  • How to expose an entity via alternate keys with spring data rest

    Spring-data-rest does a great job exposing entities via their primary key for GET, PUT and DELETE etc. operations. /myentityies/123 It also exposes search operations. /myentities/search/byMyOtherKey?myOtherKey=123 In my case the entities have a number of alternate keys. The systems calling us, will know the objects by these IDs, rather than our internal primary key. Is it possible to expose the objects via another URL and have the GET, PUT and DELETE handled by the built-in spring-data-rest controllers? /myentities/myotherkey/456 We'd like to avoid forcing the calling systems to have to make two requests for each update. I've tried playing with @RestResource path value, but there doesn't seem to be a way to add additional paths.

The starting contents (in bytes) are: 41-41-45-41-41-41-44-2F-2F-2F-2F-2F-41-51-41-41-41 ... What I am trying to do I have a structure with 3 classes. I have a class A which is a base class, and then class B and C which are derived from A. I am trying to store random types of B and C in the database using LINQ to SQL, in a column with the type VARCHAR(MAX). I cannot use BINARY as the length is around 15.000. My code...   • Export DB Tables via phpMyAdmin In Non-Alphabetical Order

    I have a MySQL database from a Joomla MultiSite installation where it has a set of tables with different prefixes for each Joomla site. When I export the db via phpMyAdmin it creates a SQL file where the tables are created and populated in alphabetical order. The problem is that the tables for the slave sites have dependencies on the tables for the master site, but alphabetically their prefixes are ahead of the master site. So the export works fine but when I try importing I get error after error and have to manually move sections around in the SQL file to make sure that the dependent tables are created/populated first. So, is it possible to export a db via phpMyAdmin with the tables in a specific order?

  • wpf app invisible remotely (via radmin)

    hi gang, I've built a little WPF utility that watches a serialport and visualises monitoring information with WPF. It works fine, but a colleague just tried using it from another machine via radmin and my app is completely invisible! if you're at the machine you see it, if you view it via radmin you see the same screen but no app. Instead you see the app behind it (in this case windows explorer), but can't click on anything in the space where my app is. Has anyone else come across this before??

    Good day! I am using Xcode 3.1.4 and iPhone SDK 2.2.1. I am creating an iphone application and i would need the user to download a custom configuration profile (created by me) from a URL loaded via webkit. I have tested the URL in safari and it downloads and installs the profile just fine. however, the url opened via webkit could NOT download it. Why is this happening? Is this really possible? any help would be much appreciated. thanks.

    There is a file that hosted remotely on a server that is not supporting Shell Access. I bought a new server that supports Shell Access so now I want to copy a file that is on the non-supporting server to new server via a Shell Command using Putty. File url is like this http://www.domain.com/file.gzip and it is username/password protected. To be more specific, I want to copy a backup of a home directory from cPanel to my new server via Shell command. I have done this few months ago but I don't remember it now and also I failed to Google it.

  • Tool or library for end-users to run queries to select (not modify) data?

    For a utility I'm working on, the client would like to be able to generate graphic reports on the data that has been collected. I can already generate a couple canned graphs (using ZedGraph, which is a very nice library); however, the utility would be much more flexible if the graphs were more programmable or configurable by the end-user. TLDR version I want users to be able to use something like SQL to safely extract and select data from a List of objects that I provide and can describe. What free tools or libraries will help me accomplish this? Full version I've given thought to using IronPython, IronRuby, and LuaInterface, but frankly they're all a bit overpowered for what I want to do. My classes are fairly simple, along the lines of: class Person: string Name; int HeightInCm; DateTime BirthDate; Weight[] WeighIns; class Weight: int WeightInKg; DateTime Date; Person Owner; (exact classes have been changed to protect the innocent). To come up with the data for the graph, the user will choose whether it's a bar graph, scatter plot, etc., and then to actually obtain the data, I would like to obtain some kind of List from the user simply entering something SQL-ish along the lines of SELECT Name, AVG(WeighIns) FROM People SELECT WeightInKg, Owner.HeightInCm FROM Weights And as a bonus, it would be nice if you could actually do operations as well: SELECT WeightInKg, (Date - Owner.BirthDate) AS Age FROM Weights The DSL doesn't have to be compliant SQL in any way; it doesn't even have to resemble SQL, but I can't think of a more efficient descriptive language for the task. I'm fine filling in blanks; I don't expect a library to do everything for me. What I would expect to exist (but haven't been able to find in any way, shape, or form) is something like Fluent NHibernate (which I am already using in the project) where I can declare a mapping, something like var personRequest = Request<Person>(); personRequest.Item("Name", (p => p.Name)); personRequest.Item("HeightInCm", (p => p.HeightInCm)); personRequest.Item("HeightInInches", (p => p.HeightInCm * CM_TO_INCHES)); // ... var weightRequest = Request<Weight>(); weightRequest.Item("Owner", (w => w.Owner), personRequest); // Indicate a chain to personRequest // ... var people = Table<Person>("People", GetPeopleFromDatabase()); var weights = Table<Weight>("Weights", GetWeightsFromDatabase()); // ... Or is there some way to sandbox LINQ? cs-script is close too, but it doesn't seem to offer sandboxing yet either. I'd be hesitant to expose the NHibernate interface either, as the user should have a read-only view of the data at this point in the usage. I'm using C# 3.5, and pure .NET solutions would be preferred. The bottom line is that I'm really trying to avoid writing my own parser for a subset of SQL that would only apply to this single project.

And so I started. I'm using C#, so I found WebClient and Uri. I've managed to get the source code for the site, yet the problem occurred that the specific data I'm looking for is generated via AJAX, after the source code has loaded. So that's my problem. How can I get that code, if it needs to be requested via an AJAX call first?

  • Multiple Apps Possible via Launch Services, want to Specify Particular One

    Here's the issue: I have a list of App names that I want to launch. They do not include a path (e.g. {"VLC","Microsoft Word"}. I have two different copies of VLC in different directories. I would like Launch Services to ONLY open the one from /Applications/ and not EVER launch from /Applications/AnotherDirectory I want to get the path of these, and test to see what Launch Services wants to launch (via bash with "open" or applescript via "tell _ to launch" or [NSWorkspace launch...]) The only way that I have come up with to test the path of a file about to be launched by launch services is: Applescript: tell application "Finder" to return the (posix path of (path to application "VLC" as alias)) That works fine, but launches the app (which I don't want at all). Suggestions?

    I have the following html: <li> <span class="one">Stuff here</span> <span class="two">More stuff</span> </li> .one { display: block; } .two { display: none; } What is the easiest method, preferably CSS only, to hide one and show two when the mouse rolls over the <li> container. If this cannot be done via CSS and only Javascript, I would prefer jQuery via something like live() as the content is updated live and do not wish to constantly rebind manually. EDIT: I forgot to mention that this has to work in IE6 :/

    I have a php script which takes a relative pathname via $_GET, reads that file and creates a thumbnail of it. I dont want the user to be able to read any file from the server. Only files from a certain directory should be allowed, otherwiese the script should exit(). Here is my folder structure: files/ <-- all files from this folder are public my_stuff/ <-- this is the folder of my script that reads the files My script is accessed via mydomain.com/my_stuff/script.php?pathname=files/some.jpg. What should not be allowed e. g.: mydomain.com/my_stuff/script.php?pathname=files/../db_login.php So, here is the relevant part of the script in my_stuff folder: ... $pathname = $_GET['pathname']; $pathname = realpath('../' . $_GET['pathname']); if(strpos($pathname, '/files/') === false) exit('Error'); ... I am not really sure about that approach, doesnt seem too safe for me. Anyone with a better idea?

    I am using HighCharts for a line graph and i am attemping to change the line color for each series. I did find this example here but the data is hard coded. The main problem is though, the line graph has two series, so the below method would set the color for both series i assume? I want the members be able to add other members as friends, I have created a added friend table.   • Issues with LINQ (to Entity) [adding records]

    I am using LINQ to Entity in a project, where I pull a bunch of data (from the database) and organize it into a bunch of objects and save those to the database. I have not had problems writing to the db before using LINQ to Entity, but I have run into a snag with this particular one. Here's the error I get (this is the "InnerException", the exception itself is useless!): New transaction is not allowed because there are other threads running in the session. I have seen that before, when I was trying to save my changes inside a loop. In this case, the loop finishes, and it tries to make that call, only to give me the exception.     Hi I have a calculation in a linq query, although it brings back the correct nuber of days, Im not sure how to better format it select new { time = (System.DateTime.Today - cs.date_case_opened), }; just now it shows eg 4:00:00:00 if the difference is 4 days, any ideas how i can present this better? thanks
