (which worked perfectly for my dropdowns) The issue is that i also on the same page have a listbox with the following code: <%= Html.ListBox("Cars", Model.BodyParts.Select( x => new SelectListItem { Text = x.Name, Value = x.Id, Selected = Model.CarsSelected.Any(y => y.Id == x.Id) } ))%> and it appears that the jquery ui code is changing this to a autocomplete dropdown as well (as opposed to keeping it as a multi select list box) any idea how to prevent this from happening?

  • Update JQuery Progressbar with JSON Response in an ajax Request

    - by Vincent
    All, I have an AJAX request, which makes a JSON request to a server, to get the sync status. The JSON Request and responses are as under: I want to display a JQuery UI progressbar and update the progressbar status, as per the percentage returned in the getStatus JSON response. If the status is "insync", then the progressbar should not appear and a message should be displayed instead. Ex: "Server is in Sync". How can I do this? //JSON Request to getStatus { "header": { "type": "request" }, "payload": [ { "data": null, "header": { "action": "load", } } ] } //JSON Response of getStatus (When status not 100%) { "header": { "type": "response", "result": 400 }, "payload": [ { "header": { "result": 400 }, "data": { "status": "pending", "percent": 20 } } ] } //JSON Response of getStatus (When percent is 100%) { "header": { "type": "response", "result": 400 }, "payload": [ { "header": { "result": 400 }, "data": { "status": "insync" } } ] }

  • JQuery dirtyForm not working on text boxes in ajaxToolkit:TabPanel

    - by dustinson
    I'm a newb to jQ so please forgive my ignorance. I'm using Asa Wilson's plugin jquery.dirtyform.js to prompt a user of unsaved changes before they nav away from a page (ASP.Net C# 3.5). It basically loops through all controls and appends a class and handler to each input. Controls w/i an ajaxToolkit:TabPanel are ignored, unfortunately. I'd appreciate if anyone knows of this type of error and how to resolve it short of manually manipulating each control (as I have this logic in the master page). Thank you.
