• SVN moving duplicate directory structures onto one another

  I have duplicate directory structures in two locations that I need to merge together in an svn repository. By "merge" I mean I want all files and folder that are unique to structure b to be moved into structure a. When I try to do this using svn move I get the error svn: Path 'com' already exists The folders look like this: src -> com -> (many more files and directories) -> java -> com -> (some files and folders, some folders overlap but all files are unique) src\com is a and src\java\com is b.

• Access Ruby on Rails 'public' directory without relative path

  I have a flash object I wish to load and I belive the best place to store that asset is in the public directory. Suppose it's stored in public/flash, there must be a better way to path to the swf than what I've done below. • How to search for a file or directory in Linux Ubuntu machine

  I created an EC2 instance (Ubuntu 64 bit) and attached a volume from a publicly available snapshot to the instance. I successfully mounted the volume. I am supposed to be able to run a script from this attached volume using the following steps as explained in the tutorial: Log in to your virtual machine. mkdir /space mount /dev/sdf1 /space cd /space ./setup-script The problem is that, when I try: ./setup-script I got the following message: -bash: ./setup-script: No such file or directory What is the problem ? How can I search for the ./setup-script in the whole machine ? I'm not very familiar with linux system. Please, help. • How can I find out which user deleted a directory?

  My Ubuntu server has about roughly 30 active users on it. I personally know everyone using the server. Recently, a few friends and I were working on project. We made a new directory for the project and since everyone knows everyone we didn't bother protecting our work under a bunch of permissions. We should have though, because we woke up this morning to find that someone removed our entire directory. Our work is backed up every night so it's really not a big deal to restore our work. However, we would like to find out who removed it so we can confront them. So far the best thing we've come up with for finding our culprit is checking everyone's bash history but this is long and tedious and chances are that if there was a malicious intent behind the directory removal that our culprit probably modified theirs to cover their tracks (or of course they might use a different shell). So, basically, what is the easiest and quickest way to find out who deleted a directory? Thanks in advance for your time.

  I want to make a website in two languages. I've looked around and settled on the directory option of separating both languages. How do I make it work? Let's say I have the following three files for the landing homepage, the English page and the Spanish page: http://www.domain.com/index.html http://www.domain.com/en/index.html http://www.domain.com/es/index.html Let's also say that /index.html will be in English, with a link to /es/index.html. In turn, /es/index.html will have a link to the English version. Would this be back to /index.html or to /en/index.html. How do I get both English versions (the one at the root and the one in the directory) to actually be the same file in the same directory? I'm new to this, so I'm not using any scripts yet. To me, the obvious solution is to duplicate both English versions and have the one at the root point to files under the /en/ directory, but I'm not a fan of duplication and I've learned that search engines really frown upon that. Anyone point me in the right direction?

• jQuery dynamic field classes not being assigned as desired.

  Hello, I'm working on a fancy login page with 4 unique states attributed through classes for each field (normal, focus, active-on, active-off). Normal is the default style. Focus is the focus style when nothing is typed. Active-on is the focus style when something has been typed. Active-off is for field that have user text in them, but are not focused right now. Here's a demo to help you understand what I'm doing: http://www.controlstack.com/login My JS is working almost correctly (thanks to some folks on this site), except in 2 cases: If I enter something in the username field, then tab over to the password field, it does not add the ".focus" class to the password field. If I blur out of the username field, then focus back on it, enter a few characters, then delete them, it does not add the ".focus" field. • what is the exact way to use Endorsed directory in jdk1.6

  I want to upgrade my jaxws to 2.2 (jdk1.6 comes bundled with jaxws 2.1). My jdk is (I did not install public jre): java version "1.6.0_20" Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_20-b02) Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 16.3-b01, mixed mode) In jaxws' own doc they explain how to do it: One way to fix this is to copy jaxws-api.jar and jaxb-api.jar into JRE endorsed directory, which is $JAVA_HOME/lib/endorsed (or $JDK_HOME/jre/lib/endorsed) But I am not sure this is having any effect in my installation. For starters I have only defined %JAVA_HOME%. And folder $JAVA_HOME/lib/endorsed is inexistant, so I created and copied the two jars. But if I do (wsgen is a tool from jaxws) wsgen -version I still get: JAX-WS RI 2.1.6 in JDK 6 I also tried creating folder JAVA_HOME\jre\lib\endorsed (notice that in the doc they say JDK_HOME, but as I only have JAVA_HOME I used this path). Still same wsgen output. My questions are: What is the difference between JAVA_HOME and JDK_HOME in the doc page? anything significant or just two ways to refer to JAVA_HOME ? Is 'wsgen -version' a valid way to check jaxws version that is used or this always calls the exe in the original jdk, but it does not mean endorsed jars will be used? Anyone knows very detailed steps to install jaxws2.2 in a jdk.16?

• Copying a directory that is version controlled

  I am curious whether it is OK to copy a directory that is under version control and start working on both copies. I know it can be different from one VCS to another, but I intentionally don't specify any VCS since I am curious about different cases. I was talking to a coworker recently about doing it in SVN. I think it should be OK, but I am still not 100% sure, since I don't know what exactly SVN is storing in the working copy. However, if we talk about the DVCS world, things might be even more unclear, since every working copy is a repository by itself. Being faced with doing this in bzr now, I decided to ask the question. Later edit: Some people asked why I would want to do that. Here is the whole story: In the case of SVN it was because being out of the office, the connection to the SVN server was really slow, so me and my coworker decided to check out the sources only once and make a local copy. That's what we did and it worked OK, but I am still wondering whether it is guaranteed to work, or it just happened. In the bzr case, I am planning to move the "main" repo to another server. So I was thinking to just copy it there and start considering that the main repo. I guess the safest is to make a clone though.

So the code is supposed to check if the incoming file is completely written and is not locked by the application that is writing it. I saw another example elsewhere, that suggested the following approach :TestFile ren c:\file.txt c:\file.txt if errorlevel 0 goto docopy sleep 5 goto TestFile :docopy However this example is good for a fixed file. How can I use that many labels and GoTo's inside a for loop without causing an infinite loop? Or is this code safe to be used in the For Loop? Thank you for any help.

• Script to copy files on CD and not on hard disk to a new directory

  I need to copy files from a set of CDs that have a lot of duplicate content, with each other, and with what's already on my hard disk. The file names of identical files are not the same, and are in sub-directories of different names. I want to copy non-duplicate files from the CD into a new directory on the hard disk. I don't care about the sub-directories - I will sort it out later - I just want the unique files. I can't find software to do that - see my post at SuperUser http://superuser.com/questions/129944/software-to-copy-non-duplicate-files-from-cd-dvd Someone at SuperUser suggested I write a script using GNU's "find" and the Win32 version of some checksum tools. I glanced at that, and have not done anything like that before. I'm hoping something exists that I can modify. I found a good program to delete duplicates, Duplicate Cleaner (it compares checksums), but it won't help me here, as I'd have to copy all the CDs to disk, and each is probably about 80% duplicates, and I don't have room to do that - I'd have to cycle through a few at a time copying everything, then turning around and deleting 80% of it, working the hard drive a lot.   Hi. I recently finished and application and created a jar file. One of my classes creates an output directory populating it with files from it's resource. The code is something like this: // Copy files from dir "template" in this class resource to output. private void createOutput(File output) throws IOException { File template = new File(FileHelper.URL2Path(getClass().getResource("template"))); FileHelper.copyDirectory(template, output); } The problem is that now that I am running for a jar, this doesn't work. I tried without luck: Using Streams to solve similar stuff on other classes but it doesn't work with dirs. Code was similar to http://www.exampledepot.com/egs/java.io/CopyFile.html Creating the File template with new File(getClass().getResource("template").toUri()) While writting this I was thinking about instead of having a template dir in the resource path having a zip file of it. Doing it this way I could get the file as an inputStream and unzip it where I need to. But I am not sure if it's the correct way. Thanks for reading!

• How to set Delphi WebBrowser Base directory different that HTML location

  I have a Delphi program that creates HTML files. Later when a button is pressed a TWebBrowser is created and a WebBrowser.Navigate causes the html page to display. Is there anyway to set the WebBrowser "default directory" so it will always be the location of the Delphi executable not the HTML file? I do not want to set the Base value in the HTML to a hardcoded value because then when the HTML is ran from another Delphi exe they are not found. for example: if the exe is run from D:\data\delphi\pgm.exe then the base location D:\data\delphi\ and the jpgs are at D:\data\delphi\jpgs\ but if the exe is run from: C:\stuff\pgm.exe i want the base location to be C:\stuff\ and the jpgs to be at C:\stuff\jpgs\ So I cannot write a line in the HTML with the base location since when it is ran from another exe it would point to wrong location for that exe. So I either need to set the base location when I create the webbrowser and before I read the HTML or I need a way to pass into the webbrowser the location where I can then set the base location. Sorry for being so long-winded but I could not figure out how to saw what I needed.

• Downloading attachments to directory with IMAP in PHP, randomly works

  I found PHP code online to download attachments to a directory using IMAP from here. http://www.nerdydork.com/download-pop3imap-email-attachments-with-php.html I modified it slightly changing $structure = imap_fetchstructure($mbox, $jk); $parts = ($structure->parts); to $structure = imap_fetchstructure($mbox, $jk); $parts = ($structure); to get it to run properly, as otherwise I got an error about how stdClass doesn't define a property called $parts. Doing that, I was able to download all the attachments. I tested it again recently though, and it didn't work. Well, it didn't work 6 times, worked the 7th, and then hasn't worked since. I'm thinking it has something to do with me screwing up the parts handling, since count($parts) keeps returning 1 for each message, so it's not finding any attachments I think. Since it downloaded the attachments at one point with no issues, I feel confident that the area things are getting screwed up is right here. Before this block of code is a for loop that goes through each message in the box, and after it is loop that just goes through $parts for each imap structure. Thanks for any help you can provide. I looked at the imap_fetchstructure page on php.net and can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. Edit: I just double-checked the folder after typing up my question and it all popped up. I feel like I'm going nuts. I hadn't run the code since a few minutes before I started typing this, and it doesn't make sense to me that it would take this long to trigger. I have some 800 messages in the mailbox, but I figured since it printed my statement at the very end of the PHP that all of the file creation work was done.
