  Is there a way to find out how much memory is being used by a web page, or by my jquery application? Here's my situation: I'm building a data heavy webapp using a jquery frontend and a restful backend that serves data in JSON. The page is loaded once, and then everything happens via ajax. The UI provides users with a way to create multiple tabs within the UI, and each tab can contain lots and lots of data. I'm considering limiting the number of tabs they can create, but was thinking it would be nice to only limit them once memory usage has gone above a certain threshold.

• Wordpress add a new page to admin section

  Hello. I have already developed my plugin for wordpress and I can manage it from admin. I have passed the access to the plugin file usin add_submenu_page. The problem is that the plugin is extending and I want to use another file that is linked from the main file. For example I have second_page.php?id=3. When I try to access this link, i get a "You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page." message. I want to "validate" this page also for using with this script and I don't know how. Ideas ?

• Make page to tell browser not to cache/preserve input values

  Most browser cache form input values. So when user refreshes page, the inputs have same values. Here's my problem. When user clicks Save, server validates POSTed data (e.g. checked products), and if not valid, sends it back to browser. However, as stated above, even if server clears selection for some values, they may still be selected because of browser cache! My data has invisible (until parent item selected) checkboxes, so user may be even not aware that some previous value is still selected, until clicks Save again and gets error message - even though user thinks it's not. Which is irritating. This can be resolved by doing Ctrl-F5, but it's not even a solution.Is there automatic/programmatic way to tell browser not to cache form input data on some form/page?

• xp stop error 50 page fault in non paged area

  I have a laptop that fails to boot with the BSOD error: "page_fault_in_non_paged_area" STOP: 0x00000050 (0xEC6B738D, 0x00000000, 0x8649308C, 0x00000000) The laptop has 2 memory DIMMs. I removed each DIMM one at a time and the error remained with just one DIMM installed. I have run spinrite 6.0 on the hard drive no errors found. Booted to recovery mode and ran CHKDSK /R, it found and fixed errors but still gets the stop error. Any other suggestions to try?

• Running custom Javascript on every page in Mozilla Firefox

  I have a custom piece of Javascript which I would like to run on every web page from specific domains, or perhaps simply on every web page. (If you are wondering: it is not malicious. It allows to display formulas by using MathJax.) Is that possible? I tried including it in userContent.css, that of course did not work. A simple Greasemonkey script I tried did not insert it. Is it because of the security precautions? (Which would be very logical). Still, there should be a way to do it on the machine I physically control, by changing something in Mozilla chrome directory, shouldn't it? Anyway, how can I do this for myself?

• Using Javascript in Google Web Optimizer Page Sections

  Is it possible to use Javascript in the content of a page section variation? I want different variations to make different Javascript function calls, so I have variation content like: Variation 1 <script type="text/javascript">my_func('abc');</script> Variation 2 <script type="text/javascript">my_func('def');</script> However, when I preview my page, I can't verify that my_func(content){ alert(content); } is actually being run. Does GWO not support JS content, or am I missing something?

• Slow page unload in IE

  I am developing a site which creates many table rows dynamically. The total amount of rows right now is 187. Everything works fine when creating the rows, but in IE when I leave the page, there is a large amount of lag. I do not know if this is some how related to the heavy DOM manipulation I am doing in the page? I do not create any function closures when building the dynamic content's event handlers so I do not believe this problem is related to memory leaks. Any insight is much appreciated.

  Hello All: I have one MVC view page in which I show different links and I am using ThickBox to show a different page when ever one of these links is clicked. In these pages, I am using jQuery functions to do some changes, but I am not able to resolve the jquery file path on the view pages. I need to give absolute path something like "http://test.com/js/jquery.js". But is there any way to make it relative? I also tried getting the host url and using <%=% and <%# % but none is working. • .htaccess redirect to error page if port is not 80

  I'm running a portable server through usb stick. The thing is I also have WAMP installed in my local machine and Apache somehow gets started on windows startup, because of some random reason which I don't recall now and it can't be changed. I want to prepare my portable server in situations like this, so closing httpd.exe from process and starting my portable server is not an option. Anyway, because of already active httpd.exe my portable server's WordPress site can only be accessed through localhost:81 - this is a problem as WP site is very dependent on the URL and I don't want to include the url with port on WP database. Here is what I want to do through .htaccess: On any path except for error.php file check if not port 80 If not port 80 redirect to /error.php?code=port It it possible for it to have priority over WP redirection or URL handling? In the error.php I provided info on how to manually close httpd.exe and such so my family and friends can access the portable site. It's sort of like a gallery and calender application for events and other such stuff... Please help? I'm I can't figure it out at all. I know others may not have apache already running, but I want to prepare for such a situation.   i am trying to make the preloading work in such a way that the components i wish to preload start to load after successfully loading the page. for example, i have index.php. i want it to load up completely. as soon as it loads up i want to start loading the other components. to make things clear. i have a nav that makes use of large size images. if i load them along with the index.php file, it would increase load up time of the page. i wish for those large images to load after completely rendering index.php? am i making sense? is it possible?

• .NET AxWebBrowser can't open page "Navigation to the webpage was canceled" error

  Oh, I am stuck again on this quiet annoying problem. I am trying to do a little automated browsing using the axWebBrowser component and it worked before. Now all of a sudden I get the following message when I try to browse to a page. Navigation to the webpage was canceled What you can try: Refresh the page. I totally disabled my firewall, ran VS2008 in Administrator mode, I even installed IE8 all to no avail. By the way IE8 doesn't work either. I don't know if the problem is related but all I get when I put a URL into IE8 is this message. Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage I don't so much mind that, I just really need to get my visual studio axWebBrowser working.

  There is a site that I need to monitor for changes and pop an alarm if the change is over a certain threshold. Ideally it would use Growl to pop the notification but I'm open to alternatives. If there is an application out there that does this for purchase, I'll just buy it. • Wordpress Blank White Page for Login

  When I go to the /wp-login.php portion of my Wordpress site I get a blank white screen. In fact, throughout the entire domain I get blank white screen. Also, I can't even connect to the server via FTP (tried with other FTP accts to make sure not FTP client). Is this an issue with the host or my WP? Not even sure how to fix it if it's on my end cuz I can't even login to FTP or to the Admin Dashboard! Any help = appreciated.

  I know that there are many posts about this on Stackoverflow, but this one is different. All of the other fixes to this have to do with javascript, but I don't even have javascript on my page. None. And I am still getting this error. Was there any other reasons why this error was being caused? • Visual Studio ASP.Net MVC undo set as start page action

  I have an web application that I'm working on, it was working fine until my curiosity got the better of me and I right-clicked on a view and chose Set As Start Page option. Now, whenever I run my application it takes me to the Resource Not Found error page. I have the default register route set in my Global config route which was working fine before. I notice that the URL now reads: http://localhost:1234/Views/User/Login.aspx instead of http://localhost:1234/ like it was before. I'm not sure how to undo this action or what was changed, I've looked in my web.config file but I'm not sure what to look for exactly, Help is appreciated.
