  • Python regular expressions assigning to named groups

    - by None
    When you use variables (is that the correct word?) in python regular expressions like this: "blah (?P\w+)" ("value" would be the variable), how could you make the variable's value be the text after "blah " to the end of the line or to a certain character not paying any attention to the actual content of the variable. For example, this is pseudo-code for what I want: >>> import re >>> p = re.compile("say (?P<value>continue_until_text_after_assignment_is_recognized) endsay") >>> m = p.match("say Hello hi yo endsay") >>> m.group('value') 'Hello hi yo' Note: The title is probably not understandable. That is because I didn't know how to say it. Sorry if I caused any confusion.

  • Online chart editor

    - by Alexander Gladysh
    I love to use Google Documents as MS Word and MS Excel replacements for online collaboration. However, now I need to discuss architecture layout for my software. Nothing too fancy, perhaps a little (pseudo-)UML, but mostly basic shapes (rectangles, ellipses etc.) with labels, connected by thin lines or arrows. In olden Windows times I'd go for Visio, and be happy. But now I want to use online tool. Preferably free. No need for code reverse engineering etc., just plain assisted vector drawing. Any advice? What do you use?

  • Prototype mouseleave for two elements

    - by TenJack
    I have created a small navigation element that is positioned right on top of another element. It is only shown when a user mousenters/mouseovers the main element. I am having some trouble with the prototype. I would like this small nav element to be hidden when a user mouses out of the main box, but I would also like the small nav element to remain visible if a user mouses out of the main box but mouses into the small nav at the same time. This is my attempt so far with some pseudo-code to hopefully explain: $('main_box').observe('mouseenter', function(){ $('small_div').show() }) $('main_box').observe('mouseleave', function(){ if this element is $('small_div') then Event.stop() $('small_div').observe('mouseleave', function(){ if this element is $('main_box') Event.stop observe $('main_box') mouseleave else $('small_div').hide(); }) else $('small_div').hide(); }) The main thing I'm having trouble with is figuring out what element the mouse is over at a given point in time. Is there a way to do something like: on mouseleave do blah unless the mouse is over a specific element then do not do blah?

  • Get HTML DOM with CSS

    - by 2x2p1p
    CSS can apply styles in elements through one ID, class or pseudo-selector, but I would like to get the HTML tree, something like in javascript: <script type = "text/javascript"> window.onload = function () { var div = document.getElementsByTagName ("div"); div[0].style.backgroundColor = "gray"; div[0].style.padding = "20px"; } </script> So for example: <style type = "text/css"> div[0] { /* Wrong but i tried :( */ background-color: gray; padding: 20px; } </style> <div > <div>...</div> </div> I'm tired of assign IDs to millions and millions of elements; is there a way to do this?

  • MySQL/SQL: Update with correlated subquery from the updated table itself

    - by Roee Adler
    I have a generic question that I will try to explain using an example. Say I have a table with the fields: "id", "name", "category", "appearances" and "ratio" The idea is that I have several items, each related to a single category and "appears" several times. The ratio field should include the percentage of each item's appearances out of the total number of appearances of items in the category. In pseudo-code what I need is the following: For each category find the total sum of appearances for items related to it. For example it can be done with (select sum("appearances") from table group by category) For each item set the ratio value as the item's appearances divided by the sum found for the category above Now I'm trying to achieve this with a single update query, but can't seem to do it. What I thought I should do is: update Table T set T.ratio = T.appearances / ( select sum(S.appearances) from Table S where S.id = T.id ) But MySQL does not accept the alias T in the update column, and I did not find other ways of achieving this. Any ideas?

  • Algorithm to split an array into N groups based on item index (should be something simple)

    - by serg
    I feel that it should be something very simple and obvious but just stuck on this for the last half an hour and can't move on. All I need is to split an array of elements into N groups based on element index. For example we have an array of 30 elements [e1,e2,...e30], that has to be divided into N=3 groups like this: group1: [e1, ..., e10] group2: [e11, ..., e20] group3: [e21, ..., e30] I came up with nasty mess like this for N=3 (pseudo language, I left multiplication on 0 and 1 just for clarification): for(i=0;i<array_size;i++) { if(i>=0*(array_size/3) && i<1*(array_size/3) { print "group1"; } else if(i>=1*(array_size/3) && i<2*(array_size/3) { print "group2"; } else if(i>=2*(array_size/3) && i<3*(array_size/3) print "group3"; } } But what would be the proper general solution? Thanks.

  • In an Android TextView, is it possible to insert paragraphs?

    - by johnrock
    Below is an example of the type of problem that I have. I have data in a pojo that I need to display in a textview... the data has pseudo code that denotes each paragraph with [p] I would like to somehow parse the [p]'s into paragraphs when they are displayed in the textview. Can this be done? Is there something I can substitute for the [p] that will make a new paragraph in the textview? Question question = new Question(); question.setText("Here is the first paragraph.[p] And this should be the second."); TextView view = (TextView) findViewById(R.id.qtext); view.setText(question.getParsedText());

  • Basic date/time manipulation in NHiberate query

    - by Yann Trevin
    I'm trying to restrict my NHibernate query with some basic date/time manipulation. More specifically, I want to execute the following statement (pseudo-SQL): select * from article where created_on + lifespan >= sysdate with: created_on is mapped to a property of type DateTime. lifespan is mapped to a property of type TimeSpan. sysdate is the current date/time (of the database server or ofthe application host, I don't care) Is there any built-in way to do that by using the Criteria-API or HQL? return session .CreateCriteria<Article>() .Add( ? ) .List<Article>();

    - by austin powers
    Hi, here is the problem : there is classic asp app which is calling lame.exe for encoding mp3s for lots of time per day and there is no control of the way of calling lame.exe from several users in another word there is no queue for that purpose. so here is what I am thinking about : //below code all are pseudo-code //process_flag and mp3 and processId all are reside in a database function addQ(string mp3) add a record to database and set process_flag to undone then goto checkQ end function function checkQ() if there is a process in queue list sort in by processID asc for each processID processQ(processID) end for end function function ProcessQ(int processID) run lame.exe with the help of wscript.exe after doing the job set the process_flag to done end function so I just want to know is there any better solution? or any other approaches out there? regards.

  • How to generate a random alpha-numeric string in Java

    - by Todd
    I've been looking for a simple java algorithm to generate a pseudo-random alpha-numeric string. In my situation it would be used as a unique session/key identifier that would "likely" be unique over 500K+ generation (my needs don't really require anything much more sophisticated) . Ideally I would be able to specify a length depending on my uniqueness needs. For example, a generated string of length 12 might look something like "AEYGF7K0DM1X". Answers: I like @Apocalisp and @erickson's answers equally well. The only downside to @Apocalisp's answer is it requires an apache class. Thanks to both for the help!

  • Help writing emacs lisp for emacs etags search

    - by user535707
    I'm looking for some help developing what I think should be an easy program. I want something similar to Emacs tags-search command, but I want to collect all search results into a buffer. (I want to see all results of M-,) I'm thinking this python style pseudo code should work, but I have no idea how to do this in emacs lisp? Any help would be greatly appreciated. def myTagsGrep(searchValue): for aFile in the tag list: result = grep aFile seachValue if len(result) > 0: print aFile # to the buffer print result # to the buffer I would like to be able to browse through the buffer with the same features tags-apropos does. Note that a similar question has been asked before: Is there a way to get emacs tag-search command to output all results to a buffer?

  • NHibernate How to specify custom sql type only in production

    - by Davide Orazio Montersino
    I am saving binary files into a Sql Server 2005 Db using Fluent NHibernate. However, I am using SQLite to run my (pseudo) Unit Tests. I need to use a custom Sql type for Ms Sql, but it would throw an error on SqlLite. What strategies can I use? This is the Map file: public class BinaryFile { public BinaryFile() { m.Map(x => x.BinaryData);//.CustomSqlType("varbinary(MAX)"); m.Map(x => x.ContentType); m.Map(x => x.FileName); m.Map(x => x.FileSize); } }

  • Naming suggestions for a function returning parent prototype

    - by hevalbaranov
    I'm having a naming trouble with a function which returns parent prototype of specified object. It's being used like this: # Pseudo Code MyClass { super(MyClass,this).constructor.call(.... The problem is that I want to use a word which is as superior as "super", but "super" is reserved even it's undefined. Now I'm using "parent", but the window object has a property named parent. I hate Javascript. What should I name this function? Names have to start with lowercase and have to be short.

  • Using a RegEx in a SQL Query

    - by Jim B
    Hey Everyone, Here's the situation I'm in: We have a field in our database that contains a 3 digit number, surrounded by some text. This number is actually a PK in another table, and I need to extract this out so I can implement a proper FK relationship. Here's an example of what would currently reside in the column: Some Text Goes Here - (305) Followed By Some More Text So, what I'm looking to do is extract the '305' from the column, and hopefully end up with a result that looks something like this (pseudo code) SELECT <My Extracted Value>, Original Column Text, Id FROM dbo.MyTable It seems to me that using a Regex match in my query is the most effective way to do this. Can anybody point me in the right direction?

  • How to verify a digital signature with openssl

    - by Aaron Carlino
    I'm using a thirdparty credit card processing service (Paybox) that, after a successful transaction, redirects back to the website with a signature in the URL as a security measure to prevent people from manipulating data. It's supposed to prove that the request originated from this service. So my success URL looks something like this: /success.php?signature=[HUGE HASH] I have no idea where to start with verifying this signature. This service does provide a public key, and I assume I need to create a private key, but I don't know much beyond that. I'm pretty good with linux, and I know I'll have to run some openssl commands. I'm writing the verification script in PHP, which also has native openssl() functions. If anyone could please push me in the right direction with some pseudo code, or even functional code, I'd be very grateful. Thanks.

  • C functions invoked as threads - Linux userland program

    - by Einar
    I'm writing a linux daemon in C which gets values from an ADC by SPI interface (ioctl). The SPI (spidev - userland) seems to be a bit unstable and freezes the daemon at random times. I need to have some better control of the calls to the functions getting the values, and I was thinking of making it as a thread which I could wait for to finish and get the return value and if it times out assume that it froze and kill it without this new thread taking down the daemon itself. Also I could do other things like resetting the ADC before restarting. Is this possible? Pseudo example of what I want to achieve: (function int get_adc_value(int adc_channel, float *value) ) pid = thread( get_adc_value(1,&value); //makes thread wait_until_finish(pid, timeout); //waits until function finishes/timesout if(timeout) kill pid, start over //if thread do not return in given time, kill it (it is frozen) else if return value sane, continue //if successful, handle return variable value and continue Thanks for any input on the matter, examples highly appreciated!

  • after_create :create a new line in DB

    - by Karl Entwistle
    Hey guys I was wondering if anyone could help me with an issue im having, basically id like to have Account.create after a PayPal notification is received, There is a simple cart model which corresponds to line_items within the cart so add_account_to_market would look like this in pseudo code def add_account_to_market if status == "Completed" find the line items(via cart_id) that correspond to the cart.id that just been paid create an account with user_id set to the current carts user id end end Ive never tried to do something like this in Rails and its not working, Ive been pulling my hair out all night trying to fix this, hopefully someone can help or point me in the right direction. Thanks :) class PaymentNotification < ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :cart serialize :params after_create :mark_cart_as_purchased after_create :add_account_to_market private def mark_cart_as_purchased if status == "Completed" cart.update_attribute(:purchased_at, Time.now) cart.update_attribute(:paid, true) end end def add_account_to_market if status == "Completed" l = LineItem.find(:all, :conditions => "cart_id = '#{cart.id}'") for l.quantity Account.new(:user_id => cart.user_id) end end end end PS mark_cart_as_purchased method is working fine, its just the add_account_to_market im having issues with.

  • nth-child doesn't respond to class

    - by Arne Stephensson
    Is it possible to get the nth-child pseudo-selector to work with a specific class? See this example: http://jsfiddle.net/fZGvH/ I want to have the second DIV.red turn red, but it doesn't apply the color as expected. Not only that, but when you specify this, it changes the 5th DIV to red: div.red:nth-child(6) When you specify this, it changes the 8th DIV to red: div.red:nth-child(9) It seems to be one DIV behind. There are only 8 DIV tags in the example so I don't know why nth-child(9) even works. Testing using Firefox 3.6, but in my actual production code the same problem occurs in Chrome. I'm not understanding something about how this is supposed to work, would appreciate clarification. Also, this will change the 6th DIV to red, but what I actually want is for it to change the second DIV.red to red: div.red:nth-of-type(6) And I don't understand why nth-child() and nth-of-type() respond differently, since there are only eight tags of the same type in the document.

  • ASP.NET Build Images Links Dynamically

    - by coson
    Good Day, I am developing a website that has product images on an external server. I have code that tests to see if the image exists like (pseudo code): DynamicString = FunctionThatCreatesDynamicString() ' DynamicString = "http://external_server/path/to/file1.jpg" If ImageExists(DyanmicString) = StatusCode.200 Then ' Embed link in ASP.NET page Else ' Embed not found image in ASP.NET page End If My code builds fine and appears to execute. The problem occurs when I attempt to view the external link in a browser, the image appears properly (I have to authenticate first, but that's OK considering I'm on an internal network and this app will be used internally). However, when I attempt the view the source in my generated HTML page, I am seeing the image to the "Not Found" image when I know the image is there. I compared all the characters in my dynamically assembled to the external link and all the characters are matching up correctly. I'm wondering if the authentication has anything to do with why the image is not rendering properly on my rendered HTML. Any thoughts? TIA, coson

  • Implement a WebDAV server in C#?

    - by HaukurHaf
    We've got a CMS system written in .NET C#. This system has editing facilities for templates (essentially HTML files) and various other support files such as CSS and javascript files. These "files" are not really files, but database records and they are edited using plain old textareas within the CMS system. To make editing these "files" easier, on idea was to implement WebDAV support in the CMS system for these files, so users could use some WebDAV client software to connect to the CMS and then open these in VS 2008 for example. Firstly, is this a feasible idea? Secondly, if so ... where do start? Any good articles out there about implementing a WebDAV server in C# to provide access to either physical documents or "pseudo" documents which are in reality just records in a database? Any input appreciated ....

  • Reuse select query in a procedure in Oracle

    - by Jer
    How would I store the result of a select statement so I can reuse the results with an in clause for other queries? Here's some pseudo code: declare ids <type?>; begin ids := select id from table_with_ids; select * from table1 where id in (ids); select * from table2 where id in (ids); end; ... or will the optimizer do this for me if I simply put the sub-query in both select statements?

  • Property in class is IEnumerable<TDto> get TDto.A == a

    - by Miau
    So I have a class is something like this public class Order { //some other stuff ... //setting the internal _orderItems collection ... IEnumerable<OrderItems> OrderItems { get { return _orderItems; } } public class OrderItem { //other stuff public string ProductName {get; set;} } If I have a collection of orders of some sort and have access via linq to the order, something like myOrderRespository.Where(x=>x.OrderItems) Then I only have access to getEnumerator there, waht I would like it to be able to do something like myOrderRespository.Where(x=>x.OrderItems.ProductName == "Blah") Is this possible? this is a made up scenario and its pseudo code I m trying to simplify the problem so its easy to explain ( so please forgive me if there are a few errors) Cheers

  • How to Track Number of Changes Occured in a Column? T-SQL - SQL Server

    - by user327387
    For example, i have a column named EmployeeName. Every time a user changes/fix his name, i need to keep a count. If he changes his name twice, then count is 2. Also, i need to store the time of every change employee makes on EmployeeName e.g. if the name essentially is James and time created is 9:00 AM and then employee changes to John on 11:00 AM, i need to preserve this new time and new value as well as the previous one which is James at 9:00 AM. I hope its clear! Thank you guys...Best Answer will be chosen... If this requires a trigger, giving a sketchy pseudo-code will be very much appreciated.

  • Should Factories Persist Entities?

    - by mxmissile
    Should factories persist entities they build? Or is that the job of the caller? Pseudo Example Incoming: public class OrderFactory { public Order Build() { var order = new Order(); .... return order; } } public class OrderController : Controller { public OrderController(IRepository repository) { this.repository = repository; } public ActionResult MyAction() { var order = factory.Build(); repository.Insert(order); ... } } or public class OrderFactory { public OrderFactory(IRepository repository) { this.repository = repository; } public Order Build() { var order = new Order(); ... repository.Insert(order); return order; } } public class OrderController : Controller { public ActionResult MyAction() { var order = factory.Build(); ... } } Is there a recommended practice here?

  • performing a javascript event without triggering that event handler

    - by bento
    In my latest code, I have an event handler for a focus on a textarea. When the user clicks on the textarea, that event-handler is triggered which sets some other DOM states based on the selected textarea. However, elsewhere in my program I want to programmatically set the focus of the textarea without triggering that event handler. I know Backbone, for instance, has a way to silently perform an action. My only pseudo-solution is to temporarily set a variable: var silence = true; And then, in my event handler, only perform the logic if silence is false. The handler is still triggered, but the logic doesn't run. Does anyone else know of better strategies for this?
