If it's matched then i need to extract the first $abc and the last #xyz, all that using pure javascript and maybe regex.     Hi, all. I'm trying to convert an all-uppercase string in Ruby into a lower case one, but with each word's first character being upper case. Example: convert "MY STRING HERE" to "My String Here". I know I can use the .downcase method, but that would make everything lower case ("my string here"). I'm scanning all lines in a file and doing this change, so is there a regular expression I can use through ruby to achieve this? Thanks!

  • C++ class is not recognizing string data type

    I'm working on a program from my C++ textbook, and this this the first time I've really run into trouble. I just can't seem to see what is wrong here. Visual Studio is telling me Error: identifier "string" is undefined. I separated the program into three files. A header file for the class specification, a .cpp file for the class implementation and the main program file. These are the instructions from my book: Write a class named Car that has the following member variables: year. An int that holds the car's model year. make. A string that holds the make of the car. speed. An int that holds the car's current speed. In addition, the class should have the following member functions. Constructor. The constructor should accept the car's year and make as arguments and assign these values to the object's year and make member variables. The constructor should initialize the speed member variable to 0. Accessors. Appropriate accessor functions should be created to allow values to be retrieved from an object's year, make and speed member variables. There are more instructions, but they are not necessary to get this part to work. However, for some reason, the code I've written isn't working, and both entries in my database, one from 1 hour ago, one from 2 days ago, show up. Is there something wrong with my equation?   • C# Modify Connection String that exists inside a library

    I have a Class Library, which inside just has a DataSet (MySQL connector) and a Connector class. I use this class in multiple projects to connect to the database, and I always had the password embedded in the connection string but now I need to be able to modify this string(for security purposes) so I can have the user connect using their own account. How can I modify this connection string. I have tried the following Properties.Settings.Default.DataBaseConnectionString = "String"; But it seems that the connection string is readonly becase it doesn't appear to have a setter value. I also tried the following with no luck Properties.Settings.Default.DatabaseConnectionString.Insert( Properties.Settings.Default.DatabaseConnectionConnectionString.Length - 1, "Password=dbpassword;");

  • SqlDateTime overflow on INSERT when date is correct using a Linq to SQL DataContext

    Dear Linq experts, I get an SqlDateTime overflow error (Must be between 1/1/1753 12:00:00 AM and 12/31/9999 11:59:59 PM.) when doing an INSERT using an Linq DataContext connected to SQL Server database when I do the SubmitChanges(). When I use the debugger the date value is correct. Even if I temporary update the code to set the date value to DateTime.Now it will not do the insert. Did anybody found a work-around for this behaviour? Maybe there is a way to check what SQL the datacontext submits to the database.

  • Time and date dimension in data warehouse

    I'm buildind an data warehouse. Each fact has it's timestamp. I need to create reports by day, month, quater but by hours too. Loking at the examples I see that dates tend to be saved in dimension tabels. But I think, that it makes no sense for time. The dimension table would grow and grow. On the other hand JOIN with date dimension table is more efficent than using date/time functions in SQL. What are your opinions/solutions ? (I'm using Infobright)

  • HTML encode UTF-8 string gets mangled into latin1

    I'm parsing my nginx logs, and I want to discover some details from the HTTP_REFERER string, for example, the query string used to find the web site. One user typed in "México" which gets encoded in the log as "query=M%E9xico". Passing this through Rack::Utils.parse_query('query=M%E9xico') you get a hash, {"query" = "M?xico"} When you to stuff "M?exico" into Postgres (but not the more forgiving SQLite), it pukes because the string isn't proper UTF-8. Looking at http://rack.rubyforge.org/doc/Rack/Utils.html#M000324, unescape is packing a hex string. How can I convert the string back to UTF-8, or can I get parse_query to return UTF-8 in the first place.

  • Avoid implicit conversion from date to timestamp for selects with Oracle 11g using Hibernate

    I'm using Hibernate 3.2.1 criteria queries to select rows from an Oracle 11g database, filtering by a timestamp field. The field in question is of type java.util.Date in Java, and DATE in Oracle. It turns out that the field gets mapped to java.sql.Timestamp, and Oracle converts all rows to TIMESTAMP before comparing to the passed in value, bypassing the index and thereby ruining performance. One solution would be to use Hibernate's sqlRestriction() along with Oracle's TO_DATE function. That would fix performance, but requires rewriting the application code (lots of queries). So is there a more elegant solution? Since Hibernate already does type mapping, could it be configured to do the right thing?

    Redis keys are binary safe. I'd like to mess around and put binary into redis using C#. My client of choice doesn't support writing binary keys it uses keys and it make sense. However i am just fooling around so tell me how i can do this. How do i convert a raw byte[] into a string? At first i was thinking about converting a byte[] to a utf8 string however unicode has some checks to see if its valid or not. So raw binary should fail. Actually i tried it out. Instead of failing i got a strange result. My main question is how do i convert a raw byte[] to the equivalent string? Everything is great, but I really don't understand how to set in JSON Marshalling and Unmarshalling converting option for dates and numbers. I have a User class: @XmlRootElement public class User { private String username; private String password; private java.util.Date createdOn; // ... getters and setters } When createdOn property is serialized, a string like this: '2010-05-12T00:00:00+02:00', but I need to choose date Pattern both, to marshall and unmarshall.
