    What's the best value for money c# code protection? Some just use obfuscation, others add win32 wrapping, some cost a fortune. So far I've come up with http://www.eziriz.com/ who's Intellilock looks promising. Any other suggestions? Any reasons why this is not a good idea? I know its impossible to completely protect but I'd prefer the ability to protect my code so that it would require a lot of effort in order to recover it. I do hope to sell my products eventually, while also releasing some for free.

  • How does MTOM work + sample code

    I am trying to make a very simple web-service which does the following: The client hits the web service requesting a file. The web service's service class queries a hashtable which has the key (search query) and the value as the base64encoded value of a file (say a pdf) Now,I need to use MTOM to return the base64encoded value stored in the hashtable to the client. It's upto the client to decode it and convert it to pdf. So, here are my questions: I understand we encode files to base64 for transmission via web service, but where and how does MTOM come into the picture there? Can some one provide me a simple method which uses MTOM and sends the data back. Do we need to specify something in the WSDL too? or a simple String return type would suffice? Why/Why not? Thanks I have seen this code. It uses a lot of annotations, I just need a simple java code using MTOM. New to J2EE HERE :)

    hi guys, i know implementing database is a huge topic, but i want to have a basic understanding of how database systems works (e.g. memory management, binary tree, transaction, sql parsing, multi-threading, partitions, etc) by investigating the source code of the database, since there are a few already proven very robust open source databases like mysql, sqlite and so on. however, the code are very complicated and i have no clue where to start. also i find that the old school database textbooks are only explaining the theory, not the implementation details. Can anyone suggest how should i get started and is there any books that emphasis on the technology and techniques of building dbms used in modern database industry? Thank in advance!

  • Good tools which generate NUnit unit tests for .NET assemblies in Visual Studio 2008

    Hey guys, I'm pretty new to Unit Testing so bare with me. I realize that best best practice is not to auto generate unit tests, however I'd like to use Code Generation to set-up the basic skeleton of the tests. Now, I know Visual Studio 2008 already has the built in "create tests", however, it just creates a flat list of all the classes it's going to test... and it's not for NUnit right? Ideally, I'd like the code generation to follow the folder AND namespace structure of the assembly its generating tests for. Can you guys recommend any good tools which generate NUnit unit tests for .NET assemblies in Visual Studio 2008? cheers!

  • Why a very good PHP framework - Qcodo (or Qcubed - its branch) - is so unpopular?

    I am wondering why this framework (QCodo) is almost forgotten and totally unpopular. I've started using it a few years ago and it is the only thing that keeps me with PHP. Yeah ... its development is stuck (that's why there is now more active branch Qcubed) but it is still very good piece of software. Its main advantages: Event driven (something like asp.net) no spaghetti code Powerful code generation good ORM follows DRY very simple AJAX support is fun to write Since then I wanted to be trendy and checked Django but I cannot write normal request-based web application (it just doesn't feel right). Don't believe? chess.com is written with it and surely there are plenty others. My 2 questions are: Have you heard of it (PHP people)? If you are using it what is your opinion about it (show us examples of your work) Thanks

    I need a "find nearest location" on our website. Where visitor enters their zip/postal code, then they are redirected to specific webpage for our nearest location. We have forty USA and Canada locations. How can I build something like this? Could I do this with the Google Maps API? I already have a custom map on Google Maps. It's plotted with our locations. It would be nice to send Google Maps a command to say "what's our nearest location at __ zip code". Any suggestions?

    Hi! I'm working on a game for the iPhone where I use the Oolong engine for rendering, and now I just tried to update my project to the newest version. However - now I get the following error when I try to compile: gcc-4.2 failed with exit code 1 in the build results I see in which cpp file the error happens, but I don't see any additional information. how can I get more info about what is going wrong in order to track down the problem? edit: after inspecting the compile output, i got the following lines, where the error occurs: {standard input}:61:selected processor does not support 'fmrx r0, fpscr' {standard input}:62:unshifted register required -- 'bic r0,r0,#0x00370000' ...somemorelines {standard input}:69:selected processor does not support 'fmxr fpscr,r0' this is some VFO code from one of the #include files. it works fine in the examples that come with the egnine. could there be something screwed up with my project settings? I compared them to the one of the example and they seem to be identical

    Hi, I participate in a TDD Coding Dojo, where we try to practice pure TDD on simple problems. It occured to me however that the code which emerges from the unit tests isn't the most efficient. Now this is fine most of the time, but what if the code usage grows so that efficiency becomes a problem. I love the way the code emerges from unit testing, but is it possible to make the efficiency property emerge through further tests ? Here is a trivial example in ruby: prime factorization. I followed a pure TDD approach making the tests pass one after the other validating my original acceptance test (commented at the bottom). What further steps could I take, if I wanted to make one of the generic prime factorization algorithms emerge ?     Hi all, The following code works fine on my WAMP localhost server, but when I try to upload it, to my webhoste, it don't and I'm a bit confused about what's wrong. The code is: <?php if(isset($_GET['menu'])) { if($_GET['menu'] == 3) { echo "<!--Gallery Scripts-->\n"; echo gallery(); } } ?> The purpose is that if the URL is saying: index.php?menu=3 it will run the function "gallery()" which will load the gallery.     Is it possible to write a Google Wave plugin that turns it into an IDE for programming? With such an extension, Google Wave would be a replacement for Eclipse etc., and it would naturally be a code repository at the same time (replacing SVN, git, etc.). Users (programmers) would be able to create code files directly in Wave and add collaborators to do pair programming etc. The whole codebase would live in a Wave folder, and an extension would do the building and compiling on the fly. How would one go about writing such an extension?

  • Best code structure for arcade games

    Hi, I've developed a few arcade games so far and have the following structure in almost all of them: I have 1 file which contains a class called kernel with the following functions: init() welcome_screen() menu_screen() help_Screen() play_game() end_screen() And another file, called Game, which basically calls all these functions and controls the flow of the game. Also, I have classes for different characters, whenever required. Is this a good code structure, or should I try having different files(classes) for different functions like welcome screen, playing, help screen, etc? As in, instead of including all the code for these things in 1 file, should I be having different classes for each one of them? The only problem I think it might cause is that I would need certain variables like score, characters, etc which are common to all of them, that's why I have all these functions in a Kernel class so that all these functions can use these variables.

  • Ant target for compile-time code instrumentation with Spring aspects

    I have developed a web application using Netbeans 6.7 and Ant. The webapp works, but I would like to refactor the code to use @Configurable Spring annotation for cleaner dependency injection. I was able to get load-time weaving (LTW) of Spring aspects to work intermittently (see http://forum.springsource.org/showthread.php?t=86904). At this point I would like to use compile-time weaving with my tool set. Could anybody provide an Ant target that I can use to weave Spring aspects at compile time? An extra credit will be given to anybody who explains how to configure Netbeans to execute the new Ant target right after code compilation. Thanks.

    I have a bare repository initialize on my webserver. I code on my workstation and I'm able to push/pull/commit changes to it. Now, I want to deploy this code on the webserver but into my apache directory (/var/www/html). If I wanted to track the changes (only pull no push) from this directory, should I clone the repo first? This way I can make changes locally, then commit and push to "central repo" and then pull from the documentroot folder to see the changes in "prod."

I need CPS, because I have XMLHttpRequests when validating uris, then downloading pages, but I can't use return statements, because I use asynchronous calls. Is there an alternative to CPS?
