• facebook iframe application gives null GET/POST

  hey everybody, I came up to something really strange with a facebook iframe application. I don't know why but my global supervariables $_GET and $_POST are empty (nulls actually)! As far as i know, when using iframe for doing applications all the specific facebook variables are kept inside the $_GET variable. But for some reason now I don't have anything. I don't know what might be the problem. And as this wouldn't be enough, when i submit a form using POST as method, my $_POST variable is also null! What you guys think might be the problem? I've spent half a day trying to figure this out, but i didn't get any result.

I have a singleton bean definition like this: <bean id="exampleBean" class="com.examples.ExampleBean"> <property name="exampleBean2"> <bean class="com.examples.ExampleBean2" /> </property> </bean> where ExampleBean could be: public class ExampleBean { private ExampleBean2 exampleBean2; public ExampleBean() { } public ExampleBean2 getExampleBean2() { return exampleBean2; } public void setExampleBean2(ExampleBean2 exampleBean2) { this.exampleBean2 = exampleBean2; } } The problem is that, in certain conditions, the com.examples.ExampleBean2 class might not exist at runtime witch will cause an error when the IoC tries to instantiate exampleBean. What I need is to ignore this error from IoC and allow the exampleBean to be created but leaving the exampleBean2 property null. So the question is: is this possible in any way?   Testing out someone elses code (of course it was ...) , I noticed a few JSP pages printing funky non-ascii characters. Taking a dip into the source I found this tidbit. // remove any periods from first name e.g. Mr. John --> Mr John firstName = firstName.trim().replace('.','\0'); Does replacing a character in a String with a null character even work in Java? I know that '\0' will terminate a c-string. Would this be the culprit to the funky characters? Thanks PR

  I've a domain called Modulo with some properties and a Controller with a method that create a object from model and save it, when execute save the shell show this error: La propiedad [{0}] de la clase [{1}] no puede ser nulo But if i set the constraint nullable to true, the error show again. I think that i should not set this cosntraint. The model is linked to a mysql table with all properties except id allow null. I think I am not doing something wrong here. Any advice?? • Java NullPointerException when traversing a non-null recordset

  Hello again - I am running a query on Sybase ASE that produces a ResultSet that I then traverse and write the contents out to a file. Sometimes, this will throw a NullPointerException, stating that the ResultSet is null. However, it will do this after printing out one or two records. Other times, with the same exact input, I will receive no errors. I have been unable to consistently produce this error. The error message is pointing to a line: output.print(rs.getString(1)); It appears to happen when the query takes a little longer to run, for some reason. The recordset returns thus far have been very small (4 to 7 records). Sometimes I'll have to run the app 3 or 4 times, then the errors will just stop, as though the query was getting "warmed up". I've run the query manually and there doesn't appear to be any performance problems. Thanks again!

  Hi, I would like to hear your thoughts and ideas about this one. in my application i have controls that are binded to objects properties. but.. the controls always looks like that: a check box, label that explain the settings and then the edited control (for ex: text box) when unchecking the checkbox i disable the text box (using binding) when the checkbox is unchecked i want the property to contain null, and when it is checked i would like the property to contain the text box's text. Of course text box can be NumericUpDown, ComboBox, DatePicker etc.. Do you have any smart way of doing it using binding or do i have to do everything on code; I really would like to a build a control that supports that and re-use it all over Ideas? Thanks,

• ASP.Net MVC null reference exception with TextArea name

  Hello, I have a TextArea html helper method I'm calling in a foreach loop. Basically, when I initially load the View it works fine, but when i reload the View and load postback data, the same TextArea throws a NullReferencException and yet the variable I'm using in the TextArea as the name of the TextArea is not null. I've attached a picture below for demonstration: Sorry if it's difficult to see, the blue arrow below is pointing to the variable used to name the TextArea. Again, it works on initial load, but it errors out on postback when the page is reloaded. I'm not sure what's going on.

• What's the standard behaviour for an out parameter when a TryXxxx method returns false?

  Assuming a method with the following signature bool TryXxxx(object something, out int toReturn) What is it acceptable for toReturn to be if TryXxxx returns false? In that it's infered that toReturn should never be used if TryXxxx fails does it matter? If toReturn was a nulable type, then it would make sense to return null. But int isn't nullable and I don't want to have to force it to be. If toReturn is always a certain value if TryXxxx fails we risk having the position where 2 values could be considered to indicate the same thing. I can see this leading to potential possible confusion if the 'default' value was returned as a valid response (when TryXxxx returns true). From an implementation point if view it looks like having toReturn be a[ny] value is easiest, but is there anything more important to consider?

• Some facebook friends' birthdays returning as null but I have the correct API permissions

  I'm tring to get my friends' birthdays in my app and some of them are null. I thought that those people don't have a birthday set, but they actually do. My fql query is: SELECT uid,name,birthday_date FROM user WHERE uid IN (SELECT uid2 from friend where uid1=me()) My app has the "friends_birthday" permission set. I also tried with "birthday" instead of "birthday_date". Same result. I imagine that this happens because they opted out somehow, but I don't know how. Is there an alternate solution to actually get their birthdays from facebook? Thanks!

• Why wouldn't I be able to establish a trust relationship for a SSL/TLS channel?

  I have a piece of .NET code that is erroring out when it makes a call to HTTPWebRequest.GetRequestStream. Here is the error message: The underlying connection was closed: Could not establish trust relationship for the SSL/TLS secure channel. I've read a few things that suggest that I might need a certificate on the machine running the code, but i'm not sure if that's true or how to do it. If I need to get a certificate, how do I do it?   I have a 'Contact' class with two properties : firstName and lastName. When I want to display a contact's full name, here is what I do: NSString *fullName = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"%@ %@", contact.firstName, contact.lastName]; But when the firstName and/or lastName is set to nil, I get a "(null)" in the fullName string.   I've just downloaded MochaUI, and I'm playing around trying to build an interface. I've successfully created windows, but I'm having trouble when it comes to layouts with columns. I've included all of the libraries in the same order as the demo, and this is in my init code: window.addEvent('domready', function(){ new MochaUI.Column({ id: 'sideColumn1', placement: 'left', width: 200, resizeLimit: [100, 300] }); }); When run, no column is created and I get the error: A is null Does anyone have any ideas? • How to handle null {id} on route?

  What if a user hits my site with http://www.mysite.com/Quote/Edit rather than http://www.mysite.com/Quote/Edit/1000 In other words, they do not specify a value for {id}. If they do not, I want to display a nice "Not Found" page, since they did not give an ID. I currentl handle this by accepting a nullable int as the parameter in the Controller Action and it works fine. However, I'm curious if there a more standard MVC framework way of handling this, rather than the code I presently use (see below). Is a smoother way to handle this, or is this pretty mush the right way to do it?   Hello, I am running a jetspeed portal which contains various portlet applications and have come across an issue after a recent reinstall where some of the portlets will return Cannot pass a null PortletDefinition to a PortletEntity Any idea what is causing this issue? I investigated a bit and it seems that jetspeed runs a process when new portlets are added where it creates mappings in its DB (derby in my case). If this does not complete it seems to cause this problem. Is my assumption correct? If yes, how can I restart this process? Many thanks

  I'm trying to port a portion of AJAX code I wrote over to the BlackBerry application's embedded browser. Our base build is 4.6.1 and the RIM documentation claims that XMLHttpRequest's responseXML is available starting with this version. And when I request an XML file from my local server, I get back the responseText (so I know the request is working), but the responseXML is always null. I've made sure the HTTP "Content-Type" header is set to "text/xml" and I am getting the correct data loaded in a web browser. It's just nulling out in the BB web environment. Does anyone know what might be happening? A backup of using the responseText and piping it through DOMParser is not possible because that object was not added to the BB browser until 4.7.1. So I'm not sure what fallback I have.
