  • Android, sending XML via HTTP POST (SOAP)

    - by Intosia
    Hi, I would like to invoke a webservice via Android. I need to POST some XML to a URL via HTTP. I found this snipped for sending a POST, but i dont know how to include/add the XML data itself. public void postData() { // Create a new HttpClient and Post Header HttpClient httpclient = new DefaultHttpClient(); HttpPost httppost = new HttpPost("http://10.10.4.35:53011/"); try { // Add your data List<NameValuePair> nameValuePairs = new ArrayList<NameValuePair>(2); nameValuePairs.add(new BasicNameValuePair("Content-Type", "application/soap+xml")); httppost.setEntity(new UrlEncodedFormEntity(nameValuePairs)); // Where/how to add the XML data? // Execute HTTP Post Request HttpResponse response = httpclient.execute(httppost); } catch (ClientProtocolException e) { // TODO Auto-generated catch block } catch (IOException e) { // TODO Auto-generated catch block } } This is the complete POST message that i need to imitate: POST /a8103e90-f1e3-11dd-bfdb-8b1fcff1a110 HTTP/1.1 Host: 10.10.4.35:53011 Content-Type: application/soap+xml Content-Length: 602 <?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8' ?> <s12:Envelope xmlns:s12="http://www.w3.org/2003/05/soap-envelope" xmlns:wsa="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/ws/2004/08/addressing"> <s12:Header> <wsa:MessageID>urn:uuid:fc061d40-3d63-11df-bfba-62764ccc0e48</wsa:MessageID> <wsa:Action>http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/ws/2004/09/transfer/Get</wsa:Action> <wsa:To>urn:uuid:a8103e90-f1e3-11dd-bfdb-8b1fcff1a110</wsa:To> <wsa:ReplyTo> <wsa:Address>http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/ws/2004/08/addressing/role/anonymous</wsa:Address> </wsa:ReplyTo> </s12:Header> <s12:Body /> </s12:Envelope>

  • Adding visible "Markers" to represent Geopoints to a MapView using ItemizedOverlay in Android

    - by LordSnoutimus
    Hello, I am building an application which stores GPS locations in a SQLite database and then outputs the data onto a MapView using an Overlay by drawing a red line between the points. I want to be able to show graphical markers (images) for each of these points as well as the red line. My code is as follows: public class MyOverlay extends ItemizedOverlay { // private Projection projection; private Paint linePaint; private Vector points; public MyOverlay(Drawable defaultMarker) { super(defaultMarker); points = new Vector<GeoPoint>(); //set colour, stroke width etc. linePaint = new Paint(); linePaint.setARGB(255, 255, 0, 0); linePaint.setStrokeWidth(3); linePaint.setDither(true); linePaint.setStyle(Style.FILL); linePaint.setAntiAlias(true); linePaint.setStrokeJoin(Paint.Join.ROUND); linePaint.setStrokeCap(Paint.Cap.ROUND); } public void addPoint(GeoPoint point) { populate(); points.addElement(point); } //public void setProjection(Projection projection) { // this.projection = projection; // } public void draw(Canvas canvas, MapView view, boolean shadow) { populate(); int size = points.size(); Point lastPoint = new Point(); if(size == 0) return; view.getProjection().toPixels(points.get(0), lastPoint); Point point = new Point(); for(int i = 1; i<size; i++){ view.getProjection().toPixels(points.get(i), point); canvas.drawLine(lastPoint.x, lastPoint.y, point.x, point.y, linePaint); lastPoint = point; } } @Override protected OverlayItem createItem(int arg0) { // TODO Auto-generated method stub return null; } @Override public int size() { // TODO Auto-generated method stub return 0; } } What would be the easiest way to implement adding markers for each GeoPoint? Thanks

  • Overlay only draws line between first 2 GPS points in Android

    - by LordSnoutimus
    Hi, I am experiencing an unusual error using ItemizedOverlay in Android. I am creating a GPS tracking device that plots a route between waypoints stored in a database. When I provide the first two sets of longitude and latitude points through the emulator in Eclipse, it draws a red line just how I want it, but if I send another GPS point, it animates to the point, but does not draw a line from the last point. public class MyOverlay extends ItemizedOverlay { // private Projection projection; private Paint linePaint; private Vector points; public MyOverlay(Drawable defaultMarker) { super(defaultMarker); points = new Vector<GeoPoint>(); //set colour, stroke width etc. linePaint = new Paint(); linePaint.setARGB(255, 255, 0, 0); linePaint.setStrokeWidth(3); linePaint.setDither(true); linePaint.setStyle(Style.FILL); linePaint.setAntiAlias(true); linePaint.setStrokeJoin(Paint.Join.ROUND); linePaint.setStrokeCap(Paint.Cap.ROUND); } public void addPoint(GeoPoint point) { points.addElement(point); } public void draw(Canvas canvas, MapView view, boolean shadow) { int size = points.size(); Point lastPoint = new Point(); if(size == 0) return; view.getProjection().toPixels(points.get(0), lastPoint); Point point = new Point(); for(int i = 1; i<size; i++){ view.getProjection().toPixels(points.get(i), point); canvas.drawLine(lastPoint.x, lastPoint.y, point.x, point.y, linePaint); lastPoint = point; } } @Override protected OverlayItem createItem(int arg0) { // TODO Auto-generated method stub return null; } @Override public int size() { // TODO Auto-generated method stub return 0; } }

  • Android addTextChangedListener onTextChanged not fired when Backspace is pressed?

    - by tsil
    I use addTextChangeListener to filter a list items. When the user enters a character on the editText, items are filtered based on user input. For example, if the user enters "stackoverflow", all items that contains "stackoverflow" are displayed. It works fine except that once the user press backspace to delete character(s), items are no longer filtered until he deletes all characters. For example, my items are: "stackoverflow 1", "stackoverflow 2", "stackoverflow 3", "stackoverflow 4". If user input is "stackoverflow", all items are displayed. If user input is "stackoverflow 1", only "stackoverflow 1" is displayed. Then user deletes the last 2 characters (1 and the space). User input is now "stackoverflow" but "stackoverflow 1" is still displayed and the other items are not displayed. This is my custom filter: private class ServiceFilter extends Filter { @Override protected FilterResults performFiltering(CharSequence constraint) { FilterResults results = new FilterResults(); if (constraint == null || constraint.length() == 0) { // No filter implemented we return all the list results.values = origServiceList; results.count = origServiceList.size(); } else { List<ServiceModel> nServiceList = new ArrayList<ServiceModel>(); for (ServiceModel s : serviceList) { if (s.getName().toLowerCase().contains(constraint.toString().toLowerCase())) { nServiceList.add(s); } } results.values = nServiceList; results.count = nServiceList.size(); } return results; } @Override protected void publishResults(CharSequence constraint, FilterResults results) { if (results.count == 0) { notifyDataSetInvalidated(); } else { serviceList = (List<ServiceModel>) results.values; notifyDataSetChanged(); } } } And how I handle text change event: inputSearch.addTextChangedListener(new TextWatcher() { @Override public void afterTextChanged(Editable arg0) { // TODO Auto-generated method stub } @Override public void beforeTextChanged(CharSequence arg0, int arg1, int arg2, int arg3) { // TODO Auto-generated method stub } @Override public void onTextChanged(CharSequence cs, int arg1, int arg2, int arg3) { if (cs.length() >= 1) { mAdapter.getFilter().filter(cs); } else { mAdapter = new ServiceAdapter(MyActivity.this, R.layout.ussd_list_item, serviceList); listView.setAdapter(mAdapter); } } });

  • AutoCompleteTextView displays 'android.database.sqlite.SQLiteCursor@'... after making selection

    - by user244190
    I am using the following code to set the adapter (SimpleCursorAdapter) for an AutoCompleteTextView mComment = (AutoCompleteTextView) findViewById(R.id.comment); Cursor cComments = myAdapter.getDistinctComments(); scaComments = new SimpleCursorAdapter(this,R.layout.auto_complete_item,cComments,new String[] {DBAdapter.KEY_LOG_COMMENT},new int[]{R.id.text1}); mComment.setAdapter(scaComments); auto_complete_item.xml <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <TextView xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:id="@+id/text1" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content"/> and thi is the xml for the actual control <AutoCompleteTextView android:id="@+id/comment" android:hint="@string/COMMENT" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:textSize="18dp"/> The dropdown appears to work correctly, and shows a list of items. When I make a selection from the list I get a sqlite object ('android.database.sqlite.SQLiteCursor@'... ) in the textview. Anyone know what would cause this, or how to resolve this? thanks Ok I am able to hook into the OnItemClick event, but the TextView.setText() portion of the AutoCompleteTextView widget is updated after this point. The OnItemSelected() event never gets fired, and the onNothingSelected() event gets fired when the dropdown items are first displayed. mComment.setOnItemClickListener( new OnItemClickListener() { @Override public void onItemClick(AdapterView<?> arg0, View arg1, int arg2, long arg3) { // TODO Auto-generated method stub SimpleCursorAdapter sca = (SimpleCursorAdapter) arg0.getAdapter(); String str = getSpinnerSelectedValue(sca,arg2,"comment"); TextView txt = (TextView) arg1; txt.setText(str); Toast.makeText(ctx, "onItemClick", Toast.LENGTH_SHORT).show(); } }); mComment.setOnItemSelectedListener(new OnItemSelectedListener() { @Override public void onItemSelected(AdapterView<?> arg0, View arg1, int arg2, long arg3) { Toast.makeText(ctx, "onItemSelected", Toast.LENGTH_SHORT).show(); } @Override public void onNothingSelected(AdapterView<?> arg0) { // TODO Auto-generated method stub Toast.makeText(ctx, "onNothingSelected", Toast.LENGTH_SHORT).show(); } }); Anyone alse have any ideas on how to override the updating of the TextView? thanks patrick

  • android app working on simulator but not on phone

    - by raqz
    i have this app that i developed and it works great on the simulator with no errors what so ever. but the moment i try to run the same on the phone for testing, the app crashes stating filenotfoundexception. it says the file /res/drawable/divider_horizontal.9.png is missing. but actually speaking, i have never referenced that file through my code. i believe its a system/os file that is unavailable. i have a custom list view, i guess its the divider there... could somebody please suggest what is wrong here. i believe this is a similar issue discussed here..but i am unable to make But please don't tell me the answer how to do it properly. I'm trying to figure it out myself. The only think I would like to know if I'm deleting my memory in proper way. Thanks.

  • using ResultSet.Previous method not working in Java using .mdb file OBDC

    - by jsonnie
    Hello, I'm currently having an issue with my open result set not working how I believe it should. The only function that is currently working is the next() method, nothing else will work. If the project is placed into a debug mode you can follow through actionperformed event on the button it hits the previous() method and jumps over the remaining code in the method. • RegistryKey ValueCount/SubKeyCount wrong

    I am trying to query the following registry key values: HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MSSQLServer\Client\SharedMemoryOn HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MSSQLServer\Client\SuperSocketNetLib\ProtocolOrder But depending on which machine I'm running the program the query returns null. • New Perl user: using a hash of arrays

    - by Zach H
    I'm doing a little datamining project where a perl script grabs info from a SQL database and parses it. The data consists of several timestamps. I want to find how many of a particular type of timestamp exist on any particular day. Unfortunately, this is my first perl script, and the nature of perl when it comes to hashes and arrays is confusing me quite a bit. Code segment: my %values=();#A hash of the total values of each type of data of each day. #The key is the day, and each key stores an array of each of the values I need. my @proposal; #[drafted timestamp(0), submitted timestamp(1), attny approved timestamp(2),Organiziation approved timestamp(3), Other approval timestamp(4), Approved Timestamp(5)] while(@proposal=$sqlresults->fetchrow_array()){ #TODO: check to make sure proposal is valid #Increment the number of timestamps of each type on each particular date my $i; for($i=0;$i<=5;$i++) $values{$proposal[$i]}[$i]++; #Update rolling average of daily #TODO: To check total load, increment total load on all dates between attourney approve date and accepted date for($i=$proposal[1];$i<=$proposal[2];$i++) $values{$i}[6]++; } I keep getting syntax errors inside the for loops incrementing values. Also, considering that I'm using strict and warnings, will Perl auto-create arrays of the right values when I'm accessing them inside the hash, or will I get out-of bounds errors everywhere? Thanks for any help, Zach

  • Overlay only draws between first 2 points in Android

    - by LordSnoutimus
    Hi, I am experiencing an unusual error using ItemizedOverlay in Android. I am creating a GPS tracking device that plots a route between waypoints stored in a database. • Silently catch windows error popups when calling System.load() in java

    - by Marcelo Morales
    I have a Java Swing application, which needs to load some native libraries in windows. The problem is that the client could have different versions of those libraries. In one recent version, either the names changed or the order on which the libraries must be loaded changed. To keep up, we iterated over all possible library names but some fail to load (due to it's nonexistence or because another must be loaded previously). This idea works on older Windows but on latter ones it shows a error popup. I saw on question 4058303 (Silently catch windows error popups when calling LoadLibrary) that I need to call SetErrorMode but I am not sure how to call SetErrorMode from jna. I tried to follow the idea from question 11038595 but I am not sure how to proceed. public interface CKernel32 extends Kernel32 { CKernel32 INSTANCE = (CKernel32) Native.loadLibrary("kernel32", CKernel32.class); // TODO: HELP: HOW define the SetErrorMode function } How do I define (from the SetErrorMode documentation): UINT WINAPI SetErrorMode( _In_ UINT uMode ); in the line marked as TODO: HELP:? Thanks in advance

How to achieve this? //list_item.xml <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content"> <ImageView android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:src="@drawable/play" android:id="@+id/img" /> <TextView android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:gravity="center_vertical" android:id="@+id/txt" /> </LinearLayout> I have a Custom Adapter to populate my list. Code below is the adapter. public class MyCustomAdapter extends ArrayAdapter<String> { public MyCustomAdapter(Context context, int textViewResourceId, String[] objects) { super(context, textViewResourceId, objects); // TODO Auto-generated constructor stub } @Override public View getView(int position, View convertView, ViewGroup parent) { // TODO Auto-generated method stub LayoutInflater inflater=getLayoutInflater(); View row=inflater.inflate(R.layout.list_item, parent, false); TextView label=(TextView)row.findViewById(R.id.txt); label.setText(Sounds[position]); ImageView icon=(ImageView)row.findViewById(R.id.img); icon.setMaxHeight(32); icon.setMaxWidth(32); icon.setPadding(2, 1, 5, 1); icon.setImageResource(R.drawable.play); return row; } } And in onCreate I do the following @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); try { setListAdapter(new MyCustomAdapter(this, R.layout.list_item, Sounds)); //Sounds --> String array } catch(Exception e) { e.printStackTrace(); } } Now when any row is selected, I need to change the image associated with the selected view. Your help is appreciated. Thanks.

  • Trouble with C# array

    - by Biosci3c
    Hi, I am writing a card playing program as a way of learning C#. I ran into an issue with an array going out of bounds. Here is my code: namespace Pcardconsole { class Deck { public Deck() { // Assign standard deck to new deck object int j; for (int i = 0; i != CurrentDeck.Length; i++) { CurrentDeck[i] = originalCards[i]; } // Fisher-Yates Shuffling Algorithim Random rnd = new Random(); for (int k = CurrentDeck.Length - 1; k >= 0; k++) { int r = rnd.Next(0, k + 1); int tmp = CurrentDeck[k]; CurrentDeck[k] = CurrentDeck[r]; CurrentDeck[r] = tmp; // Console.WriteLine(i); } } public void Shuffle() { // TODO } // public int[] ReturnCards() // { // TODO // } public int[] originalCards = new int[54] { 0x11, 0x12, 0x13, 0x14, 0x15, 0x16, 0x17, 0x18, 0x19, 0x1A, 0x1B, 0x1C, 0x1D, 0x21, 0x22, 0x23, 0x24, 0x25, 0x26, 0x27, 0x28, 0x29, 0x2A, 0x2B, 0x2C, 0x2D, 0x31, 0x32, 0x33, 0x34, 0x35, 0x36, 0x37, 0x38, 0x39, 0x3A, 0x3B, 0x3C, 0x3D, 0x41, 0x42, 0x43, 0x44, 0x45, 0x46, 0x47, 0x48, 0x49, 0x4A, 0x4B, 0x4C, 0x4D, 0x50, 0x51 }; public int[] CurrentDeck = new int[54]; } class Program { static void Main(string[] args) { // Create a Deck object Deck mainDeck = new Deck(); Console.WriteLine("Here is the card array:"); for (int index = 0; index != mainDeck.CurrentDeck.Length; index++) { string card = mainDeck.CurrentDeck[index].ToString("x"); Console.WriteLine("0x" + card); } } } The hexidecimal numbers stand for different cards. When I compile it I get an array index out of bounds error, and a crash. I don't understand what is wrong. Any help would be much appreciated.

  • Does query plan optimizer works well with joined/filtered table-valued functions?

    - by smoothdeveloper
    In SQLSERVER 2005, I'm using table-valued function as a convenient way to perform arbitrary aggregation on subset data from large table (passing date range or such parameters). I'm using theses inside larger queries as joined computations and I'm wondering if the query plan optimizer work well with them in every condition or if I'm better to unnest such computation in my larger queries. Does query plan optimizer unnest table-valued functions if it make sense? If it doesn't, what do you recommend to avoid code duplication that would occur by manually unnesting them? If it does, how do you identify that from the execution plan? code sample: create table dbo.customers ( [key] uniqueidentifier , constraint pk_dbo_customers primary key ([key]) ) go /* assume large amount of data */ create table dbo.point_of_sales ( [key] uniqueidentifier , customer_key uniqueidentifier , constraint pk_dbo_point_of_sales primary key ([key]) ) go create table dbo.product_ranges ( [key] uniqueidentifier , constraint pk_dbo_product_ranges primary key ([key]) ) go create table dbo.products ( [key] uniqueidentifier , product_range_key uniqueidentifier , release_date datetime , constraint pk_dbo_products primary key ([key]) , constraint fk_dbo_products_product_range_key foreign key (product_range_key) references dbo.product_ranges ([key]) ) go . /* assume large amount of data */ create table dbo.sales_history ( [key] uniqueidentifier , product_key uniqueidentifier , point_of_sale_key uniqueidentifier , accounting_date datetime , amount money , quantity int , constraint pk_dbo_sales_history primary key ([key]) , constraint fk_dbo_sales_history_product_key foreign key (product_key) references dbo.products ([key]) , constraint fk_dbo_sales_history_point_of_sale_key foreign key (point_of_sale_key) references dbo.point_of_sales ([key]) ) go create function dbo.f_sales_history_..snip.._date_range ( @accountingdatelowerbound datetime, @accountingdateupperbound datetime ) returns table as return ( select pos.customer_key , sh.product_key , sum(sh.amount) amount , sum(sh.quantity) quantity from dbo.point_of_sales pos inner join dbo.sales_history sh on sh.point_of_sale_key = pos.[key] where sh.accounting_date between @accountingdatelowerbound and @accountingdateupperbound group by pos.customer_key , sh.product_key ) go -- TODO: insert some data -- this is a table containing a selection of product ranges declare @selectedproductranges table([key] uniqueidentifier) -- this is a table containing a selection of customers declare @selectedcustomers table([key] uniqueidentifier) declare @low datetime , @up datetime -- TODO: set top query parameters . select saleshistory.customer_key , saleshistory.product_key , saleshistory.amount , saleshistory.quantity from dbo.products p inner join @selectedproductranges productrangeselection on p.product_range_key = productrangeselection.[key] inner join @selectedcustomers customerselection on 1 = 1 inner join dbo.f_sales_history_..snip.._date_range(@low, @up) saleshistory on saleshistory.product_key = p.[key] and saleshistory.customer_key = customerselection.[key] I hope the sample makes sense. Much thanks for your help!

  • Trying to use Rhino, getEngineByName("JavaScript") returns null in OpenJDK 7

    - by Yuval
    When I run the following piece of code, the engine variable is set to null when I'm using OepnJDK 7 (java-7-openjdk-i386). import javax.script.ScriptEngine; import javax.script.ScriptEngineManager; import javax.script.ScriptException; public class TestRhino { /** * @param args */ public static void main(String[] args) { // TODO Auto-generated method stub ScriptEngineManager factory = new ScriptEngineManager(); ScriptEngine engine = factory.getEngineByName("JavaScript"); try { System.out.println(engine.eval("1+1")); } catch (ScriptException e) { // TODO Auto-generated catch block e.printStackTrace(); } } } It runs fine with java-6-openjdk and Oracle's jre1.7.0. Any idea why? I'm using Ubuntu 11.10. All JVMs are installed under /usr/lib/jvm. I noticed OpenJDK 7 has a different directory structure. Perhaps something is not installed right? $ locate rhino.jar /usr/lib/jvm/java-6-openjdk/jre/lib/rhino.jar /usr/lib/jvm/java-7-openjdk-common/jre/lib/rhino.jar /usr/lib/jvm/java-7-openjdk-i386/jre/lib/rhino.jar Edit Since ScriptEngineManager uses a ServiceProvider to find the available script engines, I snooped around resources.jar's META-INF/services. I noticed that in OpenJDK 6, resources.jar has a META-INF/services/javax.script.ScriptEngineFactory entry which is missing from OpenJDK 7. Any idea why? I suspect this is a bug? Here is the contents of that entry (from OpenJDK 6): #script engines supported com.sun.script.javascript.RhinoScriptEngineFactory #javascript Another edit Apparently, according to this thread, the code simply isn't there, perhaps because of merging issues between Sun and Mozilla code. I still don't understand why it was present in OpenJDK 6 and not 7. The class com.sun.script.javascript.RhinoScriptEngineFactory exists in 6's rt.jar but not in 7's. If it was not meant to be included, why is there a OpenJDK 7 rhino.jar then; and why is the source still in the OpenJDK source tree (here)?

  • SharePoint extensions for VS - which version have I got?

    - by Javaman59
    I'm using Visual Studio 2008, and have downloaded VSeWSS.exe 1.2, to enable Web Part development. I am new to SP development, and am already bewildered by the number of different versions of SP, and the VS add-ons. This particular problem has come up, which highlights my confusion. I selected Add - New Project - Visual C# - SharePoint- Web Part, accepted the defaults, and VS created a project, with the main file WebPart1.cs using System; using System.Runtime.InteropServices; using System.Web.UI; using System.Web.UI.WebControls; using System.Web.UI.WebControls.WebParts; using System.Xml.Serialization; using Microsoft.SharePoint; using Microsoft.SharePoint.WebControls; using Microsoft.SharePoint.WebPartPages; namespace WebPart1 { [Guid("9bd7e74c-280b-44d4-baa1-9271679657a0")] public class WebPart1 : System.Web.UI.WebControls.WebParts.WebPart { public WebPart1() { } protected override void CreateChildControls() // <-- This line { base.CreateChildControls(); // TODO: add custom rendering code here. // Label label = new Label(); // label.Text = "Hello World"; // this.Controls.Add(label); } } } The book I'm following, Essential SharePoint 2007, by Jeff Webb, has the following for the default project - using System; <...as previously> namespace WebPart1 { [Guid("9bd7e74c-280b-44d4-baa1-9271679657a0")] public class WebPart1 : System.Web.UI.WebControls.WebParts.WebPart { // ^ this is a new style (ASP.NET) web part! [author's comment] protected override void Render(HtmlTextWriter writer) // <-- This line { // This method draws the web part // TODO: add custom rendering code here. // Label label = new Label(); // writer.Write("Output HTML"); } } } The real reason for my concern is that in this chapter of the book the author frequently mentions the distinction between "old style" web parts, and "new style" web parts, as noted in his comment on the Render method. What's happened? Why has my default Web Part got a different signature to the authors?
