    A reactive task is sometimes seen in the IOI programming competition. Unlike batch tasks, reactive solutions take input from another program as well as outputting it. The program typically 'query' the judge program a certain number of times, then output a final answer. An example The client program accepts lines one by one, and simply echoes it back. When it encountered a line with "done", it exists immediately. Is there any streamlined process in .NET to programmatically generate those certificates? I can, of course, keep spawning makecert or openssl, but I was looking for more programmatic, in-memory method, when you just get X509Certificate on output.     How do I get Wix to include a CustomTable with no rows in the final MSI? If I simply define the table like this <CustomTable Id="MyTable"> <Column Id="Id" Type="string" Category="Identifier" PrimaryKey="yes"/> <Column Id="Root" Type="string"/> <Column Id="Key" Type="string"/> <Column Id="Name" Type="string"/> </CustomTable> Wix omits it from the final output.     I have table A with a primary id, a table B with a primary key id also and another table C with a primary key id and rows Aid and Bid where Aid and Bid are foreign keys of C and the primary keys of A and B respectively. One way of populating these DB would be populating table A, table B and table C separately. I would like to know if there is a more clever way of doing it, where I could populate A first and at the same time I populate B, I can indicate that an entry in C should be also created.   • Will running aspnet_regiis.exe -ir create any problems?

    Hi there. I've asked a question about changing the version of .Net sites in the IIS. If it affects classic asp sites etc (See Does asp.net setting affect classic asp (IIS 6 settings)) And that seems fine. So my follow-up question is, will running this command get me fired? What it does is changing the default value (and all existing?) of the .net version to 2.0. This wont affect any of the .net sites since they're allready versioned to 2.0. The classic asp pages needs to get its app pools updated so its functionoal with 2.0 but may I run into any other troubles? I've tried doing this on a test environment and no sites whet down during the installation period (from the command) but I did not have any classic asp sites or any .net sites running though (which I should test, come to think about it) but may something else break? Is this command doing anything else? We have some very large sites running and we cannot have downtime periods so I need to be 100% sure that this command is safe. Since all sites go down everytime we change a new sites .net version number we need to get this fix live asap. Any good ideas?

    History: I created a key and pem file on Amazon. I created a private bucket I created a public distribution and used origin id to connect to the private bucket: works I created a private distribution and connected it the same as #3 - now I get access denied: expected I'm having a really hard time generating a url that will work.     I'm looking for a way to generate pdf files from html In order to make simple tabular reports I would need the following features table rendering variable page size repeating headers / footers on every page calculated page number / total page css support would be nice I know there have been many similar questions in stackoverflow, but I don't know if there's a product that supports the aforementioned features... Ideally, the source would be a plain and simple well built html with css, (I'm building the html files, so I can adapt to the products needs, that is, it won't have to render every piece of html crap you can throw at a browser) and with some custom tags to configure headings, footer, page size, etc... then I would run a command line to convert it from html to pdf. I think http://www.allcolor.org/YaHPConverter/ does something like that

  • Programming Technique: How to create a simple card game

    Hi, As I am learning the Ruby language, I am getting closer to actual programming. So I was thinking of creating a simple card game. My question isn't Ruby orientated, but I do know want to learn how to solve this problem with a genuine OOP approach. In my card game I want to have four players. Using a standard deck with 52 cards, no jokers/wildcards. In the game I won't use the Ace as a dual card, it is always the highest card. So, the programming problems I wonder about are the following: How can I sort/randomize the deck of cards? There are four types, each having 13 values. Eventually there can be only unique values, so picking random values could generate duplicates. How can I implement a simple AI? As there are tons of card games, someone would have figured this part out already, so references would be great. I am a truly Ruby nuby, and my goal here is to learn to solve problems, so pseudo code would be great, just to understand how to solve the problem programmatically. I apologize for my grammar and writing style if it's unclear, for it is not my native language. Also pointers to sites where such challenges are explained, would be a great resource!     I need a sensible way to draw arbitrary text files into a C# program, and produce an arbitrary anonymous type object, or perhaps a composite dictionary of some sort. I have a representative text file that looks like this: adapter 1: LPe11002 Factory IEEE: 10000000 C97A83FC Non-Volatile WWPN: 10000000 C93D6A8A , WWNN: 20000000 C93D6A8A adapter 2: LPe11002 Factory IEEE: 10000000 C97A83FD Non-Volatile WWPN: 10000000 C93D6A8B , WWNN: 20000000 C93D6A8B Is there a way to get this information into an anonymous type object or some similar structure? The final anonymous type might look something like this, if it were composed in C# by hand: new { adapter1 = new { FactoryIEEE = "10000000 C97A83FC", Non-VolatileWWPN = "10000000 C93D6A8A", WWNN = "20000000 C93D6A8A" } adapter2 = new { FactoryIEEE = "10000000 C97A83FD", Non-VolatileWWPN = "10000000 C93D6A8B", WWNN = "20000000 C93D6A8B" } } Note that, as the text file's content is arbitrary (i.e. the keys could be anything), a specialized solution (e.g. that looks for names like "FactoryIEEE") won't work. However, the structure of the file will always be the same (i.e. indentation for groups, colons and commas as delimiters, etc). Or maybe I'm going about this the wrong way, and you have a better idea?

    I created a cab file that contains my activex using CABARC.exe. I also created an .inf file. My inf file looks like this: [version] signature="$CHICAGO$" AdvancedINF=2.0 [Add.Code] MySetup.exe=MySetup.exe [MySetup.exe] file-win32-x86=thiscab clsid={49892510-B520-4b35-8ADF-57084DD2F717} My html looks like this: <object name="secondobj" style='display:none' id='TestActivex' classid='CLSID:49892510-B520-4b35-8ADF-57084DD2F717' codebase='http://myurl/MySetup.cab#version=1,0,0,0'></object> I created the CABARC using the following commmand: C:\tools\Cab\BIN>CABARC.EXE N MySetup.cab MySetup.msi setup.inf I also added http://myurl to the trusted sites. Now the first time I opened the html page in IE, I saw a yellow bar, which I accepted. However it never installed the activex control. I dont see the installation in my program files nor can I see anything in the event logs or in the temporary download folder or in the "manage add-ons". Now everytime I open the webpage in IE, I do not see the yellow bar anymore. Can anybody help me out here please?
