• Can I use MX records to deliver some addresses to Google Apps and some to my server?

  I have whm installed on my VPS, which my domain MX records are pointing to: 0:mail.mydomain.com and whm/cpanel has mail forwarding rules which pipes certain @mydomain email addresses into my CRM software. But for certain email addresses I want to forward into Google Apps. For example, sales@mydomain.com, support@mydomain.com pipes into cPanel -- CRM (mail.mydomain.com) but josh@mydomain.com should be going to Google MX records. Is that possible? The reason why is I want to register for Google Apps such as analytics and other Google services under josh@mydomain.com. My initial thoughts were to add a subdomain such as [email protected].com and point that subdomain's MX records to Google.. but I want to avoid this if possible.

For example www.abc.com, www.xyz.com and several sites fetch content from my webapp hosted on tomcat with apache as the web server. My web app is hosted at www.mysite.com. www.abc.com should forward to www.mysite.com?id=abc www.xyz.com should forward to www.mysite.com?id=xyz Can you tell me how to configure dns entries, apache and tomcat configuration to achieve this scenario?? These site will have to be added dynamically! so is there any way to update the dns entries dynamically without restarting the dns server ... and similarly for apache and tomcat also??   Until recently my operating system was XP where for the purpose of development and testing of php and zen cart I set up xampp that included apache http server and mercury mail server I also made changes to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts as follows: 127.0.0.1 www.zen.com # For browser access 127.0.0.1 mail.mercury.com # For email access 127.0.0.1 mercury.com # For mercury mail server This allowed the use of www.zen.com in the address bar of my browser rather than 'localhost' and mail.mercury.com to access email via thunderbird. All was well. Then I installed windows7, I made all the mods and again everything appeared to run as expected.Then I turned off my wireless modem causing all working local connections to fail. Localhost in the address bar still works but not www.zen.com and thunderbird 'cannot find mail.mercury.com' Is there some way to overcome what ever is causing this.

• Issue with www to non www redirect

  Hello, I am on slicehost and I followed the articles that they gave for DNS redirection and the www to non www url redirection does work. However, what if I want a www.domain.com to be the default domain. Would I put www.domain.com. as my DNS record name or would I keep domain.com. as my DNS record and then do something else. Basically, what happens is if someone goes to the url www.domain.com/directory/something.html they will be redirected to domain.com and not domain.com/directory/something.html I would like the second thing to happen, not just go to domain.com and call it a day. I am running nginx and am confounded on how to solve this issue. I'm not sure whether its an nginx issue or a dns issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

• Apache2: Trying to map a subdomain to a subdirectory

  So basically I want to have: sub.domain.com/anything - domain.com/asub/anything I'm a bit new to this and a bit confused. The first thing I did was configure my DNS settings so sub.domain.com goes to domain.com using a CNAME (would an A record and the IP be better?) Next I went into my VirtualHost file and have: RewriteEngine on RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} www.(.+) [NC] RewriteRule ^/(.*) http://domain.com/$1 [R] RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^sub.domain.com RewriteRule ^/(.*) http://domain.com/asub/$1 [R] So the first rule is meant to handle www. and making sure that is caught correctly and it works. The second rule is what I've added for the subdomain mapping and it doesn't seem to be doing anything

  Hello, I'm developing a standalone client that invokes some EJB methods on Glassfish v3. This works well until I'm integrating the client into an Eclipse plugin for running in our RCP application. In our bluehost server-file manager we have 2 separate folders namely abc,xyz which is pointing to the site abc.com and xyz.com . I dont know how to find the Ipaddress of those folders. Note: We faced some prblms in abc.com and we have redirected abc.com to xyz.com. I am trying to find the IP address of abc.com and xyz.com .. How to find so in the bluehost server.

• Modify shell script to monitor/ping multiple ip addresses

  Alright so I need to constantly monitor multiple routers and computers, to make sure they remain online. I have found a great script here that will notify me via growl(so i can get instant notifications on my phone) if a single ip cannot be pinged. I have been attempting to modify the script to ping multiple addresses, with little luck. I'm having trouble trying to figure out how to ping a down server while the script keeps watching the online servers. any help would be greatly appreciated. I haven't done much shell scripting so this is quite new to me.   I have a domain "test.com" and I want this domain to redirect to "mydomain.com/test". I'm with 1and1 for my domain test.com and with discountAsp for mydomain.com. In the control panel of 1and1 you can set a redirection from a domain to another domain, so everything is fine. But when i'm on the page mydomain.com/test I want my url to be rewritten as test.com Is this possible to do that with IIS or in my asp.page (would prefer in my page) I'm using iis7 Thanks
