  • How to enable a two-finger drag on a mac in Silverlight?

    In a Silverlight 4 application I have a ScrollViewer which I enable the user to scroll with the mouse wheel by using SetIsMouseWheelScrollingEnabled(): <ScrollViewer x:Name="CodeBoxScrollViewerModelSingular" tk:DockPanel.Dock="Left" Style="{StaticResource ScrollViewerCodeBoxStyle}"> <TextBox Text="{Binding SingularModelFileContent}" Style="{StaticResource TextBoxCodeBoxStyle}"/> </ScrollViewer> CodeBoxScrollViewerModelSingular.SetIsMouseWheelScrollingEnabled(true); However, someone tested it on a Mac and said: The only problem I noticed on a quick test was that I couldn't scroll down by using a two-finger drag, which has been standard UI behavior on the Mac for several years now. Is there any way to enable a "two-finger drag" on the Mac as you can enable mouse wheel scrolling?

  • Multi-Threading Question Concerning WPF

    Hello, I'm a newbie to threading, and I don't really know how to code a particular task. I would like to handle a mouse click event on a window that will kick off a while loop in a seperate thread. This thread, which is distinct from the UI thread, should call a function in the while loop which updates a label on the window being serviced by the UI thread. The while loop should stop running when the left mouse button is no longer being pressed. All the loop does is increment a counter, and then repeatedly call the function which displays the updated value in the window. The code for the window and all of the threading is given below (I keep getting some error about STA threading, but don't know where to put the attribute). Also, I'm hoping to use this solution, if it ever works, in another project that makes asynchronous calls elsewhere to a service via wcf, so I was hoping not to make any application-wide special configurations, since I'm really new to multi-threading and am quite worried about breaking other code in a larger program...   • NSTableView won't begin dragging rows if the mouseDown happens within the rect of an NSButtonCell.

    I currently have an odd case where I need to be able to reorder rows in an NSTableView, but the only column happens to be an NSButtonCell. I'm trying to see how I can override NSButtonCell's mouse tracking in order to get it to behave in a way so that the NSTableView will begin dragging the row, but am not having much luck. Additional info that might affect the behavior: With this NSTableView, I am not allowing any rows to be selected, but I have forced mouse tracking to always occur for all cells. This is so that the button can still be clicked even though its row can never be selected. Thanks!

    hi guys, im working with the jquery ui draggable plugin and i have an html 5 video element with "preload controls" that acts kind of buggy. I $(".thumb").draggable(); if i drag the video by clicking on the video controls and i'm releasing the mouse again, the video still sticks with the mouse. <div class='thumb video'><video width='260' height='200' preload controls> i have no chance to release the video again if i started draggin it at the video controls. any idea how i could fix this! i probaply should script my own video controls to fix this.

  • Custom Message Box: Windows' "Move Cursor to Default Button" Feature

    In Microsoft Windows, there is a (highly useful) feature that automatically moves the cursor to the default button of a modal dialog box (activated in Win+R, "control mouse"). Now I have created a custom dialog box in Delphi (basically a TForm), see below. But, quite naturally, the cursor does not automatically move to the default button ("Yes" in this case), even though the feature is turned on in "control mouse". How to implement this feature using Windows API? I guess it would be sufficient to obtain the settings as a boolean (true if feature activated, false if not), and then simply move the cursor programmatically using SetCursorPos if true. But how to obtain this setting?

    Hi, few questions, just wondering if anyone can help? I have a table with 1 long row (1000 pixels) and one single column, how do i go about creating a method whereby when the mouse cursor is on the leftmost side of the cell, a variable, lets say X is set to 0, the further right the mouse cursor moves in the cell, the value of X increases. I know that sounds like a strange question but im working on a project where this type of functionality is desired. Is there a javascript method to create this feature? Thanks for any help.

  • Cocoa accessibility API, can I click a window in the background without activating it?

    I've been searching forever for a solution to this, so I thought I'd seek out the brainpower of greater minds than mine. I'm developing a Cocoa app that uses the Accessibility API to manipulate another program (it's a hotkey app). The app I'm controlling typically has multiple windows open, with some hidden behind others. What I would like to do, if it's possible, is to send mouse events to windows using the Accessibility API in a way that presses a button in the window without bringing it to the foreground (interact with the window but don't activate it). The reason I'm trying to do this is that sending the mouse event to this other window will force it to the foreground and disrupt the user's interaction with the foremost window. This is possible on Windows - apparently, because apps similar to mine do it there - but I'm getting the feeling that this isn't possible with Cocoa, given the way the window manager works. Am I mistaken?

    I'm trying to re-write an application I have for Windows in Objective-C for my Mac, and I want to be able to do something like Mac's hot corners. If I move my mouse to the left side of the screen it will make a window visible, if I move it outside of the window location the window will hide again. (window would be pushed up to the left side of screen). Does anyone know where I can find some demo code (or reference) on how to do this, or at least how to tell where the mouse is at, even if the current application is not on top.     Hi all, I am developing a small web app that uses jquery quite a lot. In my app a user can hover an image, which becomes bigger after a few seconds, giving him more details. The problem is that when the image enlarges the image, it takes over the area of the nearby images as well. Now, if the user goes over the second red square (numbered as 2) I would like the currently enlarged image to disappear and instead enlarge the image pictured below as square two. I am not much of a painter, but I have attached a small image to help illustrate the problem. In short, How can I tell jquery to detect when the mouse is over red square number two, yet not raising the event if the mouse is over green square. [in my demo picture, hovering on point]

  • JQuery Autocomplete - Stop mouseover+Return submitting data

    I'm using JQuery Autocomplete (bassistance) and have run into a problem. If the mouse rolls over one of the autocomplete suggestions and the user hits the return key (rather than clicking to make selection), the form is submitted and goes to whatever link was rolled over at the time. This is a problem as people click in the textbox, and when typing their search, leave the pointer where the autocomplete popup appears. So when they hit enter, it doesn't do the search for whatever they typed in the box but whatever was highlighted in the autocomplete suggestions. Is there a way to stop this? Using Google as the functionality I'm after... So just to clarify - I want selections via mouse and keyboard to go to the same place, but if the UP or DOWN arrow has not been pressed (user not selected an autocomplete option via the keyword), dont go to the URL specified in the autosuggest - instead submit the form (traditional method without JQuery) based on what has been typed in the textbox. I hope I'm explaining this clearly? :S

    Hi. I want to send mouse clicks and keyboards keys to a window running a virtual machine such as VMware or VirtualBox. I want to pilotate it from the host OS, from an application written in C#. I can move and click the mouse. But I can't send keyboard input. I tried with SendKeys but it doesn't work. With every other "normal" window, it works.   • In Vim, what is the best way to select, delete, or comment out large portions of multi-screen text?

    Selecting a large amount of text that extends over many screens in an IDE like Eclipse is fairly easy since you can use the mouse, but what is the best way to e.g. select and delete multiscreen blocks of text or write e.g. three large methods out to another file and then delete them for testing purposes in Vim when using it via putty/ssh where you cannot use the mouse? I can easily yank-to-the-end-of-line or yank-to-the-end-of-code-block but if the text extends over many screens, or has lots of blank lines in it, I feel like my hands are tied in Vim. Any solutions? And a related question: is there a way to somehow select 40 lines, and then comment them all out (with "#" or "//"), as is common in most IDEs?

    I have an MVVM kiosk application that I need to restart when it has been inactive for a set amount of time. I'm using Prism and Unity to facilitate the MVVM pattern. I've got the restarting down and I even know how to handle the timer. What I want to know is how to know when activity, that is any mouse event, has taken occurred. The only way I know how to do that is by subscribing to the preview mouse events of the main window. That breaks MVVM thought, doesn't it? I've thought about exposing my window as an interface that exposes those events to my application, but that would require that the window implement that interface which also seems to break MVVM.

  • WinForms ToolTip will not re-appear after first use.

    I have a Forms C# application where I would like to use a toolTip on one of the text boxes. I Initialize the tool-tip in the constructor of the Form class, and it works the first time. So when I hover over the text box with my mouse it works, but once the toolTip times out and it goes away, it does not re-appear when I move my mouse away and back onto the control. I would expect it to come back and I'm wondering what I'm doing wrong.     We have a layer that appears when a certain text input has the focus and that should dissappear when the input loses the focus. It seems the layer disappears before the browser checks where the click goes. What can I do here? One idea would be to watch whether the mouse enters the hideme div and not to close it when the mouse cursor is in there, but this seems way to complicated. Do you have a better idea? By the way: you can try it out very easy by pasting this into the Tryit Editor of w3schools. :-)

  • c# Dynamically generated controls issue.

    Good Day I have a form with a panel docked in it. I then dynamically create 15 panels (named: panel_n) and 15 pictureboxes (named: picturebox_n) on the primary panel (named ContainerPanel). When dragging the any picturebox over a panel (panel_n) created using the relevant mouse events. I would like to get the panel's name that the picture box was dragged over. The mouse cursor seems to be captured. I have tried creating a IMessageFilter interface, but there are still no events that trigger when dragging one of the pictureboxes over any one of the panels. The ClientRectangle.IntersectsWith function also does not work as the co-ords are always 0,0. All I need is the panel name where the picturebox was dragged over (preferably on the mouseup event)
