• Thread Proc for an instancable class?

  Basically I have a class and it is instincable (not static). Basically I want the class to be able to generate its own threads and manage its own stuff. I don't want to make a global callback for each instance I make, this doesnt seem clean and proper to me. What is the proper way of doing what I want. If I try to pass the threadproc to CreateThread and it is the proc from a class instance the compiler says I cannot do this. What is the best way of achieving what I want? Thanks

  I am just starting out with PHP, and I am wondering if there is a way to add an anonymous function to a class instance. For instance, lets say... class A{ public B; } $c = new A(); //This is where I am getting a little confused... //The following wont work $c->B = function(){echo('HelloWorld');}; $c->B(); What I am hoping to do is reuse the same spit of code in a great number of different applications, and make it so that I can just 'swap-out' and replace functions in specific instances. • Template class giving linker error ...

  Hi, I am having a template class which is exposed, in which I added a method. This class is in namespace A. Now, I am calling this method in another namespace (say B). Initially, compiler gave me linker error saying "unresolved external symbol" for this particular method. However, if I call this method inside the same namespace (that is A), it links well. After that, it links well in namespace B as well. Why could this be happening ? Does this has something to do with the creating Template object of my class ? Atul

  I want to setup a click event trigger in jQuery for certain anchor tags. I want to open certain links in a new tab while ignoring ones with a certain class (before you ask I cannot put classes on the links I am trying to catch as they come from a CMS). I want to exclude links with class "button" OR "generic_link" I have tried $(".content_box a[class!=button]").click(function (e) { e.preventDefault(); window.open($(this).attr('href')); }); But that doesn't seem to work, also how do I do an OR statement to include "generic_link" in the exclusion?   I am currently building a custom Membership Provider for my Asp.net MVC website. I have an existing database with a Users table and I'm using Linq-to-Sql to automatically generates this class for me. What I would like to do is have this generated User class inherit from the MembershipUser class so I can more easily use it in my custom Membership Provider in methods such as GetUser. I already have all the necessary columns in the table. Is there any way to do this? Or am I going about this the completely wrong way? Thanks!

However, I need to take into account what the time is right now. For Example: Now it is 1:00 PM Time1=5:00 AM Time 2 = 12:00 PM Time 3= 4:00 PM Time 4 = 6:00 PM So since the time is 1:00PM, I need to find the difference between Time 2 and Time 3 Now is there a smarter way other than reflection to determine this?   Hi, Every the example I find on the internet (including Apple doc) sets the target to self like this : [NSThread detachNewThreadSelector:@selector(threadedTask) toTarget:self withObject:nil]; Since i would like to do a more complex task in background (involving multiple methods), I thought of creating a class Task called like this : Task *task = [[Task alloc] init]; [NSThread detachNewThreadSelector:@selector(main) toTarget:task withObject:nil]; but I wonder, how will be handled the instance variables of my class Task ? in my method main can I safely call methods of my class Task using [self myMethod] and modifying members variables assuming I'm the only thread accessing it ?   I'll explain with pictures from Eclipse Debugger I have an Class called "FieldContext", (I can't edit it, it's compiled in the Java OVal API) Within "FieldContext" on the eclipse variable tab are "CompileTimeType" and "field" Q1 Is there a legend for the icons in the variables tab? like what the red box with the "F" means + yellow diamond boxes? Now I want to access the fields inside the "field" object (RedBox) .. preferably "name" But the "FieldContext" does not have a "getField()" method, yet it has a "getCompileTimeType()" method. Q2 So is there anyway to get that field object being a "SerializableField" Class from the "FieldContext"? If eclipse debugger can see/get/edit them then I hope I can do the same in Java.

• Java singleton VO class implementing serializable, having default values using getter methods

  Hi All I have a J2SE application having user threads running in a separate JVM outside JBOSS server. During startup, J2SE invokes a EJB inside jboss, by passing a new object(singleton) of simple JAVA VO class having getter/setter methods. {The VO class is a singleton and implements serialiable(as mandated by EJB)}. EJB receives the object, reads all db configuration and uses the setter methods of new object to set all the values. It then returns back this updated object back to J2SE in the same remote call. After J2SE receives the object(singleton/serializable), if i invoke getter methods, I could see only default values set during object creation before EJB call, and not the values set by the EJB. Kindly throw some light on, why the received object from EJB does not see any updated values and how to rectify this. I believe it got to do with object initialization during deserialization. And i tried overriding readResolve() in the VO class, but of no help. With Regards, Krishna

  Hello, Simple lua game with simple class like so: creature = class({ name = "MONSTER BADDY!", stats = { power = 10, agility = 10, endurance = 10, filters = {} }, other_things = ... }) creatureA = creature.new() creatureB = creature.new() creatureA.name = "Frank" creatureB.name = "Zappa" creatureA.stats.agility = 20 creatureB.stats.power = 12 -- blah blah blah Non table values are individual to each instance, but table values are shared among all instances and if I modify a stats.X value in one instance, all other instances see the same stats table. Q1: Is my OO implementation flawed? I tried LOOP and the same result occured, is there a fundamental flaw in my logic? Q2: How would you have each instance of creature have it's own stats table (and sub tables)? PS. I cannot flatten my class table as it's a bit more complicated than the example and other parts of the code are simplified with this nested table implementation. Thanks a bunch.

• Question regarding checking the state of a checkbox class

  I'll try and make this question simple. Can I assign a class to a series of different checkboxes, and use Jquery to do something when any one of those checkboxes is checked? Searching around on the internet I have found documentation on grabbing the name: $('input[name=foo]').is(':checked') but when I swap out the name attribute for the class attr, it won't work! How can I set an event to occur if any of the checkboxes with this certain class is checked? Please help me out! Thanks
