• Feeding PDF through IInternetSession to WebBrowser control - Error

  As related to my previous question, I have developed a temporary asynchronous pluggable protocol with the specific aim to be able to serve PDF documents directly to a WebBrowser control via a database. I need to do this because my limitations include not being able to access the disk other than IsolatedStorage; and a MemoryStream would be far better for serving up PDF documents that average around 31kb. Unfortunately the code doesn't work, and I'm getting an error from the WebBrowser control (i.e. IE): Unable to download . Unable to open this Internet site. The requested site is either unavailable or cannot be found. Please try again later. EDIT: A friend suggested inserting a line that calls the IInternetProtocolSink.ReportProgress with BINDSTATUS_CACHEFILENAMEAVAILABLE pointing at the original file. This prevents it from failing now and shows the PDF in the Adobe Reader control, but means it defeats the purpose of this by having Adobe Reader simply load from the cache file (which I can't provide). • Sharing one static ip for both ftp and www service

  Trying to figure out how to update the Zone record and configure webserver so that one application on the webserver is accessible by public. I'm completely not good at NS/DNS/NAT/firewall/routing/port forwarding/networking etc. "faraday" is the intranet name. Everyone within local network can access all applications hosted on "faraday". Hostname for webserver is "www", FTP server is "ftpserver". Both servers running RHEL4 OS. The goal is to allow anyone outside the company network (public) to access only one of the many applications on "faraday". Hope somebody can help me with some of the questions below, if not all. From zoneedit record, the static IP is used by FTP now. Can I use the same existing static IP - 219.95.10.100, for web service? Currently anyone who enter "http://www.abc.com.my" will be directed to "http://www.abc.com". I don't want this to change. Currently, no one else, except employee on local network, can access "faraday" web pages. How to configure so that when anyone type "http://thisapp.abc.com.my" on their web browser, the url will lead them to "http://faraday/thisapp" (application folder is /var/www/html/thisapp on RHEL4 web server). If possible, how to set the URL will continue to show "http://thisapp.abc.com.my" instead of "http://faraday/thisapp" How to limit/restrict user (those who are not from local network) so they only have access to "http://thisapp.abc.com.my", but not "http://faraday" or "http://faraday/anotherapp", etc. What's the configuration changes needed in /etc/httpd.conf on web server?   I am pretty new to Java and its JTables and this is where I am struggling at the moment. I need to create a GUI which shows me results of a sql query like SELECT * FROM tblPeople WHERE name='Doe'. My idea was to create a a JFrame which displays a JTable with all found records. Besides this, I need to also implement some code to handle when a user is double clicking a record or selecting it by using his arrow keys (additional feature: pressing 12(e.g.) should select the 12th record). What is the best way to structure my program (what classes do I need and especially where do I store my logic)? I came up with structuring it the following way: Main.java ("view") SQLConnection.java PeopleTableModel.java (only stores and returns data given by the passed ResultSet, "model" inherits from DefaultTableModel) PeopleTable.java (stores basically all my logic including KeyListener and MouseListener, "controller", inherits from JTable) Are there better ways to achieve my goals? If so, what are they?

  I updated to Ubuntu 12.04 with Compiz..now Compiz is failing and I have no tool bars or ways of getting to applications except for firefox from a link presented from sending an error report. How am I supposed to: Fix this mess with no navigation to get to the terminal, or software center. When will this problem be fixed? When I updated the system why didn't it change me back to the crappy Unity interface (No offense). If it can't be fixed how do I get my files back?

• Cannot login via Unity login screen after upgrade to 12.04

  Logging in via the shell accessed through Ctrl+Alt-F1 and logging in as guest via the graphical user interface work 0O When I try to log into my standard user account via the graphical interface, the screen flashes to black for a couple of seconds and bumps me back to a pristine login screen. Entering a wrong password for my user account yields the standard error message - my user account and credential verification seem to be OK. I suppose that my individual graphics configuration causes problems ... I'm not sure how to reset that. I've tried stopping the UI via sudo service lightdm stop executed sudo nvidia-xconfig and restarted the UI sudo service lightdm start to no avail. My workstation has a Nvidia GeForce 560-448 graphics card. I've tried getting this fixed with the latest Nvidia 64-bit drivers (cURL'ed from the official website), that is 295.49 and the latest beta driver 302.07. Anybody have an idea how to get this fixed? Your help is appreciated :)

  were about to change to gmail from a webmail provided by our hosting provider, i understand changing the mx records and all. But my main worry was if there would be any emails that would fall through the gaps of the two systems during change over. Im not familiar with the ins and outs of how the mx record works, is it like a dns record change, ie. it needs to propagate ? If thats the case would there be a period were its left my current email provider but not switched to the new gmail account ? Thus allowing emails not be delivered or worse lost ?

• Way to make Shotwell use ffmpegthumbnailer instead of Totem for thumbnails?

  Totem never works right in my experience. My latest problem is that totem will not display some video Thumbnails. I fixed the problem by installing ffmpegthumbnailer and using this to generate thumbnails. But unfortunately it appears to have only fixed the problem within Nautilus. Shotwell, it seems, is still relying on Totem for its thumbnails because all the same videos that Totem wouldn't show Thumbnails for, Shotwell still won't either--even though Nautilus is now showing thumbnails for them because of ffmpegthumbnailer. How do I get Shotwell to use ffmpegthumbnailer instead of Totem for video thumbnails?

• Android library to get pitch from WAV file

  I have a list of sampled data from the WAV file. I would like to pass in these values into a library and get the frequency of the music played in the WAV file. For now, I will have 1 frequency in the WAV file and I would like to find a library that is compatible with Android. I understand that I need to use FFT to get the frequency domain. Is there any good libraries for that? I found that [KissFFT][1] is quite popular but I am not very sure how compatible it is on Android. Is there an easier and good library that can perform the task I want? EDIT: I tried to use JTransforms to get the FFT of the WAV file but always failed at getting the correct frequency of the file. Currently, the WAV file contains sine curve of 440Hz, music note A4. However, I got the result as 441. Then I tried to get the frequency of G4, I got the result as 882Hz which is incorrect. The frequency of G4 is supposed to be 783Hz. Could it be due to not enough samples? Now that mobile devices are common, what is the the best approach to support both desktop and mobile browsers? Establish a separate mobile site (e.g: mobile.example.com) Serve a different CSS to mobile devices; if so how? Server-side browser sniffing, or a @media rule? I was able to record some web service traffic and identify a problem as Fiddler can record both the call to a web service and response from the web service. By seeing the actual data traffic I was able to resolve a problem found in testing in less time than it has taken me to write this blog entry!   I'm unable to record audio without noise on my Ubuntu laptop . It is not a grounding problem . My windows os is able to record voice without the static noise so, my hardware is fine . I read in the Windows forums that the os has software noise filtering mechanism that's automatically enabled. How do I do the same in Ubuntu?   What are the conventions for item batch identifiers in inventory management systems? For example: A retail supermarket can order 'Item X' from either 'Supplier A' or 'Supplier B'. When it completes an order for the item from either supplier, it needs to store the record of the receipt. Inventory quantity for the item is increased upon receipt of the order. However it is also required to store some record of the supplier. Thus some sort of batch identifier is required. This batch identifier will uniquely identify the item received and the supplier from whom it is received. A new batch is created each time items are received in stock (for example, after an order). Hence, for purposes of accounting / auditing, information available to identify an item after it was sold comprises of ITEM_CODE, ITEM_NAME, BATCH_CODE. The BATCH_CODE is unique and is associated with DATE_RECEIVED, SUPPLIER_CODE, QTY_RECEIVED. Is this a complete system specification for the above scenario or has anything significant been left out?

As well of this I'm taught how to capture requirements from clients, so as to start a new project. How do I do this for a nebulous personal project? I say nebulous, as I often find halfway through programming something, I want to expand what my program will do, or alter the result. Eventually I'm tangled in code, and have to restart.   Note: A while back i had no place to host my domain, then via namecheap i set it to forward my domain to google I bought webhosting again today and everything was working fine. I set up vhosts and set up www.domain as the server alias. Both worked. Then i tried to set up a alternate subdomain test.domain, but failed (I did it by creating a alternate vhost right below the current one) as it kept redirecting to google. As a test, i replaced the www with test in serveralias, it still redirected to google but now even www redirects to google. I am using cloudflare, and i am really confused how to go about this. I tried listing www as a cname and as a A record, still redirecting to google. I tried checking via proxies e.t.c, its universal and hence not a problem of my PC. Please help, i am really distressed by this. I am running a ubuntu 13.10 x32 stack with LAMP.
