• Unable to have nokogiri obey custom path parameters during install

• Yii - Custom GridView with Multiple Tables

  So, I've extended GridView to include an Advanced Search feature tailored to the needs of my organization. Filter - lets you show/hide columns in the table, and you can also reorder columns by dragging the little drag icon to the left of each item. Sort - Allows for the selection of multiple columns, specify Ascending or Descending. Search - Select your column and insert search parameters. Operators tailored to data type of selected column. Version 1 works, albeit slowly. Basically, I had my hands in the inner workings of CGridView, where I snatch the results from the DataProvider and do the searching and sorting in PHP before rendering the table contents. Now writing Version 2, where I aim to focus on clever CDbCriteria creation, allowing MySQL to do the heavy lifting so it will run quicker. The implementation is trivial when dealing with a single database table. The difficulty arises when I'm dealing with 2 or more tables... For example, if the user intends to search on a field that is a STAT relation, I need that relation to be present in my query. Here's the question. How do I assure that Yii includes all with relations in my query so that I include comparisons? Furthermore, why is the query a SELECT COUNT(DISTINCT 't'.'id') ?

• Deleting items from a ListView using a custom BaseAdapter

  I am using a customised BaseAdapter to display items on a ListView. The items are just strings held in an ArrayList. The list items have a delete button on them (big red X), and I'd like to remove the item from the ArrayList, and notify the ListView to update itself. However, every implementation I've tried gets mysterious position numbers given to it, so for example clicking item 2's delete button will delete item 5's. It seems to be almost entirely random. One thing to note is that elements may be repeated, but must be kept in the same order. For example, I can have "Irish" twice, as elements 3 and 7. Please note that I did, at first, have the deleteButton clickListener inside the getView method, and used 'position' to delete the value, but I had the same problem. Any suggestions appreciated, this is really irritating me.

  Hi, I'm currently using JavaScript and jQuery. I have an function which executes once the document is ready, and inside that I am creating objects which contain various attributes. Within the same function, I can access these new object's attributes no problem, however once I'm inside a different function I can't seem to reference them properly and therefore cannot access the objects or the information inside them. What's the correct way to reference the attributes of an object which was created in a different function to the one looking for the information?

  Background: Want to use GF3 in development, where as actual SIT, UAT, and production is using WAS. Problem: With the remote session beans everything is good to go, as GF3 gives a non-standard JNDI name, which is same as what WAS suggests, i.e. an absolute class name. Now for the local session beans WAS use the same absolute class name but with the prefix, i.e. ejblocal:. Whereas GF3 doesn't give any non-standard JNDI name for local session beans. GF3 came up with only portable name, java:global/..I need to find a way so I can use the same names for both. I am using EJB 3.0, WAS 7.9, and Glassfish 3. Don't have any xml confiuration for ejbs. Using Spring to inject the bean in Struts2 actions. With remote interfaces both servers are okay and agreed on a single convention, but for locals they differ. Is there any solution for this? Or just sun-ejb-jar.xml will solve it? Thanks.

  Scenario Having already read a post on this on the same site, which didn't work, I'm feeling a bit stumped but I'm sure I've done this before. I have a Dictionary. I want to take the first 200 values from the Dictionary. CODE Dictionary<int,SomeObject> oldDict = new Dictionary<int,SomeObject>(); //oldDict gets populated somewhere else. Dictionary<int,SomeObject> newDict = new Dictionary<int,SomeObject>(); newDict = oldDict.Take(200).ToDictionary(); OBVIOUSLY, the take returns an IENumerable, so you have to run ToDictionary() to convert it back to a dictionary of the same type. HOWEVER, it just doesn't work, it wants some random key selector thing - or something? I have even tried just casting it but to no avail. Any ideas?

It then calls inets:start(httpd,config:lookup(httpd_conf)). I gather that I need to move the starting of these out into the .app file's (application list) but I'm not sure how to get my config data into the inets:start function (or pass in httpd)?   I hate long code snippets and I'm sorry about this one, but it turns out that this asp.net stuff can't get much shorter and it's so specific that I haven't been able to generalize it without a full code listing. I just want simple two-way, declarative, edit-only databinding to a single instance of an object. Not a list of objects of a type with a bunch of NotImplementedExceptions for Add, Delete, and Select, but just a single view-state persisted object. This is certainly something that can be done but I've struggled with an implementation for years. This newest, closest implementation was inspired by this article from 4-Guys-From-Rolla. Unfortunately, after implementing, I'm getting the following error and I don't know what I'm missing: System.InvalidOperationException: Databinding methods such as Eval(), XPath(), and Bind() can only be used in the context of a databound control. If I don't use Bind(), and only use Eval() functionality, it works. In that way, the error is especially confusing. Update: Actually, using Eval() does NOT work, but using <%# Container.SampleString %> works. However, Eval("SampleString") gives the same error. That leads me back to this article I found earlier but had discarded. Now I believe it might be related, though I haven't cracked it yet ... What should be fixed to get what I meant? EDIT: Ok, so the solution to use ScopedTypeVariables and forall a in type signature works. But why the following produces very similar error to the one above?   Hi, I have written a very simple control. C# Visual Studio 2008. Its output should be, and is a dll. I have added a reference to the dll within the project that I intend to use it with. The msdn article about how to write a control states that it should appear in the 'Add reference / projects' list, which it doesn't but I simply navigated to it under the 'browse' tab, went to the /bin folder and added the reference that way. I dragged it over to my toolbox, but it shows up as a 'Text:xhair_tool' and when i try and add it to a form, it won't, so what have I done wrong? It was created as a 'Windows forms control' project. I was wondering if there was a short-hand way of querying an object's RevisionHistory based on a particular QueryDate date instead of having to use the following query structure: var results = EntityObject.Revisions.Where(x => (x.DateEffectiveFrom == null && x.DateEffectiveTo == null) || (x.DateEffectiveFrom == null && x.DateEffectiveTo >= QueryDate) || (x.DateEffectiveFrom <= QueryDate && x.DateEffectiveTo == null) || (x.DateEffectiveFrom <= QueryDate && x.DateEffectiveTo >= QueryDate)); I've tried creating the following boolean function in the Revision class: partial class Revision { public bool IsEffectiveOn(DateTime date) { return (x.DateEffectiveFrom == null && x.DateEffectiveTo == null) || (x.DateEffectiveFrom == null && x.DateEffectiveTo >= date) || (x.DateEffectiveFrom <= date && x.DateEffectiveTo == null) || (x.DateEffectiveFrom <= date && x.DateEffectiveTo >= date)); } ... } And then updating the query to: var results = EntityObject.Revisions.Where(x => x.IsEffectiveOn(QueryDate)); but this obviously doesn't translate to SQL. Any ideas would be much appreciated.

  Classes that implement IEnumerable and provide a public void Add(/* args */) function can be initialized like in the following example: List<int> numbers = new List<int>{ 1, 2, 3 }; which calls the Add(int) function 3x after initializing the List<int>. Is there a way to define this behavior explicitly for my own classes? For example, could I have the initializer call a function other than the appropriate Add() overload?

• Custom iterator for a class based on two sets

  I have a class that contains two sets. They both contain the same key type but have different compare operations. I would like to provide an iterator for the class that iterates through the elements of both sets. I want to start with one set, then when I increment an iterator pointing to the last element of the first set, I want to go to the first element of the second set. How do I do this? I would like to preserve the bidirectional iterator semantics of std::set, but if it turns out that implementing a forward iterator is much easier, so be it. I'm willing to use the Boost Iterator library if that would help.

(I don't need the font size to change). So everything's working to a point. I have a span with class countdown and whatever is in it when the page is refreshed goes down second by second. However, I need it to be formatted in M:S format. So, my two questions: 1) What can I use instead of animate to take care of the loop yet maintain the callback 2) How (where in the code should I) can I play with the time format? Thanks.

• Custom DataType in DataTemplate breaks WPF designer

  Why does the DataTemplate line break the WPF designer in Visual Studio 2008? The program compiles and runs properly. The DataTemplate is applied as it should.
