• Advice/suggestions for my first project PHP Classes

  Hi guys, Any advice is welcome! I have a very limited understanding of php classes but below is my starting point for the route I would like to take. The code is a reflection of what I see in my head and how I would like to go about business. Does my code even look ok, or am I way off base? What are your thoughts, how would you go about achieving such a task as form-validate-insertquery-sendmail-return messages and errors?   Hey guys, When using the Facebook Connect AS API, the user will be prompted to log in to FB in a pop up window. At this point I want to block interaction in my flash movie and wait for them to complete logging in (or potentially close/cancel and not log in). I have seen examples where people put up a Flex "Alert" box with some hint like "Press ok once you have logged into facebook", but I want to automatically listen for them logging in or canceling/closing the popup window without logging in. Is there an event I can listen for with flash? So far I am using ZERO javascript, but I guess I could add a little if it is needed for this... I definitely want to avoid having some sort of "Press OK" alert box, but instead have the flash application automatically react to the user logging in with the popup window.

  I am using java.util.logging in an EJB application running on glassfish v3. I can see the log messages in server.log but i don't seem to be able to configure the logging level in glassfish\domains\domain1\logging.properties. If I use: Logger logger = Logger.getLogger("com.foo"); To obtain the logger and log with: logger.info("message"); then I expect that if I set com.foo.level=WARNING in logging.properties then the message should not logged. Am I doing something wrong here?

• Passing session between jsf backing bean and model

  Background : I am having backing bean which has upload method that listen when file is uploaded. Now I pass this file to parser and in parser am doing validation check for row present in csv file. If validation fails, I have to log information and saving in logging table in database. My end goal : Is to get session information in logging bean so that I can get initialContext and make call to ejb to save data to database. What is happening : In my upload backing bean, am getting session but when i call parser, I do not pass session information as I do not want parser to be dependent on session as I want to unit test parser individually. So in my parser, I do not have session information, from parser am making call to logging bean(just a bean with some ejb methods) but in this logging bean, i need session because i need to get initial context. Question Is there a way in JSF, that I can get the session in my logging bean that I have in my upload backing bean? I tried doing: FacesContext ctx = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance(); HttpSession session = (HttpSession) ctx.getExternalContext().getSession(false); but session value was null, more generic question would be : How can I get session information in model bean or other beans that are referenced from backing beans in which we have session? Do we have generic method in jsf using which we can access session information throughout JSF Application?

• how to configure jetty 7 to use syslog or log4j

  I am looking for a way to direct all the jetty 7 logging to syslog. My current configuration dumps everything to JETTY_HOME/logs/.. After some initial ivestigation, it seems I should change JETTY_HOME/etc/jetty-logging.xml, but this does not look straightforward. It looks like I should create a new PrintStream implementation which sends its output to syslog and redirecting stderr and stdout to that class in jetty-logging.xml. any easier way to do that or to make jetty log directly to log4j ? • Developing custom MBeans to manage J2EE Applications (Part III)

  This is the third and final part in a series of blogs, that demonstrate how to add management capability to your own application using JMX MBeans. In Part I we saw: How to implement a custom MBean to manage configuration associated with an application. How to package the resulting code and configuration as part of the application's ear file. How to register MBeans upon application startup, and unregistered them upon application stop (or undeployment). How to use generic JMX clients such as JConsole to browse and edit our application's MBean. In Part II we saw: How to add localized descriptions to our MBean, MBean attributes, MBean operations and MBean operation parameters. How to specify meaningful name to our MBean operation parameters. We also touched on future enhancements that will simplify how we can implement localized MBeans. In this third and last part, we will re-write our MBean to simplify how we added localized descriptions. To do so we will take advantage of the functionality we already described in part II and that is now part of WebLogic 10.3.3.0. We will show how to take advantage of WebLogic's localization support to localize our MBeans based on the client's Locale independently of the server's Locale. Each client will see MBean descriptions localized based on his/her own Locale. We will show how to achieve this using JConsole, and also using a sample programmatic JMX Java client. The complete code sample and associated build files for part III are available as a zip file. The code has been tested against WebLogic Server 10.3.3.0 and JDK6. To build and deploy our sample application, please follow the instruction provided in Part I, as they also apply to part III's code and associated zip file. Providing custom descriptions take II In part II we localized our MBean descriptions by extending the StandardMBean class and overriding its many getDescription methods. WebLogic 10.3.3.0 similarly to JDK 7 can automatically localize MBean descriptions as long as those are specified according to the following conventions: Descriptions resource bundle keys are named according to: MBean description: <MBeanInterfaceClass>.mbean MBean attribute description: <MBeanInterfaceClass>.attribute.<AttributeName> MBean operation description: <MBeanInterfaceClass>.operation.<OperationName> MBean operation parameter description: <MBeanInterfaceClass>.operation.<OperationName>.<ParameterName> MBean constructor description: <MBeanInterfaceClass>.constructor.<ConstructorName> MBean constructor parameter description: <MBeanInterfaceClass>.constructor.<ConstructorName>.<ParameterName> We also purposely named our resource bundle class MBeanDescriptions and included it as part of the same package as our MBean.   I am having an issue with a program where after 6 mins +- 5 secs we get the above exception. Some more info about the exception stacktrace is below. This all happens pretty religiously, 6 mins goes by and bam the following 3 exeptions. We have the application installed in 2 other environments and it is working fine there. I am hoping to find some server settings either IIS 6 or Server 2003 settings that may be causing this issue to occur. I have reviewed some of the similar questions and don't see very many answers. • SQL server 2008 R2 installation error

  I have a windows 7,32 bit laptop. I am the administrator with all permissions. when I click on the SQL server 2008R2 set up file,it says : "SQL server set up has encountered the following error:Failed to retreive data for this request" click on OK. I have uninstalled all the components of SQL from control panel. I used Windows installer clean up to remove the files(which I must have not done ),but still no go.   I am having an issue with a program where after 6 mins +- 5 secs we get the above exception. Some more info about the exception stacktrace is below. This all happens pretty religiously, 6 mins goes by and bam the following 3 exeptions. We have the application installed in 2 other environments and it is working fine there. I am hoping to find some server settings either IIS 6 or Server 2003 settings that may be causing this issue to occur. I have reviewed some of the similar questions and don't see very many answers. • COMException when trying to use a Library

  Hi Guys, I have an ASP.net WebService which uses a Library, this has a dependency on some third party .dlls. If I add a reference to the Library to my webservice, I get a COMException and I can't load the site. I thought it may be to do with aspnet user credentials, so I have tried impersonating and using processModel in machine.config but nothing seems to work. The .dlls are for communicating with hardware so I am not even using them on the server just other parts of the library, is there any way I can fix this? I'm running on Windows XP Pro SP3 with Visual 2008 SP1 and .net 3.5. I am thinking the only way of fixing it, is to split up the library into hardware and non-hardware based.
