SharePoint 2010 PowerShell Script to Find All SPShellAdmins with Database Name

Problem Yesterday on Twitter my friend @cacallahan asked for some help on how she could get all SharePoint 2010 SPShellAdmin users and the associated database name. I spent a few minutes and wrote up a script that gets this information and decided I’d post it here for others to enjoy. Background The Get-SPShellAdmin commandlet returns a listing of SPShellAdmins for the given database Id you pass in, or the farm configuration database by default. For those unfamiliar, SPShellAdmin access is necessary for non-admin users to run PowerShell commands against a SharePoint 2010 farm (content and configuration databases specifically). Solution Below is the script I wrote (formatted for space and to include comments) to provide the information needed. Script language native extensions - avoiding name collisions and cluttering others' namespace

I have developed a small scripting language and I've just started writing the very first native library bindings. This is practically the first time I'm writing a native extension to a script language, so I've run into a conceptual issue. I'd like to write glue code for popular libraries so that they can be used from this language, and because of the design of the engine I've written, this is achieved using an array of C structs describing the function name visible by the virtual machine, along with a function pointer. Thus, a native binding is really just a global array variable, and now I must obviously give it a (preferably good) name. In C, it's idiomatic to put one's own functions in a "namespace" by prepending a custom prefix to function names, as in myscript_parse_source() or myscript_run_bytecode(). The custom name shall ideally describe the name of the library which it is part of. Here arises the confusion. Let's say I'm writing a binding for libcURL. In this case, it seems reasonable to call my extension library curl_myscript_binding, like this: MYSCRIPT_API const MyScriptExtFunc curl_myscript_lib[10]; But now this collides with the curl namespace. (I have even thought about calling it curlmyscript_lib but unfortunately, libcURL does not exclusively use the curl_ prefix -- the public APIs contain macros like CURLCODE_* and CURLOPT_*, so I assume this would clutter the namespace as well.) Another option would be to declare it as myscript_curl_lib, but that's good only as long as I'm the only one who writes bindings (since I know what I am doing with my namespace). As soon as other contributors start to add their own native bindings, they now clutter the myscript namespace. (I've done some research, and it seems that for example the Perl cURL binding follows this pattern. Not sure what I should think about that...) So how do you suggest I name my variables? Are there any general guidelines that should be followed?

Unity Desktop not loading and ccsm method not working

I installed Ubuntu 13.04 x86_64 on my HP Pavillion DV7-6c60us. It installs fine and works until I update. I run the software updater and reboot as it requests after. When my computer comes back on I get the desktop background but the rest of the Unity desktop doesn't load. I've tried the ccsm method and re-enabling but it just de-enables itself. I've also tried installing the gnome desktop but that does nothing for me either. I really want to switch to Ubuntu but this is causing issues. P.S. I've also tried using 12.10 and 12.04 with no dice.

Say I have a domain www.mydomain.com I setup my 2 name servers: ns1.mydomain.com - 192.168.0.1 ns2.mydomain.com - 192.168.0.2 1) How does the world know that my name servers are now at ns1.mydomain and ns2.mydomain. I read about setting up glue records at my registrar. Could you please elaborate on this, i.e. once i setup these glue records, can I now use my name servers in NS records for any other domain? For e.g. NS records for www.otherdomain.com - ns1.mydomain.com/ns2.mydomain.com 2) Given I setup the glue records as mentioned above, do I "have to" update mydomain.com NS records to point to my name servers? Can I keep mydomain.com NS records pointing to my registrars name servers, however use ns1.mydomain.com/ns2.mydomain.com as name servers for any other domain I own? Thanks

Web stalker has purchased a domain name that uses my personal name, web page is defamatory [closed]

We have been unsuccessful in persuading a stalker's website host to release the domain name he purchased which is my own personal name, e.g., PERSONALNAME.com. You will find my name below in the signature area. Look for yourself. On the one page that this domain name leades to is dreadful and defamatory material. No attorney has felt it worth their time to chase this issue down, and we cannot afford to go to a national or international dispute resolution group to bring this issue to WHOIS. Worse, the stalker is amoral and a psychopath: he would just love the attention. We've even consider trying to find someone to illegally hack into the webpage to at least redirect the domain pointers to my own professional website. This issue has continued now for two years and is affecting my professional reputations as potential clients have looked for me online. Is there any remedy? Your help and advice would be greatly welcomed.

I just found out that the same name is being used by a, seemingly popular, SourceForge project. Is this a problem? Print to file in Black and White (but not in greyscale) [not printer specific]

Hi all, I have these pdf files of c++code and they are colored which would be cool, except that the network printer here is b&w and the printed out codes come in various shades of pale grey which makes them essentially unreadable (specially the comments). I would like everything (text, codes, commands,...) to be printed in the same (black) color. i've tried fuddling with the printer's properties, but the closest thing i see is the 'level of grey' tab, and there i have the choice between 'enhanced' and 'normal' (and it doesn't make a difference in my case). i've tried 'print to file', but i don't see any options there to print to b&w, I've tried installing the 'generic cups printer', but again no options to print to b&w. any idea ? (i'm on 10.10)

For the life of me, I can not get this to work. I can get MouseEnter, MouseLeave, and Click events to fire, but not MouseLeftButtonDown or MouseLeftButtonUp. I want to search for a user's email by using Active Directory. Available is the user's full name (ex. "John Doe" for the email with an email "[email protected]"). From what I've searched, this comes close to what I'm looking to do -- except that the Filter is set to "SAMAccountName", which is not what I have. Unless I'm misunderstanding, I just need to pick the right attribute and toss in the full name name in the same way. Unfortunately, I don't know what this attribute is, apparently no one has had to ask about searching for information in this manner, and that is a pretty big list (msdn * microsoft * com/en-us/library/ms675090(v=VS.85) * aspx, stackoverflow didn't let me link 2 hyperlinks because I don't have 10 rep) of attributes. Does anyone know how to obtain the user's email address through an Active Directory lookup by using the user's full name?

I have a "Website" table in the database that stores the configuration values related to each domain name: Website - domain - name - tagline - admin_email - etc... At the moment, I load the website object at the start of each request (before_filter) in my ApplicationController: @website = Website.find_by_domain(request.host) The problem is when I need to access the @website object from my models methods. I would like to avoid to have to pass @website everywhere. How to parse out MS Word formatting?

I have a rich html textbox on my asp.net mvc application. The rich html textbox is some jquery plugin that I use and has basic stuff like bold,underline and etc. Now I am anticipating that people will maybe write something in word and then copy and paste it into my textbox. However I limit the number of characters a person can have. This is a test to show how much formatting gets made. • One • Two • Three So I wrote that above(it does not copy to well into here). Basically it is a line of text and "how" is bold and the "one,two,three" are a bullet list. Word says it is 70 characters long with spacing. Wildcard mapping in IIS 7.0 not working

I can't seem to get the ASP.NET engine to handle ALL wildcard mapping. When I try to make a request that is supposed to be handled by the asp.net engine, i get a 404 error from the StaticFile handler Here is the content of my web.config file.
