PHP function to handle most database queries has a problem with results. I am getting the right numb

Here is my little function. It does not handle the results correctly. I do get all the rows that I want, but all the rows of the $results array contain the exact same values. So i make 2 arrays, a temporary array to hold the values after each fetch, and another array to hold all the temporary arrays. First i take the temp array and map its keys to the column names. Then i give it to bind_result, and call fetch() and use it like I would any other result value. Why does this sql statement keep saying it is a boolean and not a parameter? (php/Mysql)

In this statement, I am trying to see if there if the latest posting in the database that has the exact same title, price, city, state, detail. If there is, then it would say to the user that the exact post has been already made; if not then insert the posting into the dbc. (This is one type of check so that users can't accidentally post twice. This may not be the best check, but this statement error is annoying me, so I want it to work :)) Why won't this sql work? I think it's not letting the title=$title and not getting the value in the $title... Ajax Code to run PHP query After Facebook Like Button is Clicked

I have the PHP below on a file called fblike.php. On another file, I have the Facebook Like button. The Like button functions. I would like to run the code below when the Facebook Like button is clicked. I know that FB.Event.subscribe('edge.create', function(response) {} is supposed to run whenever the Like button is clicked. I know that I am probably supposed to use Javascript and maybe Ajax to cause the PHP on fblike.php to run. But after multiple tries, I can't get it to work. What is the specific Ajax code that I could include within the Facebook Event? serializeArray doesn't include submit-button value

Hi, I got two submit buttons in a form. One that deletes the post, and one to edit it. I want to display a fancybox with either the edit-form or a message saying that the user deleted the post. It's all decided by which button was pushed, with a "if(isset)"-sentence in edit.php. However I can't figure out how to get the value of the button within the serializeArray.. Is there a way to add in line breaks at least for this or display the var_dump in a way that's more readable? I'm open to jQuery suggestions on manipulating the string after it's posted.

Parallel MySQL queries for HTML table - WHILE(x or y)?

I'm trying to create a table using PHP. What I need is a table with two columns. So I have an SQL table with 4 fields - primary key id, language, word and definition. The language for each is either Arabic or Russian. I want a table that does the following: | defintion | |____________________| | | | rus1 | arab1 | | rus2 | arab2 | | rus3 | arab3 | | rus4 | | So it divides the list by English word, creates a for each English word, then lists Russian equivalents in the left column and Arabic in the right. However there are often not the same number for both. What I am doing right now is running a WHILE loop in a WHILE loop. The outer loop is running fine but I think I am doing the inner loop wrong. Improperly called Javascript function (parameter issue)

I am trying to echo some HTML using PHP in a div. Everything was working until I tried to pass a parameter to the onclick=\"loadpuzzle()\" function. It ran fine when I tried onclick=\"loadpuzzle(4)\" and the function took the parameter and executed normally, but what I need is to pass the value from $row['puzzlename'] as the parameter, which I assume is a string (and so I enclosed it in quotation marks). echo "<td><input id=\"".$row['puzzlename']."\" type=\"radio\" name=\"puzzle-set\" class=\"puzzle_selector\" onclick=\"loadpuzzle(\"".$row['puzzlename']."\")\"/> <label for=\"".$row['puzzlename']."\" class=\"puzz_label\">".$row['puzzlename']."</label></td>"; I am getting a weird error in Safari when I try to run this. External USB drive is failing

I have an external USB 2.0 drive WD My Book Mirror Edition, running in RAID 1 (mirroring) mode. A while ago the hard drive started to fail: it stops responding (directories are not listed returning an error after a big timeout). Sometimes it works for weeks before a failure, sometimes – few hours. Small write operations (like removing few files or editing a small file) do not harm, but when copying large files to the drive over the network, or creating the archive locally, the kernel dumps. Also interesting to note that once kernel has failed, Linux does not want to reboot normally (reboot hangs); when Linux box is shutdown with power button, WD drive does not go to sleep mode (as it usually does): leds continue to run, pressing and holding the "shutdown" button on drive's back panel does not do anything; only unplugging the power cord helps. I have browsed and read similar error reports here and there and I tried: I have upgraded the kernel from v2.6.26-2 to 2.6.32-5, which has not solved the problem. They say, this might a cable problem. I have tried to replace the USB-to-miniUSB cable (that connects external drive with computer) with another one. No changes. Somebody suggests to try another USB port. I have only 4 external USB ports, tried another one with no success. They say to try uhci_hcd. I have unmounted the device, unloaded ehci_hcd and mounted again. The difference was that now in log I get reset full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 2 and similar kernel dumps after a while. They say to echo 128 > /sys/block/sdb/device/max_sectors. I tried it with ehci_hcd with no success (note: I have issued this command after the drive was mounted but before using it actively). I have lauched smartmond and checking periodically the output of smartctl: drive temperature is OK, number of bad sectors and uncorrectable errors is 0. skipping a variable using while read in bash

i'm reading a few variables from a file using while read a b c; do (something) done < filename is there an elegant way to skip a variable (read in an empty value), i.e. if I want a=1 b= c=3, what should I write in the file? Right now i'm putting 1 "" 3 and then use b=$(echo $b | tr -d \" ) but this is pretty cumbersome, IMHO any ideas?

How to enable boot timeout in Grub2?

I'm am trying to enable the boot timeout selection in grub2 on Ubuntu 9.10. I modified /etc/default/grub: GRUB_DEFAULT=0 #GRUB_HIDDEN_TIMEOUT=0 GRUB_HIDDEN_TIMEOUT_QUIET=false GRUB_TIMEOUT=2 GRUB_DISTRIBUTOR=`lsb_release -i -s 2> /dev/null || echo Debian` GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="splash quiet" GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="" and ran update-grub, but I still do not have a boot timeout counter. What else can you do to enable this?

I have a post-receive hook that runs on a central git repository set up with gitolite to trigger a git pull on a staging server. It seems to work properly, but throws a "command not found" error when it is run. I am trying to track down the source of the error, but have not had any luck. Running the same commands manually does not produce an error. The error changes depending on what was done in the commit that is being pushed to the central repository. For instance, if 'git rm ' was committed and pushed to the central repo the error message will be "remote: hooks/post-receive: line 16: Removed: command not found" and if 'git add ' was committed and pushed to the central repo the error message will be "remote: hooks/post-receive: line 16: Merge: command not found". In either case the 'git pull' run on the staging server works correctly despite the error message. Here is the post-receive script: #!/bin/bash # # This script is triggered by a push to the local git repository. It will # ssh into a remote server and perform a git pull. # # The SSH_USER must be able to log into the remote server with a # passphrase-less SSH key *AND* be able to do a git pull without a passphrase. # # The command to actually perform the pull request on the remost server comes # from the ~/.ssh/authorized_keys file on the REMOTE_HOST and is triggered # by the ssh login. Auto-execute command after going to a folder with the CD command

Is it possible to auto-execute a command in a folder if you move to it via the cd command? Of course I can define my own command (e.g. CHD.BAT) doing something like this: @echo off cd %1 if exist init.bat ( init.bat ) else ( color 0F title Command Prompt ) But I wonder if something like this would be possible using the standard CD command.
