• problem in html, table class text stretching out.

  Hey people, I've got a slight problem after weeks of html programming. I've got a large table which I use to construct tabs with, details don't really matter. On every tab there is a tab title (which is defined as one single cell in a table with a class from a .css) and under it there are other rows and columns for the table. sample code for the single table with the single cell in it: <table class='tabcontainer_title'><tr><td class='tabcontainer_title'>TEXT</td></tr></table> This table is again positioned in one cell of the table outside it, which has a different class 'tabcontainer_content' This is in the CSS: .tabcontainer_title{ background-color : #58af34; background-image : url(); text-align : right; vertical-align : top; margin-top : 0px; margin-right : 0px; margin-bottom : 0px; margin-left : 0px; padding-top : 5px; padding-right : 10px; padding-bottom : 5px; padding-left : 0px; font-size : 14px; font-style : normal; color : #000000; } .tabcontainer_content{ width : 100%; font-weight : bolder; background-color : #58af34; color : #000000; padding : 0px; border-collapse : collapse; } The problem I'm experiencing right now is that if there are like 3 rows in the table, which means there's a lot of emtpy space instead of those rows, the text in the tab title has a large margin from the top: but I haven't configured any margin to be present. When the table is full of rows though, hence the table is full, then the tab title holds no unnecessary empty space above the text. What am I missing here?

Currently what displays in the simulator is just hte contents of the paint function, however the ObjectChoiceField is still selectable if one happens to click in the right location. I would like both the text contents and the paint function contents to appear.   I'm creating a small vb.net application, and I'm trying trying to write a list of results from a listview to a text file. I've looked online and found the code to open the save file dialog and write the text file. When I click save on the save file dialog, I receive an IOException with the message "The process cannot access the file 'C:\thethe.txt' because it is being used by another process." The text file is created in the correct location, but is empty. • Focus-dependent text change for TextBoxes in WPF

  Hey there. I'm writing an application in WPF using the MVVM-pattern and will really often use TextBoxes. I don't want to use labels for the user to know user what the text box is for, i.e. I don't want something like this: <TextBlock> Name: </TextBlock> <TextBox /> Instead, I would like the TextBox to contain its own label. Statically, you would express it like this: <TextBox>Name</TextBox> If the cursor is displayed in the textbox, i.e. the TextBox gains focus, I want the description text to disappear. If the TextBox is left empty and it loses the focus, the description text should be shown again. It's similar to the search textbox of StackOverflow or the one of Firefox. (please tell me if your not sure what I mean). One TextBox's label may change at runtime, dependending on e.g. a ComboBox's selected element or a value in my ViewModel. (It's like in Firefox's search TextBox, if you select google from the search engins' menu, the TextBox's label changes to "Google", if you select "Yahoo" its set to "Yahoo"). Thus I want to be able to bind the label's content. Consider that I may already have a Binding on the Text-Property of the TextBox. How can implement such a behaviour and make it reusable for any of my TextBox's? Code is welcome but not needed; a description of what to do is enough. Thank you in advance.

• Pre-formatting text to prevent reflowing

  I've written a fairly simple script that will take elements (in this case, <p> elements are the main concern) and type their contents out like a typewriter, one by one. The problem is that as it types, when it reaches the edge of the container mid-word, it reflows the text and jumps to the next line (like word wrap in any text editor). This is, of course, expected behavior; however, I would like to pre-format the text so that this does not happen. I figure that inserting <br> before the word that will wrap would be the best solution, but I'm not quite sure what the best way to go about doing that is that supports all font sizes and container widths, while also keeping any HTML tags intact. I figure something involving a hidden <span> element, adding text to it gradually and checking its width against the container width might be on the right track, but I'm not quite sure how to actually put this together. Any help or suggestions on better methods would be appreciated.

• Reading lines of data from text files using java

  I have a text file with x amount of lines. each line holds a integer number. When the user clicks a button, an action is performed via actionlistener where it should list all the values as displayed on the text file. However, right now I have linenum set to 10 implying I already told the code that just work with 10 lines of the text file. So, if my text file has only 3 rows/lines of data...it will list those lines and for rest of the other 7 lines, it will spit out "null". I recall there is a way to use ellipsis to let the program know that you don't know the exact value but at the end it calculates it based on the given information. Where my given information will the number of lines with numbers(data).   I've saved a response from an outside server to a text file, so I don't need to keep running connection requests. Instead, perhaps I can use the text file for my manipulation purposes, until I'm read for re-connecting again. Since this is a text file, and I want to pretend this is the actual outside server (sending me the same info), how do I make it a real array again? • sIFR 3 randomly placing text on a single line in FF3.6

  Hello, sIFR 3 is behaving strangely in Firefox. The actual sIFR flash element is set within a box that is 412px wide. In IE, Chrome, Safari, etc., the with of the Flash element is a consistent 412px; however, in Firefox, the Flash element is briefly as wide as the Body element, before correcting itself. When the page finishes loading, sometimes the Flash element remains that wide, breaking the layout (the Flash text flows underneath the sidebar to the right). Setting a width in the CSS for the .sIFR-flash element causes it to remain the proper 412px wide, but the text doesn't wrap at all--it just cuts off at the right edge, and the height of the flash element remains one line high. The markup is simple; it's just an h2 within a div. My sIFR code: var clerkenwell = { src: '/flash/sifr.swf' }; sIFR.activate(clerkenwell); sIFR.replace(clerkenwell, { selector: '.post h2', css: '.sIFR-root { color: #1899c4; text-transform:uppercase; font-size:30px; }', transparent: 'true', }); Setting forceWidth: 'true', just causes the same problem as using a CSS width on the .sIFR-flash element. • trouble with custom 'Text Bubble' component (examples included)

  I'm trying to use a custom Text component to show a series of comments. I got the original idea from: http://www.eonflex.com/?p=40 I've got the base case working but I am stuck with 2 problems I cant seem to figure out: Since I am drawing around the text, the actual height of each bubble is greater than that of the Text field, as a result, the last bubble is always chopped off. I have tried explicitly overriding the height getter, and adding some padding, but I cant seem to get it right. You can see an example here: http://test.lambandtunafish.com/bubbles/CommentTest.swf In my layout, I have 2 VBoxes (one nested inside the other). The first vbox shows a form where the user can enter a comment, and the second box has all the comments. In order to ensure that the scrollbars only show up on the second box, I set minHeight="0" on the nested VBox, but then for some reason, some comments' text is shifted to the right. • Sorting text and attached images in MFMailCompositeViewController?

  In the app I'm currently writing I'd like to populate the message body of an e-mail with a combination of text and images. It took me forever to find out that in order to get an embedded image, you had to have bold tags in the message body (...uhhh, yeah), otherwise the image just shows up as an attachment. But now I have the problem that all of the images just go to the end of the body, and I can't programmatically put text after or in between any of the attachments. So far I've tried: Adding images as part of the body string using tags and a base64 string. This would have worked, but most e-mail clients reject images embedded in this manner. Using normal tags with a references to the attached files, using the assigned filenames. Didn't work at all. Attaching images normally, but also attaching blocks of text to the e-mail. The text is not embedded in the same manner as the images. Turns out to be an attached txt file on the receiving end. Apple has restricted their MFMailComposieViewController class to the point of ridiculousness, but I know there has to be a way to do this, because they add in their stupid "Sent from my *apple device name here*" message at the end of every e-mail. So does anyone have any ideas?

• Disabled input text color

  Hi The simple HTML below displays differently in Firefox and WebKit-based browsers (I checked in Safari, Chrome and iPhone). In Firefox both border and text have the same color (#880000), but in Safari the text gets a bit lighter (as if it had some transparency applied to it). Can I somehow fix this (remove this transparency in Safari)? UPDATE: Thank you for your answers.   Hi everyone, I currently have a very simple view which displays info from a JSON feed. The problem I'm facing is the few second pause I encounter once I press this tab. How can I make this view load instantly and then have the label.text areas load after? Preferable with an activity indicator? Should I use threads? Thanks in advance! • text in div not going to next line

  I'm trying to update my DNS-Server dynamically using nsupdate. Prerequisite I'm using Debian 6 on my DNS-Server and Debian 4 on my client. I created a public/private key pair using: dnssec-keygen -C -a HMAC-MD5 -b 512 -n USER sub.example.com. I then edited my named.conf.local to contain my public key and the new zone i wish to update. It now looks like this (note: I also tried allow-update { any; }; without success): zone "example.com" { type master; file "/etc/bind/primary/example.com"; notify yes; allow-update { none; }; allow-query { any; }; }; zone "sub.example.com" { type master; file "/etc/bind/primary/sub.example.com"; notify yes; allow-update { key "sub.example.com."; }; allow-query { any; }; }; key sub.example.com. { algorithm HMAC-MD5; secret "xxxx xxxx"; }; Next, I copied the private key file (key.private) to another server I want to update the zone from. The zone isn't updated, nor does my nsupdate change anything. I'm not sure if the file /etc/bind/primary/sub.example.com should exist prior to the first update or not. I tried it without the file, with an empty file and with a pre-configured zone file. Without success. The sparse information I found on the net pointed me towards file and folder permissions regarding the bind working directory, so I changed the permissions of both /etc/bind and /var/cache/bind (which is the home dir of my "bind" user). • Text Expander broken upon Snow Leopard Upgrade

  I've been using Text Expander for years. However, I found out today it doesn't work on my newly upgraded (to Snow Leopard) Macbook Pro anymore. I know that there are a lot of applications that are not compatible with Snow Leopard, and developers around the world are working on them to work again on our beautiful macs. My questions are: 1. Is TextExpander supposed to NOT work on Snow Leopard? 2. What is a good substitution to replace TextExpander? or any updates from TextExpander developers?

• Windows 7 Default Gateway problem

  Hi, I have a strange problem (or at least seems strange to me) the below are IP configurations for two laptops on my home network which consists of a main router 192.168.11.1 and a connected wireless router (i know this can cause problems but has always worked until I got the win7 machine) at 192.168.11.2 with DHCP disabled. Laptop 1 - Win XP IP: Dynamically assigned by main router default gateway: 192.168.11.1 (main router) This machine gets perfect connectivity. Laptop 2 - Win7 IP: dynamically assigned by main router Default Gateway: 192.168.11.2 THIS IS THE PROBLEM... I cannot seem to get this machine to default to the main router for the gateway UNLESS I go to a static configuration which I would rather not do since I regularly go between my home and public networks. Why is my Win7 machine not finding the main gateway the same way that the other laptop is? I believe that the rest of my setup is fine as it has always worked and it works perfectly when set as static ip and gateway. Please help! Thanks

• Server can't set IP after power outage

  The power went out all of a sudden and when we tried to restart everything when it came back on - our server can't be assigned an IP? We got an error stating that the IP for the server was already in use by another system. We then shut down all systems and restarted the server but then for some reason the server was assigned an IP but no one could connect to it - after restarting the server after setting it to have a dynamically assigned ip - the server now has no ip - just 0.0.0.0 - running an ipconfig/renew or ipconfig /release has no effect.. what should we do!!
