  Hi, i took a msk code from dsplog.com and tried to modify it to test the ieee 802.15.4. There are several links on that site for ieee 802.15.4. Currently I am getting simulated ber results all approximately same for all the cases of Eb_No values. • Delphi 6 OleServer.pas Invoke memory leak

  There's a bug in delphi 6 which you can find some reference online for when you import a tlb the order of the parameters in an event invocation is reversed. It is reversed once in the imported header and once in TServerEventDIspatch.Invoke. you can find more information about it here: http://cc.embarcadero.com/Item/16496 somewhat related to this issue there appears to be a memory leak in TServerEventDispatch.Invoke with a parameter of a Variant of type Var_Array (maybe others, but this is the more obvious one i could see). The invoke code copies the args into a VarArray to be passed to the event handler and then copies the VarArray back to the args after the call, relevant code pasted below: // Set our array to appropriate length SetLength(VarArray, ParamCount); // Copy over data for I := Low(VarArray) to High(VarArray) do VarArray[I] := OleVariant(TDispParams(Params).rgvarg^[I]); // Invoke Server proxy class if FServer <> nil then FServer.InvokeEvent(DispID, VarArray); // Copy data back for I := Low(VarArray) to High(VarArray) do OleVariant(TDispParams(Params).rgvarg^[I]) := VarArray[I]; // Clean array SetLength(VarArray, 0); There are some obvious work-arounds in my case: if i skip the copying back in case of a VarArray parameter it fixes the leak. to not change the functionality i thought i should copy the data in the array instead of the variant back to the params but that can get complicated since it can hold other variants and seems to me that would need to be done recursively. Since a change in OleServer will have a ripple effect i want to make sure my change here is strictly correct. can anyone shed some light on exactly why memory is being leaked here? I can't seem to look up the callstack any lower than TServerEventDIspatch.Invoke (why is that?) I imagine that in the process of copying the Variant holding the VarArray back to the param list it added a reference to the array thus not allowing it to be release as normal but that's just a rough guess and i can't track down the code to back it up. Maybe someone with a better understanding of all this could shed some light?

• Trying to write a loop that uses an OutputStream to write to a text file.

  I'm not a java programmer, I'm a VB programmer. I am doing this as part of an assignment, however, I'm not asking for help on something assignment related. I'd like to figure out how to get the OutputStreamWriter to work properly in this instance. I just want to capture the values I'm generating and place them into a text document. The file is generated, but only one entry exists, not the 40 I'm expecting. I could do this in a heartbeat with VB, but java feels very strange to me right now. Your help is appreciated. Its ok, i understand the error. But how can i fix it? How can i fix my class to make it work with my desired syntax that?

  I have a simple application to store address details and edit them. I have been away from VB for a few years now and need to refreash my knowledge while working to a tight deadline. I have a general Sub responsible for displaying a form where user can add contact details (by pressing button add) and edit them (by pressing button edit). This sub is stored in a class Contact. The way it is supposed to work is that there is a list with all the contacts and when new contact is added a new entry is displayed. If user wants to edit given entry he or she selects it and presses edit button Public Sub Display() Dim C As New Contact C.Cont = InputBox("Enter a title for this contact.") C.Fname = frmAddCont.txtFName.Text C.Surname = frmAddCont.txtSName.Text C.Address = frmAddCont.txtAddress.Text frmStart.lstContact.Items.Add(C.Cont.ToString) End Sub I call it from the form responsible for adding new contacts by Dim C As New Contact C.Display() and it works just fine. However when I try to do something similar using the edit button I get errors - "Unable to cast object of type 'System.String' to type 'AddressBook.Contact'." Dim C As Contact If lstContact.SelectedItem IsNot Nothing Then C = lstContact.SelectedItem() C.Display() End If I think it may be something simple however I wasn't able to fix it and given short time I have I decided to ask for help here.   As far as I know in unix it's a good practice to always have blank line at the end of file - or to put it in other words: every line should end with \n. While checking my python code with PEP8 I noticed that it also states that there should be \n at end of file: W292 no newline at end of file JCR: The last line should have a newline. What's strange, it conflicts with W391: W391 blank line at end of file JCR: Trailing blank lines are superfluous. Okay: spam(1) W391: spam(1)\n How it should be? Should I have blank line at the end of file or not?

• Problem with Executing Mysql stored procedure

  The stored procedure builds without any problem. The purpose of this is to take backup of selected tables to a script file. when the SP returns a value {Insert statements}. I am using the below MySql stored procedure, created by SQLWAYS [Tool to convert MsSql to MySql]. The actual MsSql SP is from http://www.codeproject.com/KB/database/InsertGeneratorPack.aspx When i execute the SP in MySql Query Browser, It says "Unknown column 'tbl_users' in 'field list'" What would be the problem ?   I have a UIWebView and a UITextField for the url. Naturally, I want the textField to always show the current document url. This works fine for urls directly input in the field, but I also have some buttons attached to the view for reload, back, and forward. So I've added all the UIWebViewDelegate methods to my controller, so it can listen to whenever the webView navigates and change the url in the textField as needed. Here's how I'm using the shouldStartLoadWithRequest: method: - (BOOL)webView:(UIWebView *)webView shouldStartLoadWithRequest:(NSURLRequest *)request navigationType:(UIWebViewNavigationType)navigationType { NSLog(@"navigated via %d", navigationType); //loads the user cares about if ( navigationType == UIWebViewNavigationTypeLinkClicked || navigationType == UIWebViewNavigationTypeBackForward ) { //URL setting [self setUrlQuietly:request.URL]; } return YES; } Now, my problem here is that an actual click will generate a single navigation of type "LinkClicked" followed by a dozen type "Other" (redirects and ad loads I assume), which gets handled correctly by the code, but a back/forward action will generate all its requests as back/forward requests. In other words, a click calls setUrlQuietly: once, but a back/forward calls it multiple times. I am trying to use this method to determine if the user actually initiated the action (and I'd like to catch page redirects too). But if the method has no way of distinguishing between an actual "back" and a "load initiated as a result of a back", how can I make this assessment? Without this, I am completely stumped as to how I can only show the actual url and not intermediate urls. Thank you!
